we were invited to work at the hixton/alma center koa as workkampers,we signed on to have the wife work the office and me outside,,we were to work each 10 hours a week, the wife never got to work in office,,the owners expect u to work 7 days a week and not worry about the hours,,they don't pay u for the extra time but believe u should work them anyway for free,,the offer a pancake breakfast, but have no kitchen and no running water where held,,was told they don't tell the koa rep they serve breakfast because they would make them have a kitchen put in. have to carry jugs of water for everthing,,don't even have a sink in there for hand washing,,just use a bucket,,,very un sanitary,,they treat the workkampers like dirt and expect everything out of them,,,would never go back and further more would never recommend this place to anyone,

We are staying at the KOA in Pasco Wa. It is the loudest RV park we have ever stayed at, The cottonwood trees have so much cotton comeing off them you cannot be outside this time of year. The owners need to spend some of there profits and put a wall up along the freeway, it is bad.

Sunset Beach NC - my son was ran over by an 8 year old driving a golf cart! Then he was air lifted for medical treatment. All in which happened on the property! The camp ground said nothing happened and we were making it up. State law says you must be 16 to drive a golf cart! But the camp ground was aware of the 8 year old who lived there with her family to run over my 4 year old!

We just returned from a 3-night stay at the Waldport (Oregon) KOA. It was easy to get to, and it is located on Alsea Bay, and there are good views of the bay and the bridge. Sort of a pretty campground, and we were allowed to check in an hour early. We stayed in a one-room Kabin, and it was clean. Overall, the park was quiet and peaceful. The problems we encountered: THE BATHROOMS. There are six toilet/shower rooms, and two regular bathrooms. They were always messy and sometimes nasty. There were, as nearly as I can recall, never more than a dozen sites and cabins total being occupied; and most of those were self-contained RVs. It doesn't make sense that the bathrooms/showers the rest of us used should go untouched, since the park was so sparsely occupied. I realize a lot of the problem lies with the public's habits. I rarely entered any of the bathrooms to find that the toilet had been flushed, and it's hard to understand why someone who's dropped something on the floor can't be bothered to pick it up. Still, the responsibility for giving the rest of us clean and tidy facilities falls to owner/manager. Paper towel dispensers were left empty, there were old mildew stains on the tired shower curtains, and the handicap accessible shower's faucet had the hot and cold backward. That's a disaster waiting to happen. On the morning of the third day, I saw activity on one side of the bathhouse, and figured they were about to be cleaned. Two shower/toilet rooms and a bathroom were caution-taped off. Soon I saw that the doors were being painted. Sinced the rooms on the other side had been locked, or were in use, I stepped into the corner room that wasn't taped off, on the side where the man was painting doors, so I could brush my teeth; and I locked the door. About halfway through my brushing, I heard the door rattle, and before I could say anything, the painter had opened the door with a key. We were both shocked. I finished and headed back to the cabin, and he stopped me to apologize. I told him that to knock first and wait for an answer might have been the smarter move. THE CHILDREN. Not many children in attendance, but the ones who were there felt free to walk unattended through our Kabin site on the way to and from one of the playgrounds. I wonder if these parents don't read the newspaper. One afternoon, there were three little boys walking through, with their mom right behind them. Common courtesy is lacking, I know; and this doesn't necessarily fall to management to police, even though our handout read that we were not to walk through other's sites. Just an observation. Overpriced, then, with the lack of clean restroom facilities, and we won't be going back to that campground.

Weatherford , Texas - KOA - This is the worst park to stay at !! Gary the owner is very rude and does not take proud in his business.. The park is very trashy looking, there are drug dealers in the park and there is a sex offender that lives here in the park. This has also been at least 3 or more break ins alone will a stolen trailer.. Please don't let the pictures on the KOA site , this park isn't that nice.. WiFi suck you never can get on and there isn't cable through out the park.. You better off just staying on side of the road then here!! I can't believe KOA even let this park go KOA ....

Koa weatherford off of tin top road is the worst astablishment. The owner is cheap and an a**. The owner makes fun of women's weight, looks ect... he charges more than needed. This Rv park at 2205 tin top rd weatherford tx is trash, there are prostitutes, drug dealers, drug users, peeping Tom's and break ins on a weekly basis. He takes advantage of the good residents and lets the bad one go when they don't even pay rent. There has been numerous this that have been stolen including a trailer and no action has been done. This is a establishment that is crime infested, drug driven, ect... i would never stay here again! Especially after i revived an electric bill in thewinter of 200 dollars. I asked about it and they had already billed me and thenfound out the bill was only 30 dollars! He refused to give me a refund! Do not stay here unless you want to be ripped off around drugs or looking for payed sex!

My significant displeasure is in trying to speak with someone at corporate. Despite leaving voice mails and sending an e-mail to the CEO no one has contacted me. This does not speak well for a company who supposedly prides istself on customer service.

Weatherford Texas KOA -- showers don't stay hot , WIFI don't work but 10% of the time they need more WIFI access then just a little box park is to big , not all spot have cable , washer and dryer area the dryers don't dry good have to put atleast 2 dollars or more. Swimming pool is nasty looking around the edge above water , during summer hours bathrooms always hot and winter they are freezing , I have address owner all he states is they he is saving money ! This place need a major pick up for the prices.

I attempted to cancel a reservation for December at the Terre Haute KOA via email. I received a response stating I couldn't cancel it because I agreed to the cancellation requirements required because of the The Covered Bridge Festival held from October 1-18th and had already made one change to the reservation. The only problem? I made my reservation on October 30th. After the festival. And I'd never changed my reservation at all. So I called and was told that this is what their system says, so tough beans for me on the refund and to call corporate if I had a problem. So I called corporate. The feedback staff verified my information and dates, and contacted the campground, and eventually called me back with a warning that I didn't cancel per the instructions (I guess they want you to call). I thanked her and said I would call, as my email confirmation stated I had to cancel 48 hours in advance and at the time, it was 51 hours in advance. I called the campground and stated my name and said I wanted to cancel. I was put on hold, then told the owner wanted to speak to me. The owner tried to say the agreement was 2 full business days in advance of the day of arrival (essentially, 72 hours notice). Then the owner proceeded to berate me from everything from interrupting (whether I was or not, and believe me, the man wouldn't let you talk and if he managed to stop and you started, he started screaming again) to my stupidity. I was completely stunned and upset and my spouse took over the call, to a very similar result. Eventually, my spouse asked for the man's name and title, to which he refused and hung up on us. I called back, and I finally got a small window to explain that my email clearly says 48 hours, that's the contracted time frame, I was within my time frame, I made the phone call instead of emailing again, and this all started because someone decided I had made a reservation at a time I clearly hadn't and had to get the national organization involved. Eventually, he put me on hold, and came back to say that he would cancel the reservation, not because that's what the conditions required or because he was wrong about the whole Covered Bridge deal, but because he didn't want to hear any more complaints. I then asked if I could get an email confirming the cancellation, and the berating and ranting started again, and I never had a true opportunity to speak, but for a small window in which I asked why he was treating me in such a manner. I was crying again at this point - that's how bad it was and I've had some heinous interactions with lawyers and criminal defendants! At that point, I got yelled at again for interrupting, and then told a) don't ever reserve or stop at his RV park (hey, no problem, dude!) and b) don't reserve at KOA because they don't like our type (huh, average middle class legal professional and a psychologist/professor - yeah, I guess we suck!). Then he hung up on me. I called the same woman back at the national HQ feedback line, and she gave me her e-mail address and asked me to send in my statement. She was helpful in both instances I spoke with her. I'd not had any such incident to date w/KOA. But frankly, this wa s the most awful conversation/bullying I've been subject to in over 15 years of being in the legal field. That's quite an accomplishment. Perhaps they are a fine campground. But if you cancel, you better do it as soon as you know and don't wait until the last minute because you may need the time to send emails and contact the national office for assistance. The reality is we did cancel in time and in no way earned a browbeating when they made $10 over the cancellation and are going to be able to give that spot to someone else potentially.

NOT A KOA SITE ANYMORE!! Follow up! We are parked in a once KOA site, and is now operated privately. This location is on our route, West, and is in Philipsburg Misouri. The campground is called HAPPY TRAILS,.It is wonderful, and half the price we paid last night at Terre Haute. The people are so friendly, the facilites are good, and a pull through is a pull through with lots of space. Several sites to choose from, yet a smaller campground. Wow, what a difference. And it did not take us 15 minutes worth of paper work to sign in. Thank you for this website that allows us to let others know what is ahead of them in travelling and finding a reasonable, good campground. We are snowbirds and travel off season.

I have been a KOA member for some time now travelling in Canada and the U.S.A. I am thoroughly disappointed in your quality control. You obviously have none. We are in Terre Haute Indiana. We are literally paying over 49.00 for a shithole. The water is not even on the same side of the rest of the hookups, the tables are falling apart, and we don't even have enough room to leave with someone parked next to us. These are not pullthroughs for big rigs. Our car is sticking out ont he road, and there is much more to say...yet I won't. Sorry for the deflammatory word, however there is nothing else to describe it as. We have come from a wonderful KOA in North Toronto, Ontario, Canada and don't mind paying these high rates. There are several across Canada that are upkept and great. However, in the U.S.A we have found none so far. You have lost all credibility. KOA camp sites can charge whatever they please. We can park our RV in a motel lot and pay much less for the night. A few years ago we experienced another unsightly camp ground in Missouri. From now on we will stay at private campgrounds. Sad, sad, sad. If I could rate you negative I would rate negative negative negative...and the price is ridiculous.

i have stayed at 2 different koa rv parks (1 in ely nevada and the 2nd is in pocatello idaho). the first one was pretty good, had nice mangenment and a fairly nice park. however the 2nd one that im staying at is not all that good. the park itself is nice, love the trees but do not love the annoying, barking dogs. i have made several complaints about the constant barking and nothing has been done. the dogs barking has woke me up on several occassions at around 6:30 in the morning, which in my books is unexceptable, however since monday i have not heard the annoying dogs. and the internet service is VERY POOR / SLOW.

Bought 1night lodge 130 dollars my 4 children in middle night petrified bee stings and all sleeping in my room woke up every hour with wasp bites and screaming told manager at medina could not care less Sad ps tadpoles and frogs in pool

Stayed at koa in muskegon michigan, It was awesome! My son and grandson had a great time playing on the waterslides in the lake. Me and my husband was able to relax, people that worked there were very friendly. Its not a huge campground but it is real nice. So if your going to michigan adventure or just passing thru stop and camp there you wont regret it,

KOA 5th ave S MBSC. Leslie Bohannon used family car to hit/and run over his wife on Thusday 8/4. He is a known drunk and on several ocassion police have been called on the the scene due to his voilent and public drunkeness. Wife is in MBSC hospital fighting for her life (coma/ventilator). Bohannon left the scene to cowardly return over 24 hours later. To only say he didnt do it. KOA has been notified on several occasions of this man anger, drunking rages, and public vulgarity. And still no eviction. Why? Not only has his wife now been injured to the point she may not walk correctly again or live! and her beauty distroyed by tons of metal on her body and face. He has victimized the poor older adult community/grad kids who saw the after math of this sick mans works. Children that saw his wife on ground are devestated for life. I was told that Management (someone by the name of Moe), allowed this evil back into the KOA site to live. Witnesses said manager was quoted saying thru the grape vine "Just keep a low profile till this blows over". I believe this! I heard that ppl staying in the campground have been evicted for lesser offenses. Hit.run, wreckless driving, indangering others, public intoxication. It is true the innocent will always suffer for the guilty! As a frequent KOA camper. I request either to remove this monster, or HQ will be blowing up with complaints. I dont live there, but over the years there are some wonderful ppl I have met. I feel sorry that management has turned a cheek to the dark side and didnt do what right. Im sure this man has broken enough KOA policies to have evicted him a long time ago.

We arrived in Herkima, NY on the 14th of July, about 2:30PM, our site had never been cleaned from the previous renter, it didn't happen until the 15th late in the day. We asked for 50 amp service, were given 30 amp. I could have dealt with that had it been a true 30 amp service, our inside meters read between 105 and 108 watts, way below service. When we complained we were told it was because they were packed solid. Well Monday morning when the place emptied out with us being the only unit in an 11 unit slow right on the river, we still didn't have ample electric service. This is totally unacceptable and could have damaged our rig had we not been paying attention. The people here are rude and useless when asked a question. We're leaving tomorrow the 21st, a dog, a Malamut has been tied to a tree for the entire week, never walked, barely fed and provided water once a day. The temps here are in the 90's and that poor animal is tied up without water. The employees ride by and ignore the situation. This is animal cruelty at best. We will never return here and will tell everyone not to bother, this is not the KOA we have grown to know.

We always look for a KOA when travelling. Now that we are retired we will be travelling much more. On our way home from Florida on July my wife got sick so I decided to stop very early, wondering if I might even have to take her to a hospital. We are both 67 years old and take care of each other. I saw a sign for a KOA in Columbus, Texas so I stopped there to care for my wife. I stopped at the office and the door was locked and nobody there at 2:30 P.M. Since I really needed to stop I went on and pulled into a spot. Two ladies came out of their RV and said the spot was reserved since their friends were arriving Sunday. We told them we were only staying one night and that was fine. The managers, Mr. & Mrs Traverse, returned about 45 minutes later and I walked over to the office to register. Only Mrs. Traverse was in the office at the time. I told her we only wanted to stay one night and told her I may have to pull into the spot a different way since there was a tree limb hanging out that our slide out would hit. She then said very hateful that she didn't care. I asked her to walk over to the site and see for herself. Then she said "there was no way in Hell I am walking anywhere." About that time her husband came in and told me he could move us to another site and I said that was fine. Before I even got the words out of my mouth Mrs. Traverse started raising her voice and said "I don't want them here!" She turned to me then and said "you have 30 minutes to get out." I have NEVER been treated like this at any place I have ever stayed! I asked for her business card and told her I was going to contact KOA. At that point she said "I am contacting KOA myself and telling them about you and you still have 30 minutes to get out!" I NEVER raised my voice to her, never used bad language, and was always polite although after she yelled at me to get out my voice probably became pretty snotty. I have no idea what she is going to tell you but I was always very polite to her. I haven't yet but my wife wants me to rip up my KOA card and doesn't want to stay at any KOA again. We had to drive almost another 100 miles with my wife sick before we found another park and believe me it was not a KOA. I have emailed KOA Inc. a week ago and have not received an answer, evidently they do not care how their park managers treat customers. Sincerely, Mitchell Simmons

Little Rock North, I40. July 5, 2011 - Camped in fifth wheel, drive through site. Cable terrible. Sites are extremely close with sewer within one foot of picnic table of next site; site from our door was within 2 feet of where the next camper parked. Roads were terrible with broken pavement and much needed gravel; dog run needed more gravel (would have liked to seen grass.) People in office were VERY nice, attentive, courteous; person who accompanied us to site was very helpful. We couldn't put out of awning due to a pine tree in the area where MOST campers have awnings attached. We were passing through from Oklahoma to Mississippi -- this campground is very convenient for us -- we would possibly come here again if in a tight - otherwise, we'll find another. First time in eight years of using KOA that we are disappointed. LOVED San Antonio a few years ago - as well as several others of same status. This place definitely needs to be closed and about 1/2 the sites kept -- a jewel in position off the interstate with shade and nice people who work here. Keep the people - work on the campground....

I do not even know how to begin. I made a reservation at the Billings, Mt. KOA,and I paid in full over the phone. Our reservation was made for May 28, May 29, and May 30, 2011. A week before our reservation we had severe flooding up the road from the KOA where we live. Our roads were washed out. I called the KOA and they said that I could receive a refund for a $10.00 fee, or change my reservation. So I changed the reservation. I told the guy that the 4th of July weekend was my next 3 days off in a row, so we changed the reservation to July 2, July 3, and July 4. We had asked for a specific sight so we could stay near friends and everything. So we show up on July 2 to check in and we are told they have no record of me! I was like, what? How can that be? I paid in full, and have called several times through this whole process. The nice young lady behind the counter felt bad and said that she was the one I talked to on the phone. She remembered me, but she needed my confirmation number or some kind of proof that I paid. So, I paid AGAIN! I live up the road, I fugured no big deal I will go home and get my bank statement and bring it back, get my money back no big deal. I was not happy, we did not get the sight we wanted, and so on, but I just wanted to get on with the weekend. So I went and got the bank statement. The girl then said that the bank statement was not enough. She needed a confirmation number. She said she was getting off work and that I needed to come back and talk to her boss. So I did. The manager was very rude from the start. She glanced at the bank statement and said I made it up! I could not believe this. What an accusation. She was loud and rude, and people were standing in line behind me and beside me, my 10 year old daughter was with me. I told her she was pathetic. She then yelled that she was checking me out, and we had to leave. At this point I was so frusterated, and I had no idea what I could do. So I called the police. A friend parked the 5th wheel that we are staying in, so I could not leave, or I would have right away. I am at a loss for words. I am an honest person, and take pride in that. I am here with my 1 yr old, 4 yr old and 10 yr old. My husband and I work hard and just wanted a mini vacation with the kids. We dont even live 6 miles from here. SO, this KOA, stole $118.00 from me and my family. And treated us like we did something wrong.

I just wrote about Billings Koa, and forgot to put my name on it.
