I half to say that pioneer uhaul service in cosby tn is horrible service i have three men that i am paying by the hour moving my stuff and they have been at the pioneer uhaul place since 2 pm trying to get a uhaul it is now 5:15 pm and this is rediculous they have done nothing but gave me the run around
what a joke to reserve anything from the victoria u-haul dealers! all it does is make sure they have everything booked for their inventory. if they over book, you get f@#@over! because they call you 30 min before pickup, that you are shit-out of luck with no rental, they are willing to trade you up for a price, which leaves no choice because it's too late to go somewhere else! sorry does not cut it when you have paid help waiting. i will burn the furniture and appl. before i will ever use u-haul again! hope you go broke, please don't use any u-haul ever
Awful billing system, and poor no accountability
I reserved a 17' truck one week ahead of time. The day before I was to pick up the truck I was called and told where I could pick the truck up. When I arrived to pick up the truck, there was no 17' trucks available so I had to rent a 20' truck instead. No problem, right? Wrong!! A new contract had to be created and since this was not a U-Haul owned rental site they could not change the original contract. Instead of the original charges of sixty something dollars, now my charges were two hundred and thirty dollars. The lady that rented me the truck said U-Haul would "fix" the invoice when I returned the truck. So I took the truck (after hours in Charlotte) I left the keys and original invoice in the drop box. Several days later I checked the charges made to my credit card..... Not only was I charged for a "round trip" but also charged for a one-way trip!!! So I left a message with U-Haul to fix my invoice(s). Today (8/11/2012) a person called me to "discuss" the charges with me. Actuall he called to tell me that I was screwes because I couldn't even tell him what happened because he kept interupting me and was extremely rude. How do you call a CUSTOMER to discuss something with them when in reality you don't want to hear what they have to say. I ended up hanging up on him because he was making me very angry. So now I am back to square one, leaving a message for someone in corporate to call me. Will I ever rent another U-haul truck? Right now I doubt it very serriously.
I've read all complaints and have problems with the Jersey City, Tonnelle Ave Office. Not all staff is bad but the General Manger Richard Mandyum is very un professional, Asst. Manager Scott beautiful people person and good customer service. But and regular no line work Nelson is very bad for that site. Genaral Manger allows him to run things and handle things in an un professional way. I've filed complaints and called back and was told they have been resolved with they are not. making complaint with customer service does not help they all work together. So my advice to all is do as I'm doing TAKE THEM TO COURT!!. I'm fighting for my rights It will cost me a little money to file a claim to have my dispute resolved the proper way. and it will cost the a lot of money in legal fees to appear in court then not resolving it in person.
Poor is too good of a word for this company, just by looking at all the complaints, seems to me U-Haul just does not care, they need to be reported to the Beter Buisness Bureua.
Heather, the manager of the U-Haul store on 1601 South Broadway was extremely rude and arrogant. I thought I had a reservation for a van that I made a day before (from another U-Haul store which did not have any). I only needed it for two hours to move some household goods. Their computer system does not accommodate a block of time around 2:30-3. So, I called over to the South Broadway U-Haul and was told they had one. I just needed to come in the next day and pick it up, When I arrived the next day, I saw the van on the lot but was told it had been rented out. Naturally, I lost my cool but Heather yells back to me that she is treating me like I treat her. Never apologized or offered any solution. NEVER go this place--they treat you like common criminals. I teach in the Business School and I told the regional manager that U-Haul will be on the list of poor customer service. By the way, the regional manager never called me back--I had to leave a message. Some service.
The Plano TX Los Rios U-Haul owner/manager Chedrick Franklin is a thief. I've had a storage unit with them since June 2008. I'm late always but I manage to pay on my unit including late fees each month. My mother passed away last yr & my father is sick and finally had to be put in nursing home & Im a single parent. I lost my job back in April & I'm financially crippled at this point & on the verge of homelessness. For July 2012 storage fees was late paying. On Sunday July 29 2012 I went to Uhaul to pay July storage fees & was successfull in paying it in cash like I do each month. I've only used my debit card maybe once/twice in the past 2 yrs. Well I'm thinking when I paying the fee on Sunday that this was for July 2012 but really it was for payment for August 2012 fees. Now unbeknowing at this time that Chedrick Franklin had debited my bank card $150.95 FOR JULY FEE without my authorization & I'm not enrolled in the automatic payment plan. My bank account is all JACKED UP WITH OVERDRAFT FEES >:0( So I called him told him he can't do this & aroganted told me he was trying to help. I was so upset I told him to reverse the charges & he said he would give me credit on my bank card $120.95, but the damage had already been done. I'm really UPSET at this point because what about my inconvinence of his illegal collection practices in charging my account without my authorization just because they keep my debit card number on file. I called the regional office in Plano & spoke to Ms. Melanie Ray she's in charge. She was so helpful & apologized said that he was not suppose to do that without authorization and since I'm not enrolled in auto-pay. She said that Chedrick did give credit of the $120.95, but said it will take a couple of days before my bank receives it, she also said she would credit me back my overdraft bank charges of $67. I appreciate her prompt attention to this matter, because she knew this wasnt right. This is why I'm very lury about using my debit card with mercharts/businesses because they will use your card without your authorization. This has been a very frustrating learning experience for myself. I will be clearing out my storage this month. It's a shame that manager/owner Chedrick Franklin thrives on cheating poor people by illegally debiting your bank card without your authorization. PLEASE KEEP GOING WHEN YOU SEE THIS STORAGE/TRUCK RENTAL, BECAUSE CHEDRICK FRANKLIN USES SHADY COLLECTION PRACTICING WITHOUT YOUR AUTHORIZATION ON YOUR BANK CARD, PLEASE RUN WHEN SEE THIS BUSINESS ;O(
We rented a 17 foot truck in Bangor, Maine and it was a very pleasant experience, we dropped off at Mitchell's Hardware in Franklinton, North Carolina. In fact they got it two days early so were able to rent it sooner. We had gone 1 mile over yes 1 mile not 5 or 10 etc and he charged us .44cents. We thought he was joking since they got the truck two days early but he wanted the .44 cents. Then for 5 days we were unable to locate an old picture I am talking antique very valuable from the late 1800's. We searched and searched to no avail. Yes this is partly our fault for not checking the truck better. We were beginning to think the people who we hired to unload it had taken it. I called Mitchell's Hardware where we dropped the truck off and asked if they had found anything in the truck that was long gone and we were told, " Oh yes we have a very old picture here, it has been here all week." I called the office in Bangor and just ran this all by him for the heck of it and asked what he would have done , and he said well I would have seen who had rented it last and called them and I also would not have charged you the .44 cents. I found this to be inconsiderate about calling us and are you that poor that the money will bail you out.
I'm a single mom who needed a truck with a car dolly, the gentleman didn't know really what he was doing,he had to get help.it took a long time.the next day I took my car back, which my plans changed so I took it back the next day, took my car off and the steering wheel just goes round and round,it will not steer at all. They tell me there's nothing they can do.I do not have a car on top of being a single mom,so thank you uhaul for not taking care of what YOU broke.People do not use uhaul unless you have money to throw away.I wish i could rate them zero.uhaul is the worst,i will go on every website to say it,I will tell everyone I know not to use uhaul period.
Tried to rent from U-haul in Richmond, IN on 7/12/12 for 7/15/12 was told didn't have trailer I needed. Called today (7/17/12) for 7/21/21 was told won't have trailer for then. I can see for 1st time, but 5 days in advance what is problem. Have booked 1 out of Oxford, Ohio 22 miles from Richmond, IN and 35 miles from where I live 1 way. Thinking of cancelling this is a joke how many days in advance do they need 2 - 3 weeks? I am sure no one in the corporate headquarters reads these anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I rented from U-haul many times I'm done.
I live in Redlands,Ca. and called one of the UHaul rentals here in town. The first location I called they told me they didn't have a 10'ft moving van. They tried to rent me a 14ft. at more money. So,I called a different one in town address(1521W.Rdls Blvd.) AAA American Automotive. They also repair vehicles there,it's like a Mom&Pop location.I rented a 10'ft. truck and left leaving them $100.00 cash because I didn't have a credit card.I drove to Riverside and round trip total=32.5 miles.I used it for a 1/2 hour.I'm a Severe Dyslexic and have a very hard time with Numbers. They told me the total came out to $108.00 so I could pic up 10 bicycles and fix them up.I told my wife and she will call and see what's going on.I'm not that smart with Numbers but,I'm not retarded.I will never do buisness with either location again.UHaul Sucks!
I rented a truck out of Bangor, Maine and they were super to deal with and the truck was clean and he (Dave) made sure everything was good to go. I brought it to Franklinton, NC at Mitchell's Hardware and they did a quick check to make sure I had gotten all my belongings out. Then I was told I owed for ONE mile over yes one mile. I thought he was joking at first and he said no that I owed 40 cents with 4 cents tax. I paid the 44 cents. I even returned the truck two days early in case someone needed it but that did not matter. I should have left it sitting for two days in my yard. Then for five days we were looking for a framed picture (an antique) and could not find it. We began to think perhaps the people we hired to unload it had taken it as it was no where in our belongings. I finally called Mitchell's Hardware and asked if by chance it was found and I was told yes it was there and had been since we dropped the truck off. I called the gentleman in Bangor and just for the heck of it I asked him if you were to find something left behind in a truck what would you do well he said I would find out who had it last and call them. I also mentioned the mile over and he was astounded about the mile. I told him if it was 5 or so I could understand but one mile. Is the company hurting that badly. I feel that out of courtesy we should have been contacted over the belongings left behind. Should we have checked more closely yes but it was an oversite on our part but the place of business just had it and never considered the fact we just spend over a grand to rent it and I guess the 44 cents will bail them out plus they have no respect or courtesy with the public. We will go back to Budget as they treated us good. We were told U-Haul is great so we tried but never again
I have tried for days to get the uboxes I need shipped sent to the correct locations. It seems like an impossible task, I have 8 numbers for uhaul boxes and every one of them passes the buck, gives me a new number and name and not a a thing happens other than your boxes are being shipped to the wrong location. I will never rent anything from uhaul again and it isnt the local folks that are the issue it the buck passers on the phone. I have a large investment that cannot be replaced in a ubox and I admit that I am the fool here. I also suspect uhaul couldnt care less they are renting trucks like crazy because there isnt enough good competition. If I ever move again I will buy a large truck and sell it at the other end for a loss before I give these ))*ers another nickel.
The 26 ft truck I rented broke down three times. It turned a 21 hour drive to Arizona into a 3 day trip. I had to pay my driver/mover for an additional two days. First the truck began smoking inside the cab on the first day and we were stuck in Oklahoma for 4 hours; second we had no headlights to drive at night (caused over night stays): next we had a blow out; as we tried to make up time once we were 1 extra day into the trip. The headlights we horrible and we could not see. Low beams--one was cocked towards oncoming traffic the other off to the right into the bushes..only high beams worked but distorted oncoming drivers view. We stopped in New Mexico as we were holding up traffic not being able to see on the road. The final leg..the truck lost power most of the day down to 17mph!! We were stopped on the I-17 in heavy traffic unable to move!! After 2 additional days on the road, my costs to the driver included 2 more days... I get a call from Uhaul offering "half of my rental refund and 2 days hotel" as settlement. I am out 1157.72 rental, $240. hotel, $1000. driver, $800 gas and 2days on the road in an unsafe truck....Unbelievable that I got such an offer. I had already paid my driver for two days ($1000 (driver wage/per diem etc)....a 21 hour drive and the unsafe truck cost me 2 additional days!! Am I not entitled to at least my additional costs?? I could have been killed on the road on tow occasions and they offer me $853.00. NEVER RENT AN UNSAFE TRUCK FROM UHAUL. WE SHOULD BE PROVIDED TRUCK MAINTENANCE RECORDS anytime you rent. Is there a "0" stars? Went to pick up truck. Place closed. Told truck was somewhere else. Nobody told me; movers show up and waiting. No truck. Third try. Called reservations and customer service. no help. 2 hours and 23 minutes, 15 phone transfers and tons of rudeness later, my phone battery ran out. No truck. Ditto to all the the comments. Never again U haul.
I rented a Van from the uhaul place at 3101 South Federal Highway, Boynton Beach and I was overcharged for my mileage.. When I went to the van it was over in mileage so I called over one of the uhaul employees to look at it and he told me "it's fine your good to go" so I still took the van. But the crazy part about is that he wasn't the only one telling me that the mileage is ok the mileage is over. Long story short I go back the next day to drop off the van and when I when to check out they told me I was over in mileage so I will me charged for the that.. And I told the employee that two other employees told me that I was fine long ass I bring the van back with the gas over 1/2 i was good and one of the employees was there and I told the man that and the guy that told me "they never check the mileage" said that I was lying! I was so mad and hurt I cant believe he said I was lying
was going to write my grisly story but after reading these let me summarize: ditto!
I made a reservation online to rent a UHaul van from this location in May on a Friday night for a Monday morning. Instead, I rented one from Produce Pro on San Pablo which is closer to me. I told the guy at Produce Pro I had a reservation already, but he worked it out so I could get the van from his site. My May bank statement arrives in the mail and I look over to find that I had a transaction for $50 deducted from my account from Piedmont Automotive on May 21. I called to tell them it was a mistake. The guy told me he could not give a refund and left me on hold for about 5 minutes. I called back a few minutes later and told him I would just come in. I arrived about an hour later and the guy at the desk was a different person than I spoke to on the phone. I showed him my statement and he told me to call customer service. I asked him if we could call them from there to clear up this matter. He wouldn't call them and told me he didn't owe me any money and left. I picked up his Iphone and stuck it in my pocket and told him to call customer service. He refused. He became belligerent with me. told me he would physically get the phone from me. I told him I would give him his phone after I talk to customer service. He shut the doors so I couldn't leave, I was in there with 4 men, the doors shut and he wouldn't let me out. Finally, I got to call customer service and they wouldn't help. As I was getting ready to leave another huge guy was coming in the door. I threw the phone on the floor as the guy called me a bitch. The guy from Produce Pro helped me get my money back. He was patient and I told him that the situation at Broadway got really ugly. I am a 5"2, 52 year old woman just wanting to get my money back that I was wrongly charged for. This guy was big and tried to intimidate me. I was just wanting my money back from a transaction that was incorrectly made. That's all! If you want to rent UHaul please go to Produce Pro on San Pablo. Stay away from this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Uhaul is terrible. My truck was in an accident and I called the representative inform me that I wouldn't be charge turning in the truck later however they went into my credit and took money out 2 weeks later. Uhaul collections department sent me an email and stated they would give me my money back however that never happen.
