My ADT system stopped working this morning. The battery is beeping at me. I might have another 3 hours before this stops. I tested everything and reset the breaker box. Still nothing. I called ADT and they informed me that they cannot get a technician out here until the 24th!!! So for the next seven days, I'm supposed to be without a system. I told them that it was unacceptable! How am I supposed to protect my family and my home if a system I'M PAYING FOR (for the last 10+ years might I add) isn't working? They told me that it was out of their hands, that the 24th was the earliest someone would be here. I was transferred EIGHT TIMES. I told Billing that I refused to pay for a service that didn't work. They said they'd give me credit once the technician came out. That's bull. I'll never see that credit. I kept asking for managers and kept getting the run around. When I finally asked for a manager who wasn't scheduling or customer service, someone OVER them, I was told to call the corporate office. Guess what...corporate didn't answer their freaking phones! So, now I'm paying for a system that doesn't work and the company that I'm paying to protect me and my family doesn't care one bit. I'm through with this company. Poor customer satisfaction.
I have been an ADT customer for 15 years. I recently had a break in and called to have additional equipment installed. It was on 09/13/11, the tech said all ok and everything is working. After he left I tested the system the next day and it did not. I called him and then the company. I called the company 3 additional times and they finally scheduled an appointment for today (10/14/11) between 12noon and 5pm. I was home and no one never showed I called at 523pm and was told the tech said he was at my residence at 323 and stayed until 325 and got no response when I questioned the representative she said she could not get him on the line. And the best they could do was to schedule another appointment for 1 week out. I requested to speak to a manager and Tod Billington called me back and said the next available appointment was 10/21/11 between 5pm and 8pm and if I wanted someone sooner I would have to pay 300.00+ even for a system they installed that did not work and there was no answer at the corporate number.
We were Brinks and Broadview Customers for over 10 years. In that time we have requested service exactly twice and received help within a timely manner. I called ADT today as my alarm started beeping at 3:30 in the morning. The rep was not helpful or friendly and practically called me a liar. They said it would be $105 for the service call and they could not send someone until the 17th of October. This afternoon our alarm went off again and this time my wife who can see a little better than me was able with a magnifier to see that it said low battery. We are legally blind and when we called ADT again they tried to tell us how to take out the battery and they do not know when someone can come out. Mean while our dogs are barking when it goes off and in the early morning disturbing our neighbors. We just don't know what to do, but one thing is for sure we are canceling with ADT. Paying them is like flushing money down a rat hole. John
I just called Adt for a quote over the phone but told them that I'm not sure if i still have a obligation with my current alarm system .they said oh no worries if u do we will cancel this contract as long as u call us by 9pm.well of course the customer number they gave me no one answered it..Long story short I haven't been given my money back as of yet Buyers beware don't give them any info unless u want to sign a contract with them. They will take ur money & won't give it back.
This is a nightmare, I called every few days in this 2 months , nobody care they just pingpong and every phone number I called always give back the same answer , sorry I am not be able to help you , you need to call the branch office (in Houston) and after that , they transfer to the billing dept. and the top person I can talk is the regional supervisor (Mr. Rufus) which never call me back nor answer my phone anymore. I interest to install 6 camera and I chose ADT since I though they have a good reputation than regular store in houston even cheaper, the sales rep. (Mr. Cody Travis) came and we negotiate and agree 6 camera included tax , installation , and one year additional service plan for 3 thousand something , we sign contract and that say 0 balance , I paid in front (since I though ADT is a big company who will be afraid), first they install late for a month than schedule , second Cody did not help to set up the computer in my bos home as our agreement and until now (09/25/2011), my boss still can not monitor his business we have been paying for internet every month almost $80 , and the last problem there is a balance in my account more than $100 , when I complaint to Cody , he said it's tax , if I want to complaint , complaint to US Goverment , I negotiate with him already included everything and I have the prof , I call .... call ..... and call ,always go back to the main office in Houston (Mr. Rufus , which never call back), since my bos complaint he still can not see from home , so I decided pay student from A&M to help install sometime next week ,since nobody at his home speak english and I have to work out of state for few months ,and the ADT billing dept keep calling my bos , to pay the remaining balance ............. what should I do .....can I sue them ...
My ADT system is so poorly installed. I've had about 12-17 alarms go off in the last year from nothing but the system. No entry, no glass broken. That alarm is piercing loud and I have 2 dogs. Anyway, after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment and taking the day off of work, I called to see the status of my appt and they told me "I'm sorry, the tech is not going to make it today". I am trying to find the corporate office or somebody who gives a shit that they are horrible with horrible customer service!!!
To Whom It May Concern; I recently had an phone outage at my home. I contacted my internet provider they came to my home and were not able to get to the box outside because there was a Brinks Security lock on it. I then contacted ADT and I advised them that my alarm is not working properly and the next available technician would be sent Oct 3rd. This not acceptable, my home is not protected and this why I have ADT. After much debate I inquired about the brinks lock and several representatives insisted that they did not put any lock on the outside box. But clearly the Brinks logo was on it, I even offered to take a snapshot and send it to them via email. Each rep inisisted on charging me $85 plus gas gratuity for just coming up to break the lock so that the cablevision technician can do his job. At this point, I was very fustrated my alarm system wasn't online and after I bought a bolt cutter to break the lock and had cablevision come down to see the issue the confirmed it was the alarm wiring causing a short with my phone lines. After much disappointment with the ADT service I was then transfered to the cancellation dept and which they acknowledged I was a good paying customer for 5+years. But this wasn't the case when I spoke to regular customer service reps. This was the 1st time I called for any issue and the attention I recieved was all negative. My mother died in May, 2010. It is now September, 2011 and I am still receiving bills for her ADT service. When she moved closer to me in 2007 she insisted on a security system because she has one in Illinois where she lived before. The installer allowed me to sign the contract, took MY personal check and said my mother would receive extra equipment if they could do an automatic withdrawal from her bank account every month. When she died I notified ADT to stop service. They refused to without a copy of her DEATH CERTIFICATE and a copy of her WILL. I faxed a copy of her death certificate and the court order appointing me as executor. They continued to take monthly payments from what is now my account until I had the bank stop the payments. (They took over $500 of my money). I talked to them on the phone and they said they never received my documentation. I am still receiving bills that I return unopened. My next step is to go to the Attorney General. I've had enough.
Good morning I sign up with ADT on friday September 2,2011 and my service was half done. My key pad work but my siren didnt work. Someone were suppose to come out the next day but didnt show are call. On labor day they were close so I couldnt wait until teuesday to call and give them a piece of my mine. After talking to GOD knows how many people it made me sick to my stomach repeating the same dam thing over and over to them. Lets just say they dont give care about nothing but getting money so your account is paid and laying to you about service. Well I was place on a emergency call between 5 and 8 for someone to come out and fix my problem with my siren guess what no one show up and I was place on hold for a hour and 30 minutes trying to get it resolve. So the fact to matter is go with someone else if you could are deal with the headach because am sure enough about to which service and I havnt had them a full two weeks yet poor poor service.
I do not recommend ADT for anyone, they double charge your account and provde false info just to get you to sign their contract. Recently my bank account has been charged several times and they refund it when they want too! They wont allow you to make monthly payments on your own(invoice). They want Access to your BANK account so they can take your money. How do i get out of this CONTRACT?
I agree with most of the complaints, I too have talked to five different people and nobody could help me. My lines were cut and they said they cannot do anything about this, so what am I paying for??? It's been four months and I'm still waiting for someone to call and ask me why I cannot activate my alarm. This company I will never do business again, I would rather leave my house unarmed.
If you have a door to door salesman come to your home, be sure to get a business card. After telling them no on a Thursday evening we were broken into 4 days later.......
Two days ago lighting struck my house and blew up my Adt system along with my Fios and DIsh. I contacted all three of these companies about replacing my equipment and every company except ADT said they apologized that had happened and would send someone out to fix the problem immediately for no cost since weather is out of anyones control. I called ADT and they stated they wanted at least 450.00 to fixe there own equipment. They told me I had two options cancel my service or pay to upgrade my service which generates a new contract.. THat is unbelievable!!!!!! I'm not god and can't help that my house was struck by lighting.. SO CANCEL this. Crappy ass service!!!! Hope u guys go under!!! I have also sent a copy of all these post and my story to local paper.... MY mission now is to see that no one I know goes with this poor company
In march an agent came to my door and explained there was a permotion going on with ADT. No money down, no need to pay for the equiptment, all i need to do was to pay the monthly bill of 47.95 and I would have six months to try out the service to see if i was happy with it. Also i was given a one month free trail for signing up.I felt this was a good deal and what could it hurt i had 6 months to decide if i wanted it or not. We did not qualify with the company so my aunt gave the o.k for them to give corporate office her ss# as good faith that this $1,000 equipment was left in honest hands. Well in June I lost my job and called to cancel. And what do know we dont have 6 months to decide we had three days. >:{ the sales rep lied to me and now im stuck paying wtih money i dont have. to make it worse i want billed for the firsty month and a half then get a letter saying i owed $78. and change but not to pay it cuz it will come out of my account. Well now im getting this collection agency calling for my aunt saying she owe $1,200. She was not suppose to be on the bill or contract. up until this month the payments have been taken out of the account. They are saying that in breech of contract is going on and action needs to take place. Im at a lost i dont know who to ask for help or how to fix this. im so upset that i was lied to. DONT EVER EVER TRUST ADT. they are LIERS!!!!!!!!!!
The worst company IN THE UNITED STATES!!!! If they owe you money, your better have a confortable chair, where you can seat & wait. I am waiting for a refund for 21 days. During these days I called Customer Service in different occasions, and I received all type of answers: "you check will send inmediately'; "you should receive your check in 2 or 3 days", Last Thursday, 8/18/11: "Your check was sent overnight, via FeDex, and this is your tracking #254159(!!!)..." I called FeDex, this tracking # does not exist!, Today, Monday, 8/22/11, I did not receive the check. I called ADT Customer sevice AGAIN!. They have no answer, so decided to give me the corporate office telehone# (303)339-8200. And the story began... again. "It takes 7 to 10 bussiness days..." SHAME ON ADT Co., WHO PLAYS WITH THEIR GOOD CUSTOMERS!!! But my 3 years contract expires this November /2011
IF THERE WAS A (0 STAR) I WOULD RATE THAT. GET PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT YOUR BRAND TO MARKET IT!!!!! WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.
The worst customer service possible. I would recommed a gun and a dog before I would refer their services to anyone who wants to keep their belongings secure. Escalations and Corporate are just names they give to departments to make you believe you are talking to upper management. My only wish is that I didnt spend so much time on the phone voicing my frustration and disappointment.
I found out in February that ADT installed an alarm system on a properity that I own without my knowlege. My mother who I hold power of attorney on and is disabled lives in the home and again without my knowledge signed a contract with ADT. When I found out about the system I contacted ADT to have it removed, (the house was up for sale, and I was in the process of moving my mother to Texas to live with me). I sent in proof 3 times that I was the rightful owner of the house, and 3 times I sent in proof that I have the power of attorney. It took 2 months to get the system removed from my house, and still 7 months later I am still waiting on a refund for my mother for the system that she paid for and that they took back. Personally I am tired of waiting, if I do not see a check in hand by the 26th of this month I will be contacting on the 29th, the Better Business Bureau, Legal services for the Elderly, and Darrell V. McGraw the West Virginia Sates Attorney.
I have had this system for four months and it has been a constant problem. I was away and they had a fire alarm, called the fire department who forced windows only to find there was no fire. I have had constant false alarms and warnings ever since. A tech finally came out to check the system after several weeks of waiting, reinstalled much of it, checked it out, and departed. It worked for one day and began beeping alarms every few hours during the night even though the system was disarmed. We invested over $2000 in a system that is junk, irritating, and worse than worthless. A class action suit is in order for these non responsive people.
SafeCo came out representing ADT promising to pay off my contract balance from prev. alarm co. which never happened.Called ADT to get resolution and they couldn't do it so now i have 1 cancellation fee of $800 and potentially one from ADT.It seems as thought ADT works for SAFE Co. there is no accountability here. ADT willing to loose a new customer because they can't get their door to door contractors to do the right thing. Which is take care of their customers! I am so disgusted with this mess!
