We have had ADT for several years and had no problems until 3 weeks ago our alarm system shut down completely and i call ADT for repair. They did send a serviceman, but i dont think he what he was doing or what wrong. Well he said he had to ORDER 1 keypad because he only had one with him. It has been 3 WEEKS since then and all i get when i call ADT is that NO that they have not gotten the keypad in, that THEY WILL CALL US!!!!!! and for me NOT to call them !!!! IT SEEM TO US THAT THEY DO NOT CARE !!!! I have already paid for all of this time that our home is not being monitor. I guess we are going to have to CANCEL our CONTRACT with them. I WILL NEVER REFER A FAMILY OR FRIEND TO ADT !!!!! Why cant they understand that we need our home monitored !! I asked a ADT representative this " if our home gets broken into, who will be responsible since we are paying them to monitor our home and they said they could not answer to that, that we are. VERY...DISAPPOINTED !!!!!!!!!!

ADT sucks! That about sums it up but to say the least, they have these cons that come to install and all they are interested in is making money on the side trying to sell you extra key devices or door tags. I felt manipulted so I checked up on it only to find out that I could have received that door tag for no charge. I told his manager I wanted my 50 bucks back and he could have his stolen property back. Days later, they fired this man who in turn called me at MY HOME and said thanks for having me fired and by the way, I have all of your information because that's how they send us your work orders through our PERSONAL EMAILS. I was floored. This man is walking around with, not just my info (which inlcudes my credit card number) but all of his other installations as well. So, of course, I have called corporate but to no avail...No, one will return my call but someone is going to answer my questions...I don't care how long it takes!

I've been an ADT customer (now I think they go by Broadband Securty) for oer 4 years. I keep them only because of convenience. Alarms service has been very good with very good response times the very few times we had a false alarms. However, each time you make contact with customer service, it seems they are doing you a favor by just talking to you. I had a problem today and I have never had the opportunity to speak with a more rude female customer service agent than the one I had to day. I asked to speak with her spervisor and after 6 minutes on hold. I finally reaslize she was not going to transfer me. ADT has good but pricey services and but their customer relations is at the very bottom. Very nice however when they are trying to sell you a system. I will be looking for a better afforable company with more than 2+ stars for company service.

Terrible custr service. I have had ADT service for over a year and my system has not worked since 3 days after installation!!! They want to charge me 25.00 for someone to come out and fix the issue! Unexceptable.....especially because it has never worked. I have called a total of 4 times because of this same issue!!! Terrible customer service!!!!!!!!

ADT South Africa is the worst team the I have dealt with in 35 years of Corporate senior executive experience. I have found the response people excellent but Sales, Administrative, Operations and Installations Technical absolutely useless. We are cancelling our contract and asking for a refund of monies as we have received NO services to date and have been trying to do business now for three months. There is also no contact details other than the useless call centres to even attempt to escalate. Do they employ responsible executives at all?

This company lied to me from the beginning. They told us once we paid the initial $500+ we would be able to cancel at anytime and had 6 months to get a refund if we were not happy with their system. First we were told they didnt do wired systems anymore, then when we had problems in the first week we were told they would come out for a heft fee ($149). called three more times with the same problem and others we were told the same each time. When I finally got fed up and told them to cancel the whole thing they gave me another number to call and that person told me I couldnt get a refund or cancel without giving them a chance to remedy the problem. I gave them three chances to offer a remedy and they chose not to provide it I told them to pick up their system. Now they are harassing me with phone calls and letters and want to charge me early cancelation fees. What kind of company does this to its customers A LOUSY ONE!

My experience with ADT recently has been horrible. We were having trouble with our system. The motion sensor was not working, alarms saying doors were open when they were closed, panel working on backup battery, key fobs repeatedly stating there was a low battery when new they were replaced etc. We decided to hold off on a tech coming out until a sales rep could come out because we wanted to upgrade our system. The area sales rep did come out and discussed our options. After looking at our system and telling us that it was the worst one on the market we were very disgruntled. He said it would be almost $800 to upgrade and that we would have to sign another 3 year contract. We feel that the installer made many false promises at our initial install. And ever since our account was sold to ADT we have had nothing but poor customer service. Furthermore, I do not understand why it would cost so much to update our system. I see TV commercials and internet ads that allow new customers to get installed for $99 (after the $250 rebate) so why would it cost a current customer over $750? We have been faithful customers for a year and a half now. Is there anything that we can do to remedy our situation? I talked to someone from the corporate office that stated they would follow up on my situation, but have yet to hear anything else.

We were with BRINKS for many years, then they became Broadview, then to ADT. Many years ago we contracted with ADT, and as soon as the contract expired, we went with BRINKS. Brinks offered fantastic service and the employees were great. However, since the change, and having to contract with ADT, we've had the worst service in the country. At least for the past 15 years or so, our monthly monitoring fee was $33.19. Now ADT has come up with a crazy billing system, we've not missed a payment, and in fact the bill was automatically paid by the bank, yet now we've jumped from the normal $33.19 to a rip roaring payment due of $60.40. I've tried conversing with their employees to no avail. In fact the last time I finally hung up on the rude/hateful/nasty woman. I could have argued until I was blue in the face, but she would never have comprehended. I am now filing a complaint with the BBB, and hopefully this problem will be resolved. Doubtful though. Even the technicians that are now employed by ADT, hate it, and they are constantly receiving complaints from the customers. WHY IN THIS COUNTRY CAN'T SOMETHING BE DONE TO THE COMPANIES SUCH AS ADT? I've asked what our penalty would be to break the contract, although we have been with them for probably 17 years, but having to sign a contract for them to repair our system without a charge, we will be penalized for an astronomical sum of about $400.00! Now, is that fair after having a security system for all these years?

adt<!@#> system real bad... never worked properly and the techs are unskilled! they pulled the bait and switch on me. I PURCHASHED the alarm for $435 plus tax paying $42 month which they raised to $47 without informing me. I am in a two year lease renting an apartment in NEW YORK and moving. When the sales rep sold it to me he stated that I only needed to keep it for 6 month's after that I was able to cancel.Anyway after 13 months I canceled and the customer service rep tells me that I owe over $700 in termination fees! That I was in a 3 year contract.....imagine a 3 year contract renting an apartment>>>>>Do the math! I will take them to litagation that for sure!

ADT based on my experience and ADT Complaint Website is responsible for Fraud, Slamming Their customers, and Criminal Behavior. all complain tenants need to contact their local Regional Federal Trade Commission with detail documentary testimonial evidence as well As their state Office of the attorney General, Consumer Protection Division with the same testimonial Evidence such as ADT Contracts,ADT Bills misappropriated, ADT phone calls you tape. ADT HAS TAKEN ADT CUSTOMER PAYMENT HISTORY OFF LINE UNDER THE GUISE OF UPDATING THE WEBSITE. ALL ADT CUSTOMERS NEED TO KEEP DETAIL RECORDS OF ADT BILLING. NO ONE SHOULD ALLOW ACCESS TO THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS. ADT NEDS AN AUDIT BY A FEDERAL AGENCYVAND A NATIONWIDE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT .

ADT well where do I start. I'll keep it simple any company that makes you pay 75% of your remaining contract is not 100% behind there contract. I have only 4 months left and it has been aweful. The system never worked right, had them come out once and fix it, but it was not fixed right. The darn thing beeps all the time in the middle of the night. I finally just turned off the sounds. I can not wait until this contract is up! Please don't bother with this company they are rude and just not nice folks. I'm done with ADT.

I just called to cancel ADT services as I have contracted with a local service not dependent on intact telephone wires to protect my home. I want to say I think it preposterous and extremely bad public relations that billing continues 30 days beyond end of service. And this in a day of instant communication and in a business built on instant communication. Not only do I not receive reimbursement for the 25 remaining days of March; I am also required to pay for six days of April:Another example of the arrogance of major corporations. Consequently should I find myself less than fully satisfied with my new company, Fleenor Security Systems, I will not be inclined to consider a return to ADT.

ADT "Customer Loyalty" is by far the rudest I have ever dealt with. I was trying to cancel a service and was told I would be billed an additional $34.99. I tried to cancel a year ago, but I would have had to pay over $300 to do so. So I waited to call back when their representative told me to do so. I finally had to call the ADT Corporate Headquarters to get the problem resolved. They were extremely helpful and said they would resolve the problem in 24 hours and I should not be billed. We chose this company over others because they were supposed to be rated the best. The system was installed Nov 2011, in Jan 2012 the battery started beeping during hte night, turns out the installer incorrectly put it in and the battery was completely drained. Someone came out to fix it but didn't have a new battery, it was another week until they came back. That was 1/12, Feb 20th it beeped again during the night and next morning I called them again. I was told all techs were at a conference and couldn't come out for a week. AAAH!! Security?? where?? who?? I finally got someone on the phone to actually test the system and it was found there was no communication, in other words the house wasn't being protected. They scheduled an appt for 2/28 between 12-1p and guess what.. I tech called that day and asked what was the problem, he wouldn't be coming but promised he'd be here this week. Uh... it's 2p Friday and still nothing. I might add, prior to all this, my husband had left numerous msgs for the Mgr to contact him about upgrading our system.. he never even returned those calls.. same as the msgs left today. I'm truly sorry we got this system.

ADT IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER BEEN INVOLVED WITH. THEY ARE HATEFUL NASTY AND NOT WILLING TO HELP YOU IN ANY WAY. I HAVE SECURITY CAMERA'S FROM ADT, WHAT A JOKE, THEY DRILLED DIRECTLY THROUGH MY WALL TO THE OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE AND LEFT THE HOLE OPEN AND RE DRILLED ANOTHER HOLE. PUT A PIECE OF TAPE OVER THE FIRST HOLE AND TOLD ME I NEEDED TO HAVE IT FIXED. I ALMOST JUNMPED HIM, THE IDEA OF THIS? WHAT IS THIS COMPANY THINKING??? ARE WE ALL STUPID, I'M OUT, I HATE THIS COMPANY. GOOD HEAVENS I FEEL VIOLATED. HOW STUPID AM I TO HAVE KEPT THEM ON FOR TWO YEARS???? I GOTTA TELL YOU, THEY HAVE TROUBLE READING THE PAMPHLET THAT COMES WITH THE SYSTEM. GET THIS, ONE GUY WHO WAS INSTALLING MY CAMERA'S ASK ME WHAT MY CODE WAS, I ASK WHY HE WANTED MY SECURITY WORD, NO KIDDING HE SAID I MIGHT WANT TO LOOK IN ON YOU GUYS SOMETIME. REALLY? Same ole same ole. Have had false alarms with no response from the monitoring company. Have had trouble signal from one sensor many times sometimes they call sometimes they don't. Now that same sensor has tripped a false alarm twice and it will be 17 days before a technician can come out to look at the problem. They also never kept up with my county alarm permit as my contract stated and I have 75 dollar response fee bills coming from the sheriff department.

Never even had service and being billed. Don't even know where they got the account number. Been fighting it for the last year. I'm posting my complaint to face-book. Think it will reach more people. Same problems as you all have, believe me. Don't even know which corporate office to write to to reach the President of ADT Security Systems. You would hope that he would care. Don't know unless he steps in. Would love to get his email address to send a formal complaint. Going to report to the Better Business Bureau (BBB.org) as well. I recommend everyone with a complaint report them. Nothing is going to change unless we bring it up a notch. But I can't be the only one. They will overlook one letter but if everyone writes it out and submits it they can't ignore it forever.

I ABSOULUTELY HATE ADT!!! I filed a BBB report on them today & won't stop short of the Supreme Court on their injustice. I 1st installed with them in my townhouse rental in 2008, but found me a house in 2010 & called their "relocation" dept. as they told me how convenient they make it for me to move my unit to avoid paying fees for cancelling before my 3yr contract was up. Problems errupted immediately. They had me rip out my unit from the rental & lose my deposit due to the damage, only to show up & say why that unit wan't sufficient enough for the new home & they had a newer model, etc blah blah BS! I fell for it, & lost out over $800 in the process, but 2 months later I realized I was being charged double monthly fees. I called their world's worst customer service & began an ongoing 4 week battle with them that never got resolved, because even though I chose the "relocation" option when I was moving, they stated that I was supposed to put in writing that I wanted to have services stopped at my old address, & otherwise without it in writing, I was still responsible for the account at the rental. How AWFUL!! As a customer, I wouldn't have even known that relocation would create a new account number & the old one would still exist unless you not only tell them you're moving, but put it in writing as well. Now my new dilemma is that I have lost my husband in a tragic murder & moving from our home, but thought that in 2012, my initial 3yr contract with ADT is up, so it's no issues to have it disconnected & move on with my life....not so...they stated that with each relocation, a new 3yr contract is put in place, and so with this move I owe them every monthly payment through 2013!!! I am PISSED!!! Don't use them ever...

If they could get any lower than 1 star, I would have given it to them. We have an ongoing issue with ADT since September. Basically they installed a bad motion detector and they are still making us pay for it. We have since switched alarm companies and I even paid for the darn bill ($225.20 total) with my credit card and won my dispute. I agreed to pay for the service call, but NOT the motion detector. American Express agreed with me and ADT never answered them, so they ruled in my favor. But wait, the story doesn't end happily. I got a freaking bill from ADT for the remaining $170.20. Everytime I call, they put me in transfer hell where everyone tells me they can't help me. I would NEVER recommend anyone to them.

ADT is a very uncooperative company. I have been dealing with ADT since November and they DO NOT WORK WITH YOU. I notified ADT when my mother when to the hospital in November and that the house was alarmed. There were two false alarms in that month, ADT DID NOT CALL THE CONTACT BACKUP PERSONS that were on her account. My mother passed in December and I have sold her house. In the meantime, ADT wants a 30 day notice to cancel services which I did HOWEVER they will start the 30 day cancelation on the day the notice is received, therefore if the mail takes two weeks to get to ADT, it is extended two weeks further out never mind the cancelation date you request. Also, there is a passcode and if you don't have the secret passcode, you will be really out of luck getting any type of help from ADT. As for security for your house, make sure your doors have a dead bolt lock, windows secure and know your neighbors and have your own neighborhood watch. As for the rating..the lowest is 1 star and that isn't even deserved by ADT!! I hope that any future customers of ADT will take a moment to read reviews!!!
