1049 Reviews For LA Fitness Headquarters & Corporate Office

On 5/11/2011, let’s start off saying I use to be a 24 hr fitness member for 19 yr. loved it! I have relocated to the city of Lake Elsinore California where there is only LA Fitness gym. I decide to sign up at La fitness on this date. I asked several question about the gym, the only thing they could tell me we are better then 24 hr. we are never crewed no lines to use the equipments. I ask the manager can you show me your packet for prices. The manager could not find any information. The only thing he could is a class schedule and informed me to check the web page for additional information. WOW! So I walked out without signing up. I though maybe this person was new and didn’t know too much about the gym. I called a different La Fitness center and explain to another manager what had take place. The manager stated I am sorry, I can help you. We talked and I explain my interest in the gym. The manager stated I am glad to help you, can I take your information and I’ll call you back. I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. WOW!... I WISH I HAD STAYED WITH 24 HR FITNESS. (24 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOME). I AM STILL WITHOUT A GYM…..

I hope that you corporate stiffs really read this, your high pressure sales tactics are not needed. Your facilities should speak for themselves. It is always good business sense to treat your potential customers like educated adults. That means that all fees be revealed at the same time; not spoon fed to your customers as if they infants. Your staff should not assume anything, but ask questions and actually listen to what the customers needs really are, and only then offer a sensible solution. My personal experience with your sales people was terrible. Your staff is consumed by greed, " sign up sign up " ,we don't care, we just want our commission. If you don't believe just send someone under cover so you can get first hand info. I will be personally contacting your corporate offices. Anyone reading this beware, ever try to get in touch with the executive body of LA Fitness, it's almost as hard as going into space; and thats the way they like it. Just sign and screw you..

Dear LA Fitness, I'm a loyal gym-goer. I'm the type of person that will make the most of my gym membership. I love having a gym membership and it is definitely something that I believe is worth the money. It's my "me time." I love having a "place" that's mine where I know I will go to stay fit and healthy. I'm the poster child for gym-going. In fact, for the last year and a half that I've had my blog, 110 Pounds and Counting, I've been writing about my experiences at 24 Hour Fitness--free advertising for them and I never asked for anything in return. I wrote about my workouts, the machines, the pool, my experiences with the personal trainers, and the classes I've tried. I'm happy that I can say I have inspired my readers to challenge themselves physically in order to get fit and healthy. The entire goal of my website was to inspire and help people who want to lose weight. My membership with 24 Hour Fitness expired recently so I decided to go gym shopping to find the perfect gym for me and my fitness needs. It really is a shame that you were so adamant against giving me a 7-day Guest Pass to your facilities. As a result, I'm writing this open-letter to you and to all my dear readers who are joining me in my search for a new gym. I could be angry with your poor customer service. You were pushy and aggressive and it turned me off. This is not the end of the world because really I only have to have contact with Mr. Aggressive Sales Guy once and then I can use the gym without interacting with him at all. I was willing to overlook the aggressive sales pitch to see the gym for what it had to offer. You never gave me that option, though, so the impression I have is a negative one. I could be outraged at the cowardly actions of the sales person who instead of having a conversation with me, just decided to go back on their word. He promised to email me a 7-Day pass and I never received that. I never even received a phone call or an email stating that I wouldn't get a pass. Why take the cowardly way out? Why is it so bad to negotiate with a potential customer? I guess you don't want my business. There were things I really did like about LA Fitness but because of the poor service I received LA Fitness is not even in the running for my choice. You should rethink the way you run your business. Your 7-Day Guest Passes aren't gold. Trust me. I can get a Guest Pass for any gym and it's not treated like I'm asking for the world. And trust this: you wanted me as a customer. Sincerely, Someone Who Will Not Be Giving You Money

This club is not what it used to be anymore machines brake down and don't get fix air conditioner in the spinning room does not work which is very dangerous because someone is going to pass out. I went last week on Saturday to do spinning and I thougt I was going to faint again yesterday still no ac in the spinning room. What is going on?

I signed up with LA fitness in Vancouver, Wa and I am very disappointed with the customer service I recieve from the Manager. I feel like everytime I bring in a guest she has something to say about it. I would think you would want people to bring in guest, so the company can have more membership..She was very rude and disrespectful. I will be filing a complaint with LA fitness corporate an my corporate office.

August 27, 2011 LA FITNESS SUCKS! LA FITNESS’ 7-DAY PASS IS $20 DOLLARS A DAY! LA Fitness has left me feeling a little unfit. About a month ago, Graciela King from LA FITNESS was on Randolph and Michigan with a table set up and passing out 7 day passes for LA FITNESS, which has a center across the street on Randolph. I accepted the coupon and made an appointment with Ms. King, but cancelled it and had to reschedule for 8/27/11 at 1:30 PM. I arrived on time for the appointment, entered the facility and informed the person at the desk of my appointment. I waited 20 minutes or more and no one approached me or said anything else to me regarding my appointment. So I stopped a young man with a LA Fitness t-shirt and asked him if he would tell Ms. King that I was here. She came directly out and apologized. She indicated that no one had told her that I was waiting. Ms. King, ask me some questions. Gave her sale’s pitch. Introduced me to a personal trainer. All that was fine. She moved toward closing the sale and trying to get me to make a decision that day. I had no desire to make a decision that day. As a matter-of-fact, in the beginning of our conversation, I told her that I was looking around at clubs and was thinking about a tennis club and that led to our conversation about racquetball at one of the clubs in Evanston. I informed her repeatedly that I wanted to look around and make a decision that was right for me. (Given that I had not touched a piece of equipment or spent any time there, she had to be kidding.) So she could not get a commitment out of me, so she called her manager to the scene and he proceeded to ask my some “qualifying” questions. During the conversation, she kept saying, “it’s the money.” I informed him that I wanted to look at some other clubs before I made a decision. He asked me had I looked at any other clubs. I told him that I had not, that I was starting with this club. (And, it’s not like I’ve never belonged to any other clubs, because in my conversation with Ms. King, I mentioned two.) So after this “questioning,” Ms. King leaned forward and expressively, informed me “Well, if you use the seven day pass and you don’t obtain membership, the cost is twenty dollars a day.” I told her that it was a seven day pass. Per Ms. King, “But, it’s not a free seven day pass.” At that point, I got of my seat and simply said that “This did not turn out well.” I was too tried to be angry. I decided that I did not care for the spirit of the place and it was not the place for me. But, after doing a couple errands downtown and I thought about it a little bit more and decided that I did not care for the slimy, slickness and disrespect. And, remembered that during their interrogation, that Ms. King commented that “So, you just going to use our club.” No, I don’t want to use your club. And, I don’t think that others will be quite as interested in using it, as I share this information across the net. Your offer to join for $59.00 initiation fee and $49.00 per month was a good offer, but then, obviously, no one can afford L.A. FITNESS’ 7 DAY PASS. OR YOUR FUNKY ATTITUDE! CONSUMERS BEWARE! My wife has been a member who recently asks me to join her for a trial run. She added me as a "guest" on her membership. When I showed up with her, I was treated as if I was a criminal attempting to break into someone's home, simply because I did not have my "printed guess pass", which anyone is able to print off the Internet, apparently. This strikes me as odd at so many different levels. First, if the idea of allowing "guest" visit is to open up sales channels that allows LA Fitness to sign up new members, shouldn't they at least be NICE to potential customers, BEFORE we cough up our money. The analogy would be walking into a department store and immediately being roughed up by security before I even start buying. Wouldn't that make the shopper leave the store? Yet another problem is that these instructors treat customers as if we are a bunch of idiots. Most businesses forget that no matter what business they are in, at the end of the day, they are ALL in the PEOPLE BUSINESS! I for one am rethinking joining this place. For a few dollars more, other local clubs are much more "personal" and friendlier.

If there was a zero (0) that is what I would rate LA Fitness....it's just a matter of time that this company folds....you can only ripp off so many before they become the masses...you fools LA Fitness don't you know, what comes around goes around! You may have your pockets lined now, but if you take one moment and see where this country is right now and how it got there.... you will see your on that same agenda...and for some of use who have been misled by you we will enjoy your fall. I met some very nice people who used to work for LA Fitness, they very quickly learned that it is better to have no job and keep their integrity than to work for a cheap outfit like yours! Snakes come in many colors including the fitness arena...Need I say more! If you care about your reputation you'd better start paying attention and review those you leave incharge of your company because they pretty much do as they choose or just close your doors..I have a feeling you are going to be made an example by those you currently serve and don't serve...It's companies like yours that lessen America!

I loathe this gym! Membership has no clue how to run their dept.

BEWARE OF SCAMSTERS. LA FITNESS IS A SCAM THAT LURES YOU IN AND THEN CHARGES YOUR CREDIT CARD FOREVER. ANY CALLS TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK OR STOP THIS FRAUDAULEND ACTIVITY OF CHARGING YOUR CREDIT CARD ARE IGNORED. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR LA FITNESS SERVICES OR YOU’LL REGRET IT

I had joined the gym and got a personal training membership. I needed to cancel the membership for both. Canceling the actual membership at the gym wasn't a problem but when I needed to cancel my personal trainer they wouldn't let me, even for military purposes! I was told that I couldnt cancel the contract and that I could just use the sessions later that I paid for. I called again after I graduated boot camp and they then told me my payments stop in July. It is now Sept. and they are still coming out.

I'm a member of la fitness and was satisfied with the service until I got my things stolen. I went to the pool came back and all of my things were gone and my lock broken. I asked if someone going to replace my things but they we said "we cannot be held responsible for this incident stuff like this happens all the time"

WALKED INTO THE LA FITNESS IN ORANGE CT. ONE PERSON READING A MAGAZINE AND THE OTHER ON A PERSONAL CALL. HE ASKED DO YOU "HAVE A QUESTION". VERY RUDE. LET THAT GO AND SPOKE WITH A YOUNG MAN NAMED ANTHONY AND A TRAINER CALLED FRANK. DID SIGN UP DUE TO THE FACT THEY HAVE WATER AROBICS AND I HAVE A HEART CONDITION AND THIS WAS THE BEST WORKOUT FOR ME. TOLD THEM I DID NOT WANT OR COULD AFFORD A PERSONAL TRAINER. NO SOONER PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND A PERSONAL TRAINER CALLED ME AND WANTED ME TO TURN AROUND AND COME BACK TO TALK WITH HIM. I HAD NO POWER, WATER IN MY BASEMENT DUE TO IRENE AND TOLD HIM I DID NOT WANT A TRAINER AT THIS TIME. HE WOULD NOT LET ME GET OFF THE PHONE. NEXT DAY I GET A CALL FROM FRANK "THE TRAINER WHO I MET WITH" AND KNEW I DID NOT WANT ONE AT THIS TIME. I THEN ASKED TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP AND WAS PUT TO THE FRONT DESK AND OF COURSE PUT ON HOLD FOREVER. LATER CALL BACK AND DID SPEAK TO MIKE THE MEMBER SERVICE MANAGER WHO WAS VERY POLITE AND DID CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP. I TOLD HIM I WAS HOPING TO FIND A PLACE TO DESTRESS AND GET HEALTHY, NOT A PLACE TO BE HOUNDED TO PURCHASE MORE PRODUCT. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LA FITNESS AT ALL.

I visited the local La Fitness in Downingtown, Pa. This facilities had ALL the wonderful options I would look for in a fitness center and is LOCAL. Decided to join another fitness center though. Why. Never, never have I been treated with such saleman pressure and everything is about getting your checking account or credit card number. Difficult to get these things straightened out when no one answers at corporate. If that much sales pressure is going to be used, people beware.

Really treated badly by Downingtown, PA manager. Will join somewhere else. All these, no doubt, true comments are helpful. I found that out when visiting the Downingtown, PA facility. Couldn't believe the sales statics and rudness. Once again everyone thank you and this is also much of what I experienced. I am shocked.

LA FITNESS IS THE WORST RISING GYM IN AMERICA. HOW CAN WE GET THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU ON TO THESE PEOPLE. THEY LIE AND LIE TO GET ME TO SIGN UP, THEN ALL THE CARDIO MACHINES ALL HAVE MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS, KIDS CLUB WAS EXTREMELY DIRTY, HOTTUB WAS ALWAYS DOWN AND VERY DIRTY AS WELL AS THE RESTROOMS. THEY LIED ABOUT SO MANY THINGS TO GET ME TO SIGN UP, AND THEN EVEN ADMITTED TO IT AND LAUGHED ABOUT IT. THEY ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF ALL OVER AMERICA. THEY FIRST HAD SOME GUY COME TALK TO ME SOLICITING EVERYONE IN MY WORKPLACE, GAVE ME A "FREE TWO WEEKS" AND THEN WHEN I WENT TO GET THE FREE TWO WEEKS THEY WOULDNT HONOR IT, THEN PRESSURED ME INTO SIGNING FOR A MEMBERSHIP TO THIS NASTY OVERPRICED GYM THAT LOOKS GOOD FROM THE 2 MINUTE TOUR, BUT TURNS OUT EXTREMELY HORRIBLE ONCE YOU ARE A MEMBER AND SEE THE ACTUAL EQUIPMENT. THEY ALSO CHARGED ME FAR MORE PER MONTH THEN THEY SAID IN THE CONTRACT/MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT, SO THEY WERE SO SUPPOSED TO INVESTIGATE IT, AND 5 MONTHS HAS WENT BY AND IVE BEEN CALLING THEM LIKE CRAZY, STILL NO ANSWERS!!! VERY HORRIBLE PLACE, DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE UNLESS THEY ARE MY ENEMY!!! BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, PLEASE DO SOMETHING, PLUS THEY TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES LIKE CRAP!!

I wish I had paid attention to all the negative reviews listed. As a 62 yrar old I felt the need to get in better shape. Before I knew it I was drawn into this personal training contract which I was attempting to deal with finalcially. Then I ended up with a long term medical condition and gave La Fitness a Dr.'S letter explaining the problem. It is the same runaround that I have read in these reviews. Nobody is responsible in handling the matter and the stories change everyday. The corporate headquarters is no better and I guess it adds up that La's people are trained to work with rules which corporate dictates and trained the sales people on so once they have you and your money they do not want to listen to anything. I am waiting to hear from corporate on the letter from my doctor in hopes of canceling my personal trainer contract but since late friday I have gotten a runaround for almost a week now and getting close to the new billing period. Has anyone out there had any success in legal action against La Fitness? I* am in the Hollywood Florida area and would like some input on this. Thank You

Don't worry people you are not the onlyones rip off from LA fitness I got 3 sessions with apersonal treainer for $75 and didn't read the small letters that said if you don't cancell it will be $500 a month for unlimited trainig, but at that time my income was great that I din't notice about those charges so I was looking for a check to see if cleared and after 3 months I saw that they charge me that and I was treat like an ignorant for those call managers so unprofessional I really don't recommende it at all they have license to rip off people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been going to LA Fitness for the past 5 months at 2 separate locations. The other day, my roomate, who works part time as an instructor for a few of the local classes, and myself had a great workout together as we do 3-4 days a week. As we started to leave, we were followed out into the parking lot by the Barrett Parkway manager and a trainer. We were accused of "him training me" even though we have been working out together for several months now. They mentioned revoking my membership and firing him under the pretense that we were doing something wrong. I do not pay my friend for lessons as we are basically on the fitness level and we just work out together. We argued our point for several minutes before becoming irrate. I am writing to ensure this does not happen again. I have done nothing wrong to deserve this type of treatment and expect to met with far better experiences from here on out.

Haha. You guys are all a bunch of whiny cry babies. I go to LA Fitness and have never had an issue. Here's a couple tips: 1. Don't leave valuables in your locker regardless of what kind of lock you have. Nothing is secure. So, instead of taking off your wedding band because you want to pick up that hot chick you saw on the spin bike, leave it on and carry a back pack instead and don't give them a chance to steal your worthless shit. Oh yeah, the real crime here is that your wedding band is only worth $200.00! Cmon now, you should be happy someone stole that peice of junk. 2. Stop trying to get people that aren't members in for free and you won't be dissapointed when you get denied. Or hey, if you want to have unlimited guests then quit being a tight ass and pay the extra $10.00 per month that was offered for unlimited guests. They offered it to me, I didn't accept, but then again I'm not complaining about trying to get people in for free. 3. If you don't like the practically free child care that they provide hey, here's an idea, pay for a real babysitter and not some gym employee that probably hates your kid anyways. Oh and also, if your kid is in a play area with 20 other kids chances are there is going to be an occasional scratch or bite! Especially if your kid is half as annoying as you are. Get used to it because they are probably headed for a lifetime of getting their ass kicked. Nerds. 4. Just becuase you have a membership but can't take your ass to the gym for two months doesn't mean you get to not pay your membership for those two months! What a retard. If you have a car payment but decide not to drive your car for two months do they just forgive your payment those two months? Geez. I'm actually LOLing! 5. This isn't a tip but just an observation that lame asses like you are what is wrong with this world. Instead of focusing on positives you would rather whine and cry when you feel the world is unfair to you. Hey, newsflash! Its a corporation, they probably dont give two squirts of piss about you because they got 5 other people signing up right after you! The beauty of this nation is you can just take your business elsewhere to another gym that you probably will end up hating becuase after a year not going you still remain a sorry, fat, whiny asshole! I'm done, thanks for listening, it's been fun!
