I would never order furniture from Pottery Barn again - the customer service was horrible - they delivered part of my order to the wrong address and left it on the doorstep in the rain and now are extremely difficult to work with in getting the remainder of my furntiure delivered.
The sales people at pottery barn are the worst I have ever done bussiness with. They are cold, discurious, and lack customer service skills. I personaly think a CEO for pottery Barn should take the time to anonymous go to make a purchase and see for them selves. My experience was feeling that I will never shop there again.
I ordered items that were listed with a future ship date. After a month I was told the items were out of stock. I used my rewards card and had to send 3 emails telling PB that they should return the $25.00 reward since I hadn't actually usedc it. Today, I checked the site and noticed customer reviews or comments are no longer posted. What gives?
I ordered a chair and ottoman in Oct. and paid in full. The chair was delivered but no slipcover. After two reorders the slipcover never came 3 months later. This was a quick ship item not a custom order. I finally decided to return the chair as I never received the slipcover. No one ever called to pick up the chair. The manager of the store where I purchased the chair was so helpful but now I'm trying to get a full refund. They charged my account for another ottoman I never purchased and the amount they say they owe me is incorrect. How can a company that prides themselves on their customer service treat their customers this way. I can't imagine they would stay in business long with the prices they charge and their poor customer service. So frustrated!!!!
I had issues with Pottery Barn a few years ago and swore I would never do business with them again. Over 2 weeks ago I placed an order for tote. The order was processed and my credit card was charged. When the item failed to arrive I called customer service, who assured me the item would arrive by Christmas. Today 12/21/2010, I received a call the my credit card was credited and the item was not going to be shipped. What is wrong with this company. If they do not have the item in stock, why take the order at all. Even after the guarantee the item for Christmas. What a joke!! Never again.
I recently tried to purchase a metal folk art rooster weather vane. I received my catalog and called the next day to order the item. (the was the catalog before the most recent one) Anyway, I was told I couldn't purchase it because they didn't have it anymore. C'mon, the day after I receive my catalog? I had just had surgery and that was supposed to be my present from my husband. I have invasive skin cancer. I was so disappointed. If you are going to offer something like that and maybe the east coast gets their catalog first but so what! So the west coast has to just substitute it for something else. I bought an expensive hurricane lamp but I really wanted that weathervane. Very very disappointed in Pottery Barn this time.
Okay everybody, Pottery Barn ROCKS!! In my last review, I said that I was disappointed with our purchase of a seagrass sectional sofa @ $2,500 because the seagrass had a powerful smell. Well, I'm happy to report that the seagrass odor disappeared completely in about three weeks. I also wrote a strong letter to the President of Pottery Barn that voiced my displeasure with our purchase. Lo and behold! I received a phone call from a Pottery Barn representative (Margo in Las Vegas) that took all the steam out of my over-heated rant. First of all, she said that the Pottery Barn would be sending us a $250.00 gift card--that alone would make anyone feel better. Then, she apologized for the fact that we were NOT WARNED that seagrass has an odor (which would eventually disappear). Bottom line: I love the sofa and have already spent the gift card on a $225 waffle iron from Williams Sonoma. I'm a happy customer.
The worst service imaginable. I ordered a lamp. There is no tracking information. I lodged a complaint after someone called - was rude to me - and told me it would be another ten days before delivery. After the complaint, someone called me to identify two different dates for delivery. It takes 18 hours to drive from the point of origin to the point of delivery - yet they need two to three weeks. There is nothing offered for sale by this company that cannot be found somewhere else where a) they know how to address you properly and b) they know how to conduct business in a competent and credible way. I would NEVER buy anything from them again.
I have recently bought 8 wine glasses from Pottery Barn, which were on sale because of a defect in the glass which showed some "air bubbles". I liked the size and shape of the glass and bought them anyway since they were on sale for 5.99. When I got them home and HAND washed them -- one of the glasses "shattered" as it was sitting on the counter to air dry. I called the store, who said they would put TWO glasses aside for me if I returned the the shattered glass. I drove 40 minutes back to the store the next day and they said they would replace the one glass, but could not give me another one. It makes me think they do not stand behind their product or care about the consumer who shops in their store. In the last 2 months I have spent about one thousand dollars in their store, buying bedding for my home- however this one small thing will make me Never go back again.
I have just purchased Pottery Barn's five-piece, five-cushion, 10-pillow seagrass sectional sofa for $2,500. And, there is a major problem: it has an awful smell. Horrendous. Over-powering. Pottery Barn did NOT alert us to this fact: not on their website, in their catalog or in any of their retail stores. It is a HUGE secret. I wrote to Ms. Sandra Stangl, President, Pottery Barn, 3250 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94109 saying that I was VERY unhappy with this pricey purchase. Ms. Stangl did NOT bother to reply. I find this amazing. I have tried every air freshener, etc. on the market. Nothing works. I am now stuck with a big sectional sofa in our home office that stinks to high heaven. And, based on the research that I have done recently on the Internet, it may take weeks, months or years for the smell to subside. Hiding the "seagrass" stink factor + a very high shipping cost + a non-response to my problem--leaves me with one choice. I will NEVER shop at Pottery Barn again. Wall Street said it was "too big to fail" and obviously the Pottery Barn feels the same way. Stay tuned.
Ordered a Sleep Study bed for my 10 year old son, painted and redecoraded his room around this. We picked up his new full size mattress for the bed as the delivery was scheduled for March 4th between 9am and 1pm. Around 2pm my husband who stayed home from work for this called Pottery Barn and they said due to a "scratch" it could not be delivered. A new piece would have to be ordered and they would call to reschedule a delivery day. Here begins the three week rollercoaster of calling and delivery dates. The part was never ordered, they told me would be a two day express delivery and they currently had 22 pieces of this part in the warehouse not a problem. I am in my kitchen at the third week waiting once again on hold with Pottery Barn waiting for delivery from 9 am to 1 pm. its 12:15 and they can't figure out if its going to happen or not. Going on 10 mins on hold. Thank heavens for speaker phone so I can multi task. Nighmare, I am wondering if I can put in a timecard for all the holds, phone calls and calling the warehouse and delivery company myself to get answers. Keep in mind my story when they say not to worry tomorrow, I heard this at least 21 times so far.............UHG Nighmare of a company!
