I CHECKED WITH ADT ON A PROMOTION THEY HAD THAT CLAIMED THAT THEY WOULD PROVIDE $850 SYSTEM AT NO COST, ONLY INSTALLATION. I WAS VERY CLEAR WHEN I CALLED THAT I WAS NOT UNHAPPY WITH MY PRESENT ALARM PROVIDER, AND I ONLY WANTED TO GET COMPARATIVE INFORMATION TO SEE IF I COULD REDUCE MY COST DUE TO BE LAYED OFF. THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD $99.00 WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION EVEN THOUGH I DECIDED NOT TO USE THEM. I HAVE MADE THREE CALLS AND WAS ASSURED THE CREDIT WOULD BE ISSUED IN 5 TO 10 DAYS. AS OF TODAY IT HAS BEEN 13 DAYS AND STILL NO CREDIT. THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME A NUMBER TO CALL THEIR BILLING DEPT. I WOULD NEVER RECCOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. THEY ARE ONE OF THE BIGGEST "BREECHERS" OF SECURITY I HAVE EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH.

The one star is for communication. I have tried to fix a simple matter of billing for six weeks. I get different information from each person I talk to and I have had NO reply to emails, although they promise a reply within 48 hours. Putting a lot of nonsense in your "vision and mission" statements about valuing your customers doesn't mean a thing if you don't actually follow through.

I have had service with Brinks which transfered into ADT. I ordered an add on and they had a dealer handle the install- Alliance Security, Louisiana. Even though I complained about how bad the dealer is and explained that I use to work for them, they still stuck me with them. The install guy calls me at 7AM even though the work order was from 8-12PM and asked if I could allow him in. I explained the previous day that my 2 yr old's room has the box in closet. The guy obviously cared more about making it easy on him than me. When he installed and tested the wireless contact worked half the time. Yet, he stuck to the install. I called cust service at ADT and they sent email to dealer relations. I was set up with another service call for them to install a wireless glass break. On the morning of that install the guy calls me at 11AM and tells me he does not have the part. Called and complained. Next thing that happens- dealer relations left message stating dealer no longer services my area and they do not have a corporate tech office near my location. Cust service told me they can transfer me to loyality dept for me to cancel. I told them I am not that stupid. I have the extended warranty which states they must repair or add on with no cost of labor. I then called the dealer and recorded the manager stating they service the area I live in and then told me they copy the 99 install check just for show. They do not charge customers for installation as ADT requires of them. I called Jack which is a dealer rep at 972-429-9042 and left 2 messages with no return. ADT corporate lied to me which breaches their warranty contract. Futhermore, when a customer is out of contract like I am, either party must send written notice of cancelation within 30 days of current billing cycle as stated in their contract. Best thing I know to do is file a complaint with the Fire Marshals office where they must obtain a license to sell and install in each state.

We approved an ADT Alarm System on December 6, 2010 and to this date it has not been completed. We notified ADT Headquarters in Fl for some help and there has been no reply. We need help and it is not coming. We selected ADT because we felt they were an organized organization, competive and marketing support would be available. No so. People local are nice and polite but the system has yet to be cut over. I would welcome an executive contact and telephone number to let him know all the details.

I moved from FL. to the Atlanta area and leased a Townhome on a one year lease. The owner informed me that since she already had an ADT system in place and that she was having it turned off that I should just give them a call and have the system reactivated. The next day I received and ad in the mail from a company I thought was ADT, as it turned out the company is an authorized reseller that represents ADT. I called them thinking I was talking ADT. That's where the nightmare begins, these guys will stoop to any level to get info on you. I was "crafty" enough not to give them my Social Security number, I did however after they agreed to only charge me $99.00 for set up and then give me a $100.00 gift card that I gave them my Amex number. Following that process they informed me that I would be expected to sign a 3 year contract when the technician arrive. At that point I told them that I had a one year lease that I wouldn't sign a 3 year contract. That's when the high pressure and bullying started. This experience has been a nightmare. ADT and their partners are not an honest group. If anyone try's to offer you service from ADT RUN away as fast as you can. These people are not honest. Do you want someone that uses the ploys that ADT uses to get you under contract to be in charge of the security system in your home? I don't!

My daughter and her husband were approached by an ADT salesperson wittn day's after they moved into the new home (1st time home buyers)and was told that if they displayed the ADT sign in there yard for one year they would received free service which could then be cancelled at the end of the one year period if they were not happy. Within the three day period my daughter had read the contract a little more closley and found that it was not a one year contract nor was it free and so she called and spoke with the representative and did try to cancel. The representative begged her not to cancel saying he woudl get $250.00 deducted from his pay check and that she could work things out with ADT. A few day's later she did call ADT and was told sorry you signed a contract and there is no way out. While visitng this week I placed a call to ADT and asked if they had any type of release from the contract based on hardship as these kids are having a very hard time buying food for there 18 month old, paying the house payment along with trying to keep up on the elctric bill so they can keep the heat on due to cut backs in both there hours and was again told, sorry, you signed the contract so you have to pay. The person on the phone went on to say there suggesiton was for the kids to file bankruptcy as that would be the only way ADT would let them out of their contract. Wouldn't you think the company would rather get some money than none! Bottom line ADT is a horrible company who employees sales people who lie and cheat......DO NOT USE THERE SERVICES. As for us we well be writting letters to the BBB with copies going to all of the local TV News Station.

ADT TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD REDUCE MY MONITORING AND MAINTENCE FROM 45.99 TO 36.50 THEY STILL THIS MONTH TOOK OUT THE SAME 45.99 THEY LIE DON'T BUY FROM THEM. DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR SPEND $3000.00 ON A REAL SECURITY SYSTEM. I USE TO WORK FOR THEM AND I WILL BE RIGHTING A BOOK AS SOON AS I GET A GREAT BOOK DEAL IT WILL BE CALLED WHAT EVERY SECURITY SHOULD KNOW.

Does anybody have an email address for President John B Koch? My wife and I had a horrible experience with one of their sales guys and we would like to send a letter documenting this to their corporate office. Apparently nobody at ADT can provide me with an email address, but only a physical address. I'm pretty certain that if I send the letter in that it will get lost in the mail there. I had cameras installed in my house. They have never worked properly. ADT does not return phone calls or letters. They spend a lot of money advertising for new customers. They would do better by giving some service to the customers they already have. I am discontinuing my service.

new customer. Sales rep told me I was getting state of the art wireless equipment.. yada yada.. Instead I was provided and basic ge console. Tech used the same sensor that was already installed in my house 10yrs ago.. and gave me a key alarm that looks like a freaking car alarm remote! I feel shafted by the local dealer...

I had an existing security system with ADT and was doing an add on building to my property. My contractor and I contacted the ADT rep in our area prior to building to have them do an add on and pre wire. The sales rep said we could not do an add on, but would have to install a separate system and because of location would have to have it cellular. So I paid the $900.00 for a new install and and was charged new quarterly amounts, when the installer arrived he asked me why I had not done an add on and pre wire to avoid 2 separate accounts. I was vivid and contacted ADT customer service and the sales rep and of course to date I have had no response except to contact the local office. We shall see where this leads. This is very deceptive practices as I am a widow and on fixed incomes 1/8/11

My name is John Vergot i'm a senior citizen on a fixed income and i live in Milton, Delaware 19968. I have the ADT security system and about two or three months ago we had a severe electrical storm which took out my phone service for about 12 days i have comcast phone service; and the technician after many trouble shooting attempts, found out that the ADT phone system was the problem as it was struck by lightning.Well he had to disconnect the ADT phone function to allow our phone service to be back in force, i was lost without my phone as i mentioned i'm a senior and can't affoed a cell phone.I then called ADT to report the problem , well they informed me i did not have a maintenance contract and i would have to pay about $165.00to have them look at the system. Well i could not afford that service and indicate that it was not a maintenance problem but a repair due to weather problems. They would not agree to fix the problem on their dime and that i had to pay $165.00 to get the service working again. So here i am paying my monthly payment for their service and it does not work.The bottom line is i would not recommend ADT to my worst enemy.I will continue to leave reviews like this to let folks know what a terrible customer relations the have and what a rip off their service is.Damn Mad senior. ADT salesperson promised us upgrades when we signed a 3 year contract with them, and we got NOTHING! The local sales team has been no help, they screwed up our billing and double charged us 3 months in a row. I called the retention department and they would rather cancel our service than to provide us with the upgrades they currently offer to their new customers! This is the most unprofessional company I have ever had to deal with. I would not recommend them to ANYONE!

Despite being a loyal customer for over 20 years, I recently fell behind 2 payments on my account. They never contacted me about deactiviating my monitoring service. Then on Nov. 29th, they called me and said that my service was deactivated on Nov. 22th. In reality, the monitoring service was NOT deactivated until Dec. 3rd. Then they insisted that I sign a new, multi year contract to reactivate my service which I refused to do. They will lie to you and do anything in order to get you to sign a new contract. Loyalty means NOTHING to them - they are only interested in the $$$. BEWARE of their dishonest methods on doing business.

ADT IS FULL OF CRAP WIT THEIR CONTRACTS. THEY CLAIM TO HAVE YOU PROTECTED BUT ALL THEY ARE PROTECTING IS THEIR OWN WALLET

I am looking to have Carl Monday of channel 8 news to look into the many complaints from customers of adt. They send you false info about rebates and will not place a live representative on their phones to discuss the matter. I want to feel safe in my home, but I will not refer this company to anyone. They have the worst customer service in the world. And just like all other illegal and unproperly ran organizations you will soon fall.......

I cannot believe the many phone calls I have made.I am done. If anyone asks me about ADT, I will give my heartfelt opinion. You never get a straight answer. From corporate to independants. Sending a rep out that terrified me. All he talked about was his boss that didn't have a life and just played golf. 6 weeks on the job. I told him I didn't want to pay any more for an upgrade, being a loyal customer for 16 years with Brinks. He got rude, and angry, slammed my screen door till I thought it would come off the hinges, and peeled out down the street doing at least 50 MPH, in a residential community. His boss assured me something would be done. SCOTT VOGT, but today when I talked with him, TERRY COLLINS was still going to people's homes. I am so dissapointed in the people that work for you.
