We stayed ay the north Waco koa on our way home a few weeks ago and had a terrible experience. We were told to follow them to our campsite and he took us through an area that took part of our roof off with a tree. The workkamper was very negative about the owner and the "office manager" was not friendly at all. We will never stay there again, the place was extremely run down.
We stayed at the South Padre Island KOA and had very good service. The owners were friendly and the park was kept clean. We would definitely stay there again.
I would like to fiqure out why reps from KOA come out to check out the RV Resort in Meridian and walk around writing up sites for things they feel shouldn't be out! "BUT", IT'S OKAY FOR A SEX OFFENDER TO WORK FOR THE PARK MOWING LAWNS IN ALL THE SITES WITH WOMEN AND CHILDREN. DO YOU ALL KNOW HOW STRESSFUL IT IS THAT HE CAN GO ANYWHERE AND CHILDREN CAN NOT EVEN GO OUTSIDE TO PLAY BECAUSE OF A CHILD SEX OFFENDER BEING FREE WANDERING THE PARK? ALSO ARE YOU AWARE THAT THERE'S ALSO SOMEONE STEALING GIRLS PANTIES OUT OF THE DRYERS? PEOPLE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO GUARD THEIR CLOTHES FROM SOMEONE STEALING THEIR OR THEIR KIDS PANTIES. THERE'S ALSO ADULT WOMEN THAT ARE SCARED OF HIM THAT DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HE WAS A SEX OFFENDER UNTIL SOMEONE TOLD THEM. YOU MIGHT ALSO WANT TO KNOW THERE'S A FEW PERMANENT PEOPLE THINKING HARD ABOUT MOVING OUT OF HERE. I WILL MOVE AND COME OVER HERE ON MERIDIAN ROAD AND MAKE IT A FULL TIME JOB LETTING PEOPLE COMING IN KNOW ABOUT YOUR SEX OFFENDER THAT WORKS HERE. OH! BY THE WAY IF I GET ARREST, COOL, I COULD USE A VACATION...
upon arrival, they will decide if they like you or not. what a joke the customer service is at this campground. the managers wife, jen, thinks her dung don't stink! she is on a real power trip !! fred, her husband is better natured but not much. i think corporate should have a customer service training coarse and teach them all how to be customer friendly, but i guess corporate only cares about the money. let''s face it, the campers don't know what to expect until they have given them their money. sad situation when you're spending your money to have a nice time and enjoy your precious time you have. please...... everyone tell your friends and anyone you run into about the bad customer service.
expecting a pleasant stay at a campground? then don't stay at the nashville koa. the management is more than rude, especially the wife. it's not only me that think so, even the monthly renters are very displeased. any discrepancies you will here them threaten to kick you out. i can see being a stickler for rules but is seems they can't wait to be rude to you. you won't get a "hello, sorry that's against the rules", you'll get some snide remark followed by "go somewhere else if you don't like it." when i first got here, i was told by several other campers "to watch out for the bitch" wasn't long before i found out what they meant. they have a totally different attitude around the corporate people. they really kiss butt. i think corporate should interview the guests to get a real feel for who these people really are. i'll never stay there again and will never recommend it.
I took my children to the KOA in cody wy for a weekend camping trip. When we got there i informed the guy at the desk we needed to be as far away from people as possible due to the fact i have three children with disabilties and they have a tendacy of getting loud. There was no problem with that and he put us in the corner. We had the site up and the kids were playing not being very loud just being kids and the park manager came up got in my face and told me they had recived complaints about the kids being loud and if i couldnt keep my kids quite we would have to leave. I tried explaining to her that my chilren are disabled and they were just having fun but she wouldnt let me get a word in at all. We decided we would just leave we didnt want the babys to fall asleep and us have to wake them up and deal with there meltdowns. I will never again go back to that KOA.
If i could give this place zero stars i would, they cancelled one of my cabin reservations without permission, when i called the Manager "John" at Yellowstone KOA he had very bad attitude told me he didnt want me at "his" campground so he cancelled the reservation that i still had with them and hung up on me! This place is a complete joke, their employees are incompetent and they treat people like dirt! Thanks for ruining our family summer vacation!
My husband had a transplant at Baylor Hospital in Dallas TX. We picked the CADDO MILLS location for us and our 2 kids to stay at. We were only able to stay for 3 nites because my husband went back in the hospital. We paid for a month including 60 dollars for the kids. Deonne the owner would not give any of our money back including the fee for the kids even though we could only stay there 3 nites. I called KOA corporate office and talked to Tammy, she called Deonne and called me back to tell me that there is nothing they could do b/c that KOA is interdependently owned (even though they carry the KOA name and why we picked the place)! Tammy from KOA headquarters also told me that we should find some other place to stay than a KOA! Guess what Tammy and Deonne? WE WILL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER KOA, AND I SINCERELY HOPE YOUR LOVED ONES NEVER NEED A TRANSPLANT AND GET THIS KIND OF TREATMENT!
to whom it may concern, i am writing to you to report the koa at prizer point kentucky on kentucky lake. on may 13th i made a reservation at prizer point koa in eddyville kentucky for the dates of july 5,6,7, and leaving on the 8. at the time of reserving. they charged my credit card with the entire amount of our stay. not just the reservation fee. upon cancelling our reservation , they are keeping 10% for the boat dock fee and 20% for the camp ground fee. why did they take the entire amount of 279 dollars to begin with for three nights. to me this is an outragous price. i also renewed my koa membership so the total bill was 308.00 i don't mind the membership fee ,but the other is way too much. and here at this writing it is june 9th. still plenty of time for them to rebook this camp site. so they are not out any revenue.
I received a newsletter from KOA offering a Fathers Day promotion where kids stay free. I began my resevations for Fathers Day and noticed the rate the same as any other day. I checked 3 differant KOA's and the rates were no differant for Fathers Day. I called a manager at a KOA, and she addmitted that the rates are the same on Fathers Day as any other day because kids are always free. I find it disturbing that KOA would exploit Fathers Day with phony promotions. I left a complaint with corperate office and sent an email. I will go to State Park campgrounds from no on.
I have been a member of KOA since 2002 I have stayed in many of KOA Campground over these past years. But never one like Harper Ferry KOA W.Virgina. First of all the spotter lead me into a tree and bent up two compartment doors, then took me to another spot and guided me into another tree which we had to cut limbs off of the a tree to clear the Motorhome. The Spotter did say he was Sorry but that does not fix two compartment door on a Motorhome I am very upset, I will still probably stay at KOA but I will choose very closely which one. I will not be Harper Ferry W.Virgina.
Walnut Hills KOA Staunton Va. Memorial day wkend. well, the place is nice, but the front office staff( young gals), who over booked, or complaining about one another doing the reservations wrong, or something , was very unprofessional. The owner Steve seemed to be pissed at the world, and the assistant manager riding on his golf cart w/ a radio demanding of his staff. The front desk clerk w/bad teeth,( who wants to see that when they ck in)? anyway, said they work for nothing and can't get good help regarding the pay rates. Great who wants to hear that as their were at least 7 folks behind me. The bath houses were good and cleaned and they had two nice ladies thru the wkend cleaning them thoroughly about the day & night. The groundsman( older fellas were nice and helpful), the younger guy riding a golf cart keeping an eye out for his girlfriend( the young maid), and smoking whatever w/ the young girls at the campgrounds was not professional( almost knocking us down w. golf cart! The recreation lady, complaining of walking, and should have a golf cart, was the person for crafts, and crap donuts for sun church! Where are the BBQ's and nicer food things, and a REAl band?? Then the rumors about the campgrds asst manager and his family, from folks that have been living at the campground) do you want that kind od rumor at your KOA? It ia a drama place here.................
My family has been camping at the Port Angles/Sequim, WA KOA for the past 15 years. This past Memorial Day we made reservations for the holiday, the staff even asked if we were bringing our Corgis, we said yes. When we arrived to check-in they asked if we brought our dogs, we again said yes. One day during our stay my son brought our 8 month old grandson to stay overnight. One evening the grandson was sound asleep in the trailer, it was 10 PM and the rest of the family was enjoying a board game at the picnic table. Suddenly, there were fireworks being lit in the campground by the Owners of the KOA, they had not done this on other visits and Memorial Day seemed odd to do fireworks. We were never advised/notified that they would be lighting off fireworks during our stay, not when we made a reservation or checked in, even after they knew we were bringing our dogs. Of course, the dogs were startled/frightened and one of my Corgi's had just recovered from a slipped disc and was finally able to walk unassisted after being locked up for a month in his kennel. The dog was so startled that the next day he could not walk, once again his back legs were paralyzed from the incident the night before. Not to mention, the grandson woke up from all the loud bangs and dogs moving from door to door in the trailer trying to find a place to hide. When we approached the Owner about the fact that we had young children sleeping and dogs frightened he was very rude about the whole thing, which was surprising to us after all these years. His only comment was next time he will get a fireworks permit so people can't complain about it. Later in the evening, a young girl was walking around the campground after the fireworks were over trying to locate her lost dog because it had run off. The staff was right behind her telling her to go back to her camp because it was now quiet time (10:30 pm). Today we called to move our reservation dates away from the 4th of July because we asked if they were planning to do fireworks on site again, they said yes. I DO NOT think that fireworks have a place in a public campground when there are young children and family pets camping. The whole point of camping is to be able to take our family pets too and enjoy the stay. We found out today that the missing dog from that night had run towards the highway (only a block from the campground) and was struck by a car and killed. The only thing the staff said to us today was they would be sure to have the fireworks notice printed in their activity flyer when you check-in. I think they should be responsible enough to tell you when you make a reservation (especially if they ask if your bringing any pets) that they will be shooting off fireworks onsite, so you can plan accordingly - not wait until you arrive to check-in and tell you then! I can only hope that the family that lost their dog holds this KOA accountable for their actions. I know for us we have been soured by this event and this will most likely be our last time at this KOA, just for the way the Owner treated people after he caused the uproar 30 minutes before quiet time! Not to mention, my poor dog's injuries that will likely cost me $3,000 - $5,000 for surgery now.......I am even considering legal advice to see if I have any recourse myself.
I would give KOA much higher but have a problem with breed restrictions. We had our family reunion at KOA in Cookstown, Ontario last year and were looking to hold it again this year at another KOA campground; however, I have recently acquired a Rottweiler and came to realize that this dog breed is not allowed in any of your campgrounds. Because of this restriction, my family and I are looking elsewhere to hold our annual reunions. I would like to reinforce a point about breed discrimination. You consider these breeds aggressive but if you did your research, you would find that there are more recorded bite incidents with labrador retrievors than there are with Rottweilers or any of the other bully breeds (a term I don't agree with). Maybe you should evaluate the dog on their behavior first hand rather than their breed. My Rottie has been dominated by a chihuahua in the past. He is also trained in obedience (which is continuous) and will only lick you to death if you let him. I understand from speaking to some of the owners that it is due to their insurance policies and I also understand how ignorant insurance companies are but is there any way for KOA to select different carriers that do not discriminate? It would be nice to continue enjoying the KOA experience with my family, including my four-legged member.
Marion , AK , KOA Our stay at this campground was awful The management sheryl is very rude & hateful When my Childern and I arrived they wanted to swim & I was informed they couldn't swim unless I paid it was very upsetting, after all we already paid for our stay people shouldn't have to pay for the amenities such as pool and playground equipment I paid for a months worth of swimming and they swam one day two days later we returned to acquire an arm band to swim and were told we had to pay again my husband was ferrous about this matter We also reported a nest of birds in the main power box and knowone came to check this out or to remove them this kind of thing can cause wireing to fail or even fire if shorted out I have personally seen this before. Also my kids and I walked by a camper that belonged to a grounds keeper having no shirt on and he shouted at us telling us to not walk in his lawn & walk on the road, he also put a sign up on his plants saying stay away only because my son was looking at the tomatoes, in fear I guess he thought he would take one My husband & I decided to move from this camp ground because of such rude behavior, we stopped by the office to tell them we were moving we paid our rent for a month and asked for a cancelation and we would pay for our 4 day stay , Sheryl was very ugly & unprofessional handling the matter she told us if we canceled she would have the law come after us and I really don't take kindly to such behavior, I also don't believe we should pay for things that we don't aquire, we tried to do the right thing. With these people bring so rude I wouldn't reccomend this koa to anyone!!!
I am currently staying at the North Little Rock KOA because my job has transferred me down here to work for a good while I prefer to stay in a camper to keep me mobile in case of emergency I have been staying at this KOA for about 4 months and still have not gotten the quality and convenience that I was promised. My job requires me to have internet to access their website so I know where to report for duty when I'm called out and to read the job profile so I can prepare for the job and until this past couple of weeks I have been unable to connect to the Wi Fi requiring me to walk next to the office just to get a signal. I mentioned multiple times that I couldn't get signal at my camper and that the repeater or the extension that allows signal to reach my site must be turned off or damaged. After about the sixth time bringing this up and the tenth time I was late for work and unprepared for the job I was called for because of no internet, the owner then precedes to tell me that a lead mine down the road interferes with the internet and that I can get my own service for at least $30 a month. Now I'm sorry but I believe Wi Fi is included in my bill and I'm not paying extra for something that is an easy fix which ending up is was an easy fix because one of the nicer attendants told me the repeater was turned off which then made me realize they had made no attempt to fix the internet after my complaints. As of right now I'm am having to sit outside next to the office to type this all I would like is for this inconvenience to be fixed so I do not end up losing my job because of it.
Dear Sir, Madam, During April this year we made a campertour in California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and back to California. It was a great pleasure for us. We visited a lot of campgrounds. We do noticed that the campgrounds of KOA were very, very good. The staff is friendly and polite. In particular the campgrounds in Apache Junction, Picacho and Chula Vista. They spended attention to us and not, as some other campgrounds, only gave us the account and the treatment was very impersonal. Europeans are accustomed to a personal treatment and that we got at the koa campgrounds. Thank you very much and so go ahead. We will tell our friends. With kind regards, Richard & Ella Brand Barneveld / The Netherlands
Re: KOA reservations for West Yellowstone: My camp trailer holds 10 people, and don't get me wrong: I will pay for the number of people or buy addtl sites...whatever it takes, just tell me! But the KOA agent said that was too many people. I explained I was new to camping, and I don't understand because my camp trailer was built to hold 10 people. So how am I supposed to use it? With that, he told me to "have a nice day" and he HUNG UP on me! That is no way to treat a customer. So now it looks seriously looks like I have a camper that I can never use...which is probably good, because I never want to stay at a KOA, either!
I just stayed at the mystic koa in connecticut very nice the staff was awesome,i stayed at the dallas metro koa very bad never will stay there again, people seem to complain about the little things what about how hard the staff works people dont seem to care about that, the staff tries to please everybody I found out u cant please everybody which is very sad
The Sheridan KOA is managed by some of the most cognitively challenged adults I have ever seen. The cabins do not even have fans and the tards that run the place don't even open the windows during the day to cool the cabins off. Everyone that works there looks like they have been drinking the same tard coolaid. Stay away from this place = creepsville
