The store on Airway in Dayton Ohio doesn't honor the prices in the dollar general advertisements.. Morons! I won't be shopping there anymore. Before you put sale adds out maybe someone from Corporate should teach Dave how to read..I wasted my time...and your right I did save money... Because I returned the everything I bought and got my $94 dollars back. All because u have a Moron running your store! Thanks for nothing.

December 1 2010 i went to Family Dollar with my 3 year old daughter and 9 year old son. We walked in and it was a little busy. My kids were a little excited to be in the store with all the chistmas things. I was over at the back of the store where an employee was stocking, it was a elderly lady and my kids had found 2 balls they were trying to show me when the old lady looked at them real hateful and told them to put the balls up and not to be bouncing the balls in the store. I looked at her and i didnt say anything but i was thinking why didnt you speak to me and not my children. Any ways i finished shoping and was at the cashier and i told my son to get his sister we were about to leave. They came over and my 3n yaer old was crying and wanting some gum she was a little sleepy so she started to scream, I was trying to pay for my items and get out. All of a sudden here came the old lady to the front. They was a long line wating to check out instead of the lady helping the other one she walks by me and over to my daughter which was about 20 feet from me and and says something to her it scared her because she came running toward me. I was furious. I ask her what she said to my daughter and why didnt she speak to me. She ignore me and went behind the register. I asked the lady if she was her supervisor and she said yes. I ask for the corperate office number and the old hag turns around and says go to family dollar.com. I was livid but i left and came home and went to the web site. I can not believe at all the low complaints that family dollar has on here. I will not shop anymore at the Winder, Georgia store ever again. If that old hag doesnt want to be there she needs to give her job to someone that wants it and if she dont like kids she doent need to be working in a store were kids come to. I will write my story here and in the local newspaper. I really want to bust her in the face but that want take care of how i feel. She really dont need to be there.

I went to my local family dollar yesterday afternoon on scarsdale. I've had my problems there before with the employees, but never as bad or ignorant as this visit. My problem was simple I purchased a few items with my debit card and food items with my food stamps. I noticed on my receipt that not all of my food items were covered by my food stamps which is normal to me as the food stamps holder I get that alot at every store, they all have regulations on the items accepted by food stamps I tried telling this employee the information I knew she didn't seem to know anything she assumed since it was food it's covered. She got really rude, loud, irritated and annoyed she wanted me to go away because she didn't know what she was doing or how to fix the problem. I was not about to over pay for her not knowing. She finally shut her mouth refunded it back to my debit card and in her face it went thru. All that I had to deal with her bad attitude in the end I was right didn't even get an apology just her co-workers smart remarks completely uncalled for. This employees need to know there store regulations and know that the computer is not always right!!!!

I was in your stupid store today, and could not get down any of the isles as they were full of empty boxes shopping carts. Oh, by the way I am in a wheel chair and am an Accessibility Advocate. When I asked the manager to move a box of empty torn down boxes my reply from his I can leave them on the floor for 24 hours. I was with my husband and he (the manager) said you have not been in our store forever why are you here now? I told him I am here to shop he commented back we liked it when you wre gone. He then told me he was calling the cops on me and told my husband to remove me from the store. And he kept telling me I had to leave I told him I want to see you and who's army is going to make me leave. He is so lucky that he did not get my fist in his mouth. If this is how you treat me then expect to get it back only double. I am not going to tolerate this action for me nor anyone one else with a disability. So be warned I am now filing a Title 1 and Title 2 complaint with the Dept of Justice who enforces the Americans With Disabilities Act. I am not only doing this as an advocate but a customer this is not the first time I have filed a complaint with your store and I can tell you it may not be the last time we will see what you say when I involve someone from the government level. If you do not repsond to this or the phone message I will keep calling until you do and then you will not be happy at all as I will keeping a record of every call I make. And your employees Suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where did they get their personality training from Oscar the Grouch. You have made the wrong person mad that is all I am going to tell you. The ball is in your court play with as you see fit but I think you want to play by my rules it will be much better for you. Any one else have had these issues please do not let them bully you or let you think you are wrong you have rights just as they do and stand up to them and call the Dept office and file complaints they will get the hint when they have to have the store closed down because someone gets hurts there.

Thanks alot! Charging $1.00 for using my debit card is just plain wrong. I shop at your store at least once a week, not any more. Your making alot of money, so suck it up and stop charging extra for this service.

I was just in the Family Dollar in Dearborn Hgts, Mi it’s a new store that just opened on Van Born Rd and the manager was so awful to the employee behind the counter. A customer came in with a $50 bill for a $2 dollar item; the cashier told her she could not accept the $50 bill for a $2 dollar item, store policy. Well she called the manager over and told her and she made the cashier look like an AZZ, I was embarrassed for the girl. After she let the girl go through, she told the cashier real load and nasty "count the money back to her". The 2 girls started laughing and they all thought it was a big joke. Job or no Job I would have told her where to put it!!!! I will NEVER go back to that store again!!!! The manager needs training on how to treat her employee's.

The Family Dollar Store in Vevay, Indiana has one of the worst cashiers/employees I have ever ecountered. Her name was Rhonda or Rhoda and she was rude to my children, sister and grandmother. I do not think Family Dollar has any idea of what kind of person they have hired? The reason I say this is I have seen this woman working in numerous other jobs of every title that you could possible think of throughout the county. But, the norm seems to be that she never works longer than 2 to 3 weeks at one job. In reading the many other comments by other customers of the Family Dollar stores throughout the United States, I see that there is many complaints of employees that work for this franchise. I have always shopped at Family Dollar stores where ever I am. I make a point even if on vacation to find a Family Dollar, but I am beginning to think that the Family Dollar company as a whole may not really care about their customers input or their customers feelings. I for one do not want to go to a store that treats the elderly and children UNPLITELY/RUDE!!!!Thank you for your time!

Today when visiting the Family Dollar located at 1301 E Fayette St Baltimore, MD 21231 store number 5647, I witnessed several poor judgment calls by the Manager AL and awful customer service. The reason I shop at this store is because I work walking distance for the store. My organization serves the people of this community, performs policy advocacy for it residents, and works alongside the communities major institutions. Upon entering the store the two open lines were extremely long. A group of African American male students from the neighboring high school were in line. Also, this high school is one of the most prestigious in the city. Once they completed their purchases they stood and waited for their friend to do the same. The Manager Al, choose not to open an additional line to expedite all waiting customers, instead he stood with a watchful eye on the group of young men. These men waited quietly and patiently. Their behavior was exemplary; no profanity, horse play, soliciting, loud or aggressive language. The manager approached the students, told them they could not wait in the store and to go outside. I waited for the line to die down and asked the Manager Al if I could speak with him. Without turning around to face or look at me, he responded “Yeah”. When he responded I was not sure if he was speaking to me or someone else. So I asked him if he was speaking to me, he replied “ Miss what do you want?”. At this time I entered into an appalled state of shock. Watching the manager in disbelief and dismay I proceeded to ask him why he asked the young men to step outside. He replied have a good day. I then asked him what his name was and for his managers information. He walked to the other register and then yelled at me “AL and his supervisor is name Al”. I asked what his last name was and he informed me he had no more time to deal with me. This type of service is unacceptable! No manager or associate in customer service should ever disrespect someone patronizing the company. Also, no business should treat any person regardless of age, sex, religion, race etcetera like a potential criminal. I am invested in this community and neither Mr. Al nor this store values the business of this community.

im a regular customer at Family Dollar. I went to the family dollar on fondren and west belfort on Nov 16 at 7:10pm in houston,texas. I couldnt believe what i saw and heard. I walked to the counter to purchase whay i was getting and the cashier was sitting talking on the phone on a personal call and told me to hold on and finaly when he came to ring me up he was still talking on the phone and saying bad words to whomever he was talking to. And finaly a woman came from the back and stood up there eating and sharing food with the security guard. I felt so odd in that moment. I feel customer service should step up.I realy dont know if i will still shop there. I dont use profain words. It each its on how they talk. But there is allways a place and time Nd work shouldnt be it.

I AM A REGULAR CUSTOMER OF FAMILY DOLLARS IN TUSCALOOSA, AL.. RECENTLY A TRACFONE T105G/LG100 BUNDLE WAS ADVERTISED ON SALE FOR $8.00. THE SALE WAS GOOD SUN., OCT 31 THROUGH SUN., NOV.7, 2010. I MADE MY PURCHASED ON NOV. 1ST. THE ADVERTISEMENT STATED THE BUNDLE PRECISELY INCLUDED DOUBLE MINUTES,A $24.99 VALUE, NO CONTRACTS, NO BILLS, NO DAILY OR MONTHLY FEES, HANDS FREE HEADSET, PHONE CASE AND CAR CHARGER. THERE WERE PICTURES IDENTIFYING THE CONTENTS INCLUDING A PICTURE OF A 60 MINUTE TRACFONE MINUTE CARD. I CALLED TO HAVE MY PHONE ACTIVATED AND WAS ASKED FOR MY 15 DIGIT PIN # AND 5 DIGIT PROM CODE. I THOUGHT THET WOULD BE LOCATED ON MY SALES RECIEPT. BUT THEY WERE NOT. THE REP. FOR TRACFNE ADVISED ME TO RETURN TO THE STORE GET THE CARD AND CALL BACK TO ADD THE MINUTES. I WENT AND TO THE STORE AND TOLD MY STORY TO THE MANAGER. SHE SAID THE PHONE ONLY COSTED $8. AND THE MINUTES SOLD SEPARATELY. I SHOWED HER THE SALES PAPER, AND SAID THIS IS NOT WHAT THE SALE PAPER ADVERTISES OR THE PACKAGING THE PHONE WAS ENCLOSED IN. SHE HAS TO HONOR THE ADVERTISEMENT. IF NOT, THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. SHE REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE MINUTES, CLAIMING SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE AUTHORITY. I HOPE THIS WASN'T A SCHEME TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS. I KNOW I AM ENTITLE TO RECEIVE MY MINUTES. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING TO ME. I PLAIN TO PURSUE THIS MATTER INSTILL I RECEIVE ALL THAT I PAID FOR. I HOPE YOU WILL INSTRUCT YOUR EMPLOYEES OF THE IMPORTANCE OF HONORING THE LANGUAGE OF YOUR ADVERTISEMENTS OR YOU COULD LOSE A GREAT MANY OF YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMRES AS A RESULT. I know that the spanish have taken over everywhere, however I still believe as do many others, that it should be in English FIRST!,all other languages here in Texas second!. Please check your marketing area's and send the spanish advertisements ONLY to the ones you KNOW for a FACT to be spanish!. Just because we are inandated on the Northside of Houston, doesn't mean that everyone in the zip code of 77039 wants OR can read the spanish only advertisement, we didn't even get two, like one english and the other spanish, NO we only got the spanish one, why is that????!!!. Also why is it that you have converted the sign toppers in the stores to only spanish as well, don't you think the NATIVE ENGLISH speaking customers want the same, or should have the ORIGINAL basic language in HOUSTON TEXAS of ENGLISH to be the PRIMARY literature????????? I am enraged because I don't recognize a word of the flyer that junks up MY MAILBOX and DOES NOT have a single word IN ENGLISH!!!!! We DON'T have to learn spanish, we are not in mexico, they should learn ENGLISH!our NATIVE LANGUAGE. I would like to receive the same cost savings as the spanish if you don't MIND!~~~~~

I went to family dollar #5639 and picked up a few things one of them a collar for my dog that only cost $1 but when I went home I noticed the bag had a rip in it. I called the store and they told me that they would have to watch the video and call me back. When they called back they told me their was nothing they could do. I asked to talk to the manager and he didnt want to get on the phone with me when he finally did I asked him to replace the $1 item and he told me that if he did this for everyone he would be out of business. I finally got him to give me what I payed for and as I was walking out the store he said "dont let the door hit you were the good lord split you" I think this is very bad service and dont think Dayle should have a job that has to do with customer service!!!! I will not return!!! Ever!!!!

I HAD TO QUIT BECAUSE THE STORE THEY PUT ME IN WAS STORE AFTER THEY TOOK ME OUT OF 6112.(lol)IS 6853.IT WAS SO BAD. THE SM NAME IS MICHEL PEIRRE. HE WAS THAT TYPE WHERE WHEN JOE OR KENNDY CAME IN. WE HAD TO PUT I SHIRT IN OUR PANTS. TURN DOWN THE MUSIC AND WEAR OUR NAME TAG. I BUST MY CHOPS FOR THAT STORE I KEPT IT CLEAN I DID ALL THE NEXT DAY SHOPPING CART WITHOUT COMPLAINING TO HIM ABOUT. HIM(MIKE) AND THE CASHIER LEAVING OVER NIGHT I CLEAN THE BACK ROOM EMPTY THE DIRTY WATER. THEY LEFT OVER NIGHT. I MEAN I WENT ALL OUT FOR THE STORE. I HAD TO LEAVE BECAUSE,WHEN A STORE MANAGER DO NOT CARE FOR YOUR WELL BEING AND YOU TRY TO TELL YOU D.M OR YOUR PM AND THEY DO NOT LISTENING. WHAT IS THE NEXT THING TO DO? BUT LEAVE. I AM NOT BLAME CORP. IM BLAMING JOE BELLINO AND KENNDY RWOODROF. THEY DO NOT CARE AT ALL. I WENT UP TO YONKER TO RETURN MY KEYS TO THE D.M AND ALL HE WAS DOING WAS LOOKING STRAIGHT AT THE COMPUTER. I have to comment oh 2 stores, one in fayetteville ohio and one in hillsboro ohio first one in fayetteville. A small boy was in the store and needed assistance, the cashier in the store assisted him gladly was very kind. I wish i had her name. The other store is in Hillsboro Ohio in a shopping center. The store was very clean and the girls were very helpful and had a caring attitude. Produts were easy to find. I think all of these people need to be appreciate as to a good job they are doing. I felt very welcome at both stores and will glady go back. I dont remember when i have enjoy both trips. Thats a plus in this day and age. I find it quite absurd that in this deep recession, any company fighting to survive would do all it could to foster good relations and customer service to the the people that choose to shop at your stores. I was at the Tempe, Arizona store on Broadway to purchase some things ... but the line was half way up the merchandise aisle because only one cashier was working. With nearly a million dallars worth of goods in the store, would it not be prudent to spend another ten dollars an hour to have an extra cashier???? Your company stores are short of help and poor in service in an economy where there are millions of people who would love a $ 10 per hour cashiers job! If you want to be a successful, growing and competitive store chain ... then ACT like it! You will lose market share because the service is deplorable ... do something about it! i shop in brownsville at the family dollar on central blvd.the other day the produt on the shelves were broken and they were selling like that.i appoarch the assistant manager about the problem and she said the truck is coming in tomorrow.then i ask to use the rest room and the rest room was broken too.i told here and she kept tslking to her friend about other stuff.that a very bad employee.she shouls care more about the customer cuz you the one who bring them business.i will report this to corp office.i hope they do something about this matter.

i went to the family dollar on southmost area in brownsville tx 78521.they have the pooest customer service thier and thier rest room are relly dirty.merchandise was all over the place.i will call customer service on them.they also have poor management too.they should or i should report this issue to the city about the rest room.it is violate the health code.i should tell the newa cast about this issue too that way everyone in brownsville could know about family dollar not being a friendly store.i think i will do that now

I am writting because I slipped and feel in one of thier store's I have tried to contact them for 5 months and have they returned calls no. Dont shop there they do not care about thier customer's..................
