PB Tries to pull a fast one
I ordered a "new" Heavenly Bed and box spring. Upon delivery it was in a sealed plastic bag. The delivery men set up the bed and left. Upon closer inspection the box spring had grease on one side, and the bed had a raised center that was noticible when you reclined on the bed. At that point, I also noticed there were no hang tag information on the bed, and several plastic tags attached to the bed but no information. I am in the process of returning the bed & box spring and wa informed that this was a repackaged item, which according to a manager, "Boston warehouse is known for doing that." This company needs to clean up their act and there merchandise.

Virtually impossible to reach an individual that has any knowledge or authority with respect to order placed but not received. Their quality process are either broken or nonexistent. Perhaps they do not have an individual responsible for quality customer relations. Customer satisfaction starts at the top of the company and trickles down through the organization. Total Failure. CEO needs to be repaced, then Quality Executive.
My dining room table finish has begun to peal and looks terrible after eight months. Ok, I accept things happen and try to get the table fixed by PB. After many, many hours on hold and then talking to the PB call center along with many transfers, and even more promises.....i give up. No more PB for me....
do not order ANYTHING from pottery barn!!!!! i placed an order for an entire room full of furniture one month ago and it has turned into the WORST NIGHTMARE OF MY LIFE!!! first they placed the incorrect items in order...then sent 4 of one item and not the correct items...sending them back was a nightmare....next item delivered was totally wromg color and did not match.......i have been on HOLD for hours with PB customer service, only ti be transferred REPEATEDLY to "furniture" dept. to be on hold for hours more, and talked 12 times to delivery service which only lead to even MORE confusion! they say the remaining items will not come until after thanksgving but their tracking service says it has already been shipped!!!! and no one can help me get any of this straight!!! i have just tried to contact the PRESIDENT of PB only ti reach ANOTHER recording saying that the PRESIDENT only works 4 days a week!!!! NO WONDER THIS COMPANY IS A LOSER...DOES ANYONE AT THIS RIDICULOUS COMPANY EVER READ THESE COMMENTS???
Absolutely horrible company...do not ever order from Pottery Barn!!!! Ordered a sofa two months ago...after they placed the order wrong and then told they couldn't refund our debit account, we were told that it would be finished and ready to ship 3 weeks ago. After calling numerous times, they finally called yesterday to say that it will not be ready for another two months because the manufacturer ran out of our fabric!!! So they have been sitting with our thousands of dollars for months...and I still do not have a sofa!! I will never order from them again and will try to get the word out to others...never order from Pottery Barn!!!! Terrible experience!!! Customer service people are rude and make no effort. They do not care at all about customer service or their product. They just sit and hold on to your money...
I recently tried to order two chairs from pottery barn at 299.00 each with a 10.00 surcharge listed. I may not be the smartest person out there but 299. and 10. = 309, which I was fine with. After I gave my payment info, the sales person said so your total will be 698.00. I stopped her immediately to find out why an extra 40.00 was tacked onto each chair. I was told it was an additional surcharge. Again not the smartest person but I do not understand two surcharges and it was not explained to my satisfaction. I believe it is dishonest and deceitful. I have spent thousands at your store but will no longer shop with you because of this practice.
I am beyond frustrated with pb!!! I ordered the benchright fixed dining table in the waxed pine finish the bench and the Aron chairs in waxed pine as featured online and in catalogue. The table and bench arrived looks nice the side armed chairs arrive, they are also nice; so far I'm happy. Now they send two Aron side chairs to complete set; they arrive but in a maple color. I think ok they made a mistake. I call send them back. They send another two side chairs, again they are maple colored not waxed pine color to match the ones I have, and to coordinate with the table and bench. I call and explain that the chairs don't match. The customer service lady explains that she's going to do an "a-batch" before sending another set. She calls back and says the company is having a problem matching the Aron armed chairs with the side chairs. I say ok just forget the chairs, send us another bench. Well, a bench is sent but in a white was finish not waxed pine. I call and explain and they do another a-batch to ensure that the bench is right. I just received the "new" bench and it is damaged! What the F~**!! This is the forth shipment that I've sent back trying to be patient and polite!!! I want to complete my set!!!! We paid 3400 for this furniture. I am not happy! Still waiting to get it right!!!! To be continued....Not happy! Get it together pb!
Thanks for the inisght. It brings light into the dark!
I just purchased a new home furnished. I was told a sleeper couch in the den was from pottery barn. I ordered a new slipcover. It did not fit. I wanted to order a new couch to fit the slipcover and pay the difference but I was told from several customer service they could not sell it this way. This boggles me. I Payed 800.00 for the slIpcover the couch with slipcover is 1299.00 which means the couch is less than the slipcover. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed. It nof like I'm nit trying to spend more money
Here is something new to try...there are great new deisgns in indoor/outdoor rugs. Try www.ballarddeisgns.com....you can get a 5x7 for as little as $89.00. I have had a leopard print one under my dining table for about five years and it looks as good as the day I bought it. You can vacuum it like any other rug. Spills wipe up with a damp cloth. They are usually made out of a polypropelene and do not absorb spills. The price is right, the patterns are great, they are easy to maintain AND you can use it on your patio when you want to change it. You can also find them at overstock.com sometimes or in the Grandin Road catalog and many other places...just google indoor/outdoor rugs... You might be surprised at the great selection of patterns you will find!...and the great prices!!!
Wanted to buy an initialed stroller blanket as a gift. The only way initials are done per the representative is upper case first initial and the other two lower case!!!! That is ridiculous! Have you ever seen initials done that way? REALLY! After reading the other comments here, I guess the company really is going down hill. Initials at one time were all caps, but the last initial was larger and in the middle. Going off to find another gift from someplace that knows how to correctly do initialling!
I have just had the worst experience with this company. I ordered 2 chairs monogrammed for my twins, one comes fine...the other is missing the cover so it is essentially a box full of foam. No one answers their customer service line so I end up emailing them, 24 hours later they tell me it was delivered. Still, no one answers their customer service phone number... You'd think it was Xmas, after another email and waiting another 24 hours they tell mthey don't have it anymore, so why did they tell me it was delivered? Fine... Send me a different color with the same monogram. I had to reiterate this 3 times because half of my emails are responded with a reply that makes no sense and has no relevance to what I wrote. It's as if they don't speak English, I assume they're in India and are using some translation software that obviously doesn't work correctly. I just received the cover and of course there's no monogram. Reading all of these reviews, there's obviously something wrong with this company. I don't trust them and will just throw out the chairs. Im fine paying more to get good quality merchandise and service but this was awful. I will never buy anything again from any of their brands.
I previously LOVED Pottery Barn...no longer. The last time I went in and asked...do to you have anything in here NOT made in China, the person said,"I think we have a piece of pottery made in Portugal." I understand international trade, I understand the cost of labor...but you have gone toooooo far. I am paying the same or higher prices for products that used to be quality-this is no longer true, but the prices are just as high. I love your designs, catalogs etc., but I won't buy anything more from you until I see Made in the USA!
Following is copy of letter sent to Customer Service,Pottery Barn: Dear Pottery Barn, I am writing today, after sheer frustration. Your financial institution for Pottery Barn Credit Cards is the absolute worst company, I have ever dealt with. Please note, I actually closed my Pottery Barn account months ago on the sole basis of my frustration with World Financial. All of my interactions with them from start to finish, have left me feeling frustrated, angry & wondering about the marriage of your company to theirs. More importantly, it has made me want to stop future business with Pottery Barn. I cannot stress this enough! To this end, I would like Pottery Barn to know that I happen to be a very good customer of the American Express Company (& PB) for a number of years. I would strongly suggest your management, marketing & customer service departments to review current practices and customer complaints with Pottery Barn World Financial and, to take a closer look at how successful customer service and financial services can be better achieved. Pottery Barn Company should take American Express' cue! At no time, does frustration escalate with AMEX customers. To dump World Financial or have them dramatically amend their practices, would certainly benefit Pottery Barn--but most importantly, Pottery Barn customers could actually feel good giving their business to an appreciative company and synched financial concern. I sincerely hope someone from your company reaches out to me, that is beyond lip service; I know American Express certainly would. Sincerely yours, Wendy T PS. Can you kindly forward my letter on to all departments that would benefit from my concerns. I appreciate it, thank you.
I have never been so disappointed with a transaction in my life as with the recent one with Pottery Barn. I don't know how you manage to stay in business. I would never recommend Pottery Barn to anyone. in fact I would discourage anyone from ever getting involved with Pottery Barn. After waiting 12 weeks for a delivery, numerous phone calls, and an inconvenient delivery date, the order arrived incomplete! No amount of corporate phone calls or visits to the store have been able to remediate a simple problem.
HI, I order from PB , however depsite they saying is going to be deliver on 5-9 days stil today after 3 weeks i am waitinf for my items. They are USING OUR MONEY ...... also they sent me a box with a invoice and inside they are not all the items shown on the invoice ......
They deserve a big fat zero but I was told by Tasha in Customer Service that if I couldn't afford to pay full price, I shouldn't be on their website lookingat their furniture either. They had a large red July Sale banner across the website with clearance furnitue. I looked, shopping for three sets of furniture, and The Beadboard bed in Honey was on sale for 109.99 all through the furniture sites. You could actually purchase the matching hutch for $89.99. Why would you advertising that this bed was available with FREE SHIPPING for $109.99 and then when I called to order 3 of them.....they are now non-existant and I, me, is at fault cause I can't afford their merchandise at full prices. It's FALSE ADVERTISING AT IT"S BEST,but I am not shy. I will file a complaint with the Attorney General, the Better Business Bureaus and the definitely the FCC. Come on Folks, follow my lead and let them take them off the internet for price gouging!*
Purchased a $69.00 Bristol Lantern from PB. Quality and workmanship was awful so I sent it back and reordered it. The second one came in the same condition. Went to Christmas Tree Shops and found the exact same item for $19.99. Contacted PB Customer service but they could care less. PB does not sell fine quality items and apparently they do not take pride in merchandise at all.
I received gift cards from my kids in Dec. 2011 to use to purchase a couch from this horrible co. When the couch arrived many things were wrong which led us to investigate further. The fabric was stated to be 100% cotton with a fabric origin of USA. It did not have the look of cotton. We read the tags attached which read INTERNATIONAL not exactly USA and written on top of white-out was 100% cotton .... we scratched off the white out and it read 62% acrylic and 38% essera. When we asked pottery Barn what essera the had no clue. It is stated in the catalog and the internet the couch measures 83.5 " In length 40" deep and 37" in height. Really ? My couch measured 81"x38"x36" HUMMM. We called Pottery Barn several times and finally a rep from the store came to take a look. They told me they measured the floor samples and they came up short also !!!! WOW they also stated the couch was crafted in the USA not my couch is from Canada, per the tags. They told me they would up grade the fabric and discount the couch 20%. Wow I finally told them to come and get the couch, I did not want if for free......... I have contacted several people from Pottery B and finally got a refund but nothing has changed. I want compensation for all my aggravation....But I'm sure that will never happen ..........stay away from this lousy co.
Sales associates in one store and on i-chat assured me that desk furniture would be delivered and assembled in my home. About 300 lbs. of delivered furniture was delivered 6 days ago with no notice and no one at home and is now sitting on our front porch. After several calls, I'm now being told by PB store and on-line associates that I was "misinformed" and that no, this furniture is not assembled. See transcript of i-chat: <<Customer: I would like to confirm that everything I order will be delivered AND assembled in my home, as one of your store associates informed me last week. Is this correct? Isaac: That would be correct. The Bedford collection is going to be delivered via our in home delivery. They will deliver and assemble for you.>> I am still seething and only hoping no one decides to cart the furniture off our porch before I pay for the assembly, the bill for which will be sent to PB HQ.
