This has been the worst day of my life in dealing with Farmers Insurance company. They added a 1000.00 deductable to my policy which no one knows why or what it is for and without my knowladge. The damage to my roof came to 937.00 dollars just short of this "new" clause and I was told to take my foot and press the shingles back down, that should fix the problem. Stay away from Framers Insurance !!!!!!!
unethical
I canceled my home and auto insurance with Farmers two months before my policy was to expire. I called my agent, explained that I needed to cancel and was told to email her with the information. I emailed her that day. Two months later I was sent a bill for one month. I called my ex-agent that day and left a message with another agent for her to call me back. She did not, so I called her the next day. She told me that she must not have seen my email and will cancel the insurance. Same thing happened the next month. Now I have been turned into a collection agency and still I have had phone calls not returned and poor no recourse yet. Do not go with Farmers!
cancellation of insurance
These people are crooks! I had cancelled my policy in January 2013 before the expiration date of mid February 2013. Some jerkwad from their corporate office sent me to a collection agency illegally. Under insurance code 673 I had the right to cancel and after that Farmers Insurance duties were over. Luckily I save all my paperwork. What can I can some of these people are just sick when they do stuff like this.
worthless customer support
One agent that was doing a crappy job quit, while the new one (Ryan Wilson), will not return phone calls or even email me the proof of insurance I paid!!! I will be gone in 6 months, but not before I make their lives hell, and get to the bottom of it all...
Where's The Ethics?
We've been unable to properly use our car since March 5, 2013 and will be reimbursed for eight days. How does a does someone driving on the correct side of the road arbitrarily get 20% of the blame when a Bristol West client is cited by the police for driving on the wrong side of the road. Ethical practices? Farmers and subsidiaries do not seem like the companies that made America great. They'll never have my business.
POOR SERVICE AND BAD ATTITIUDES
I had Farmers for several years and the Agent sucks and Customer service sucks...it took me a long time to finally change companies, because it is a big involvement to look at all the criteria and information. I was entitled to a correction of my charges and asked the Agent in writing to refer me to a Supervisor in the Corporate Offices to get the billing corrected and the next time I heard from them 3 weeks later....it was from a collection Agency. I have asked another Agent to help me and she never got back to me and have called the Corporate Offices and was disconnected while on hold for a representative. I have switched Companies and do not know how much aggravation I am looking forward to having to get my bills with Farmers corrected!!!
state farm may be there - Farmers, not so much
very difficult to get through to my Farmer's office - out of every ~10 calls I make, I get through once. Some of the ladies - when you do get through are very helpful - one gentleman... ...not so much. Maybe when I get through again to tell him I did have the right policy number, he will be able to find it. I like Rick a lot, but getting through to the office is very difficult.

it doest matter how far we all go to the Justed, cause the insurance company pay the goverment to stay on their side.all the insure company have the same rymth of pocket picking.
Where's the Service
I've had Farmers for aprox 6 years or more, I don't know why I've stayed with them. I've had 4 cars, two motorcycles and 2 homes all insured with them at once. I would think they would want to keep my business. They are rude, don't return phone calls, and make claims a nightmare. My agent sends me e'mails to rent his vacation home in Florida, are you kidding me, he uses his clients e'mails to promote his vacation home!! I was frustrated today and called my agent to ask why no one has called me back on my claim to fix my truck on a claim that was put in 3 months ago, she said she didn't appreciate my tone and its not her job to help me with my claim!! Seriously!! I am in the process of looking for another insurance company. I would never recommend Farmers!!
Lousy costumer service
These people are good at making a poor policy seem like a good deal because they do not explain the pros and coons of the life ins policy. I would not recommended.Farmers Ins to anyone.
big problem with farmers
Farmers Insurance - they charged me six months of additional mileage because I did not fill out the yearly mileage statement. An additonal $61.00. When my car got stolen, I cancelled the policy, I had paid for six months so when they gave me the refund they took the whole six months and refused to return the unused portion of that additional mileage fee. the new policy was only in effect for 1 month when I cancelled the policy. I would never use Farmers again
horrible people
I switched to farmer's insurance because they gave me a great quote I have a couple of points on my record and I was quoted $136.00 for full coverage including road side assistance but my first bill came to $185.00 then its been getting bigger every bill cycle and I keep calling every week because they promised they would fix it but no one calls back they are lie just to get u in then they case ur rates like crazy and say its your fault I'm switching
Being fair on liability
I was recently in a minor collision in a private parking lot. Both statements on each party involved were submitted and reviewed. My statement in my defense I feel is accurate. The statement made from the other party involved is from the guardian due to the young man who was involved in the collision is a minor. The guardian, mother, is not allowing her son to speak on his own behalf and has now given statements using her own terminology on what might have happened. Which is more than likely not accurate due to not being from the exact person who was in the collision. Now due to her statement the person liable is now myself. A photo assessment was done on my vehicle, not in person. And no assessment on other vehicle involved has been filed. I feel that farmers insurance has not done the complete job of truely finding out what happened and who is liable. I feel that an unfair decision has been made and I will move to dispute it.
We are changing to other company!
Recently our agent retired and our policies were sent to not just someone we don't know but out of our county. Transfer to an agent in our town was huge mess - it took almost 4 months with multiple canceling and changing the policy numbers which left us all confused! The problem is beyond local agents. We now use Geiko for auto, and thinking to change to AAA for home.
Agent Jae Cho poor customer derive
I just received an $450.oo increase on my auto insurance due to me adding my wife and son to the policy according to Insurance agent. My son received a (ticket) moving violation. However, he fails to notify me about the chance. He eligibly informs me when I show up to my scheduled appointment. He states that I did not drop my son from the policy in time. In addition, he had a poor attitude when I asked me questions pertaining to the crease like it was my fault. I had to excuse myself form he office and let my wife handing the policy because I could feel the tension in the room coming form him.

forgot to thank goodyear as it was their rep. that damaged my car. and they are easy to pass the tire. from one company to the other to place or opt out on blame. Unethical behavior thanks. passed off the tire of shame. thanks to a leased vehicle. minus rating on both
Stung by Farmers
I called to file a complaint about an agent and they gave me the state number for the office that I am in. I called the state office and they are being most helpful. Will see how the state office deals with the matter and that will help me with the decision to switch to a new agent at Farmers or just change insurance companys. It will help me also to decide whether to file a complaint with the insurance commission and the better business bureau. Everything hinges on whether the state actually follows thru or continues the smoke blowing like the agent.
Disappointed
I have had Farmers Insurance on my rental duplexes since 1961 and have a fine agent. I recently moved into a senior village but kept my properties in California. I had auto pay from my bank account on the two policies. Since I no longer live in one, the agent told me Farmers does not allow auto pay from bank if you do not live in one of the units. So I will be forced to get a new policy because I do not stay home much and might be out of the country when the bill arrives. What a stupid ruling because I have kept the same bank account in California just to take care of paying all bills direct. Hope some high management person sees this and will get a change in the rules which are most unfair to the agents and to the away customers of many years.
