Just yesterday, my family and I went to Denny's located on 1390 South First Street in San Jose, Ca. It was very late, and yet very busey. We thought we would have to wait to be seated, and wow was I wrong. This very well dressed gentleman by the name of Noe greeted us, and escorted us to our table. He also to our drink order, and brought it to us. That is quick service! We knew they were busey, and Noe took the time to ask us how we were doing. This is.great customer service. He made sure our server took our order quickly, and our food was brought out quickly. It was very yummy!!! We will return to this Denny's, and not just for breakfast! San jose, ca
I was told last night not to return to denys, they found my toothless smile scary, you gotta be kidding me right? no, thats what was said, not toothless grimace, not toothless scowl, they even said it to denote my happiness at the moment before they started in with me. this was the 5525 N SEPULVEDA BLVD, SHERMAN OAKS, CA 91411 location, a franchise, but heres the thing.. if Denny really cared about its name, it would NOT let franchises wreck their reputation in such a way, i would allow none to conduct business in my name in a way i DID NOT approve of, corporate, franchise or whatever.. it is still Dennys, and the reputation carries over to corporate from franchise, think about it. In other words, franchise or not, Dennys did it, said Dennys outside the building. just to Irk the manager paid my 6$ bill with over 1000$ in my hand, and for the FIRST time at that location (yes i eat there often, or did anyways) i actually did not leave a tip. I think we all need to start a class action suit. i can be reached at legal@redroots.org
I was just in Denny's located in Hollywood Fl, last night with my wife and children and I must say that despite how busy the store was the waitress that had served us "Becca" was very professional and in great spirts. Even though we were one of many tables and when I say many I do mean that literaly. I watched this server handle over 40 customers at the same time. I recommend her for management and much more. Not only did she serve my family and my my self with speedy and accurate service she did it with a smile! As she did with all her other tables. The customers all spoke about how great she was. I recommend if anyone in stops in to this Denny's off Sheridan and Hwy I95 to go see Becca. Every time my family and I are in the area we will be in to see her.
My husband and I used to go to the Middletown NY Dennys but havent been there in a few years, so for our 50th anniversary my husband wanted to go there for a steak dinner like he used to do . We took 2 grandkids with us and looked forward to enjoying the night out .1 grandson ordered the steak dinne along with my husband , I had country fried steak w potatoes & gravy which was always my favorite , the other kid had a burger & fries at least his turned out good .the steaks looked like they had been boiled , there was not any sign of them ever being fried , they said they tasted like all the flavor had been boiled from them . I wanted to complain but the guys went on to eat the " food" .Being our 50th anniversary we tried to make the best of it .My country fried steak was so crisp I could not chew it around the edges . My husband ordered apple pie alamode , how hard is that ??? Must be pretty hard since he ended up with apple crisp and caramel syrup . Yup the crisp was so burnt on the edges it could not be chewed ! then we get the bill , this GARBAGE cost us $72.00 ! We should have gone for burgers somewhere else and had some money left after ! We will never ever go there again or any other Dennys .If one is this bad I will not take a chance one another one being any better .
We just walked out of the Dennys on Tropicana and Eastern in Las Vegas NV, at 4:30am after we waited 10 minutes to be greeted. No one ever came to seat us. We walked around the restaurant including the kitchen area. There was no server or cook in the building. We left and on our way out we saw the server standing in the parking lot at their car in uniform. We went to Blueberry Hill Pancake House. Wewill never go back again and the graveyard staff should be fired.
The Alamogordo, NM Denny's is the second worst restaurant I have ever been in (Waffle House somewhere in Arkansas is #1). I like the Denny's menu...that is basically the main reason why I even gave this restaurant a second chance. The first time I was disgusted at the sanitation and attitude of the staff. Then I visited a Denny's in Albuquerque after that which was absolutely wonderful!! So after that nice experience I had a weak moment so I tried our local branch again.... unfortunately the cleanliness took me immediately back to my initial impression of this 'rat nest'.... the ceiling vents were caked with dirt, the tables were not cleared of dirty dishes so even though people kept coming in, they had nowhere to sit unless at a cluttered table. I mentioned to the hostess who kept bringing people in that I know it is probably not her job to help clear tables.... but she actually started to after I recommended the idea. Anyway it took 30 minutes to get our drinks...45 minutes to get the food after ordering...which was all wrong...I was livid knowing that I knew better to give this place anymore of my money. The two times I have gone here I have had to complain to the manager... the second time they sent a represenattive. Bottom-line!!!!!!!! worst dining experience anyone could possibly be subjected to! A change of management or ownership is highly recommended....I oversee five restaurants and would be fired if my restaurants were this bad!!
i dont frequent much restaurants due to careless servers...unseen managers ....and filthy tables and booths ...but on this particular day (last year in may ) i stopped in at this particular denny's 2735 bay area blvd...it was here i met the most kindest, considerate server i have ever met !!!! she was extremely proffesional SHE KNEW HER MENU!!!! SHE KNEW HOW TO PLUS SELL !!!and even though i was so stuffed and there was no way i could eat dessert SHE STILL KNEW HOW TO CONVINCE ME to try it anyway ....what happened to this wonderful lady ??? i have not seen her since ...she worked alone on this day , she had quite a few tables as well but still she held her head high and with the biggest dimpled smile i have ever seen under pressure ...my food was hot the cook was prompt and the manager on duty was visible :) thats a plus for me ...the servers name was ROXY the managers name was crystal and i have no idea what the cooks name was but communication between the cook and server was awesome ....before i close this letter i want you to know one more thing find this server and bring her back please the servers you have now just dont cut it ....i've been there in the morning , evening and night and i see managers doing their work for them ...oh and no other server has offered me an appetizer or dessert recently ..you are losing money that way ..also my friend is a vegetarian and she wanted a bocca burger with seasoned fries ..ROXY knows her ingredients as well she told my friend that she might want to reconsider getting the seasoned fries cause it was made with a meat tenderizer ...so my friend ordered regular fries instead ..i called corporate dennys and asked them if their seasoned fries had meat tenderizer and low and behold it was true ....i am pleased at this particular denny's and i frequent it very often ...and because of this particular server i will continue to come here even though she is no longer here ..
HI we would like to file a complaint abt the Boardman,Ohio store ...# 7402.....We went in to eat and after a very long wait we were advised that a party of 15 came in before us....The young family in front of us had already been waiting 45 mins for their order...The waitress Hope brought out a young manager and said this is the table thats complaining...The waitress was rude and the manager needs to go to school to learn how to work with the public...and to make matters worse we got our food before the young family who was waiting prior to us, questioned the manager about us receiving our order first and the manager advised them that our order was placed first and she would get check to prove it to them....We will continue to go to Perkins Family restaurant....Never have a problem there.....The manager and waitress both had a I don't care attitude not a good thing......Thank _You......330-757-1180

This is not a rating. This is an appeal to your marketing and store development department. Please...Please...have your people consider St Cloud, Minnesota (a busy thriving, active, market in Central Minnesota) for a store...corporate or franchise....no I am not a franchisee prospect....Just a hungry breakfast seeker that believes strongly that this town (100,000 trade area) needs an agressive food marketer like Denny's. Very few breakfast choices here. Look into the potential. It is here.
Hey corporated, i have a big problem, my wife is workin at dennys and nearly everyday she coming home complaining and crying, then i guess one of the managers push her, then it went from that to them takin hours from her, she went from 5 days a week to 2 days a week. she will go in and they ill send her home before any new person, its like their picking on her. the reason i'm writing now is because they have took her oof the schedule for all this week except one day, if i wouldnt have came home from virgina last week we would hve been evicted, because they want to act like ass holes, excuse my language. but we have recorded one of the managers tlking shit so somebody need to get at these people who you have workin because we about to take them or yall to court. the dennys is in ocala, florida west silver spring blvd number is 352 351 2299. please my ife been workin there nearly a year and um tired o dealing with the emotions, i've already talk to my lawyer so this is the last time we trying corporate. joba are already hard to come acroos and hard as times are right now people need their jobs, my wife name is niya.
I was so excited to get a Denny's close to where I live in Waco texas!!!! I used to love going to the one across town. The first few times I went to the "new Dennys," I was very happy, everyone there was nice and courteous, the food was good, and I ended up leaving satisfied all around and in turn left a big tip. However, the last 2 times I have gone, the waitress was SO rude, she didnot ask throughout the whole meal if we needed anything, she did not say your welcome when we said thank you, and she did not fill our glasses up. I complained when I left. I went yesterday at 9:15pm to eat dinner with my children, the same waitress was the only one working....walked up to our table and stood there....never said a word...just stood there looking at us...I finally asked if she was there to take our drink orders...once we finally gave our food order, it took them literally over 40 minutes to get our food....(there was only 4 tables full)...the managers response was somehow the order didn't go through. The waitress brought us more drinks, when our drinks were not empty. I ended up with three full drinks, which is not a good thing with younger children at the table. She brought my young son a cup without a lid, when I ordered a kids meal. I was so angry. I know my 14 year old could do a better job than her. I doubt I will go back.
My wife and I went into the Denny's on Plumb and Harvard in Reno Nv and the first thing I noticed after sitting down was how Dirty the napkin was. At most Denny's, I guess they wrap the eating utensils in your napkin. It grossed me out. Dirt you can see clear as day. I got another!! After eating we went to pay and noticed that the person at the cash register was wrapping the eating ware between ring ups. Now gross is that, handling money, basically wiping their dirty hands on your napkin so you can wipe your mouth...gross. this Denny's Manager was allowing that. In Butte Montana, I noticed the employees running out back for smoke brakes and running right back in and resume cooking everyones food. It is a wonder more people aren't getting sick..or maybe they are. Managers: START PAYING ATTENTION TO DETAILS!!
I went to the Davie Denny's on Univeristy drive in Florida The female manager (who is white) was at the front register/hostess station and as my elderly companion and I approached the seating hostess station she proceeded to ignore us and act as if we were invisible. I told my companion to continue to a table so that she may be seated. She preferred a booth and both were dirty. I then asked the Manager if we could please have a booth and her response was very hostile and rude informing me "the booths need to be cleaned and you will have to wait" I informed her that we would wait. She then walked away and ignored us for a good 10 minutes and I reminded her that we would still like a booth. That is when she proceeded to yell at me and tell me that they were busy and I would just have to wait until someone could come and clean it. I asked for the manager and she said she is the manager. She threatened to call the police and I told her to go ahead and call them so that I can tell them how you treated us. She disappeared we waited an hour an a half and never got served. I am considering a law suit.
I have eaten in several of your restaurants while traveling. I sure wish you would put one in my home town of Morgantown, WV. Thanks
While on a Shop Hop this last week I had the misfortune to stop into Denny's for breakfast. I will give the address to you 11755 Pacific Highway Southwest Tacoma, WA 98499. Restaurant # 7861. I am in hopes that this will not fall on deaf ears. Not aware of the treatment I and my daughter was in for. On entering the restaurant there was no one to greet or seat us just a sign that said seat yourself so we did. We sat there waiting for someone to acknowledge us a good eight minutes when I notices a manager and five ladies standing in the waitress station. Talking to each other and one lady leaning on the managers shoulder. They were having a good time and enjoying what ever they were talking about. After a considerable amount of time I believe the manager ask one of the ladies to come see what we wanted. By now I am upset at the lack of service to the customers. The waitress took our order and was very nice but was not our waitress. Our order was then given to our waitress. The waitress who took the order then told our waitress we were unhappy. Her reply was out of line and very unprofessional. Her response should never had been said on the floor and where the customers could hear it. This was her comment "It isn't like I haven't been busy". Her remark and dirty looks should have been addressed by now the two managers standing there not giggled at. It when unaddressed and like it had never been said. Yes our waitress was busy I will say that for her. However it wasn't taking care of her customers it was doing side work and clearing tables which never comes before your customers. Not acceptable and not good customer service. Shame on you Denny's for allowing this in any of your restaurants. If it is one of your stores you should have more training and if it is a franchise I know if there are many complaints you can pull a franchise I think what should have happened is this. Waitress # 1 took the order and was great. Waitress number two should have thanked the first waitress for her help. When waitress number two was told we were unhappy she should of come to our table and showed some kind of concern. She should be apologetic for our inconvenience and ask "how can I make this right for you". Side work and clearing the other tables could have been done by the managers and other waitress that choose to stand around and talk. This is called team work and is just common sense the better you make each other look the better your customer service is. Everyone gains from this and no one looses. The manager, he showed me nothing as far as how to take care of the restaurant. He knew we were upset and all he could do was put a napkin under the table leg so the table set level. Oh yes he did pour me some coffee. Our waitress never came to the table but once. Never brought our food, refilled my coffee, or brought our check so we could leave. We waited about fifteen minutes for our check. I am thankful to the lady who ask if we were waiting for the check or we might still be there. And I am thankful for her thoughtfulness at the register. She told us she was sorry for our inconvenience. At lease there is hope for one person that works there. I have been a customer service supervisor for twenty-one years and never have I seen any thing like this. There is a lack of training and caring in how you do your job and it shows. If you don't take care of your customer they don't come back and if they don't come back you don't have a job. Or even think how it would be if the place closed because no customers. Think to yourself is this how I want to be treated when I go out to dinner or even to a store. I hope this is not going to happen to some one else and sad to say I know it will. Will I ever go back to Denny's? I don't think so at this point in time. I was totally embarrassed and I know my daughter was as well. It takes a lot to make me write a complaint because I believe you learn from your errors. I this case I don't feel that the management of this restaurant will ever change if something is not said. Thank you for your time. Diana
i have a son that works for dennys thay treet him like poop he started with them when they took over the flying j in nebraskahe is the only white and NOT SPANISH THAY GIVE THE SPANISH ALL THE HOURS HE HAS WORK EVERY HOLLYDAY HE HAS ASKED FOR MORE HOURS AND THAY JUST PASS HIM BYWE HAVE HAD FREINDS GO IN TO SEE IF HIS WORK IS AS GOOD AS UTHER AND IT IS I WENT TO DENNYS IN S.D IT WAS BAD
My daughter is twenty, and was hired at the new Vacaville dennys in 2011. When she showed up for her first day they noticed she was pregnant and from that point on she has been dicremenated against they cut her hours down to one hour a week and when she showed up she was removed from the schedule they are triinng to make her quit she has continually received good tips and all positive response from customers but when it come to the management they have did nothing but make her life miserable. i dont think its right, I feel she should file a discrimination charge with the labor board and get a lawyer, i will protest in front of dennys if she is fired or is forced to quit. So i would not recommend anybody go to dennys for any thing. and do the research they have been breaking alot of discrimnation laws.
Working for Denny's many many years was great except for the last 10 of them. The company used to hire Management with college degrees but not any longer. Now ,even the most ignorant person you know can be a Denny's Manager, thus creating a not so wonderful work place. It was humiliating to even call MOST of them my boss, for they deserved no respect. Imagine the ignorant leading the ignorant. Most employees are from out of the country bringing their own idea of customer service ( which is, quite frankly non-exsistant). The result is a horrific mixture of a melting pot full of hostility. Completley untrained morons running around a restaurant pretending to provide customer's service. I have moved on to bigger and better things and now am employed by a company where your Boss deserves the title. I now have the good fortune to work around EDUCATED people and it is so very delightful. Combative Hostile Embarrasement Degrading = Denny's I Hope Corporate reads this.
Denney's in Avon Colorado is the worst.....it's dirty the managers are nothing but big kids and let the servers run the place. We ordered a milk shake and the menu said it was servered in a glass with a little more in the tin. HA-HA ....All we got was 3/4 of a glass full and no tin at all. When I asked about it, the server didn't even know what I was talking about. I would never recommend going to a Denney's when your on vacation or thinking about it going there ever.....
