I am going through the most terrible experience with midas. Midas service center in Jackson Michigan negligently did work on rented truck and shortly thereafter all the fluid leaked out and the rearend locked stranding five of us on the interstate in Nevada in 118 degree weather in August 2010. After inspection by Midas in Las Vegas, the Corporate person Mr. DiGeorge stated that the problem was totally their responsibility and he would repair the truck. The insurance company for the Midas in Jackson Michigan, has denied my claim because he states that the mechanic in Jackson said that there was no leak when I drove away from the repair shop. Please note that Steve the manager of the Jackson Midas has informed my attorney James Lozier (517 487 4775) that he fired the mechanic who did the work improperly.

I went to Midas in Butler, PA for an oil change. They said they did a courtesy check and i needed an outer tie rod end, control arm and link kit. They said they would fix it for $800.00. I said no...took my car to three other body shops to look at it as well, and every single shop said my car was fine. there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my car. MIDAS IS A RIP OFF! DO NOT GO THERE, SAVE YOURSELF!

We replaced the orginal clutch March of 2009 in a 1996 Honda Civic at Midas in Tucker. Later on we had to replace the transmission. We took it to High Tech Transmission to do the work. They informed me that while they were doing the repairs it looked like the clutch was worn on one side. When I brought this up with Midas one of the guys in the shop suggested that in might have been installed wrong. The owner argued the point. Anyway nothing was done with this. Then a couple of months ago we replaced the catalytic converter. After this was done I started hearing strange noises and a louder tone in the car. After a couple of months since there were family medical issues preventing me from taking the car in to check this, All of a sudden the original muffler fell off the car. I took it in. They showed me the join had come loose and told me it was rusted. Other than that the unit looked fine. Nevertheless they told me the muffler had to be replaced. Well it is now a couple of weeks and the muffler has fallen off again and the unit they put in is not new and is in way worse shape than the original was. It is rusted and burned and dragging on the ground. This is the Midas in Tucker, Georgia. I paid $146 and change to have a new muffler installed. Also the area that they had not welded properly before I had them re do. I have pictures of what they put on the car and am appalled at the condition of this unit considering what it looked like before. I have spent a lot of money at this location and feel completely violated by this. I am also sure that a clutch should last a lot longer than a year since the original lasted for many years.

I went back to the Midas at 15441 Beach Blvd., Midaw City, CA. for the fourth time for the same problem. The new manager told theres nothing they won't fix it again and that they would not refund my money. After asking several questions, the manager got pissed and told me to get the F#@* out of his shop. He refused to give me his name or the owners name. I called corporate to file a complaint and am waiting to hear back. Not sure if that will even do any good. I will NEVER go to a Midas again.

We took our car to Midas in Peoria Illinois and the techs blew up the engine in my sons KIA. It's been a week and we are still waiting for the company insurance adjustor to look at the damage. Meanwhile, I have to rent a car which Midas will pay for but they will not pay for the insurance of the vehicle. I have liability only so am out an extra $15.00 per day to the rental company for full coverage. I asked if this would be reinbursed and was told no. I will never do business with them again. Of note, I have paid them over $2000.00 for repair to two vehicles this summer. Now I would like a mechanic to check the parts that were used, don't trust them.

I went to Midas in Woodland, Ca, yesterday (8/6/10). I had gone to them before and things had worked out well. Yesterday though did not go well at all. All the work that was done on my car was for the rear wheels. The first thing I noticed after I left the shop was that my car had been taken on a 13 mile test drive and magazines had been left in my car that weren't there before. Then the check engine light came on. Then my car started to idle strangely, every time I came to a stop. The clutch also feels funny and makes the car buck as I pull it out. The last thing I realized was that the emergency brake cable hadn't been hooked. My car had none of these problems prior to going in. I called Midas this morning. I was told to bring my car in and they would fit it in between brake jobs, if they had time to. I asked how long it would take and was told more than likely a few hours. I then asked if I would be able to get a ride home and was told no. I still haven't gone in yet. I thought I would wait till I could have my boyfriend come in w/ me and see if that makes a difference in there attitude. if i hadn't gone to midas yesterday, i wouldn't be having these problems, but that doesn't seem to matter to them.

I went to Midas because my brake light came on in my Acura and they preceded to tell me that I needed brakes and it was going to cost $678.00 for front and back brakes, I called my husband and he said he wanted a second opion, we took it some place else and they told me I had 40% in the front and 50% in the back. However, I did need new struts and 2 new tires, I took it to one other place and they told me the same thing. I am very upset with Midas and want my $50.00 back for the inspection fee. My car runs great now and no problems with my brakes. I will never go back to your company again and that man should be ashamed of himself for lying to me. I'm really surprised that you would employ someone who takes advantage of people.

Reading all these reviews I can't believe we went to Midas. Everyone seems to have the same problem. If something horrible happened to you and Midas did nothing about it, please EMAIL ME! My husband and I are suing and we need more plaintiffs. FLbound07@yahoo.com Sorry I can't give out my name or info just yet, but if you could please email me with "Suing Midas" in the title, include just your first name, the exact location of the Midas that screwed you over, and a brief description of what happened, this would greatly help us out. Also if you still have receipts/printouts of what happened, that's a huge plus. Please keep those in good condition in case this goes to court. please, please please email me! We don't have money to fix the $3,000+ mess up they made so we need this to work! Also, if you're reading this considering going to Midas, DON'T! Save yourself the nightmare and go to Firestone instead.

I took my car to Midas in Orlando for an oil change at Midas and the technician/mechanic forgot to put oil in my car. I drove my car for a week and my engine blew. When i called to make a complaint and request my car be repaired I was told that since I towed the car to a mechanic shop and not to Midas they cannot pay for it because they have no proof it was their fault. How was I supposed to know my car stopped because it had no oil when I just had an oil change and have NO oil leak in my car. Naturally my car stops and I tow it to a mechanic, when the mechanic opens the hood I had not a drop of oil and the car was dusting metal from me driving so long with no oil. It is costing me over $1,000.00 to rebuild my engine and I believe Midas should pay for it. I need my car as I am a single parent with 3 kids so I will pay to fix it but I will take this as far as I can.

I went to the Midas shop on El Camino Rl., Sunnyvale, CA. Ask to have Ford Taurus serviced. It was do for it's 100,000-mile service. I needed inspection of drive belts, replace pcv valve, replace spark plugs and an oil change. The gentleman that I spoke with said he can make an appointment for me during the week. I told him I worked and would need to bring it in on the week end. So he made an appointment for Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and that it would take about two hours to have the service done. I called Saturday morning to find out if someone could take me back home, as I could not set there for two hours. The person that answered the phone told me that they do not do appointments on saturdays, that it was a first come service and that I would need to find someone to take me home. I told him that I was in during the week and a gentleman there made an appointment for me. This person that I talk to on the phone was very rude. He said he was the manager. He would not lesson to a word I said. What about people that work all week and can not bring in their cars for service. Don't you think that you should do appointment on week-ends as well. Car dealerships do. That would be good customer service. Also you would know how many employees to schedule for that day. In stead of having employees standing around and get payed or be over whelmed with work that it doesn't get done right. Just got a call from the manager of this store. He apoligized for what happened. He said he did not know that one of the employees had made an appointment. So I brought my car in and was driven home. We will see what kind of service they do for me. I'll get back to you when it is finished. Thank you for letting this old lady go off!!!

I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER SRT8. THE CAR WOULD SHACK AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES. I TOOK IT TO THE MIDAS ON WASHINGTON RD IN AUGUSTA GA FOR AN INSPECTION AND REPAIRS IF NECESSARY IN THE MONTH OF MARCH. I WAS TOLD BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. I DROVE THE CAR TO NORFOLK VA AND THE CAR WOULD SHACK EVERY TIME I APPLIED THE BRAKES. I THINK I HAVE A WORPED ROTOR. I AM NOT A BRAKE SPECIALIST BUT BELIEVE THAT'S WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I RETURNED TO AUGUSTA GA IN THE MONTH OF JUNE AND WENT BACK TO THE SAME MIDAS SHOP FOR ANOTHER INSPECTION. I TOLD THE TECHNICIAN THAT I WANTED NEW ROTORS INSTALLED. YOUR TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD TAKE A WEEK TO GET THE ROTORS FOR MY CAR. I TOLD HIM THAT I CAN GET THE ROTORS IN A TWO DAYS IF NOT OVERNIGHT. BUT HE SAID HE CAN NOT INSTALL THE ROTORS BECAUSE I DID NOT PURCHASE THEM FROM MIDAS AND MIDAS WOULD NOT WARRANTY THEM. SO IN THE MEAN TIME I HAVE TO TAKE MY CHANCES WHILE DRIVING MY CAR UNTIL I CAN GET MY BRAKES REPAIRED. I THINK THIS IS A BAD POLICY FOR MIDAS TO HAVE. I UNDERSTAND THAT MIDAS WILL NOT WARRANTY THE ROTORS BUT I WOULD FEEL AND BE SAFER IF THEY WOULD DO THE INSTALL. I WOULD RATHER HAVE BRAKES THAT WORK PROPERLY WITHOUT A WARRANTY THEN TO HAVE QUESTIONAL BRAKE PERFORMANCE AND BE TURNED AWAY. IN THE MEAN TIME I WILL NOT DRIVE MY CAR IN THE NAME OF SAFETY. I WISH MIDAS WOULD DO THE JOB AND I CAN BE BACK ON THE ROAD. I DO NOT TRUST ANYONE ELSE TO DO MY BRAKES.

I went to Midas in Sandy Springs on May 8 2010. and was extremley not happy with how I was treated. I walked in and was greeted by someone who I suppose was the manager. He was dressed in a different shirt than everyone else. He was also an older gentleman with glasses. Anyway, I proceeded to tell him what was wrong with my car and that I came in just wantong a quote on how much it would be to fix it. I told him I had the thermostat housing replaced about a year ago and it was still running hot only when I am stopped and when I start to go again, the therostat goes down. I then told him I wanted to know how much it would be to fix the radiator fan switch. He then, kind of rudly, asked me how I knew it was that. I told him I have been doing my research and that is where all the signs are pointing to. He again, rudly asked me how I knew that was what was wrong with it. Also, before I could answer his question a second time, he asked why the guy who fixed the thermostat housing department did not fix the radiator fan switch while he was in there. I told him I couldn't answer that because I was not in there doing the work. He asked me the same question again. I answered with my same response. Then he said "Well we don't have time to do it today" I walked out of that store vowing that I will NEVER go into another Midas. All I wanted was a price quote and the manager wouldn't even give me that. I have told numerous, numerous people as well about the bad customer service I received. I wish it were different because this Midas is 5 minutes from where I live, but I will never, never go back to any Midas.

Midas in baltimore md on reisterstown rd was horrible. They changed my oil, and I'm not sure if the oil plug was stripped already or if they did it but the guy didn't even say anything which made me think it was them. So I took it back and now they want to say oh it was already that way. But my car was not leaking oil until after that oil change. Such horrible customer service evenif they were not at fault they still should have said something......so horrible
