160 Reviews For Farmers Insurance Headquarters & Corporate Office

We switched to Farmers after searching for a cheaper Insurance company and thought we had found it when we contacted Agent Joe Hoell in Germantown,WI. At first he was real helpful with information nad setting us up with insurance plans.

I had a leak in my Transmition and called my agent to get my car towed so I wouldn't damage my car, the tow truck driver decided to not only start my car but attempted to drive it, it went about 15 feet before burning up my trans, I asked for a tow to prevent damaging my car instead they destroyed my trans and farmers refused to pay for the damage stating that it was due to wear and old age. It worked perfectly fine prior to the Tow driver driving it with little to no transmition fluid in it. I'm cancelling myh policy with Farmers they can steel money from someone else from now on.

They lost our payments, and blame us. I have proof that I paid it, but the bank is going to access a $25 fee to stop payment. They told us just to leave the insurance card in the card, so I did. I needed the card and our card expired 6 month prior. 6Months!! There online documents claim that we are not even client. No one tried to save our business. They just continued to make up excuses. Now they are closed and I cant close my accounts. I have spend 5hr trying to deal with them. Avoid Bryan Ernst in Arizona city, AZ and clueless Colleen Plutowski in Casa Grande, AZ

Absolutely unbelievable. I have been searching for New Cheaper Car Ins. I did not call Farmers Ins but I got a call from them..I was busy but I said I'd call them back. I did and the Agent wasn't at his desk so I left a message and he called me back in 1 minute. He gave me information that would save me $75 a year. He said I'd have to sign the papers..duh..Did I want to do it over the computer or should he send me the papers. Also there would be a one time charge of $15 added to feel. I said send me the papers. He said he'd send them to me and would include a self addressed stamped envelope. I got the papers the next day. The envelope was hand printed with both my address and the company's return address. Not the neatest of Printing either place. I opened it and The inclosed return envelope was all printed the same way, very messy and unprofessional. He had printed my name in upper left hand corner, return address. Then the address to send to was his name Mario Gutierrez only and No mention of Farmers Ins. Co. Oh and almost forgot...no stamp on the return envelope. I realized that the quote he gave me was for just Liability and I wanted Full coverage. I called him and again left a message. I have yet to receive a call back. I have never received a piece of mail from any company, that was not professionally printed with their return address...It looked like he decided to 'Play Office that day and scribbled some envelopes with his return address on them. My friends and family said it all sounded fishey and that I should call Corporate and complain. I doubt if I get any satisfaction after reading everybody else's complaints. I am very glad I did not send him a check.

Warning. If you have Farmers Insurance and cancel your policy ask for a "Letter of Experience". This will show what they claim they have paid on your policy and that information goes on your record. This counts against you when you go to another company. In my case, they claimed they paid $1,000 on a claim for fence damage, they didn't - the repairs cost me $3,800. I finally got that taken off, now I am fighting claims they say they made for two 'no fault' accidents - they didn't. I paid those out of my pocket. This company should be avoided like the plague. After two weeks of trying to resolve the auto claims that weren't paid I am turning them in to the CA State Insurance Agency. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. They not only will not pay the claims but will lie about it and ruin your insurance record.

Hello, In December I was purchasing a used car. I needed to get coverage before I left the sales lot. I was given business card for Farmer's. I called and gave all of my information to the alleged agent. Babies were screaming in the background,(first red flag), she kept taking my credi card info down wrong and called me back no less than 4 times for the card information(2nd red flag). I was at the lot for over two hours waiting for her to fax my policy to the lot, it never came so I called the agent back to ask her what the problem was. She said she was working on it and hung up on me. I called back and got voicemail so I left a message to cancel my request. I proceeded to seek coverage elsewhere and it only took 10 minutes. More than three hours later, there was a faxed policy from Farmer's even after I asked her to cancel my request. Just to be safe, I had my card cancelled because I didn't trust the agent. Low and behold, a few days later the charge appears on my account. I called customer service and explained that I requested cancellation of the request and I had insurance elsewhere. The regional manager agreed to refund the money and make sure there was no policy and I received notice of cancellation in the mail. I also disputed the charge with my bank. To my disbelief, a week or two later, Farmer's has forced a charge to my account when I don't even do business with them. Needless to say I AM FUMING, THIS COMPANY IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, OVER PRICED, SUBSTANDARD SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED AND I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THEM TO MY WORST ENEMY. If you are considering using them I urge you not to deal with them. You WILL absolutely regret it.

TO: THE PRESIDENT OF FARMERS INSURANCE. I SEE FARMERS INSURANCE IS SPONSORING A PRO GOLF TOURNAMENT. LOOKS LIKE ADVERTISING IN LIEU OF PAYING CLAIMS. I WILL NOT BE CONSIDERING YOUR COMPANY AS AN INSURER SHOULD I CONTEMPLATE MAKING A CHANGE. REMEMBER THE KEMPER INSURANCE CO. THEY USED TO SPONSOR GOLF SHOWS TOO.

These insurance companies use everyones money to make terrible commercials on tv and radio so in essence we pay high rates for a slap in the face. Maybe if these companies quit the lame ads, our rates would go down. Its a huge scam.

We have used Farmers Insurance for over 20 years. The service for Car accidents was good. However the service for home was extremely poor. On several occasions we have had accidents happen and have found that in the long run it was cheaper to pay for the damages ourselves than have Farmers cover the bill. On one recent occasion, Our diswasher broke and water sat on our wood floor overnight. The floor is warped and needs to be either repaired or replaced. Since I had previous dealings with farmers and having found that it was usally cheaper to do the repairs ourselves, I called to find out what the ramifications would be IF I turned in a claim. As usual I found it would cost us more to turn in a claim as it would raise our rates for years. I decided not to turn the claim in. This was the last straw for us. What is the point of having insurance, if you can not use the benefits. I looked into other insurances and found one that my entire family is using and wnet for a quote. THE NEW AGENT SAID THAT SINCE WE HAD A NEW CLAIM THERE WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR OUR NEW POLICY. I STATE THAT I HAD CALLED AND INQUIRED ABOUT AN INCIEDENT, bUT FOUND AS USUAL THAT IT WOULD COST ME MORE AND HAD NOT OPENED A CLAIM. We called our old Farmer's Agent and asked that she remove the claim report and she refused. She was called several times by members of our family. At one point she hung up on one of them. We feel that there should be some loyalty on their part for the years of payments they received from us and our loyalty to them. I am now going to Farmers Corporate and then if no satisfaction I am going to the Insurance Commissioner of our state. At this point it no longer a matter of the money, it is the way we were treated and the dishonesty in opening a claim that I had not requested, I will hire an attorney. The company is Hayward Insurance of Bellevue, WA

Poor poor service, lack of professionalism by Jeff corona ca, stay far away. Never returns calls, iv made 6 visits 4 emails and 5 calls... All I ask was for my insurance to be cancels and he refuses to comply . I didmt pay and now I have a collection notice

I had a theft/vandalism to my truck on 11/6/12. I have had nothing but problems trying to get coverage for my speakers and amplifier. I have auto and renters insurance and neither would cover the items. I do not understand why. I also am asking about the wiring because every wire was cut. The answer I got was that because my truck was considered a total loss that I now have to pay for all that myself. I decided to buy my truck back and that was a very huge mistake. I was told it would only be about $40 to register my truck as salvaged and now I have to pay almost $200. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE SUCH GREAT PROBLEMS WITH FARMERS. I AM VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS WHOLE THEFT I WENT THROUGH. My renters adjuster was very good and did help me out through the entire process. She informed me to talk to my agent regarding my equipment not covered. So I do contact her and she tells me that she has nothing to do with the claim. ALL I AM GETTING IS THE RUN AROUND!!!!!!

We had an electrical fire in our mobile home on Sat.12/10. We called the 1-800 # and spoke to a friendly rep. who gave us the name of the adjuster to handle our claim. After numerous calls it was later determined that the adjuster was for some reason not available until Mon. We were then told to call his supervisor who's recording advised that she would be out of the office until Thur. The 1-800 agent then said he would contact someone in our state, NM, because the others were in Mich.,,what? Our local Farmer's agent was not available nor returned our calls. We reached her after the adjuster arrived and gave us an estimate that totalled approx. 30% of other (unwritten) estimates received by other professionals I.e. fire marshal, plumber, power co.reps and electrician. We will now continue on our "6th" day without hot water. Electricity was resrored Sat. because of our refrigeration, phone service and heat, so far at our cost. We could not stay at a motel due to a total lack of up front funds and we repeatedly stated so, which was irrelovant to anyone we spoke to within the Farmer's realm. Foremost Ins. and a contract adjuster with "Help Point" Claim Services, Alan Yokely, nor our local insurance carrier whom we've been with for many years covering multiple cars/trucks and home insurance. We are now required to get multiple estimates from plumbers, carpenters,& electricians to submit for complete restoration/repair,maybe. You never can be sure what you're going to get even after years of faithful customer payments until misfortune happens. This has been a huge dissapointment and horrible treatment when quick and reasonable service was expected. There will be a change,,and a follow up, and I do mean UP! This is a VA mortgaged home and thank God, we are protected!

Our company has Farmers Ins for work comp, I had an audit in Sept, after audit I received a bill for an addition 5969.00 asked why as we pay for the whole year up front and they said do to the audit, I asked for a breakdown on how they came up with this and they said they could not provide it. I filed with the AZ Dept of Ins. as I have paid in advance and now am going to get cancelled because they just tell you that you owe without any backup, and of course anything government is backed up for six months. I would not do business with a company like this.

Ross Crisp and Sara Jahnke are terrible agents for farmers here in Central OH. Ross Crisp can't get his act together to return calls or emails, and Sarah Jahnke lies through her teeth. These people should get a Real job insteadof being blantent Liars !

Well, we finally figured out why our house payments and escrow payments went up over the last several years! When our agent Doug Kosley retired and we switched to a new agent you would think your policy stayed the same. Last week, we refinanced our home and found out our fire protection rate jumped from a 4 rating to a 9!!!! so for the last several years we have been over charged for insurance, raising out house payment alot! My wife spoke personall to doug when the new firse station open and fully staffed 27/7 less than 2 miles from our house and we have a fire hydrant at the end of our drive way. Farmers said they would lower our rate BACK to a 4 and refund us$00.00 for THIS YEAR. How about the other 5-6 years we were over charged????? We are contacting corporate in LA and the Insurance Division of Colorado. Keep you posted

Ive had farmers for over 15 yrs. Never had an accident until just yr my son rear ended a car. Yes his fault. You would think having a perfect record of driving for so many years there would be no problem, wrong! Not only did they raise my premium but gave me hassle on fixing my car!! After weeks of calling and seeing why there would be any issues on fixing my car. They fix it. Body shop did a ok job but now stuck with a high premium. So what do I do I look for cheaper ins else where. I find it and very please with my current ins. But now what does farmers ins company does to there loyal customer is take me to collections and screw my credit up! Grant it I was fed up with the way I was treated with the fixing my car and raising my ins rate I didn't want to call and tell them I switched ins company. They kept sending monthly bills but trashed them! I had another ins co before I switched to farmers yrs back and all I did was stop paying and all they did was drop me. But farmers they want to screw you for leaving them!! Stay far away from FARMERS INS unless you want to be Treated horrible and pay more then you should then feel free!!!

Should be a zero star rating for Kevin McWhorter w/ Farmers Insurance group. He double Talks and when he says sometging that reminds me of some Ivy League better than everyone else type of guy. He does not care about your satisfaction. And he very obviously does not read any e-mail sent to him. I plan on following this all the way to the top. Even after telling this what sounded to be old school white shoe, plaid pants that my wife is an executive with a company either as large or bigger than his company, he still does not seem to get the message. I am unsure of what it takes to be a Farmers agent, but this guy has no people skills, and seems to be way out of his element. It is as though he is reading straight from a script. Farmers needs to re-train these agents properly, and focus on people skills. Time to go back to school Mr.McWhorter I wish any of you thinking of using Farmers to contact me so I can let you see for yourself the e-mails,and lack of individual touch. No two customers are alike. But Farmers seems to be using a generic script for everyone. Would be more than happy to refer anyone who wishes to be treated individually and with respect by acompany far better than Farmers. I get nothing out of this, just the pleasure of knowing that I may help even one person from them. Back to school time Farmers.

**Farmers Insurance Group is the parent company of 21st Century Insurance** My current six month policy premium with 21st Century Insurance is $543.57, so imagine my surprise when I received my policy renewal the other day and discovered that my renewal policy premium will be increased by approximately 38% to $749.81! I have no idea why 21st Century Insurance feels the need to increase my premium by such an outrageous amount, as I have not had any tickets or accidents since I became a customer of their company last July, and the premium increase is far more than the 5% across the board rate increase that they notified me of in the policy renewal paperwork. Since there is no reasonable excuse for a 38% increase in my insurance premium, I asked them to give me an explanation as to why they feel that they have the right to raise my premium so dramatically. Since we live in a free market and I am not obligated to remain a customer of a company which is trying to rip me off, I reserve the right to find a cheaper insurance premium with another insurance company. If 21st Century Insurance will not lower my insurance premium to a more reasonable amount, I won't renew my policy when it expires on January 1st. Before I became a customer of 21st Century Insurance, I was warned by a friend (and former customer of 21st Century Insurance) that they are an unethical company and they would dramatically raise my premiums after the first six months. As it turns out, my friend was correct, and I was a fool for believing that they were an honest company. 21st Century Insurance is nothing more than a bait and switch scam!

Dig this! I just moved back to Michigan from California. I have been with Farmers for 32 years in 4 different states. In California, for full coverage auto I paid $72.00 per month. In Ohio, I paid $58.00 per month for full coverage. I just went into a Farmers insurance agent to switch me insurance to Michigan. Now, I have been with Farmers for 32 years. My insurance will go up here in Michigan from the $58 I pay in Ohio to $157.00 per month here. ??????????? I told him to jump in the friggin lake. I hav...en't had a ticket in 25 years and no accidents in 20 and my insurance will triple? Plus I have 32 years with Farmers. He said "Well, your longevity with Farmers doesn't follow you from state to state!" I laughed and said "Ah! Farmers wants loyal customers to stay with them no matter what state we move to but, they don't want to be loyal back and not count 32 years as a customer?" I told him to take a leap. I will keep my Ohio insurance until I have to renew which is in June 2012 then I will find another company. WOW! Loyalty means nothing these days! I am afraid they just lost a life-long customer of 32 years!
