I like shopping at thrift stores. The Goodwill store in Willmar, Minnesota is one of the nicest I have been in. All if their items in every category are well-organized, so if you are looking for something in particular, you will have no trouble finding it. The clothing is organized by color/size, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is very pleasant. Carol (the manager) is especially nice. It seems as though that store DOES foster goodwill. :)

"What an ugly, greedy company."- Tam you took the words right out of my mouth! And I can tell all of you up front that its true! I worked for Goodwill for almost 3 years, so I know just how scandalous the company is!

I worked at goodwill Stillwater mn worst place they lie and harass the employees. Some of the supervisors even had employees steal for them. I think I had seen it all most corrupt place I had ever witnessed, I put in my two weeks finished it and they still lied saying I never did. Wow that's all I have to say.

I have never had a bad experience in our local Goodwill store until today. I have donated hundreds of dollars in items to our Goodwill (just last year and have the donation slips to prove it) and I shop there almost every weekend. Today was most likely my last trip to Goodwill and my donations will start going to the local battered women's shelter thrift store in place of Goodwill. I asked the new "Manager" a question about selling me a set of bean bags to me as seperate pieces as I did not need the larger beanbag, I only needed the smaller one. I guess new management means new polices because without hesitation or any discussion to speak of the answer was quickly "no" and "there is nothing I can do". There was not very much "Good will" in the conversation at all. I ended up purchasing the entire set and leaving the other bean bag so they could sell it. I was so frustrated what I should have done was to take the other bean bag and donate it to the battered women's shelter thrift store on my way home. I hope they are happy with the new management. They will not have to worry about my donations nor will they likely have to be concerned about my shopping there any longer as there are many more thrift stores in town to choose from. Goodbye Goodwill.

I come from the Charlottesvile, VA area where most of the goodwill stores have their items priced fairly well. I moved to the Northern Va area, and have visited many of the stores. The prices are so much higher, and a lot of the items are individually priced. What happened to the thrift store pricing? Jeans are priced over $6, and items with original price stickers from stores are being priced at the same price or rounded to whole dollar. I understand some name brand items are worth more, but they have received them "free". Are they trying to make us think we are getting a better deal? Their outlet stores seem to be a better deal at .59 cents a pound. At least the customer service from store to outlet is the same. You get what you pay for some say. I think Goodwill should look into cutting every item price in half. Also, getting staff that don't have attitudes would be a plus! A lot more people in this countries need jobs. If you don't like yours, GET ANOTHER. The paying customer doesn't want nor need to hear your complaints, we have our own.

I saw on March 29 2012 that they stealing in Niagara Falls Goodwill ON, they were taking lot of stuff to the truck and one woman was taking lot of begs people who works there are stealing a lot, there is nothing to buy but people who works there are dishones and not worted to work there, plese sent some investigator there after 9 pm, lot of good stuff goes home with goodwill workers, shoper

Reading all the thoughts of others about Goodwill totally made my day. I thought it was just me feeling the same way, glad to see others agree with my complaints as well. I honestly thought that Goodwill was a store that helped those who were less fortunate buy items they couldn't afford brand new. Yet you find that their prices are higher than the shopping malls prices. What an ugly, greedy company. And the worst thing is their managers, and workers. They really have no customer relation skills what so ever. Not to mention their return policy, which is nothing can be returned even for an exchange. No wonder their shelves are so high and nothing new is coming in, they can't get rid of it due to the higher pricing now. When you do write to complain, they just send your e-mails to the store you had a gripe about and you never hear a word back. I can't wait till the day comes when they get their feet knocked out from under them and go bankrupt. They deserve everything they get cause somebody out there will have enough pull to file a report on them for being fraudulent and lying to the government. Guess I just might give my news station a call and ask them to dig into the companies assets and find out just how they really do give back to the community. I say maybe everyone should call their news stations on the last day of March. That gives all the readers a chance to bond together and hit them all at once. Goodwill you are such a greedy company that lies and doesn't help others as you claim. Your fore fathers did, but you just got too damn greedy. And that will be the closure and downfall of your company. As the old saying goes, what goes up must come down, and all goodwill things will come to an end lol. To all who read this, I say lets put them out of business. There are far too many others that we can donate our things to. And far too many resale shops and thrift stores to shop at. You all deserve much better than Goodwill, so be strong hold on to your wallets and force yourselves to go else where. God bless you all who got taken by these greedy thieves. Don't worry, once the news media and enough complaints are heard, the doors will shut forever. And their buildings that are left behind will hopefully be owned by true thrift store owners at reasonable prices. Lets do this, call your news stations on the last day of march 2012, asking them to investigate. Let them know about this web page, and lets just see what happens. Spread the word people, we can make a change. One for all and all for one. And Mcscrooge that was the most hilarious thing I read not to mention great idea. Lmao

Frustrated with the Goodwill! Ever notice any antique or good quality furnishings in the store? No not really and that’s because as I had suspected one of the sorting Volunteers’ told me the other day that they themselves are getting first choice of good stuff before it makes it onto the floor for resale. They are clearly picking out specific types of items to resell for a profit for themselves over the net. The volunteer also mentioned specific items are stock piled for a few outside people/bulk buyers who pick up the items in volume and give the volunteer cash as a tip for horden it for them. Makes me sick….. Guess one could really make some money as a volunteer if you like to cheat the less fortunate looking for a bargain.

Been shopping at Goodwills forever. That is until now! My kids and I used to enjoy looking through Goodwills for deals on clothes, since they out grow them so fast, and other cool things. Well lately it seems that out local stores on Gilbert and Guad road has been taken over by illegals. I almost got into a fist fight because this family of illegals trying to horde anything worth while. They use their kids to block areas while the parents horde stuff into carts. So I walked past the kids and the fat short bald tatted up dad start telling me I cannot look at the isle!?! I just ignored him until he tried getting close and talking crap in spanish. So being that I am my self american of mexican decent I told him in spanish I know excatly what he was saying. If he has any issues maybe we should call the local sheriff. He looked pissed, but turned around. I have seen him and his family there almost everytime I have gone. Even told the manager that if she went to the back to the furniture they are swithing prices on stuff. She replied, what can I do about it?!? Thanks for nothing goodwill.

i live 2 miles from a goodwill in tucson arizona i usually buy my boots there because i have a disability that causes me to drag my leg so i need new boots every 30 days or so, we have a yearly rodeo that comes to town and now that they are back boot prices have literally doubled if not tripled. if i could afford to spend upwards of 50 dollars a month on boots i would buy them new just because its rodeo week anything "western" (ie work boots cowboy boots belts and such) is priced like i was shoping at the boot barn its nice to see a company try and take advantage of its weekly customers to make a couple extra bucks on on people who will be gone at the end of the month at the expence of its local community.

HUGELY disappointed. I have been shopping at the Goodwill on on North Lamar in Austin, TX since 2007 when I first moved into that neighborhood. On & off, your team has hired some wonderful associates. However, lately the customer service has really been lacking. I visit this location multiple times a week because my fiance and I both have huge families. We each have siblings and lots of cousins. Normally, I am able to find adorable clothes to share with my family members. I shop with the comfort of knowing I have 14 days to return to any location for an exchange should the product not fit correctly. Yesterday evening, I had a cart full of merchandise to purchase and a bag of clothing with the coordinating receipts and my return was denied. For whatever reason, a sales associate (Who is CONSISTENTLY one of your hardest workers) had charged me for children's tops rather than women's tops. I'm sure it was an accident as I remember that shopping trip very well. It was an extremely busy day and I'm sure he felt rushed. From what I can tell, he picks up a lot of the slack at this location and always has a positive attitude. Rather than understanding the situation, the supervisor on duty said she was not willing to "risk her job" to take back merchandise. When I pointed out to her that if I had been charged a lesser price because they were "children's tops" and that her store would make MORE money off of re-pricing my return, she just looked at me like she couldn't comprehend what I had just said. After that, I told her not to worry about the tops because I understand working for corporate retail. I went on to ask if I could PLEASE exchange merchandise that I bought from the Goodwill in the Tarrytown neighborhood. She started laughing at me and said, "Tarrytown? Really?! What's that?!" And I explained that it's a neighborhood west of Mo-Pac near Exposition Blvd & Lake Austin... which is the street the Goodwill is on. She laughed again and grabbed my receipt which of course had the address on it and just stopped talking. She wasn't willing to take back a shirt that was charged as a "long sleeve boutique dress shirt" because I referred to it as a blouse... And when I pointed out that there are multiple names for that style of shirt, she just got huffy with me. THEN, with the same blouse she said she would take it back if the plastic tag was still on it...? There was never a plastic tag on it to begin with...?! I'm not sure what the lady is so upset about. I trust that Goodwill is a great corporation which is why I love to donate & give you my business. Perhaps she is just so insecure that she can't properly supervise a store and provide AT LEAST mediocre customer care. With all of that said, I was extremely sad to leave the treasures I had found on that shopping trip behind. I just couldn't justify giving this woman my money after the way she had treated me. PLEASE do something about the way your team handles customers.

HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF ANY THRIFT STORE. I TRAVEL A LOT AND HAVE RECENTLY NOTICED THAT GW'S PRICES HAVE REALLY ESCALATED. THE MERCHANDISE IS SO CROWDED TOGETHER AND HIGHLY PRICED. WOULD IT NOT BE BETTER TO SELL MERCHANDISE CHEAPER , GET RID OF EXCESS MERCHANDISE,AND LURE MORE CUSTOMERS? I HAVE DONATED ENOUGH TO KEEP ONE STORE RUNNING FOR A GOOD WHILE. I HAVE HEARD SO MANY PEOPLE LEAVE SAYING THEY WON'T BE BACK. I AM ONLY ONE PERSON BUT I THINK I SPEAK FOR A LOT OF SHOPPERS. CAN ANYTHING BE DONE? I KNOW YOU WON'T LOSE SLEEP OVER MY ONE LITTLE LETTER BUT NEITHER WILL I BE BACK UNTIL PRICES ARE LOWERED.

The managers and employees in my local Goodwill are great, helpful and courteous but I left there today for the last time. I'm fed up with the price hikes on everything. I've been a faithful customer for many years and a donate regularly as well, but no more. I use to leave with a cartload of stuff a couple times a month but now leave empty handed time after time, so I'm not going back. Today I picked up a small 6" iron skillet, turned it over and saw a $20 sticker on the bottom. Needless to say I put it right back on the shelf. Glass items chipped, cracked and high prices on things with missing pieces/lids etc. Their new tactics such as splitting up a set of something (dishes for example) and pricing each piece individually to make more $$ is insulting. Previously sets were placed in a box and a price for the whole set was fair. The execs must think they'll make more $$ but really what they're doing is alienating and losing people who've been long time customers and have spent a lot of money with them over the years. I've visited stores in nearby towns to see if it's the same and it is. You just lost yourself a very loyal and regular customer.

My mother and I were in the Mineola Tx Goodwill yesterday shopping and we had seen two pairs of heels hanging up behind the counter. I ask the worker how much they were and she replied "$49.99." NOW, these were name brand shoes, but they also were donated (AKA FREE). I shop at department stores Macys, Dillard, Louis Vuitton and such places as that, as well as second hand and boutiques. I love shopping no matter where! I love getting deals. I donate items ALL the time as well (name brand), but I also liked to shop at Goodwill...until yesterday. This pricing problem has been going on for a while now and I have emailed Goodwill once before about this. This manager goes online to see what it is worth online and then marks the item. If it's at the Goodwill, a purse is a purse, shoes...shoes, a necklace a necklace and should be marked as such. NOT what it's worth online or in a store! I am so very tired of seeing used items marked for what you can get it for in a department store. I saw yesterday a replica Prada purse that the manager had behind the counter marked way up. She was saying it was a real Prada and another worker was going on and on about it. A lady bought it right then thinking she was getting a authentic Prada. That is against the law. If the workers do not know how to tell the difference, then they have no bussiness doing that. If I catch them doing that again, I'm making sure I have witnesses and will call the police. I am not the only one that feels this way in Mineola. We are all very tired of and feel as though Goodwill is price gouging its customer's. That is so sad for people less fortunate. Goodwill has gotten crazy with the pricing of used items. If I do not see price changes in Mineola I will stop donating my clothing, purses, shoes ect and start consigning them at a consignent boutique and will no longer shop at the Goodwill. I use to enjoy it! Not anymore! Mineola Goodwill is losing customer's. Sincerely Sally

Really a (0) star.I was in the "new" Goodwill store in N. Myrtle Beach SC and the cashier ripped, not cut the price tag that was on a dress that I was buying. I asked her why she did that and she said it was policy. Everything with a price tag has to be taken off. Now I have been a Goodwill customer for years and have always seen price tags on some of the items. She said that ALL Goodwill stores has to be the same.......OK, if they are all the SAME then why does one store, Goowill in Little River have a different day (5)as their half off item and the Goodwill in Myrtle Beach have the day (4) as their half off for this week? Also...If all Goodwills are suppose to be the SAME....Then why does the Goodwills in Greenville, Anderson, Simpsonville South Carolina have different pricing and a different way (the colored plastic thingys that are attached to the clothing) to use as half off items and they don't use a customer card? Oh yeah, that reminds me, The Goodwills here in Myrtle Beach don't put the clothing on half off only things that could be half off are housewares.....Shoes don't even get a half off. Then I watched some of the Goodwills on Sat and Sun and see a clerk walking around with a cart putting all the items they see on the shelf that would be elligible for the half price ie: number (6) into the cart and take them to the back room. Then you look around and see some of the numbers have been changed to another number: (1) to a (2). You would be surprised at the detail that they go into to just change a number 5 to a 6. I knew Goodwill when it was just providing for the poor. Really, that is why the store was 1st started, TO PROVIDE GOODS FOR THE POOR PEOPLE. Now you have to be rich to shop there but guess what, the rich will go elsewhere. Thanks for the vent, I know it will go no further than here, but I do plan on moving my shopping to another venue. Goodwill needs to come down off that High horse. Oh yeah, THAT CRAZY BELL. WHY? Honestly....Just bring the crap out, and leave...don't ring a bell. If the people want to see it, they will,,,, You are just causing a bunch of "vulchers" to hang out at your store all day pushing and shoving other customers around. SAFETY ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!

the store at 2100 altamesa inm fort worth texas is horrible tried to contact a supervisor or a headquarters no luck i thought they connot sell without a tag after waiting 15 min in line both lines had 1 customer but i guess they were friends so the clerk kept wispering to another and both kept looking at me i ask if there was a problem they said no i asked do u have a manager they said no got very rude i will never shop there again

I have been to the Goodwill in Indianapolis, In on 30th and Shadeland and the management is horriable, the managers talk to there employees any kind of way, and talk about them behind there backs on the sales floor, discrimination, and very bad customer service skills, the store is a mess, and there were staff that were drunk and used drugs and it was painfully obvious!! I hope the corporate office does something about this matter because it is an embrassement to the city of Indianapolis and to all managers that work had for this company. A very cconcerned customer

i am a regular shopper with goodwill in rocky mount nc. I enjoy it very much, but I have a concern about one of the managers. He goes on the internet to see how much things sell for and thats how he prices it, I was in there today and was very upset when i saw this vase that was nice it was priced @6.00 which wasnt bad until i look under the bottom and the tag from the original store was still on it 6.99 was the price, sorry but if this stuff is donated then that cant be the way they should price items, i plan to file a compliant with the BBB and sad to say they just lost my business, their prices are out of control now since he started working there. Sorry but it is what it is...

I did shop at the Goodwill store in Covington, Va. They have put up large air fresheners all over the store to which I am highly allergic to. I have been into it with the Roanoke, Va. office about them. They admitted they had had other complaints about them in their other stores. After begging that they remove them they agreed to take them down for 45 days to see the need for them. After the 45 days they turned them all back on. Everytime I go in there I go into an allergy and then bronchitis and then that calls for a trip to the doctor. I stopped going weeks ago but did go in this past sunday wearing a face mask but even that didn't protect me from the horrible overpowering smell. I was sick by monday. In the past months I have talked to some employees who say they bother them also. The Roanoke office was responding to me by email but now they just ignore me. I read an article on Web M.D. and people are actually starting to sue places like this for allowing these scents to make people sick. You'd be surprised at the no. of people who have allergies to scents. I can no longer shop at the stores in Southwest Va. due to these horrible things. I always bought all our clothes and household supplies there and I truly loved shopping at your stores but no more. I have no health insurance and I can't afford to run to the doctor everytime I go into one of your stores. Hopefully since the main office in Roanoke, Va. just ignores my pleas now this posting to the corporate office will help. Thank you for your time.

I wouldnt rec Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina to ANYONE FOR EMPLOYMENT. I was with goodwill for over 2 years. The only people that get treated HALF way decent are the disabled employees. Which, I do miss them. But, other then that there training is useless because they train you on one thing and do the complete opposite. If you see something going wrong and follow there suggested steps of correcting it, it will just bite you in the ass. They want you to keep your mouth shut and work like a dog. As a manager you will get paid anywhere from 25-28k salary, so go ahead and count on working 50+ hours a week. There so focused on there employees stealing they dont even pay attention to the customers that come in everyday and do so. They do alot of inside job promoting without posting them to offer it to the people that want it and deserve it first. They have a few pets, that can do no wrong. As a manager you are told the policy is to mark FURNITURE HALF PRICE EVERYDAY but, its not done across the board which causes conflict with the regular customers that travel from store to store. There jewelry jars, they are now having all stores seperate the gold and silver and send it in to corporate. Yet, they dont even provide anything for testing the metals. They scan all there books in the back before bringing them on the floor to see if there is any worth to them. MAN I COULD GO ON FOREVER AND EVER. MOST OF ALL IM GLAD I GOT OUT OF THERE MONTHS AGO WHEN I DID. IF YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT, TO BE EMPLOYED BY THEM, TRY TO MAKE IT TEMP AND GET THE HELL OUT!
