I am an expectant mother so unfortunately going to the grocery store usually involves at least one pit stop to the bathroom while there. At the Stop and Shop location in East Setauket Ny (158 25a east setauaket ny 11733)the bathroom not only is inconvenient because you have to go into the back where the workers are, but the condition of the bathroom is in DEPLORABLE condition! And this is the restroom the workers use too that handle my food?! Mold and feces all over the toilet. Graffiti on walls and door. Door locks poorly and I was concerned about being walked in on. Unclean floors, sinks etc..fowl oder and some rusted looking radiator half on the wall half hanging on the floor with duct tape around it. Disgusting!!! Its bad enough customer service at the store SUCKS, (God forbid I need help finding anything. There is no one around and when I walk all the way to customer service they act like I am bothering them and don't know the answer to my question and have to ask 3 different people and 15 minutes later my question is still not addressed) lines are long and half the time food is expired or moldy but that bathroom is the last straw. The health department needs to get involved. PLEASE PLEASE do something. The bathroom needs more then a quick clean up. It needs to be gutted and remodeled. Preferrably out in the store where it is easy to access for customers. Also I don't recall for sure, but I do not think there is a baby changing station in the restroom. I would think that the majority of your clientel that does grocery shopping is women with children. I used to live in Florida and the grocery chain there was called Publix. Stop and Shop can take a HUGE lesson from them. Not only do they have supeior customer service, excellent selection of fresh food but they bag your groceries and walk you to your car and load your car too. I worked there for 13 yrs I recently left there for a number of reasons and I will never look nothing will probably be done about this but I'm writing anyways i went in the store this evening to get something for dinner and the express line was rediculous so the head cashier opened another line like she was supposed too and I happened to be the first one now. Mind u another employee was behind me not in uniform and the store manager Howard revigno walks by and starts yelling at the head cashier saying y did u do that these 2 have better been first in line now excuse me I don't work there anymore I demand respect just like any other customer so because I use to work there I m not supposed to get treated like everyone else he's one of the reasons I left because he does not know how to treat people nor talk to them this happened in the Norwich stop and shop store 615 I could not believe he would say that I felt discriminated because I used to work there something needs to be done
Hello, i would like to tell you Mr. Greg Stone about one of his managers at stop and shop in Mount Vernon NY. she is the worse manager ever. Her name is Nicole Gokey. she is very nasty and doesn't know how to talk to people. She is cutting hours of people that never call out, are at work everyday, and do their job, I'm one of them. I have to take 3 buses to get to work everyday, also i'm there before people who live right there in Mount Vernon. People who call out on a regular basis have 30 hours sometimes more. One time she gave me 6 hours. also 11 hours, I don't know anyone who can live off of that. I am a single parent trying to pay my bills and take care of my family thats all. She have people who work overnight, working right into the daytime with us. Why is she complaining about the budget? She know why the budget is over. Trust me it's not because of my paycheck. If you live in Mount Vernon why are you coming at 10:30 or 11:00, when I who have to take 3 buses have to be there at 9:00. If you come in after 9 like maybe 9:15 after you call and say i missed a bus i'm on my way she still has a problem with that. She has people who are her pets, they don't have to leave, they order food and eat and sit down after work begins in the morning and she says nothing because she's actually eating with them. While myself and other people work allday nonstop sometimes without a break. When I address her actions she cuts my days. when I say address I just ask her why do I have to leave when other people are still her? I think she's trying to fire me. please look into this matter thank you.
Stop and Shop in Stamford Ct. on Bedford St. is disgusting... garbage shoot in right next to the produce dept. in the back room...when ever the garbage piles up in the back it spills over the fruit and vegetables that hasn't even been put out yet ..mind you were talking about seafood dept. deli and regular garbage ...yuck...nobody cares about nobody in that store ..people steal everyday and eat for free and the buffet not to mention that they customers touch the buffet with their dirty hands which is against the law...thats just tip of the ice berg..i can write a book about what goes on in that store.. store sales are high but if you only knew what really goes on in there...
Stop n shop store number 500 located off main street in New Rochelle, ny has hired them a couple of thief. If you are purchasing gift cards keep your eyes on the card. Imani and kenna is running scam inside of stop and Shop as employee. Really they have a job and still stealing. Shame on you Mom for cutting those thief finger nails. I can even stop and shop at woodbridge connecticut to buy a pack of cigarettes I bought the cigarettes for someone I do not smoke got the wrong cigarettes I think the lawthat you cannot get your money back are you can not exchange again I did not know the law because I don't smoke I told the supervisor in the front that she should put up a sign to let people know about the cigarettes she agreed that was 4 months ago please can you put up a sign in the front courtesy desk to let people know a lot of people don't know they are people who don't smoke I just don't know . so I'm asking you please put the sign in front of the courtesy desk thank you
Myself and other shoppers were shopping at your Shop & Stop store in Maspeth yesterday . We noticed what appeared to be many employees handeling food,Produce and products and customers money. These employees seemed to have Pink Eye which is highely contagious . What is Shop & Stop think they are doing . The store is located at 7517 Grand avenue in Maspeth Queens. I will be calling the Department of Health first thing in the morning to report this matter.The Management at this store should be repremended for their lack of concern for the employees AND the Customers.I never seen such inconciderate actions at other stores I shopped at. I moved to Islandia,NY in 09/2009. I use to shop at the stop and shop in Islandia. I will not patronize that disgrace of a store any longer. It is suppose to be a show store. DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!! First, the way they treat their employees is horrible. The employees that work at night are rude and nasty. They wouldn't know the meaning of customer service if it walked up them and introduced itself. After shopping in that store a couple of months ago, a friend of mine was having a PRIVATE conversation with her mother at the check out counter when a male assistant manager came over to them and interjected himself into her conversation by yelling back across the store to several other employees a derogatory statement saying "That is her she's the one". The other employees then came over and started making comments. One employee went as far as threatening to assault my friend. She left the store in complete tears and shattered from the treatment. Secondly, on 05/30/2012. I was in that store shopping of dinner when I slipped and fell because of a puddle of soda that was left on the floor with no signs in the area to say there was a dangerous area. There wasn't an employee in the immediate vicinty towarn customers of the danger. I am not upset about the actual fall, I am more offended by the customer service treatment I received afterwards. The employees sauntered over like they had all day. Here I am sitting in a puddle of soda and one of the employees made a disparging remark about how i probably want a lot of money for what happened. which couldn't have been farther from the truth. The employee who took my information. Told me if I hadn't heard from their risk management department in 48 hours to come back and the employees at the store would help me. WELL!! I COULDN'T HAVE BEEN FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH. I go back to the store on saturday and I ask for the number like I was instructed. And the actual Store Manager, who liked she was just doing some last mimute straightening, couldn't take five minutes to come to the front of the store to tell me herself. In my opinion, COLDLY passed on a message via the cashier on duty that everything was out of their hands now. And I would just have to wait to hear from. Personally I am done with Stop and Shop. As a former manager I know that corporate puts alot on your plate, but it would have meant a great deal if she had taken five minutes out of her day and come to the front of the store to speak to me personally. That right there tells me the corporate giant Stop and Shop is all about the money and not the customers. Star wise they really a deserve half a star.
My family and I were on our way to the drive in movie and decided to stop at stop and shop and get snacks. We went to the one on broad street in manchester,ct. My husband decided to purchase a box of 18 full size candy bars. Unfortunately we didnt check the expiration date on the box because the candy had expired august 2011 almost a year before. When my husband went to return them the service desk person made the comment how they dont sell these that much. It doesnt matter-those candy bars should never have had been on the shelf. ALWAYS CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE ON ALL PRODUCTS AT STOP AND SHOP BECAUSE THEY SURE DONT.
This complaint is not against the store nor it's employees. This complaint is against the new store policy of pricing on food (meat) products. I was at my store in Winchester, Mass. this morning to buy Steak tips that were on sale for $4.99 a pound. When I picked up three packages to buy there was what looked like a coupon stating in bold print that there was $5 off on the outside of the packaging. Because I didn't read and analyze this piece of information I assumed it was like other times when the packaging was presented like this that it meant there would be $5.00 taken off the selling price. Now, in the past, anyone with an ounce of brains looked at the regular price and the new discounted price and saw the difference in savings. One of my packages, I saved $9.87. This is the way it has always been and everyone I knew was intellegent enough to see the difference and the savings. Whoever the nitwit was that came up with this new idea certainly didn't do any customer any favor with the misleading $5 off on each package. Everyone knows how much they were going to save without a blatant notice of $5 stating that we would be saving at least that much. How stupid I was to thnk that I had to be reminded that this was going to be the case. My mistake was that I didn't read the finer print and bought 3 packages instead of 2 thinking I would be gettng an extra $5 off. Thanks for the ripoff and the catchy way I was taken in by an clever way of duping customers!!! Kudos to insensitive selling practices.
I am so disappointed in the Stop and Shop in S. Yarmouth, Mass. We visit every summer on the cape and have used probably all of the stop and shop stores some have things we need and some dont. The issues in the customer Service gien by the "managers" is as though they dont even see you. We receive excellent service and help with from the associates on the floor. You would think the managers of any establishment would have customer service sklills and do there best to provide and support a positive good flow throughout there store. Are question is what is the role of a Stop and Shop Manager?? Is it to just walk around and or stock shelves and act as though there better than everyone because they have the title of Manager. Well we are disturbed by the way we noticed a managers lack of customer service as well as the way they interact with there employees. they be little them by yelling and from what we saw demanding them and ridiculing them for making a mistake. even one time saw a polite greeting from a passing employee and the Manager did not return the gesture. what kind of business runs on that type of communication. The shelves are un- orginized and need to be done properly. Hope we find a better attitude from the managers in this store. As for the associates in the deli, meat awesome attitudes great help keep up the good work.
I walk in today May 23rd 2012 to cash in my WIC check and I came across a cashier name Maria in the LIC in Queens New York. Maria was very nasty and very unprofessional. Maria gave Stop and Shop which is a classy supermarket into a negative one. Maria's attitude was very nasty When Maria told me I took the wrong cheese I told her the employee who works for dairy told me to pick the one I had she replied " he doesn't know nothing" that's not nice bad mouthing her own co worker like that. When she say my juice she said not that one either I was very discouraged and told her forget it I have to leave this nasty cashier pulls the WIC check up in the mid air and said I can't give it back. With her expression that she loved to humiliate me. So many people need jobs Maria doesn't deserve to be there. The manager on duty I didn't get her name she was Afro American she didn't even say anything to Maria and she didn't even apologize. That is so unprofessional!!!!!!
It seems every time I get used to where certain item are(they change the store) but my complaint is no circulars.The used to be in the Hartford Courant,that for some reason ended a while ago. Now we get them with other flyers ,thats if your not at the end of the line,because we might not get one. Now for some reason we get the flyers without Super Stop and Shops add.Today I didn't get anything.But I did get Adams in the paper.Tslking to my friend and she said Looks like we go to Adams supermarket this week again because you get the Hartford Courant and you got Adams flyer. Super Stop and Shop wants business,this sure isn't the way to do it!!

I tried to return a box of L'Oreal Hair color (costs about $8.00) to the Milford, MA store and was told that they wouldn't exchange any health and beauty care items without a receipt, so I took it to the Franklin, MA store instead and they exchanged it. Isn't there a uniform policy for issues like this? The hair color cost less than ten dollars. CVS, RiteAid, Walgreens, Shaws, Walmart--all allow returns without receipts for small items under $10.00.
I don't usually complain, but need to vent my frustration over the course of the last 6mos or so. The store #0435 in Belchertown, Ma has been declining. On April 22 I was shopping & went to the deli for some items. John who I dread getting anytime was behind the counter, I gave him the first order & he turned to me & said "WHAT" I told him again & he just turned to get it! No I'm sorry can you repeat that nothing! After getting my first order he went to walk away never asked me if he can get me something else! I was getting so pissed.... I had to just yell to him what I wanted next. I ordered 4 items & had to do this with each one! At the end he never said thank you or have a good day nothing!! This happens every time with him! Unless I rally need something I will usually avoid the deli if he is there!! I can't stand it when they have people who work in customer service that have to people skills!! If his attitude is the same the next time I get him it will be the last time I shop there! I will return to Big Y in Hadley!! You implemented so many rules but seem to forget the follow up with these employees!! Time for some good customer service skills to be implemented!!!!
I am writing in regard to the Stop and Shop in oyster Bay. one of the managers named {John} is a jerk. Hes rude to the employees and holds grudges against them for no reason or petty reasoning. I used to shop in that store because they had friendly cashiers. One whom is no longer there named Melissa. She was terminated over some nonsense acountable of JOHN. She was the greatest and very helpful when I needed to know what Isle a product was in and with my disabled child when someone tried to cut in front of her while waiting for me to return with something I forgot. She told the woman it was not her turn and said this young lady is next. All I know is I want her back. I hope to god someone takes action and reviews JOHN. I have seen some complaints already about him on the record.Do complaints really matter and do you even read these comments.
We like to do our grocery shopping early Friday mornings to avoid the mothers with screaming children, etc.. I stopped in at Store #2802 Clifton, NJ a few times during the week, most recently, Thursday, April 12, to get a copy of the most curent flyer. The young man at the courtesy desk said they were coming in "tonight". Well, that doesn't help me if I'm coming in early Friday morning, which is what I told him. He couldn't have cared less. . . .and needed a haircut to keep the hair out of his face, just walked away. So we went to Stop and Shop Friday April 13 at 8:30 AM. We usually get an Entenmann's coffee cake and picked one up. It was $6.49. The flier arrived on Friday with the mail and we noticed there was a BOGO sale on Entenmann's. I went back to the store today, Saturday, April 14, to do some shopping for an elderly shut in. There was a big Entenmann's display at the pharmacy door, another near the produce aisle and another at it's usual place on the end of the aisle. There was NO display at the pharmacy door nor produce area on Friday morning when we shopped and there was no way for us to know it was a BOGO (buy one, get one free). The cashier, David, did not mention it when we checked out either. Also, there was NO bulk boneless, skinless chicken breasts packages out on Friday morning but on Saturday, there were plenty. YOUR FLIERS ARRIVE TOO LATE TO BE OF ANY BENEFIT TO SHOPPERS ON FRIDAY MORNING. YOUR SET UPS ARE NOT UP IN TIME TO BENEFIT SHOPPERS ON FRIDAY MORNING. YOUR EMPLOYEES ARE NOT INTERESTED WITH SHOPPERS CONCERNS. Guess we go back to Acme.
The Stop&Shop in Pembroke,Ma just did a rearranging of the store, making the isles wider, stating it,s for the customers, but really, what they have done, is reduce inventory by about 40 percent and made the isles wider to take up the slack. I can not even get my favorite flavor of Coffeemate creamer, Amaretto, anymore. Guess it is time to drop shopping here, they do not care about what customers want!
