I just joined the other week and was very disappointed. The trainors at the La Fitness in Downingtown, Pa are very pushy and rude not only to the customers but to each other. Each time I have been in, my friend and I have been harrassed by the trainors to get signed up for one on ones. I have told them several times I cannot afford it and am not interested. But they can't seem to hear. Thinking about changing gyms just because of it.

LA.In the ma. area are actually nice. Tha equipement is current. I do agree with most the personal trainers are not issa cert. Here in ma. L.A. fitness is like any other corporation. There main objective is to make money. If your not careful you will be mislead on every turn.The personal trainers are not ISSA certified. They are sales associates that have taken a corporate seminar designed to maximize sales not personal achievements. The MA. facilities lack sufficent sanitation. What i find most comical about la. fitness is they look for any reason to close early or not open at all.

I am having a problem getting in touch with someone to speak about my paycheck. The numbers that I had been provided goes unanswered. I am due pay for many hours worked. LA fitness is a clean facility. Other than that, they are an absolute joke. I have sent in my cancellation form in over 3 weeks ago and they still have no cancelled my membership. I am still getting charged. Not to mention, it was hell simply trying to get the cancellation form. The trainers are rude. Everyone judges you and stares at you. It is a rip off and they are so dishonest. I will never recommend LA fitness to anyone. They will only hear negative comments from me.

I was told one thing and they did the opposite. I tried to cancel my membership and the GM said that I couldn't cause I signed a contract and I was locked in for a year. I was very livid and walked out storming. I went back a week later because I thought if I'm paying for it I might as well use it. I spoke to one of the sale staff and he was very helpful. He said if I wanted to get out of the contract to just cancel the credit card. That way they can not collect their monthly payment. It will not show up on your credit report because they never took down your social security number. I did that and to this day a year later nothing happened.

I wish I would have read all these comments before joining. Once they have your bank information, boy are you screwed. The take money that should have not been taken out and their answer is, "Sorry mam, there is nothing we can do at this moment". Then you try to call head quarters and the "SUPERVISOR" gave me the incorrect number. Then the one on the top of this site is also incorrect. I guess that's why the owner is so damn rich.

After experincing identity theft the credit card paying LAF was cancelled. I asked them to mail me a form because I had cancer, was on chemotherapy and could not come to gym, I received over 20 harassing calls trying to get a credit card number over the phone. Really classy group.

My daughter works for LA Fitness in the Kids Club, she works nights and alone and at times she will have 20 - 25 kids which does not sound legal and I will do my research to find out if there is a kid ratio per adult in Arizona, also her schedule is from 4:30 to 8:00pm and the Kids Corner closes at 8:00, if the parents show up at 8:15 she was told that she still had to sign out at 8:00 and she would not get paid for the extra 15 minutes, this happens all the time. On top of this she asked for a raise after 7 months of never being late and staying late without getting paid for her time and they told her they do not give out raises. We as a family have cancelled all our memberships as well as some close friends who joined because of us and I am in contact with the labor board of Arizona. I have been told we may be able to sue LA Fitness for the their illegal actions against my daughter.

La fitness is the worst gym and the people that work there are not helpful at all. I had told them I wanted my account frozen because I was unable to attend the gym. It has been five months and still they have not frozen my account and when I called them to speak to a manager they had me on hold for thirty minutes awhile there general manager was talking to people in the front awhile I was on the phone waiting to speak to someone. Finally I got so upset I had asked the girl for his bosses number and the manager told her to tell me they can not give it out. I will never recommend la fitness to anyone..

Hi too all at corporate.I was a contracted member back in 2009 at your vista/encinitas/san marcos locationI upped and quit because of some type of fraudulent attachment to paperwork again and I am missing parts again cellularlyI believe they have been taken by this group of people who roam the l.a.valleys since 59.can I please have them back I dont want to have to go to court it can be quite costly, arbitration is much easier.Thankyou,j.d.please mail to delisojoseph@hotmail.com.

Very unsatisfied I cancelled back in May and they still have been charging me!! I've called and am always told the manager is too busy to deal with my problem and finnally after 2 months they agreed to refund my money, but now has been 3 weeks since they have said that and I still have not received my money. Worst employees ever they lie and hang up on you, and the managers are always avoiding you. Everett WA la fitness is horrible!!!!! Don't sign up with la fitness you will be disappointed!!

You are a rip off. The facility is lovely at first sight but there is no satisfaction of service. The workout trainers are by and large poorly trained, they are inconsistent in their availability, they are poorly paid and their commitment and attitude is equal to the pay they receive. Trying to get money back for unused services is a joke. You are constantly changing managers and other staff so that any complaint gets lost in the shuffle. You are all mouth and salesmanship with no follow through. I will report you to the better business bureau because frankly I don't think you care about customer service and this meager attempt to get feedback does not influence you one bit.

After reading all of the many complaints and issues with the gym I can see now that I am not the only one that has had the many problems that involves this gym. Many people have expressed irritation with the same issues that I have had. I have never had such rude service or if you have a problem they do not even appologize. I have been a member a little over a year. In that time I had heart issues and was forced to take time off. In the beginning I was told I could leave things in a locker with a lock. Who told me this because in some fine print they are not liable for the company having someone come in and cut the locks off at Christmas. They posted it before doing it but, lets see, for those that had not been able to come in that few day period....might there have been emails in which they send us other things going on about the gym...like more special deals! But not once warning people that you would be stripped of everything. A friend told me her locker was cleaned out so I go up there and everything gone. We are talking about $1000.00 worth of make up product, mirror, wrap, towels, foot slippers, etc. I, not once, got one appolgy or any consideration at all...from anyone. I even sent a letter to Corp. but never got a response letter. Inside my locker plain for all was my log book with name and phone # along with my trainer!!!!! We get past this. Last week I can finally get back to working out. With a bad taste in my mouth but 21 private trainer lessons I am going to bite the bullet and go back. 1st day is at 5 in the morning because that is the only time the trainer that I am used to is open. I get up...and if you do not usually train at 5am it is not an easy task!!! Go in and no trainer. Maybe he will be here in a few the girl at check in said. 20 minutes later...still no trainer. Finally she comes and said I was on the schedule for 7 but not with my trainer.. I get my phone to look at that trusty email you get to remind you of the apt and what do you know, it said it was at 5am. 1st bad day. Next apt scheduled for Friday. My son is in town but he loves to work out so I told him I had an apt with trainer so he is going in to just lift. Guess what, no call, no trainer. Just so happened my trainer had his license expire and has to get it back. Do you think anyone called to tell me? Do you think I had one person there tell me that they were sorry. So I have 21 paid training lessons, have paid gym fees and do not feel like stepping foot back into this gym!!!

I got stuck with an LA Fitness membership after they bought out my gym. They would not let me cancel my training contract even though they were not providing me the same service level that I was getting before LA took over. My trainer has been crude and crass and made me uncomfortable. I called to complain and again ask that my membership be cancelled. Even with all the inappropriate comments and my feeling incomfortable and harassed, they STILL will not cancel my training contract. I asked for the phone number to the corporate office and they refused to give it to me. I asked who they reported to and again, they would not provide that information. I am so incredibly disappointed with the service and attitude of LA Fitness employees. I would never suggest this club to anyone

I have been a member for 3 years, way too long. It is difficult to cancel membership and when ever I have tried in the past to do so I got a complete run around. Flash forward to now: My debit card was lost last week which was the same week as billing. You would have thought I hadn't paid dues in months! They have called 3 times a day EVERY day and I am only 5 days over. I explained that I would be getting a new card in 5-10 business days and the annoying rude girl on the other line insists om getting an alternate credit card when I become as obstinate as she is she hangs up on me. It has become a battle of wills now. I HATE LA Fitness and the way they trap you into paying for a lame over crowded over priced gym with out of order machines and a bunch of squeaky bimbos that have no common sense or courtesy.

Did you know that a representative of LA fitness ( an instructer) is offending people and making LA fitness look worst then bad. She has no interest nor attitude to help people with weight problems. She has a fetish to put them down and insult them in public in the most horrid manner. These situations could easily be prevented and children wouldn't have to loose a parent of parents loose a child." ---------------------------- I as well as many others are waiting to see how LA fitnes responds to this kind of representation of LA fitness from one of their instructors. We feel that this is worthy of media attention however, we decided to wait a little bit and see if anything is done about this morbid offense to many people from La Fitness by is upper respresentatives of their own kind. My understanding is that Nina represents the LA fitness in the city of ALHAMBRA on Atlantic blvd. I also have an understanding that she works in other LA fitness centers as well near that same area.

Comment Or Question Message: Shame on LA Fitness. I visited the club in Laguna Niguel while my wife was fatally ill one day to determine if I would consider joining. The salesman said he had to hold my credit card and license for liability purposes. After several strong-arm attempts to sell me a membership, I declined and chose to join 24 Hour Fitness. I recently discovered that I had been charged $49.99 for the past 24 months and spoke to both corporate and the local facility. I went to that facility that one time in my life explaining I did not join nor ever visit their facility again. They offered to refund 12 of the 24 months they charged me, and I asked why not the entire amount ($1199.76)? The local manager then told me that he was holding a membership agreements signed by me, which is why they would only refund 12 months and suggested I take that offer and go away. I went to their office, only to find a membership agreement forged by their representative that bared no resemblance to my signature whom no longer works there. After this discovery, I asked corporate one more time to re-consider a full refund for obvious reasons beyond doubt, or this would be escalated to maximum level of the law and made public by any means possible. The Laguna Niguel Sheriff reported the matter. The sheriff spoke to and visited with their manager Byron in Laguna Niguel and suggested they refund my money as the police department will pursue this matter as a full crime investigation, including arresting the LA Fitness representative for forgery while addressing the theft and ongoing false charges with LA Fitness. Their decision after speaking with two supervisors was to stand firm and decline me a full refund. Pretty amazing, wouldn’t say? In closing, how do they stay in business, and why would they want me to tell hundreds to thousands of people about such a distasteful experience? Doesn't customer satisfaction matter to a company of this size? It does with Mercedes-Benz, my employer. We also strive to earn repeat and referral business. I can only suggest that everyone avoid this organization like the plague after my 2 days and 6 hours of time trying to resolve what should have been an open and closed case.

Worse experience I have every had working with a company 2 Forged my signature on two contracts and extracted about 2 Grand from my bank debit card! Now fighting with the bank to get the funds back! Someone noted on their customer profile computer that I had urinated in the sona! I was once tricked into leaving the sona by one of their maintence peoople who wanted to clean the sona . He said "Do you smell piss?" I said no. After leaving I told him if he wanted me to leave the sona he could have asked me politly not made up a story about a member urinating which in three years I'd never seen anyone do. LOTS OF OTHER STRANGE THINGS I HAVE OBSERVED THERE.

wanted to join a gym today. The guy I was speaking with had horrible breath and even worse body odor. He wouldn't let me talk. As I said I am done and was walking out the door he yelled so I could hear" Rose you did put her in the system right? make sure you put her as a hagler!" Really? all I wanted was to join a gym today. Stay away from La Fitness.
