Food is good, reasonably priced, place is clean. My only complaint is tipping. I can’t eat and enjoy myself when all I hear about is complaints from employees that they only make $2.25 an hour and have to rely on tips. This is why McDonald’s banned tipping. I cannot trust that they’re not gonna spit in my food or drop it on the floor because I didn’t leave a $10 tip. If you want to pay them minimum wage and raise the price of food or add the price of the tip to the bill, that would be fine. But I cannot take the complaints about tipping anymore. I don’t know if they’re trying to get me to tip them better by complaining, or trying to get me not to come in the restaurant anymore. I’m tired of listening to people who claim they work hard and deserve big tips, when everybody else in every other industry works hard and doesn’t get tips. I made bagels $1.75 an hour and I never got any tips. My friend the auto mechanic used to put sugar in food service workers gas tanks, because they didn’t tip him and he was getting sick of tipping them or having them spit in his food. I got tipping banned at airports, because so much luggage was lost, from employees who thought they deserved $20 tips. Pay them minimum wage or better and ban tipping or lose all your business from people who don’t work in the food service industry, but worked hard for their money, without getting tips. I think a lot of people feel like I do, but they don’t want to tell you, because they fear retribution by food service workers, bartenders and waitresses. Anonymous using friends e-mail account. My husband and I recently stopped at the Big Boy in Wayland, Mi for dinner. Our waitress was prompt getting our order and bringing out coffee. However, we waited at least 30-45 minutes for our food which was definately luke warm considering our wait time. Neither of our finished our dinners. Our waitress even told us she wasn't sure what was going on in the kitchen. She was trying her best by bringing coffee re-fills. Not only extremely bad meal, but the ladies bathroom was filthy. Fortunately I used it as we were leaving or I probably would not have even stayed to eat wondering what the kitchen looked like. Help other than our waitress, very unfriendly. Just not one thing inviting about the establishment and we will not go back. These small country communities need business---but, not this kind that makes a patron not wanting to return.

all big boy restaurants are dirty but again I went to the Flat ROCK MI and it was beyond dirty and the big boy was served on a filthy black tray and the waitress did nothing and I told the manager when leaving and again no response so we leave hungry and out 25 dollars and I never hear back when I email so I guess you do not set an example of caring maureen newsome 734-308-6383

The BIG BOY in monroe, mi is the worst resturant for food, cleanliness, and personnel that i have encountered in the last 10 years. . We entered and there was no greetings by waitress. she was wearing a T shirt with a drawing on it and i did not know she worked there. she led us to the table and we sat for about 5 minutes before she asked us what do you want to drink. we ordered coffee, soup and water. after we ordered our meal we sat for another 10 minutes and had to find her and ask her for our soup and water before the meal came up. we received the food after another 10 minutes. The meal was cold and luke warm. (omelette) I had to find her 3 different times for more coffee. we finished our dinner and we talked about the business for about 20 minutes and there was no attempt to pick up dirty plates or even the question how the meal was and we needed more. The floors haven't been swept, dirty walls, seat cushions ripped, bathroom smelled like someone threw up in there, lights inop, ceiling tile brown and black. i could go on with a lot more items but i can say that i will not be going back. i contacted BIG BOY headquarters by phone but since its a franchise i do not think they will do anything about it.

I have been coming to the 12mile &hoover bigboys for some time and have been satisfyed in the past,but the last few months the breakfast bar has been horrible. The food looks like it is reserved from yesterdays breakfast bar most noticabley the eggs. The bacon at times is almost raw.The italian sausage&peppers looks like a reserve, reheat.This by far is the worst breakfast bar food ive had at any bigboy resraunt.will not be coming back to this bigboys again.

Bigboys in Warren,Michigan 12mile and hoover to be exact has a terrible breakfast bar.We stopped there Sunday morning and the eggs were very bad,like they were left over from the previous day reheated.The sausage gravy and the italian sausae looked like it too. Will not be returning to this bigboys again.

o.m.g ive worked for big boy for a few years now and ive never met a owner like ours. He has no people skills and no resturant skills. 1st how can payroll checks bounce? we cant cash our checks no where in the walled lk area. 2nd the way the owner speaks to us he has problems. I stayed working there cause i need the money, but he has no respect for anyone. comes in yelling at the employess like we aint shit. then theres our salad bar we have to keep ice in it cause it never works and half the time the products look horrible. The cooks mic 85% of the food and its nasty. they never wash there hands and have no respect for the resturant. I suffer working there day by day but it pay my bills. stuck at the walled lake big boy

i went to the walled lk big boys on Sat April 28, 2010. it was the worst place ive ever been. There was a guy the girl said his name was Sam and was the owner who was yelling and cussing at the girls. Then you could hear his big mouth all the way from the office cussing up a storm. Their salad bar was hot and filled with ice. You saw more girls sitting then working. The food was horrible and cold. I have never entered a big boys like this one and will never return. Wonderful restaurant the Brooklyn Big Boy the evening shift had dinner on Tuesday night. The girls worked together and got on dinner out to us in a great timely manner. We were visiting from out of town. Loved our ayce fish and chips will definately come back next time. Thank you for the great dinner and desserts. What a great clean and wonderful restaurant.

i have worked at 2 big boys in the last year and a half. i am personally disappointed in this restaurant and the way things are done. everything from the cooking process to the portions and the prices. they even have us lie about the way things are cooked (there is no broiler), most things there are cooked in a microwave (the entire thanks giving dinner, lemon pepper cod), but to me the worst of all is the child support that was court ordered and taken out of my check every two weeks was not sent to FOC, and when it was brought up to my GM and other management i was given the whole "ill talk to payroll on Friday" those Fridays came and went, and now i am left with a $4000.00 debt. i am one of those workers that puts his heart in his work and have fully established this is NOT the place to do so. if our paychecks bounce 75% of the time and our management is clueless and lie to you then there is no hope! i or my family will never set foot in a big boys again!

Please consider opening a "BOB'S BIG BOY" in Palmdale California. There is the perfect place for it on Palmdale Blvd off the 14 freeway, the old Carrow's building.

I went to the Turfway Rd. Florence, KY Big Boy today, and ordered a #2 platter - a Big Boy, fries and a drink. The cost was $6.54. I received what can best be described as a "Small Boy." Pathetically thin meat, stale bun, a handful of fries in an 8 oz. cup, and a 16 oz cup filled COMPLETELY TO THE BRIM, with ice. I've heard of the 70/30 rule, but I've never heard of the 100/0 rule. Literally 6 drinks from the straw later (I counted) and the beverage was empty. I took off the lid and the crushed ice still filled the entire cup to within a 1/2 inch of the rim. I took it inside the store and said - "Do you think my drink was cold enough?" and the manager looked me dead in the eye and replied "That's how we do it, fill it all the way with ice. You don't like it? Call corporate." Now, I can go to McDonald's and order a McDoouble, fries and an $1.00 iced tea and I'll receive the same size sandwich, with more meat, a small fry and a 32 OZ drink for $3.18!!!! Why would I ever go to Big Boy again, and pay more than twice the amount for less food???

I AM TRULY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE ORGINAIL BIG BOY AT 21 AND VAN DYKE CLOSED, IT WAS AN ICON. I REMEMBER WHEN YOU HAD THE OUTISDE WAITRESSES, BUT THE CORPORATE OFFICES HAVE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILTIY FOR THAT RESTAURANT NOT DOING WELL. THE RESTARUANT WAS DIRTY MORE TIMES THAN NOT, AND IT NEEDED A NEW FACELIFT. I DO BELIEVE IF YOU WOULD HAD SPENT THE MONEY TO RENOVATE THAT THE CUSTOMERS WOULD RETURN. BIG BOY IS A NATIONAL ICON. WE NEED ON IN THE UTICA/SHELBY AREA. A CLEAN RESTAURANT WITH GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE. DON'T BECOME ANOTHER A & W AND GO AWAY OR LET BURGER KING AND MCDONALDS BE ON EVERY CORNER.

We were recently traveling through the State of Michigan from our home in Ontario with my disabled cousin. We stopped into the Saint Ignace Big Boy. It was a Sunday afternoon and the place was quite busy.Our server was very attentive and we enjoyed our meal. The cream of broccoli soup was amazing! When trying to pay our bill, our Debit card would not run through their cash register.It was a new Debit card and we were told by the cashier Joan that it would not read. She went to get the manager to see how the problem could be fixed. The manager was in the kitchen helping the cooks as they were quite busy. She (manager Judy) came out to see if she could fix the problem. I explained to her that we had just recieved this new Debit card and that in Canada there is a chip in our card.We had this problem when we stopped for fuel in Sault Sainte Marie, but used an ATM machine to withdraw cash from. After realizing that we could not pay our bill,manager Judy offered to take me to an ATM. She pulled her car around to the front of the building and picked me up,and drove me to the ATM across the street. I was able to then pay my bill. She went above and beyond the call of duty for customer service to help us with this unfortunate situation. We will definately be back!

Recently we stopped at the Big Boy in St Ignace, Michigan. We were heading downstate for a wedding. We usually stop in Mackinaw City, but heard that they were no longer open. All I can say is I cannot believe this restaurant is still open with the conditions we walked into! It was literally raining inside the restaurant! There were buckets and tin pans (I assume they re-use these pans for food after it stops raining), everywhere in the facility. The waitresses had to literally walk around these pans/buckets to bring food out to customers. The manager was sitting at one of the tables toward in front of the waitress station with a few employees eating and talking very loudly. When I commented on her behavior to our waitress, she shrugged it off, stating that the employees were no longer on the clock! When I asked if the manager was available to speak with she told me, as soon as she was done eating she would get her! Needless to say, the manager then disappeared shortly after she was done eating and socializing. The food was ok, our waitress was attentive, other than that, we will NEVER return! Disgusting.

My husband & I took my mom (85) and aunt (95) to the Big Boy on M-24 in Oxford, MI on Labor Day so they would have an outing. Should have stayed home!!!! Cold building and cold food.....wasted $$$$$$. We sent the cold food back and new fries came after other food was gone. They were so salty we still couldn't eat them. We complained but still paid full price. Waitress was a sweetie....not her fault. Never again!!!

Went to the Big Boy restaurant in Wayland Michigan, the amount of food i got was the WORST i'v ever seen. I order bisquits and gravy, i got 2 bisquits and 1 tablesppon of gravy over each one,and it was a SMALL tablespoon!!!! i order a whole order NOT a side order, i called Wayland Michigan Big Boy and told them, they told me " the manager said that's how they serve it now" i told them i was in there 2 days before and order the same thing and it was NOT like that, they said " the manager changed the amount of food on everything, he said people was saying they where too large amount of food" Hmm, i think the manager was lying, again GREEDY MANAGER!!!!! Oh plus i only got 2 bisqits not 3 like before, plus the price did NOT go down !!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like Big Boys are getting greedy. I told them i will NOT be back. This was a carry out order on August 27 2011 time : around 10:30 - 11:00 A.M. I would rated this a zero but there is no zero. I will be calling your office Monday when your office is open.

My wife & I are retired and participate in many restaurants, But I do have a gripe about Big Boy Gift Card, Gift Cards are suppose to be same as cash but if you have less than a dollar left on it, you can not redeem it. This is what management told me.Can you imagine how many cards out there that can Not be redeemed. My advice is not to get any gift cards from BIG BOY Restaurant as gifts. Frank Kargol Petoskey,MI
