Worse service ever

It has almost been a month since I filed a complaint and yet have reached an agreement to my satisfactory. I've been getting the run and it's their fault that I was behind schedule and spent more money that I planned. I spent over $600 not including gas; the most they has offered me in return is $100.00. I am highly pissed and upset. They keep saying someone will be contacting me, but every time I speak with them, I have to call them.

Reserved a truck and trailer one month in advance for a March 31st move. I was called two days prior and told that I would have to pick it up from a storage company a block away from the actual u-haul dealer as u-haul did not have the equipment I needed, no problem. Sat and waited 45 min for the storage co. to open after they called me and were very adamant that I be there at 9am to pick up when they finally showed up I was assured everything was ready to go. When my driver and I started guiding the car onto the trailer we got the first set of wheels on the ramps and the trailer popped off of the ball hitch. Upon closer inspection I noticed that they had set the trailer on the hitch without making sure the nut was loose so that the key would fit into the right spot on the hitch. After properly securing the trailer to the hitch we were able to load the car. Before departing the property we did our brake check to find the trailer has no brake lights or turn signals, when we informed the storage co. they instructed us to drive the block down the street to the actual U-haul and have them repair it, which was a waste of an hour and a half. Long story short we were instructed by U-Haul to repair their equipment ourselves!!!! What kind of rental company not only outright refuses to repair their equipment but also tells its customer they have to repair it and incur the expenses. So now we are in our second week of trying to resolve this issue with U-Haul as there customer service agents keep giving us the runaround.

DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING

I am writing this because I am very unhappy with U-Haul. This past weekend I rented a cargo van for a move I am making. Their website asked me how many miles I was going to drive and I said 300, then I saw next to the cargo van listing: "$19.95 plus unlimited mileage." I paid them the $103.17 they asked me for when I rented the van only to find out today when I returned it, I all of a sudden owed another $64.00. When I asked why this was, I was told that "unlimited mileage" really means that only the first 100 miles are free. That is not what the website states. I was then told that if I clicked on another screen, I would discover this. I saw 19.95 price with unlimited miles and was charged almost $90 daily use of the van plus $.29 per mile after the first hundred miles. To me this constitutes false and misleading advertising. If it is not "unlimited miles" and the miles are, in fact, limited it should state this instead of $19.95 plus unlimited miles. This negative experience has turned me completely against using U -Haul in the future. I am going to file a complaint with the appropriate authorities.

Are you kidding me...

I have used UHaul many times being a 23 year veteran of the military and this was the most rediculous experience I have experienced. I made a reservation on a Friday afternoon with the promise I could pick up a car hauler that day, all I needed to do was wait for a call to tell me where to pick it up. No one called all afternoon and when i called an hour before everyone closed, I was informed there were no trailers even in the area. Thanks for the profesionalism and weak cutomer service. You altered my entire weekend plans and not for the better, not to mention the extra expense you cost me. I have visibility on hundreds of service members that make countless moves in this region. Your lack of service may have just cost you an great number of referrals from me as I will most definitely recommend a competetor. Have a nice day.

This is a rip off

This has been the biggest nightmare dealing w this companyof my life...i would not advise anyone to give any money to these people....for any reason find another route after spending over 300.00 that was not a correct charge to start with i still ended up not getting truck ...it is a night mare dealing with these people... I have made over 20 phone calls to u-haul customer service reps just to be continually run in a cir cle.. This office is worthless for helping anyone...

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Terrible customer service do not get anything installed on your vehicle. I had a electrical hook up and hitch. I have no brake lights or running lights on my trailor and they said I did something to it to make it not work. Needless to say i will be charging them back via visa and will not paying for this. I gave them a chance to fix it and they were rude and pretty much ignored me.

WORST BUSINESS TO DEAL WITH

They change our location 3 times made us drive an extra 20 miles at 99 cents a mile!!!!!!!! they will not guarantee your pick so basically you drive where ever they want you to to get the truck. When I called their customer service they hung up on me 3 times and all they kept saying was sorry I understand your frustration but there is nothing we can do for you. We are very sorry to lose your business (in other so sorry you called us to bad deal with it) that's if they didn't hand up on me first!!!!!!! Do not use them go with Budget they are much better!

confrused with coop.

I have been a part time Employee for entitiy 87751 For 7 years. Our buisness is uhaul rentals and bait shop.A few years ago he coop. told us about uhaul moving helpers. We tried it out and did well 5star rating. Our RSM rescently told my boss that out sales and rentals were up. Our AFM has been hounding the staff including myself that Uhaul recscently got rid of all moving company acc with Uhaul and that we must have through the cracks hes been hounding us with this information regurally the other day he told us that he had opened another location because he was sure you were about to shut down a 20year old dealership. Last Friday early he came and got everything and didn't tell us why. My boss has called both afm and rfm with now responce. Please tell me if it was becaoouse of the moving co. Your cooperation talked us into doing it. what the heck is going on. Please call Andy.

I have spent a week trying to get a daily rate on a 20' truck. I don't know when I'm moving, but I am trying to figure costs. Do you think their Customer Service can give me such a simple thing as a daily rate on a truck? No, they can't!

FRAUD

These guys fraudulently took monety out of my bank via credit card without my authorization and over charged on the contract. I wrote the President of the company and he didnt have to professional courtesy to respond. So tomorrow, I file in court as well as file a criminal complaint with the local district attorney.

I tried to arrange all my moving needs one month in advance so that I would not have so many concerns when it came time to make the move. I reserved my truck from the dealer on Arendell St. in Morehead City, NC and thankfully got a reservation number. I called the day before my move and was told I did not have a truck and if I wanted one I would have to go miles further to pick it up because they were not going to have it at their location even though I was reserved at their location. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find another truck anywhere close by here or I would not use UHaul and I will never use them again because of this experience. This is totally unacceptable, especailly after making the reservations a month ahead of time. Take my advice and save yourself a lot of grief. Go somewhere else. Do not use UHaul.

Your company is not customer service friendly and it cost me $200. 00 to make a wasted trip to calif. to rent a tow dolly to bring a car back to oregon and they refused to rent me one and said that the truck was to small and that it would not tow the car. the car is a model a ford and that is a light car but they argued with me and refused me any type of help this was at your company yard on El camino ave in Sacramento, calif. THANKS FOR NOTHIING

the uhaul company called conway u storage in conway arkansas has made unathurized withdraws from my account to the point i had to change accounts and take legal actions. beware of these poeple this company allows to represent them. i wish i had never did buisness here and will never make that mistake again.

BOTTON LINE THIS COMPANY SUCKS (NO STARS)

I received a confirmation that I could pick up the 8 by 5 trailer -- called and confirmed; however, the business was closed when I went to pick it up. No one told me that they would be closed on a particular day. I had to find another store in another town. Ridiculous!!!!

Potential Nightmare -Legal & Safety Concern: Rented a room at Uhaul to declutter my home to put it up for sale. Am I NOT responsible for a room listed on my contract? -Because that is what the paperwork says. While I have had two men with meth mouth "assure me" I am "not paying for the "extra room" but there is no way to delete what appears on the invoice.." WTF? -One of them is the "GM"! I am struggling with PTSD, pancreatic cancer, listing & selling my home, cleaning it, & many extra bills associated with the aforementioned. Am I supposed to "TRUST" U-haul? Or "have to move my stuff again by myself?? Don't you want to know what these creeps have in this "other" room (that it appears "I" am responsible for)? These creeps know where I sleep..

I am writing this letter of recommendation for Shane A. Cheatham general manager for U-Haul at 107 N. Chester Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93308. I would like to thank Shane for all his help over the past couple of years he has proven himself to be a man of professionalism and integrity. Anytime I needed a truck Shane was always there with a solution to whatever packing problems may have existed for my moves. Thank you Ralph McCracken

The Odenton, MD location has absolutely no customer Service skills at all. One of my worst experiences throughout the entire process.

The customer service on peters st Atlanta Georgia needs improvement. I came to pay on a reserved unit. Deangelo started to help yet stopped to take a phone call from a customer looking for quotes. We are paying customers and had to wait costing me more money with my movers. I work in customer service. The rule is help the people in front of you and put the ones on the phone on hold. Thanks for the storage
