Bought new Fat boy Harley Davidson Blue Springs MO. Went in for 1000 mile service on 8-29-12. Were supposed to change oil and adjust gas throttle. One and half hour wait, oil changed gas throttle not fixed. Part guy Keith had to go get paper work, went to get my bike still in wash bay one young fellow one older fellow talking ask them if they or I should get the bike out of bay. Young fellow started getting smart said do you want me to wipe my finger print off to, keep it up older fellow kept encouraging young guy on they would not quit. Told part person Keith said call him back next day never called back they should have called me. I have spent over $70,000.00 on three bickes there last four years guess they don't care.

Good story and a nice summation of the perlbom. My only perlbom with the analysis is given that much of the population joined the chorus of deregulatory mythology, given vested interest is inclined toward perpetuation of the current system and given a lack of a popular cheerleader for your arguments, I'm not seeing much in the way of change.
From Maui, Hawaii. Bought a 2011 Screaming Eagle. Picked bike up in Chicago, IL in excitement to ride coast to coast and Sturgis for a week. The nightmare started when we got rained on in Indiana. Stopped in at the Battle Creek Harley Davidson shop in Michigan on July 26th to have the bike tuned. Paid over $500 for a Super Tuner. Bike ran bogging on the top end. Stopped in at the St Paul Harley Davidson on August 03 and was turned away before the service guy honked his horn at us while we were crossing the parking lot to get tot he service desk. They couldn't service any of our HD motorcycles until August 16th. We were told to go next door to Indian Motorcycle to have our oil changed. Keep in mind that the bike is still bogging and popping on the top end. Get to Sturgis and ask eneryone if they would tune the bike, which no one would because the Super Tuner is for HD only. We finally talk to Kuryakyn to see if they could help us. Of course they want us to change to a Mastertune. The guy at Kuryakyn, before even hooking the bike up notices that the O2 sensor was not properly installed. AFTER ALL THE HEADACHES WITH HOW THE BIKE RAN, DUMPING $$$$$ INTO A MOTORCYCLE, VERY UNHAPPY WITH HARLEY DAVIDSON SHOPS ALONG THE WAY, IT TOOK A NON-HD SHOP TO NOTICE WHAT THE MINOR REPAIR WAS.
We definiltey need more smart people like you around.
I have a 2009 Electric glide with 38000km,my starter is too week to turn the bike over, need a stronger starter, primary compensator is worn out need a stronger one,Harley Davidson knows about this whay are they still using those parts.
My daughter purchased a $50.00 Gift card for her dad for Father's Day..he put it in his desk drawer and I found it and went to buy him a gift...they said it had expired....so after buying 3 Harleys and hundreds of clothes and parts...this is the way they treat good customers....$50.00 just p***** away....
I do not know what has happened to HD because the dealers do not want to even talk to anyone unless they have a brand new bike! The motor campany, has forgoten about the people who kept it alive during the time nobody wanted them. We are the ones on the older iron who were always faithful to HD. We didn't go out and buy other brand of motorcycles, we stayed with HD. Now, HD will not sell parts for the bikes that kept them alive. Brothers, if you don't have a NEW 30 thousand dollar bike you wont even get talked to at the dealers when you need something. Now, HD will not sell wholesale parts to the little repair shops! There is no loyalty at the MOTOR COMPANY! I have been riding HD motorcycles since 1971 and almost ready to ride something else. The real Harley Davidson motorcycle is not for the people who made it popular, it's now only for the rich. Anyone agree??
This is "AMERICA"! The land of opertunity! What I do not understand is, why the heck would "Corprate Harley Davidson" cut out Small Buisness (aftermarket shops) and not sell them parts and accessories at a discounted rate anymore? Is it greed or do they just not give a crap about the "Back Bone" of this beautiful country? Maby their next move will be to get in bed with China like G.M. did. I hope not, I have made Harley Davidson my life for the past 25 years. I pray for America to wake up!!!!! The dealerships get a big FINE if they get caught selling to aftermarket shops? That's just a load of B.S.

I had problems with my Wifes 2003 Harly Davidson 1200 custom. I took the bike to Pikes Peak Harley Davidson in Colorado Srings on 8-9-12 to have it looked at! No one called to tell me how much it would be to replace the ignition module they just fixed it for 519.000.No call when the bike was finished, I called them! A phone call would have been nice I could have fixed my self had I been told what was wrong with it. Anyway I went to pick the bike up and the gas tank was all scractched up the young punk said he would have it buffed out!( the ignition module is under the gas tank) The scratches are still there. I called today 8-17-12 and spoke to the manager about the scratches and no calls about the price to fix the bike and was treated like crap. As a matter of fact the whole service department treated me like crap. Im done with Harleys! There all nice when you buy one from them, but after you buy one they treat you like crap. It seems this is going on all around the USA.Any one want to buy 2 Harleys.
The end of March I bought a 2012 Road King in New Hampshire. Three months to the day after my purchase I was coming home from Maine and the bike died.I had to get it towed to my house. I called the dealership to explain the problem and it took 2 days to get back to me saying that they did not think it was covered under my warranty. After having my bike tied up for a week they said it was a problem with the voltage regulaters which they did replace. It has been back 3 times since purchase and I have complained about the rough ride and bottoming out with the rear shock at 20 lbs but to no avail.Customer service is not their strong point.
My first Experience with Chicago Harley and my last. I live in Ohio and wanted to purchase a new Trike but couldn't find one there. I contacted the dealership in Chicago and they had one. I stopped by the next day and bought it. It had a small scratch on the fender that the salesperson said he would have buffed out before being shipped. Well I received my bike today and the scratch is still there, and right side running light doesn't work and the left side rearend has a bad squeak. I contacted the dealership and spoke with the salesperson. He stated the scratch was suppose to have been taken care of and he was unaware of the light or noise. I ask to speak with the store manager, but he was not available due to having a party at the dealership. I spent 35,000 dollars for a bike and now they won't speak with me about problems with the bike.

I BOUGHT A 2012 SCREAMIN EAGLE CVO STREET GLIDE, NEVER AGAIN WILL HARLEY TAKE ME FOR A RIDE LIKE THIS. $38,000.00 FOR A BIKE THAT STALLS, SPITS OUT OF THE INTAKE, RUNS SO FRIGGIN HOT YOUR RIGHT PANT LEG SMELLS AND FEELS LIKE YOU JUST IRONED IT. THIS NOT RIGHT. I TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT.....WELL UP YOURS HARLEY,,,,I HAVE ALREADY ELIMINATED TO SCREAMIN EAGLE SALES AND I WILL CONTINUE TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT YOUR LATEST PROBLEM CHILD. UN REAL WHAT GREED HAS DONE TO THE GREAT AMERICAN DREAM MACHINE,,,,,,TRUST ME MY NEXT BIKE WILL BE A JAP CRAP FOR LESS THAN HALF OF WHAT I PAID FOR THIS......SHAME ON YOU FOR SHAMING THE AMERICAN DREAM
Long read - Sorry. If you bore easily then move on to the next review. I purchased a new '09 CVO SE Springer Softail. The bike is dealer serviced religiously. I purchased the service plan - seemed like a good deal and for the most part that part of this experience has been OK. I am treated like a red-headed stepchild when I go in, but I've never stepped up and demanded that they 'respect' me - if they respect me as a customer it would show but they don't. That's fine with me - I'm not likely to be a repeat customer anyway and once the service agreement is over, they will never see me or my money again anyway. Not to mention - I could care less what those guys think of me anyway. Strike one. After a very short period of time, I noticed the front tire was starting to cup so I looked around online and found that this particular tire had problems and it was discontinued by Dunlop because of the cupping. Harley had a Customer Satisfaction Bulletin about this very tire but it was on the Street Glides, not my bike. At about 3,100 miles, the dealer said it was run underinflated consistently. I informed them that I check the air pressure before each ride and I even fill with Nitrogen each time. We walked out, checked the pressure and it was spot on. They then told me it must be how I ride the bike. Oh. OK. I'm an idiot and I don't know how to ride this motorcycle. What about the CSB from the Street Glide tire problem? Nope - different bike, not related, irrelevant, no go. Oh - I forgot I'm an idiot. I had to replace the tire at my expense with less than 4K miles on it. Strike two. After about 23,000 miles, I needed a new back tire (again). The stock tire lasted about 9K, the first replacement (Metzler) lasted about 14K. I get the tire mounted and I pick the bike up and immediately
Good luck to anyone attempting to use the extended warranty.
Harley Davidson company is closing our hometown dealer, Fletcher's of Clearwater, simply because the will not (cannot afford to) update to what the company feels is their "new image". I think this stinks. Fletcher's was the only dealer in the area I did business with, and now it is being taken away. Shame on you Harley Davidson! I will never visit any other of your dealerships around the country again. My husband says he will never buy another of one your motorcycles (he has owned 3). We are both members of HOG, and I doubt we will renew that membership.
