BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA - Store 41 Having a father 88 years of age is a blessing, unfortunately, age often brings problems both physical and mental. Although my father is in wonderful health physically, his mental capacity is diminished. As a result, we have an aid who drives him and assists him. I gave my father a coupon for an oil change for his car and asked the aid to drive him to Tire Kingdom just to get an oil change. After a short time, a representative emerged and approached my father and informed him that his car was not safe to drive and he began to run off a laundry list of mandatory work that needed to be done immediately, so that the car would be safe enough to drive. He was told that his tires were worn and he required 4 new tires. The salesman informed him that there was a special enabling him to purchase 3 and get 1 free. He was quire surprised that he needed new tires, however he was now frightened and reluctantly agreed to purchase 3 new tires and get 1 free. The representative also stated that the wheel alignment would be included in the purchase price. This information was later relayed to me by my father's aid. My father came home and told me that he bought 3 new tires and received 1 free. I thought nothing of it and dismissed the entire visit. Several weeks later I received a letter from Tire Kingdom with their credit card. Imprinted on the card was my father's name. I immediately contacted the credit card company, furious that they had issued a card in his name. At 88 years of age, my father enjoys outstanding credit and does not have the need for a "Tire Kingdom" credit card. The credit card company said that my father had obviously applied for a credit card. Be very clear. My father is not capable of completing any type of form and can bearly sign his name. I spoke with the aid and she informed me that my father had handed the sales person his usual credit card and assumed the charges were applied to that card. Apparently the sales clerk had performed a bait and switch on the receipt and my father signed a receipt for a new credit card! No form was completed. This is absolutely immoral and completely dishonest. My father could not possibly complete an application and if the sales clerk had filled one out for him, and asked him to "sign" below, he certainly could have been taken advantage of. Be very clear. This trip to Tire Kingdom was purely an opportunity to get out of the house and complete a small task....an oil change. NOTHING MORE. I went to the store, talked to the manager and he said it wasn't his responsibility. I have complete Power of Attorney and I intend on filing a complaint. I would have paid for the tires and the oil change but to receive a bill for almost $900 is shameful.

I purchased 2 tires from Tire Kingdom at 463118 State Road 200 in Yulee Florida a few weeks ago. A nail was in the tire & since I wasn't near a Tire Kingdom went 2 get the Tire taken off so I could take the tire back 2 tire kingdom 2 get it fixed, but the other store couldn't get one lug nut off & so The service person marked the lug nut & I had 2 take it back 2 whomever (Tire Kingdom) put the lug nuts on. I stopped by this Tire Kingdom location at 12:30pm & asked them if they could get the lug nut off, since they put them on & in the process of taking off the lug nut, it broken taking the stem & whole lug nut off, then after trying 2 get another lug nut off they broke another lug nut. The person who was at the desk said that they had found 2 lug nuts & he would only charge me 4 the lug nuts & the repair 4 the tire not any labor charges this was around 1pm & I informed them that I had a funeral 2 attend at 3pm he said it will only take about 20 minutes, well 20 minutes turned into 2 hours & 30 minutes.
Just wanted to pass this along. While I was visiting my mother in Orlando, I now live in Fairbanks AK, the water pump gave out on her car on North Alafaya Trail. I'm sorry to say that I didn't get the names of the people who helped pushing the car to a safe location, Mike Bleichwehl and some of his crew came out and finished pushing the car over to "Tire Kingdom" where they gave it a quick look over, engine was super hot. After explaining what was wrong and how much it would cost they gave us a ride home, leaving the car to be repaired. Time was 10:17, at approximately 3:20 they car was repaired and they returned to my mothers house in Union Park and picked us up. A big Thank you to Mike, Wilfredo and Martin and the whole crew at the "Tire Kingdom", Super service!!
Understand the lack of service is because corp. Takes commision away from employees when. We sell tires. The only way we make more than min. Wage is to rip you off. We want to do good, but what would you if your pay is based off gross profit ... I don't want to sale you tires, it cost me money to do so. Same with oil changes and tire repairs/prorations. I am in the poverty level of less than24k a year. Get a freakin life, the company is getting what their paying for. Come see me at their competition. I promise my service will better as I can afford to eat again.
They installed the wheel balancing weight incorrectly causing my wheel to weakin and blow out due to the wheel weight rubbing the break caliper! The manager then lied to me and told me to stop by the next day and he was off! This company is a huge piece of $hit!
I have been a customer of Tire Kingdon since 1997. I went to the store at 238 Blanding Blv. Orange Park Fl. on 09/08/11 to have my tires rotated. I have noticed recently when I go to this store that they check the fluids, brakes, suspension, etc when you come in. In the past, I've told the manager on duty that I have a regular mechanic that takes care of this for me as well as the checks I do on a regular basis. This time I told him I had just had complete service done to my car just two days prior to coming to the store and that they need not waste time doing this. Shortly, my car was brought into the shop and the mechanic started doing the checks that I had asked not to be done. I went back to the manager and said this really was unnecessary. His response, "I would rather be yelled at for doing my job, than be yelled at for not doing my job". Correct me if I'm wrong, but when a customer tells you not to do something to their vehicle other than the work requested, shouldn't this request be honored? Do all the Tire Kingdom stores do this? I feel that this is just another way for a company to sucker a customer into having additional work done that is not needed. For the less savy customer this could lead to hundreds of dollars out of their pocket. I have to say that after many years of dealing with Tire Kingdom I have noticed a difference in the attitudes of the guys that work in the shop as well. They all seem to to be worn out and they don't stay long. What has happened to your company? I know that when it comes time for new tires, I will not be coming back to Tire Kingdom. I would appeciate a response. Kenneth Casler caslerzoo@hotmail.com
I Brought My Car In For An Oil Change, (With A Coupon) They Told Me I Needed Tires, Etc. For 350.00, I Said No, And They Had An Attitude. About A Half Hour Later, My Car Had Overheated For Lack Of Water In The Radiator, (Shouldn't They Check That Or Was It Deliberate)... Which Destroyed My Engine, I Refilled My Radiator, And The Water Remained, No Leaks, Fans Work, Etc, Also The Oil Was Overfilled, I Have Gathered Thousands Of Complaints, If This Matter Is Not Resolved ASAP, I Will Take Immediate Action. Recently had the misfortune of working for this crap company. The manager of the tarpon springs fl store(mike fick) agreed that iwould be paid $9.00/hr to start. After nearly four weeks on the job I still had not been paid! So one day I asked what am I making here anyways? He looks in the computer and said $8.00/hr. Like it was normal! I said that isn't even close to what we agreed on. So he said he would take care of it. An hour later he said it was taken care of when it in fact wasn't. After about another week I did some research myself to fi.d that he had been lying to me the whole time!! If this company lies to there customers like they lie to employees, I would certainly avoid them at ALL cost. Worst company to ever be employed by!!
I could not beleive the service that I received on Thur 8/25. I had an appointment at 6:30pm and drove 30 miles to the store in Kansas City, Kansas. The manager was going through his sales process and then picked up the phone to answer a call in which he stayed on with this potential customer for 15 minutes while I waited for him to finish his conversation, as soon as he finished another customer walked in to pick up his car which he dropped off earlier and the manager proceeded to go to the bays in the back without saying one word to me. How disrespectful! When he returned he asked me which oil change I wanted they ranged from $34.00 up. I told him I wanted the $34.00 one and I had printed off the coupon from their web site and he conveniently remembered that he did not have a oil filter for my 2002 SUV. He said he would go get one but there was no one there to run the store if he left and therefore I need to come back another time. I made an appointment and was there on time and they knew the type of vehicle I had. I will never ever get an oil change or buy anything else from NTB and will make sure all my friends and family members know about my experience.

I live an hour away from Tire Kingdom Tamiami Trail East Naples, FL (and any civilization) and being very pregnant I wanted everything fixed (on my Honda Civic) in one trip, so needing an oil change, I asked the people at Tire Kingdom to look at my tires too. It took 4 hours and cost me $800 for 4 new tires, oil change, and everything else they apparently found wrong with my car. That would have been acceptable, except as soon as I was driving home I notice the steering wheel started having a vibration and the car almost drove me into a canal because the alignment was so off! It probably looked like Steve Wonder was driving. I was already half way home and very tired so I had to drive back the next day (2 hour turn around from my house). I made an appointment but when I showed up they told me it would be at least 45 minutes before they could get my car in! what is the point of accepting appointments? !! If they are incapable of fixing the alignment on this trip I'm going to be filing a complaint with corporate- as much as they charge and complete incompetence with something they're supposed to specialize in Is rediculous!
I had a tire that was leaking air and after a couple of weeks it would go down, lost of air. I took the tire to the Tire Kingdom store in Rock Hill S.C.to have them fix the slow leak. They told me could I leave it for a couple of hours, they were real busy,I said sure and left the tire with them. After two and a half hours I went back to the store to pick up the tire. it was not ready, but there were two workers inside talking to one of the counter clerks, the worker said without waiting he would get right on it. He came back a approx. ten minutes and said he could not find the leak. The counter clerk was there and I told him and the worker it would hold air for only approx. two weeks. The counter clerk then told me that was probably the problem, me letting the vehicle set for two week without driving. How stupid that was and I told him so and left with my tire. The counter clerk does not know what he is doing and does not belong in customer service to tell something that he makes up because he knows no better. By the way I took it to their competitor just across the road and they fixed the tire.
For anyone in florida who has been mistreated by these people, Fight back where it counts. You have the power to affect these people greatly! Every mechanics shop in the state HAS to be licensed BY the state. Ask for their "MV" number and tell them you are going to file a complaint with the State Dept of agriculture and comsumer services,Motor vehicle repair shop division. You can call 1-800-helpfla and get more results than ANYTHING else you can do, except hire a lawyer. The State of florida will yank these bastards license to do business so fast it will make their heads spinnnnnn! If everyone on this board complained to the state it WOULD get something done.
All you folks have to do is call 800 helpfla. That is the dept of agriculture and consumer services. That is who license these poor excuse for mechanics. Simply get their MV number and call that number. These are THE people to go to for complaints about mechanics shops in florida.THEY CAN do something .Also complaints to the central florida BBB may not do anything directly but folks check them for reputable businesses all the time.
This Company also known as Merchants tire and auto Center must relish in having a reputation for less then honesty in their advertisements. This week they are advertising buy 3 tires and get one free. The add is fraudulent. I was about to purchase 3 Michelin tires to get one free. Each tire was priced at 218.97. Three tires at this price would equal $656.21. The bill / estimate came to $997.59. In order to get the so called one free tire I was told I had to sign up for King Royal Tire Service at $135.96 plus 1 YR wheel alignment program at $114.99. In other words I had to spend $250.00 extra dollars to get a free $218.97 dollar tire. This was a forced option and in order to get a free tire I had to sign up for the options. The commercial adds on the radio say nothing about these B.S. options. If I were aloud to purchase all 4 tires without options the total would have been $746.05. I fully intend to file complaints on every merchant tire center location and every place they advertise. Currently considering a law suit for consumer fraud.
Tire kingdom is a rip off. They have there employees trained to say things like " that is out of our control, and we can't do anything about it". I just spent 500.00 one year ago on tires and the thread on my tires look like I have had them for five years. Something will be done about this and I will never ever get another set of tires from this place of business again. They have lost a customer for life and my family.
I work for a small company, i shopped tires for our two dually work trucks and tire kingdom gave us the best price. we brought both trucks to have them installed. tires were done in so so amount of time. Lost half of the savings when had to buy new beauty ring for truck(they said they wanted to point it out to us that they didn't break, damn funny that that truck had first gone to Kentucky then to Port Huron, MI and back to SC the night before, and came off right after leaving there and did a suicide dive under a tractor trailer. Today I took my girlfriends car in to have a tire patched. well after two and a half hours later and watching 4 cars get serviced before me that came in after we did so finally we just left and i bought a plug kit and fixed in ten minutes, which is what i should have done to begin with. I understand that a patch job is less money than a tire job or belt job, put it's the principle that i was therwe first and pushed aside, and don't try feeding me the bullshit that they had appointments cause i heard the conversations at the desk. Not that it matters but, I was planning on buying a set of rims and tires for my truck from them and she was going to bring her car back Tuesday to get two new tires, we just needed a quick fix due to plans for that day. not only did plans get screwed but they just lost about $2500.00 worth of business not to mention an ongoing account they would have had with my company.
My letter to Tire Kingdom Hello, I have been a loyal customer of Tire Kingdom for 10 years now and have never had a problem with Tire Kingdom tires. I have always bought the Road hazard Warranty with each Purchase. On 11/23/2010 I bought 2 Doral SDL 205/70r15 tires with Warranty invoice# 44507687 Then on 2/26/2011 I bought 1 more Doral SDL 205/70r15 with Warranty. Then also had my tires Rebalanced and Rotated. At this time my tires were in Great Condition no problems to report even though I put 10000 miles on the first set of tires I bought on 11/23/2011. invoice#46881594 On 6/28/2011 I went to Tire Kingdom #27 8650 Seminole Blvd Seminole FL 33772 store to have my tires looked at because they were making noise. After a while the Manager (William J Thomas) asked me to come in to the shop to look at what they found. What they found is that ALL MY NEW TIRES HAD FLAT SPOTS ON THEM, EVEN THE NEW ONE I JUST BOUGHT. MY BRAND NEW TIRE HAD 14000 MILES ON THEM. He proceeded to tell me it was because my Car was not aligned and I also need new Shocks and Struts (My car only has 80000 miles on it). I asked him if the tires were covered under my Warranty? He said NO. I asked him if it was because they were not balanced the right way back on 2/26/2011. He said this was not possible and the only thing that could prevent this from happening again is an alignment and Changing my Shocks and Struts. I FOUND THIS TO BE A COVER-UP!! BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL I GOT MY TIRES REBALANCED BACK ON 2/26/2011. Now I have Brand new tires that are worthless, loud and not safe. I would like to get to get this fixed but William J Thomas will not budge unless I: Buy new tires again Get an Alignment Replace my Shocks and Struts. I find this to be appalling and disrespectful to a long time customer. I also would like to say that if this is not fixed I will have no choice but to take my business to someone else who will take responsibility for there screw up.
Too bad there isn't a no star rating available, as NTB certainly deserves that rating as an employer as well as for customer service. If you need tires, shop around, as their specials aren't that special. Concerning how well the technicians will care for your car? They are given no incentive whatsoever to care. As a former master technician employed with them, they pass the great deals of their free checks and inspections right on to the technicians, and pay them NOTHING for these free services, so why SHOULD they care? How diligent will you all be at your jobs if you're not getting paid, but are worried about how you are going to pay you're mortgage or electric bill? Technicians are not taken care of at all there, and that tends to lead to a mutual feeling from the techs towards the company and their customers, that's just a fact of life.
