Very dissatisfied with rep, both offices we had to deal with, Managers also. Tried to set up ADT Pulse for our 5 business locations. ADT never came through and finished/corrected the installation. Tried several times, however ADT never completed install and would not answer or return phone calls. We are in the process of canceling service.
Leaving after ten years of service and at two locations....Thanks for the poor customer service now I get the same service and security and pay less. I left a complaint on Craig Bates phone 972-871-3205...never received a call back.
ADT's system was installed improperly by their technician. I did not know it didn't work and every month ADT deducted money from my checking account. My life was, and still is, threatened by a paranoid schizophrenic so a home security system is important to me. I slept better THINKING I had an alarm system. It wasn't until I changed phone companies that I was informed by the 2 phone technicians the system didn't work. They were disgusted with ADT and they tried to talk to them to no avail. Something about the line not seizing and one door had nothing there. If I had not changed phone companies, I would have never known. ADT refused to come install the system properly unless I paid a large service fee for THEIR mistake plus I was expected to eat the nearly $800 monthly service fee I had been paying. I am still expected to continue to pay for no service for the rest of the contract. I honored my contract and ADT was paid and is still collecting. Why don't they have to honor their part of the contract? AVOID THIS COMPANY! THEY DON'T KEEP THEIR WORD BUT THEY KEEP YOUR MONEY FOR NO SERVICE!!!!!! They are STILL taking my money for no service.
ADT shut off our system and did not even tell us, our monthly bill was automated, every month they charged our credit card. no comunication by mail. every month for the last 4 years they charge are credit card with no problems, aug 25 we get a message to call them they need to update our information, so I called back and found out that they had disconnected our ADT monitor system on 8/10/2012 due to unpaid bal of $58 dollars, I just don't understand why they can carge a monthly fee but not the 58 dollars that I belive was, we had a service man come out to our home and install more securtiy, the bill was more than 58 dollars so I don't know how they got it all paid for except for the 58 dollars. They said they sent us a bill through the mail which they sent to our physical address and not our post office box, we do not get mail at our physcial address. They have our phone number they had our email. They did charge our cridit card 8/3 and 8/11 for a monthly service which we did not get plus the 58 dollars did show up on our credit car aug 30, which I am not upset about that if I owed the 58 I want to pay it , but to charge me twice for the month of aug and not get the service is wrong. The people I spoke to were very rude said if I wanted to get my ADT monitor back I had to sign a new contract agreement, well I do not want to do bussiness with people like this.
Im a disatified customer of ADT i had to pay installation twice adt said they forgot to bill me after 6 months i paid the rep that came to my house i paid it again and paid 6 months of service they discounted my service while i was tryin to get the proof over to them then i paid 456.88 then they said i can reinstate my account and evrything would stay the same to find out after i paid it my monthly bill went up from 47.99 to 54.99 when i asked to speak to a supervisor i was place on a long hold and then the phone hung up when i called back they were closed all phone calls are recorded so everything the rep told me adt can verify it their website states 6 month satifaction garanteed if not happy you can cancel with no out of pockects fees hopefully they make this right with me .
I have not had a problem with ADT service. My problem is with the billing. I got accidently charged $250 for someone elses install charges. I understand that mistakes happen but my problems is that it's been over two weeks and no refund yet. That is $250 taken directly from my checking, so I am out cash until they get the chance to pay it back. That is interest free money they are borrowing. It should have been instantly credited back on the card.
05/04/2012, My Mother had services installed from your company, A Technician came in the home and Stole her Watch, When she called the Office that the Technician work out of, she was treated very Rudely and Disrespectful... I cannot believe that a Company that services Many Homes and Corporate Offices would treat or give out Wrongful Customer Service to Elderly Women, This Technician not only has Stolen from My mother, He also has her Code, and ADT has told my mother If they send out another Technician they will Charge her...No where has this company showed any Remores for what has taken place, ADT is this the type of Service you provide?
Forget ant service from Customer "Service". I've been waiting for a refund (cancelled service) and they have been stone walling me for months. I will NEVER use ADT again and neither should you. There are many security services out there who value customers and take customer service seriously.
customer service is less than horrible! I do not have adt, but have had them call me 5 times in two days! The first time I told them I didn't want the service. The 2nd, 3rd, and 5th time I asked to speak to a manager and was hung up on! (i missed the 4th call. just saw it on the caller ID) When I called the number back today, i did get to speak to a manager who told me that i couldn't be sure it was the same company. When I advised him that it was coming from the same number, he wanted to know what number it was. Once that info was given. He tried to tell me it was MY number. When I asked how could i dial my OWN number and be talking to him? He said he didn't know. My wires must be crossed. The ADT staff are idiots in my opinion. and if I ever wanted to switch companies it would NOT be them!
Wish negative stars were available. After paying about $8,500.00 to ADT Security Systems and over seven months later still not having satisfactory completion of installation I will have to agree with the employee John who was fired for wanting to satisfy the CUSTOMER. ADT is only after the dollars. My salesperson and the manager are amazed at the incomplection of my systems. One building has been secured since January 2012 and I am not able to go anywhere because everything is a mess (actually screwed up). ADT has not completed installation but they have all of my money including montering annually. They said I had to pay for another installation just to complete this one. They also said I had to pay for service calls and maintaince was my problem and I PAID FOR MAINTAINCE. ADT said it did not matter that that was just the way they did business. Mr. new CEO, I wonder how long you will really be CEO if you are an upright person with intergity? If you are, my goodness, your work is cut out for you. A ADT person is here now to complete the installation????? but said why not leave that alone. Well, the contract was implemented with certain plans and now it is too much trouble. Besides I need to supply parts, supplies and batteries. What is FULL SERVICE payment for??????? This is going to the Better Business Bureau and other instutions of matter. Why, WHy WHY??? will ADT not take care of customers> One Customer Service Representive said no one ever wrote a good review after their problems were taken care of.. I said maybe their problems are not taken care of yet. I will submitt a review of apporiate nature upon completion of service, installation and fixing of the adt sercurity services systems here. As a matter of fact the contract states '100 percent satisfaction'. How is ADT getting out of that? Please do what is right by stupid customers like me and make a place in heaven for yourself.
I have a recently installed ADT system in my home in Boston. On Aug 11, the installer completed the work and charged my credit card for the balance of the installation and what was supposed to be the initial month of monitoring services. I noticed that it was approx $600 more than it should have been but the amount was already charged. The installer had received that balance due from the billing people and called them back right away while I was there. He said that they mistakenly billed me upfront for 12? months worth of monitoring instead of the 1 month per the contract terms. Billing told him they would credit my credit card. The tech was extremely apologetic and even followed up with me a few days later to see if the refund went through. It is now Aug 22nd, still no refund, and I just got off the phone for the second time with ADT billing. They said I should see it by this Saturday. The billing manager I spoke with called the credit card processing group while I was on hold. She said that ADT's account review and credit process requires this amount of time and there was nothing they could do to expedite it. This was the reply despite my telling her that they took money that did not belong to them and are dragging their feet giving it back. Ridiculous bunch of BS. I am writing to the BBB and the MA Attorney General’s office to complain. I will cc ADT corporate on my correspondence. Based on the list of comments below, I don’t think it will get much attention.
We are very disappointed with the ADT Customer and Resolution Services. We had ADT in 3 homes. We fulfilled our contracts in Worcester Ma. and in PA. We moved to NC and had a system installed there. After 1 year we relocating to RI. for employment. We were contact by DT and told that we had to complete the three year and that we had a (two year) contract to complete. We then received permission from our then LandLord to install an ADT system in order to complete the 3 year contract. We later found out that the installer incorrectly wrote down that we were agreeing to a new 3 year contract instead of that we were actually completing the original one contract from NC. A ADT representative came and reviewed the dates and contract and was able to identify the error. She gave us a number for resolution at the corporate office in FL. We have called and called and only received a busy signal. We have been receiving harrassing calls from a collection agency/lawyer We would like the equipment picked up and our credit clear. It is disappointing that no one is available in the corporate office to assist us. It is apparent that being faithful customers for over 10 years doesn't count for anything with ADT. Our main frustration is that no one in the corporate office has been available to resolve this misunderstanding even though we have tried.
Only gave 1 star because there isn't a lower rating. Just spent a large part of the morning on the phone with ADT, the last 45 minutes of it with CORPORATE HQ in Boca Raton. I've had this alarm for 18 months, and it started going off by itself whenever it felt like it. I had a technician come out, and he charged me $25 to fix the system. Now, it started going off again whenever it felt like it. I won't belabor the point, but 2 days of HOURS on the phone with snotty customer service people who ended up making an appt for 8-9 this morning. Nobody ever called or showed up, so I started with the customer service calls again, the last one who told me "sorry, but we're told we can't spend more than 30 seconds on the phone with anyone, so you either have to get transferred or call back another time!" I called corporate HQ, explained my disdain, and was on the phone for 30 minutes while the guy talked to someone else, then came back and told me during the course of the next 15 minutes this: "we're really sorry, but there isn't anything I can do right now, we have no appts available to help you on the vacation day you took because we told you to be home for an appt we scheduled for you that we didn't show up for, and we can have someone come out in about 2 weeks, and you can cancel your contract if you're fed up with our service, but you do NOT have sufficient complaint for us to waive your 75% cancellation fee that amounts to almost $621." So, the equipment we charge you for every month doesn't work, we can't get anyone out there to fix it when WE make the appt to come to your house, and since you're totally and completely fed up with us, we want to further infuriate you by making you pay us over $600 to go with another company that is local and can provide better service. Oh, and if you decide to take the same time to pay us the $600+ for the cancellation fee that we've taken to fix your stuff, we'll just send it to a collection agency, wipe our hands of you, and get our money any way. ADT actually thinks this is an acceptable way to do business, and apparently spends a great deal of time creating a customer service system to make you just give up and say screw it. You're left to the mercy of the corporate structure, and made to feel like somehow this is your fault. This is by far some of the worst dealings I've ever had with a company, and it's completely unacceptable. NEVER AGAIN!

Is this customer service? What company has the worst customer service? I firmly believe it is ADT security. Last August my wife and I had an ADT alarm system installed in our home. Within 1 week of having the system installed one of the sensors fell off of the window in the middle of the night, causing the alarm to sound. It took several days before a technician came to repair the problem. Since that point the alarm has sounded without cause on at least 3 separate occasions. Recently I was working 2 hours from home and my wife was also at work. I received a phone call from ADT that the burglar alarm had been sounded and they wanted to know if everything was alright. I informed them that I was not home to check and they said they would dispatch the police. As it turned out a sensor on our system had failed to work properly. It has had problems on four occasions since then. We have had to spend over 4 hours on the phone with ADT and still have not been able to have our alarm system repaired. We spoke to a customer relationship manager who was extremely condescending. He happily gave me his phone number and direct extension as well as that of his boss. When I tried to reach him at that number it was a non-working number. It turns out that the individual that is at the highest level of customer service lied to us. So if asked would I recommend ADT as an alarm provider the answer is a resounding NO!
We had ADT come out to go over a new system in our home. Rafael Diaz the ADT consultant explained to us what would appropriately secure our home. He explained the install would take two days. August 7-8th. I then explained we needed the system finished before the 18th of August. On August 7th two installers arrived at our home. The lead tech (Rommi) asked me where everything was going. WTF? I explained your the ADT professional not me. So after spending a half an hour going over the panel, keypad and sensor locations, he asked his assistant "are you ready to work"? The assistant said; " not really I actually feel like taking a sick day today". I looked at the two of them with a discussed look on my face. After hearing that I immediately called the ADT Warwick, RI branch to explain to the supervisor of my hesitation with the two ADT installers in our house. Dennis the supervisor insured me that Rommi was his best tech and that he would be competent to finish the job. At 11:40 the two tech left for lunch. They came back at 1:20pm! That's an 1-10 minute lunch break!!!! Unacceptable!!!! So, after the end of the first day they complained to me that our house was very difficult to wire and maneuver around. He explained they would be finished tomorrow. August 8th; they arrive at 9am to start work. Rommi explains to me that I need my electrician at the house by 1pm to wire the ADT pulse light switch that came with our package. My electrician shows up at 1pm to start the switch install and Rommi proceeds to tell me and my electrician that he also needs to wire the thermostats that come with our aystem's package. I then tell Rommi that they are only low voltage (24 volts) so he can install them instead of my electrician. Rommi tells me and my electrician that he is not aloud to wire anything over 24 volts. Ummm..... The thermostat units are exactly 24 volts!!!! Seems as if he's dodging the install. So I had to step out for awhile and explained to the two of them to work it out and get it done. Rommi then explains that we need to come back to the house at 5pm to go over the system with us because it was to be completed at that time. We arrived. We arrived back home at 5pm precisely and our house keeper had told us that they both left at 4:45!! WTF again!! They never explained what happened nor when they were to come back to finish the system up! After putting in a call to corporate and speaking with Allison the supervisor she explained they would do all they could to get them back to complete the job. So, after waiting another 5 days they finally returned back on August 14th. The new tech's showed up Joel and Andrew. They surveyed the job and explained that Rommi had cut corners on the install and they had to remove and rewire some of his work. He also explained that Rommi had installed our panel and wireless router in the worst space in the house that had NO RECEPTION. This has complicated the whole process of the install. There has been numerous other complaints with reception problems due to the lack of professionalism on ADT's part. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO HAVE A SECURITY COMPANY PROVIDE YOU WITH A SYSTEM AND MONITORING PLEASE DON'T CALL ADT.
We have been ADT customers for over ten years in three separate locations. Fire closed one location .After reopening I met the rep and signed contracts that were monthly payments. But they did not include monthly payments for installation. They will not allow me to pay monthly for installation and want $4,000 paid now or they will shut this one location down. Get this the company now allows monthly payments for installation but will not allow me to use this option. I will now move all three locations to another company. A senior Vice President of the company has made this decision. Not to smart of a person or a company. I cannot reach anyone to correct this. Pretty stupid situation to be caught in. Big companies don't care about reputation or small businesses.
Do thieves work at ADT Security Systems ? A while ago, I called ADT Security Services regarding an ADT alarm system. They scheduled an appointment for a service technician to come to our home. On appointment day, the technician parked the vehicle on the street and later my wife told me he was not alone, that there was another guy in the van with him. The so-called service technician walks into my home and without informing me of his intentions, which would have been appreciated, just starts pushing buttons on the alarm panel keyboard and then writes something down on a piece of paper. Only later did I realize that he probably entered a code just to obtain my home alarms password. Nevertheless, after a short time he states something is needed for the alarm system and that he would have to make a return appointment to do the work... I thought it was odd for a company as large as ADT to not have parts for the job. Two days later I began to think about the strange service visit and wondered why he has not rescheduled an appointment yet. So, I called ADT Security Services again on their 800 number and asked a representative what was the status of my service. The representative asked me did anyone arrive at the scheduled service appointment. I asked the rep, don't you know if someone from ADT came to my home, and the rep said he had no way of knowing if someone came to my home. I told him it seems odd to me that ADT has a lack of communication problem within the company. I asked the rep, do you know the name of the technician that came to my home, and he said he did not. He asked me to standby, and that he would call the local ADT office to find out what happened. I had enough of the nonsense and hung up. So folks, here you have a classic example of a dinosaur (grandfathered) security company providing security services and or monitoring when it simply cannot monitor itself. In other words, one branch of the company does not know what the other is doing. That same morning after calling the 800 number, a gentleman leaves a message on my machine claiming to be from ADT's corporate security office. He asked me why we cancelled our prior service appointment. We could not believe what we were hearing, because someone wearing an ADT shirt and driving and ADT van came to our home. I called ADT Security Services back and asked to speak with someone from corporate security and was promptly told ADT does not have a Corporate Security office. Well, I thought to myself then, who called me claiming to be from ADT corporate security and who the hell came to our home from ADT? I finally looked online for ADT's corporate data and found numerous complaints against ADT's service, etc., and then I discovered it was all just a waste of time, just like this letter, but I had to vent nevertheless.
