I have to comment on your Jennifer Hudson commercials. PLEASE REMOVE THEM FROM THE AIRWAYS! They are easily and by far the most annoying commercials of any on TV for the last year. It's time. You are not doing yourselves any favors having this woman screeching her horrible off-pitch notes as your pitchperson. I have to run for the "mute" every time it comes on and it has been going on long enough. In reading the comments above, I see that I am not the only person who feels this way. Please take pity on those of us who have televisions and ears. Thank you for your consideration.
I signed up online thinking that I could also attend the local meetings when I was in town, but that assumption was quickly laid to rest by a local franchise. So after talking with local franchise rep I decided to try attending their location, and visiting area franchises during my travels in order to keep current and not forfeit my membership. However, upon attempts at contacting Weightwatchers via the online website, IN ORDER TO SWITCH AND PAY MORE THROUGH FRANCHISE LOCATION, I found it is designed to frustrate the customer rather than aid them. So I call the tollfree number provided on the online website or 1-800-651-6000, and guess what it is disconnected. This corporation appears to be a great candidate for 20/20 or 60 minutes, BEcause it draws you in with its claims then is non-existent after you signup and they have YOUR MONEY!!
Perhaps I have just dodged a bullet. Why? I live in Airdrie, Alberta and today I saw an advertisement to join Weight Watchers. The price discount to $25 was meaningless in the face of being ready to lose weight. Well, if this group was set up to welcome new members, they certainly were not prepared to welcome everyone. So much for holding the meeting in a church hall; something has not rubbed off on these souls. Therefore, since I remain interested in losing weight and am not interested in going online, I will now examine your competitors; WeightWatchers seems to have enough customers. If your competitors know how to welcome a prospective customer and know the value of customer service, I am willing to pay their price – whatever it is.
Please get rid of the Jennifer Hudson commercial !! It is so annoying.... really it took for her 2 yrs to lose 80lbs!!we can do that without paying for weight watchers !!
WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I thought they were here to help yOu. NOT. The meeting I go to the ladies are the most unfriendly people I have ever run into. They can not even say good morning to you when you go in. But they take your money in a heart beat. have had such a hard time trying to get started and no one would help me. no one. I had asked about a few pointers to help guide me I got nothing. i HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE PROGAM AND JUST NEED A LITTLE GUIDE. VERY DISAPPOINTED WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY 60462 STORE
I am a member of WW and was attending the center in North Babylon New New York. I attended the Saturday morning classes with my leader Alice. It became apparant to many of us at this center that our center would be relocating to a nearby center, yet no one informed us of the date of the move. It seemed that the store was there but the finishing of it had halted. Then just a few days before the new center was to open they finally put up a notice that we were moving. That would have been fine except that we also became aware that our beloved leader Alice would no longer be at this new center. This was not only hurtful to us but somewhat of an outrage. How can we have been left SO in the dark up to the last minute? Why? We had always been taught that attending the meetings was a very very important and integral part of the program. I took this to heart and after having been a member many times in the past I actually stuck to it and was doing very well with the help of my friend and mentor ALICE. Now I find myself at a total loss. I do not have the opportunity to see Alice at the center that is closest to my home and the most convenient time for me. I see that Alice is not available at any center on the weekends. I feel that as a member the rug was yanked out from under me and I am truly disappointed. How do I now advocate this program to others when I cannot rely on the decisions being made without informing the members. I am asking that you please review Alice as a one of your finest and most successful leaders and giver her back not only her classes but her loyal members. Please do not break up 5 families of members that this effects.
Tried the 3 month trial for online last year then called and cancelled the membership after a month from my 3 month payment. Just found out a year later that they have been auto deducting my account $17.95 after I cx. They were using an account that I really used so never realized the money being taken out. When I called to inform the bank and weight watchers of what was going on they told me they would only refund me the $17.95 from last month and I needed a cancellation number that they gave me over the phone. I told them that was last year and I don't have a cancellation number. I told them to pull up online to see I haven't used the site, etc. They owe me $230 some dollars that they instructed me to send and email to the company so they can look into it. Yeah...like I'll get a response!! Well, I'm going full throttle with this so any advice from others having the same problem will be great. Thanks so much.
If there was a way to rate the Jennifer Hudson commercial worst than 1 star I would! I believe you are partially paying attention to the responses the public is giving about that atrocious choice and flat out GARBAGE COMMERCIAL!!There is now a new commercial that's aired with changes, what WW is failing to realize is the damage has been done. WW needs to completely remove her. Anything with her now will remind people of her assassination of the first commercial. Now she is snapping her fingers and she still sings like S@&%T!!! Cheryl Callan the senior vp of marketing if you are not paying attention to these comments you need to be axed faster than her. There is a I HATE THE JENNIFER HUDSON COMMERCIAL website and facebook page...Your attempt to gain broader appeal by using her was a dumb idea! The continual disregard of what is obvious is amazing to me. Music in commercials only work if they're either catchy jingles or current and relevant songs that actually sound good!!! so you can remember it all day not a song you have to ,mute or change the channel and prey you can forget!!! Come on Cheryl I thought that's why they pay you 300k plus a year to figure this stuff out, if a guy fresh out of college gets it WHY DON'T YOU???????
Same story as many above, Bad customer service by call center, No response after repeated requests for management intervention, Many changes to the program that require a significant additional investment to keep current, AND Snarky attitude from reps at call center. All in all, save your time and money for a program/company that treats you like a person not a source of revenue.
Weight watchers' website is poorly managed. It is constantly unavailable. This is straight fraud. They know this and yet they continue to offer this online service. I, like many other people have paid for a service and this company is charging customers for a service that they know they cannot provide. I have had many conversations with their customer service reps and managers and they all say they have not heard of this problem. This is a bold face lie. I hope to perhaps hire a lawyer and get a class action law suit filed against them.
Can you please stop complaining about Jennifer Hudson, since you watch so much television, get the 10 min workout plan and complain about that, you people are so annoying with your rants and raves about a person, (a huge talent). That girl has been through alot, and by the way, her voice is beautiful. Seriously, get a life and turn off your TV, and read a book, and get some ethics.
I am a receptionist for WW, and I love the program itself. I lost my weight on it and have kept it off. I hear many of the complaints you have, and I agree with many of them. In fact, I'll be leaving the company soon, so I don't feel too bad telling you a little bit about what goes on. The people working the meetings have about as much control over WW corporate as you do. It is every bit as difficult for us to reach them as it is for you. I know; I have tried many times, and spent hours on hold. Or I've emailed them and gotten stupid, insane answers to my questions. The problem is the company is HUGE and basically running amok. And the corporate part is rolling in $ but they pay the field staff, like me in an unfair manner. It's all based on percentages. If we get a lot of people, we make more money. But I work a small meeting and make less than half of minimum wage. I have my reasons for staying as long as I have, but it won't be for much longer. I'm fed up with working for free. And you can't IMAGINE how demanding WW is. They have stickers for this and forms for that and there's a ton of stuff to remember while you're trying to be nice and polite and the person you're weighing is talking to you while two other people are asking you where something is. It's a huge amount of stress for about $3 an hour for me. WW depends on former members (mostly women) to do this. They know that these women will feel a certain gratitude toward the company and want to "give back" and "enjoy helping people," and they feel they can give them a complicated "commission" structure that virtually assures that those of us in the small meetings never make any money. And they pay paltry sums to the churches that usually host the meetings. Once I was asked to scout meeting locations, and when I told one of the pastors what we were able to offer to the church for the location, he actually laughed in my face and told me that wouldn't even cover the electricity we'd be using during the meeting. He was right, and I was embarrassed to be working for the company. WW counts on people being nice and helpful so they can pay them as little as possible. And they have the nerve to hound us about looking professional on the job. Yeah, right. I'm looking real professional sitting in my business attire in a folding chair in front of front of a bulletin board covered in the pre-k class's macaroni art. I am always very nice to the members, but I'm not surprised some of the receptionists get testy. Of the four I work with regularly, three of us are on the verge of quitting. LB, I wanted to answer your comments about the credit card charges. I'm not sure what happened in your case, but usually the 39.95 is charged the day you buy your pass, which is good for a month. But then they charge you for the next month 2 weeks later. That's supposed to be so they have time to get the new passes made and mailed out, etc, but then they're supposed to refund any leftover amount when you cancel. But who keeps up with that? They probably make a lot of extra money that way if people don't call up and demand their money back. So, if they charged you twice within the same month, but not on the same day, that's normal. If they charged you twice in one day, you need to be relentless with customer service until you get your money back. Oh, and just so you know, the staff at the meetings have NO CONTROL whatsoever over any of it. They simply sell you the pass and send the paperwork onto corporate. They can't tell you when the money will come out or anything like that. I could tell so many stories, but the WW mafia would probably come after me.
Hi, my sister and I just joined weight watchers and began remenicing about our Mother attending the program years ago. I looked in my library and found her weight watchers cookbook by Jean Nidetch copyright 1966. Took the cookbook with us and showed it to the staff and they thought it was fantastic. Some really great recipes. Looking forward to being the second generation of weight watchers. Bytheway, the staff was very nice and the meeting area clean and neat. Sincerely, RoseMarie Smith
The WeightWatchers Website/database coding is so incompetently integrated that even though I completed the signup process, they had "no record" of me "in our database." Extraordinary. And these are people I was giving my credit card information to!! Good news is, they failed to run the charge by the next morning (and I never was able to log into their Website), so I followed my bank's Fraud Department advice and cancelled the card I used to sign up for WWOnline's time-sensitive "deal." Bad news is, this is an unprofessional, unaccountable, absolutely incompetent organization. I deal almost daily with major online commercial sites (Amazon, LLBean, Powell's Books, J.Jill, etc.) and have never run into this sort of problem. Rule #1 - If all you get is grief and a runaround when you try to give someone money for services on the Internet, get out fast, and don't come back. Running an online paid service is not a game--it requires due diligence, serious accountability, and 24-carat gold competence. WeightWatchers Online is like dealing with juvenile delinquents. Let the buyer beware!!!!!!
You need to cancel Jennifer Hudson. She was at the $35,000 +$10,000 additional photo op for Obama's birthday bash. There she was front and center with the man that his Obama care will delete nutritional counseling in his healthcare plan. That will keep many companies and insurance plans from paying for WW. Jennifer would have been better served by donating her $45,000 for WW scholarships for those who need the plan and can't afford it! She is only representing her race not her social conscious.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE STOP PLAYING THE JENNIFER HUDSON COMMERCIAL! HER SINGING IN THOSE COMMERCIALS IS JUST PLAIN DEAFENING!
After a year at WW my monthly pass address was changed I DID NOT CHANGE IT. I have not been contacted by anyone in authority from WW to explain how and why this happened. You can not attend a meeting without your monthly pass. This has caused so much stress I have gained weight. I was trying to become a life time member.. Now I am considering quitting WW and ordering Jenny Craig.
The Jennifer Hudson commercials are ANNOYING! I will NEVER uses your products or services because of this. Annoying people to the point of anger is unacceptable. I mute my tv every time shows go to breaks because of these commercials. She is ANNOYING and you all need to get rid of her.
Went to WW a few years back, and returned to find out there is no longer any pocket points tracker scale(s), unless I decide to be raped on Ebay, and buy one for $20.00, or less if I'm lucky. Of course I can buy a pocket point calculator that I do not wish to purchase, and I can go to the WW website, and do it all online. Guess what? Day three, and I'm still reading the points book, and not even close to getting things started on the website.....The pocket sliding points calculators were much easier to use, along with a pencil and notepad. Wake up WW. I am seriously considering just quitting, after less than a week, due to the fact that if I don't have a smartphone, or computer handy I can't track my progress. Is this fair WW? No. If I decide to leave town for a few days at a time, and not take a laptop, or have a smartphone, I could easily track with the slider and pen/paper. Stupid choice on your folks behalf to make anybody have to buy the pocket points calculator. If WW corporate does care (ha) and can point me ionto the direction of the paper sliding pocket points calculator I can be emailed at: cacheit@aol.com I will believe it when I see it.
I have been a WW member off and on since 1976 and find that the lifetime members are over-looked quite frequently in Southern Maine. (franchised here) and recently the meetings are not open to lifetimers free of charge until they weigh in for the month. some times there are weeks when one retains fluid and exceeds the weight requirement for Lifetime so one cannot attend a meeting free of charge until one is within the 2 pound weight guidelines, therefore, I miss the meetings until I am at the correct weight. I find this a set-up to fail. The lifetimer should have the option of weighing in on the week of choice. But of course what do you expect when a company's bottom line has become more important than its members?
