First of all, I think Weight Watchers is a wonderful program! I've lost 80 lbs so far. If you follow the program and don't cheat, you cannot help but lose. BUT, WW needs to limit class size in the Muskegon, MI meetings. They are so crowded now, there is often nowhere to sit! When meetings are too crowded, there isn't the opportunity to ask questions, make comments, or listen to success stories, "food finds", etc. We had an OUTSTANDING meeting leader, Cindy Kincaid, until last summer when she relocated to Battle Creek, Michigan. What a loss to the Muskegon area!! This woman is extraordinarily talented as a WW leader, and has a real gift to motivate. Our replacement leader is a very nice person, but is a new leader without the experience or knowledge Cindy Kincaid offered. Some of us have tried other meetings, but they are ALL so crowded, they are ineffective!! WW really needs to add some more meeting times in the Muskegon area! FINALLY, I agree with the several comments above: PLEASE lose Jennifer Hudson and her screaming!! This woman CANNOT sing!! She's loud, off key, and extremely irritating!! I can't imagine she will attract anyone to WW!
Wow ... lots of complaints ... if you used a CC to pay for your WW and think you got ripped the right to your CC and they will handle it. You are right some leaders are just not right for all people. I live in a fairly small town but found 2 different meetings, so if you don't like you leader move on if you can. Found our meetings to be ?clickish with a bunch of older ladies huddled together but that is OK ... ask questions of interest to you and all and you will do well. Find someone at the meeting you can talk to and maybe even exercise with. The program works if you work it... lost 30 lbs doing simple things to change, but you have to change forever ... grrr :-) Not a paid spokesperson ... and the Jennifer Hudson commercials are amusing .. don't be too hard on the young lady because your "Idol" contestant got beat out by her :-)
Weight Watchers does work if you journal what you eat & eat the suggested amount of dailyy points. The leader @ my meeting is very skilled--a natural teacher/motivator. However until she gets to the "lesson" for the week she's heavily promoting--aka: selling their processed shakes and bars. (Very pricey I might add). Off to the side wall of the lovely new center's meeting room are at least 50 corrugated boxes filled with this stuff! (Which leads me to the mystery of the missing calculators! My 40.00 kit has an IOU certificate in it to trade it in when the calcs. are available @ the end of March. Hmmmmmmm.....I checked & you can't put your name on a waiting list....so I probably won't get one! My theory is that Weight Watchers Inc. is REAL good @ making sure they have the consumable products (food!) available in stock & deliberately DON'T have the calculators. The profit for the leaders & corporate folks must be unbelievable for the consumable stuff. If I had the little calculator with me in the grocery store--it would be a snap to calculate points. When I've purchased Nutragrain Bars and other equal type products, taken them home, & calculated on their website--the nutritional values are pretty equal and alot less costly.
Who ever heard of a coroporate office that doesn't answer their phone?! I CANNOT believe the horrible customer service I've recieved with their billing department. First, you can't discuss those issues with costomer service - must bee done via email which takes days. Then, they don't even address the issues! I'm on my ninth email with them and finally found the corporate phone number. It's been ringing for 3 minutes as I type this. No operator, no voicemail - I am in shock!
I am pleased overall with the new Points Plus program. What I am not pleased with is the lack of customer service and customer care that Weight Watchers has. Middle of March, and still no calculators in site, poor, poor planning on WW part. I have tried repeatedly to use the WW web site since January, the failed message I get over and over is that the server is not responding. That would be the WW server, this is the ONLY web site I have ever had any trouble opening. So how am I supposed to use the online calculator when I cannot get online? We have sent three emails to tech support since the guy at the 800 number told me he could not help me. We have jumped through hoops doing everything tech support tells us to do and sending them the results item by item. Still the same problem. I cannot access the web site on a Mac or a PC, and tech support does not seem to be reading my emails and hearing what we are telling them. The last letter said the problem was probably that we are using Safari. Hello? You (WW) has an App for iPhones, and you are telling me that Safari is the problem. In the same email they suggest some other browsers to use, and guess what #2 on the browser list is, you got it, Safari. Another form letter. Thank heavens I have a good group leader or I would have cancelled immediately. They are taking my money and not providing the services they told me they would, eTools etc....
Scam scam scam - you starve to death - the fees are ridiculous - the people are rude and could give a rats butt whether or not you lose any weight - it is a scam.
ww does not work - i have been on it several times throughout the years and i have never been successful in follwing thier so called maintnance plan - who the hell eats like that? we nearly starved to death - and thsoe exhorbitant fees for what - someone needs to investigate behind the scenes of these people to see what is really going on - partially hydrogenated fats in their foods, use of aspartame, refined over processed foods- you might as well be fat for all the good it does you.
I have rejoined weight watchers since January of 2011. I at first attended several meeting in the first week as to get familar with the new " Points Plus" program but above that, I wanted to find the best meeting leader and mentor that made the program open, friendly and informative. The meeting I found to be the 'all'. and then some was on Saturdays. Our leader, Leah, was absolutely the greastest asset that weight watchers could of had. Yea, I sais "had". Every meeting Leah held was always filled to capacity and EVERYONE!- Loved Leah and the way she conducted the meeting and her approach and enthusiasm. Last Saturday, at the start of the meetin, Leah shared with the group that that was to be her last day. It was NOT her decision, but corporates. I don't want to dismiss the new leader that will be stepping in but why in the world would corporate let go of someone with so much to offer? Why fix whats not broken!?? I wrote a letter to a ww site and received an automated confirmation reply that my letter of question was received and a representative will respond. Her I wait......still no responce.. I'm sure they are still trying to come up with some sort of plausable explanation, or maybe they just don't care. I speak for our ww Saturday group in saying, Bring back Leah!
Every time the Weight Watchers commercial comes on with Jennifer Hudson, I want to ask her: "Why are you yelling at me"? Seriously, she is yelling the song. That is not singing. I refuse to do business with Weight Watchers for that reason only. I will go elsewhere.
The jennifer hudson commercial is the most horrid sounding thing i have ever heard in my life... She sounds like a rabid baboon during mating season. I wont let my wife do weight watchers even though my insurance covers it.... All because of that stupid commercial. Fire the idiot that came up with that one.
WEIGHT WATCHERS IS A SCAM!!!!! TOOK MY $ FOR MEETINGS I DIDN'T ATTEND, AND THEN I WAS INSULTED BY A FLOOR MANAGER THAT I AM AN ADULT.... BLAH BLAH BLAH... AND WON'T GIVE ME MY $ BACK.
Please loose the Jennifer Hudson screaming commercial, we have to run and mute the tv every time.
WHAT A SCAM...very dissapointed with staff's lack of information about the program they are selling. They neglect to explain the program and the fees. When decided to join I was told I would only be charged $39.00 a month, they charged my card twice, $80.00. When called custemer service was told that is correct, but told they have no enrollemnt fee, then what is the fee for. I will be disputing this charge with my bank as well as giving the San Luis Obispo,Ca store a piece of my mind. If 0 star was and option, I would select it.
I didn't know my own home would be come the weight watchers toilet!!!!! I alone really hate weight watchers information for entering my life!!!!!! I was happy til I was told by force I was going to be on this s&$@ program! May weight watchers burn in hell for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I want to lose weight I will just starve myself to death!!!!!! No thanks to weight watchers and thier bullshit I'm now close to making a bad decision to my life.
Is it really necessary to watch and listen to Jennifer Hudson screech the weight watchers commercial EVERY 35 seconds?! It's getting sooooo annoying. I have to keep muting my television.
I always liked WW and have no complaints about their diet. I do have a major complaint on what happened to mw when I last joined . I called and signed up for the special ($19 per month-able to use the online service if I couldn't get to the meetings.) When joining, I told the rep I only wanted a jump start and was interested in joining for one month. She told me she would lput in the end date for a month out from when I joined. Months later my husband was taking care of the bills said, I didn;'t know you were stil on Weight Watchers--they had been billing me $40 per month for the following 5 months. When I called the rep said I would have to send all the passes back. I only was dong it online and never opened them-- I thought they were just sending me mailing to rejoin. Anyway, very disappointed!!!
I started weight watchers this week. You need the calculator to really know what your points are. After the meeting they tell me they can't get the calculator until the end of March - Nice now what they say use your computer my ipad doesn't get adobe flash which you need for the calculator. That is just not right - they should have told me before I joined. I would have waited until they got they supplies together.
Geez, some people will complain about any and everything!!!! Move on, get over it. Weight Watchers is a good program and works if you do it the right way, but like anything else it is not a "miracle diet" or without flaws. I suppose some people just cannot be satisfied.
After my wife died, I decided not to continue my membership in the South Florida Weight Watchers group. I had paid $125.00 for additionsl weeks but did not attend the meetings. I requested a refund of unused meetings and was told I would get a refund but had to send in the new card to prove I had paid the additional funds. I sent a letter to "Herm", the guy in charge, explaining that I never received a "new card" and this was obvious from the stamps on the original card I was issued. After 3 months of not having gotten a response, I called Herm and was again told to send in the new card. I forgot about the problem until recently. I called and was told to send a letter with a copy of the check, which I did. To date haven't heard from him. Last week I emailed a customer service person in the corporate headquarters in NY explaining the situation and attaching the 2 letters I sent. NO RESPONSE!!!! My old high school gym coach Les Fein was instrumental in the establishment of Weight Watchers in the NY and NJ areas back in the 1950s. He must be turning over in his grave at the poor customer service. From some of the other comments I just read, mine is not an isolated care. Customer service appears to be non-existent!!!!!
