I took my car to get it inspected, for some reason the went under the hood. never knew that to happen before, any way they informed me my valve cover gasket was leaking. So I had it fixed. They charged me $60.31 cents for the gasket. I called around and the highest price for the gasket was $35.00. I understand thewre is a mark-up but 100% is a bit much. The man at the counter said I was wrong. I went back this morning and asked them the reason it cost so much. I ended up paying $170 dollars. that is why I did some checking.. They also replaced 3 bulbs I hope the valve gasket is made if gold. When I left there I informed the man I would noy be back and all he said was okay.

I have taken my car to the Midas on Illinois St in Indianapolis a couple times for diagnostics and both times I saved THOUSANDS by going somewhere else. They are either completely inept or they are running some sort of a scheme. For example, my car was overheating and they told me my head gasket had blown which would have cost me over $3,000 to repair. I took it somewhere else and it ended up being just a bad thermostat which cost me ONLY $500. Saved thousands. The second time I thought I would atleast get an opinion and boy I am glad I was suspicious because of my previous experience. They said I needed a new mass air sensor, throttle body, and a new air filter box assembly. Total cost being $2500!!! It only needed a mass air flow sensor. Savings by going to a dealership of all places was $2000!!!! Unbelievable to say the least! NEVER EVER WILL I GO TO MIDAS!!!!!!!!

I think the manager Mike, in Hazelwood, MO is a hard working person, he has done everything he could to repair my car. I noticed on the office wall he has an inspector license and is ASE certified. I think he needs to be noticed by Midas for how hard he looked for the problem that no one else could discover. Good job, Mike...

Doesn't even rate 1 star. Went to the Midas Near Price's corner in Wilmington, DE....just for an oil change, tire rotation, brake inspection, etc...had a $19.99 coupon. Left there with a $374.00 total bill. I know the caliber was bad on the left wheel and knew I would have to replace it...so I gave my permission to do that. Brake pads repleced (thank God they were free under the life time warrenty). Then, My rotor was just (borderline) over specs and they recommended that it be replaced.. Ok, I used to turn rotors and looked at it myself and agreed. Now, they said that the brake hose needed replaced..., and the line had to be bled because it was contaminated (you always have to bleed the line after installing brakes. They didn't rotate my tires as adverstised. I asked why..The guy in the shop stuck his finger in the tread of my tire and said that they didn't need to be rotated because the tread was not worn where it should be before rotating should be done. Isn't that the reason why you rotate tires? You want to make sure there is even wear. Ok, the manager explained top me that I have a bent wheel and they shouldn't be rotated because I would feel it shimmy if they were on the front. He never told which wheel was bent. Nor did they say anything when they "inspected" after the removed the wheels. Now here's what made me blow...they charged me $95.00/hr and pre-charged me for 1 and a half hours to do the job. At total of $190.00. The parts were cheaper than the labor! I clocked them starting when the parts arrived until they handed me my keys...They worked on my car for exactually 37 minutes! When I confronted them about paying for 1 and a half hours when it took only 37 minutes, the manager said that I wasn't paying for the work on an hourly basis, but for the quality of work done. Total: $89.00,+ $50.00 + $19.99 + $26.00 + $20.00 + $190.00 = $374.00! I'm unemployed and that totally whiped me out. My car is the only thing I own and right now, my home. I had no choice but to have it fixed.

Midas Bowling Green U.S. 31W, Bowling Green, KY (270) 842-6561 () ý · midasbowlinggreen.com WORST EVER. My daughter takes her car in with an A/C issue. Midas estimate: 903.00 to fix. 1. Part ($244) + Labor (660) = $904 to fix (before taxes). Called the dealership (where part was ordered) and found out how Midas was STEALING from me as follows: 1. Part ($122) + Labor ($100) = $224 to fix (before taxes) >>> MOST IMPORTANTLY >> I have the Midas estimate & dealership final bill to PROVE it. Smart on Midas's part, they are insulated, no one to complain too. BE CAREFUL.

My car stopped on me while I was in Atlanta on old national highway, college park. so I called around to find the nearest mechanic. Midas was the closest so i decided to go with them. i called and spoke with a guy by the name of robert. he ssisaid it would be ok to have my car towed there even if they would be closed. Not knowing that it was a bad neighborhood, I left it. Instead of telling me he didn't recommend leaving it there he said I would be ok. This was on a Saturday. When I got there first thing Monday morning someone stole my center caps off my car and tried to steal my rims. I told Bob and he said im lucky they didn't break in my car. I would have never left it if I they would have told me. So the part I needed was very expensive..do they said. I paid for it $454 because I had to get back home to alabama. So when he calls me to tell me car is ready I ask him to also check my lug nuts because someone tried to still my tires. So I go pick up my car pay all my money thinking that fully completed everything I asked. So I leave and get on the interstate a 1/2 mile down a super busy Atlanta highway my tire falls off. I could have died. All of my tires were loose and would have came off if I didnt pull over. We call and customer service was horrible. Robert tells me that they didn't get around to checking them. Again I could have died. They got around to taking my money..they wouldn't pay for the tow truck so I paid $100 to get it towed back to the shop. We get there and Robert gets smart with my mother and the tow truck guy. Acting like it wasn't there fault. Horrible horrible service I will never go to a midas again. I have pictures and video so its not over...

I am rating Midas a one only because that is the lowest rating provided on the scale. I took my vehicle to Midas on Monday July 30, 2012, to have a bolt replaced that was broken by a Discount Tire employee while rotating my tires and changing a flat. Discount Tire provided me with a coupon that allowed free bolt repair/replacement. Upon arrival (0909 am) the employee at the front desk said the wait would be "about an hour." More than an hour later I had to ask how much longer the service would take and reminded him or his early claim of one hour. He then replied I said "About an hour." Nearly two hours later a repairman returned my vehicle to me and appologized for the wait. I later realized that I had not been given anything in writing referencing that Midas replaced the bolt (in case a problem were to arise later). I went back to the store and asked the person at the front desk for a receipt of some sort to prove that Midas had done the repair. He said, "I do not understand the logic behind your asking for a receipt." I then stated what you shouldn't understand is the logic behind repairing a vehicle and not offering or insisting on providing a receipt. He then said he would have to call his district manager before he could give me a receipt. During that time I called Discount Tire to get documentation from them as well. They willingly offered and sent me something in writing stating what happened and that I was referred to Midas for repairs. In fact the manager from Discount Tire told me while he was on the phone with me that he saw a call come across from the Midas store that I was at (but he was calling is district manager). What I find suspicious and dishartening is the lack of customer consideration, the ignorance toward customer satisfaction, and the dishonesty. Whether I paid a dime or not written documentation should be available to substantiate that the repair was completed by Midas. If a repair requires two hours that needs to be stated up front (I may have had another appointment pending). Furthermore, if Midas doesn't stand behind their work then they should not be in a business that allows them access to something as crutial and dangerous as performing motor vehicle repairs. I would not and will not recommend this company to anyone. In fact, I will send as many customers as posssible to their competition.

Would rate Midas lower than 1 star if I could, went in for an oil change was told I needed a tire rod. Told them ok go ahead and order the part. Mad an appt for the next day. Got there my part had not come in left my car there for 4 hrs and they had just started on it when I cam to collect my vehicle. After the work I got into my vehicle which was in perfect alignment before they worked on it and the steering wheel is very crooked inside and it rumbles and shakes very badly at 45mph it also does not turn without a lot of strain. They have totally messed up the vehicle and now refuse to fix it or align it back the way it was when I brought it in citing that their machine is not claibrated. I think they should pay for this they messed it up and they know they did: Spoke to the owner of this franchise, His name is Daniel, and he assured me that he would take care of this. This is the Midas on Memorial Blvd in Greenville, North Carolina. I have yet to hear from Daniel & this has yet to be resolved. Very disappointed & pissed, will definately be taking legal action action them:

Went to get my car check for a noise and they told me it was the control arm so I went t go buy one. When they installed it, and gave ms the at back. The noise was still there. It was answers of $110. !

Took vehicle to Midas 7-14-12 for oil change and "signature service". Car began to run very badly, burning gas, leaking oil and antifreeze. Looked under the hood after several days to check fluids and found oil cap upside down sitting inside of engine where it was to be screwed on. Found antifreeze top hanging open. There was a tremendous amount of fluids leaked and burnt on engine and other parts underneath hood. When I contacted Midas in Florissant, MO, to cancel an appointment in lieu of this fiasco, when I described to the manager, Mike, what had went on, I was told "oh, sorry, ok, thanks for calling". Not only was response "half hearted" but also, I got the impression that he could care less that this HUGE mistake had been made. Though people do make mistakes, this was beyond a small mistake and could not cost us the remaining use of our vehicle; this may or may not be able to corrected to the original condition of the car. I have patronized this Midas shop for the past three years and was pleased with their work and service. However, it appears that loyalty as well as honesty in no longer available and as I saw someone said above, I no longer want the MIDAS TOUCH either!!!

A few weeks ago, I noticed a slight exhaust leak when my car was idling. Since I'm quite the meticulous one when it comes to my '03 VW Jetta, I thought that I would just take it to a VW dealer and have it checked out and have any work needed done there. Unable to get an appointment for about a week, I decided after considerable review online, to take it to what I perceived as the experts in exhaust repair. That being Midas. WRONG!!!! ABSOLUTELY UNEQUIVOCALLY UNDOUBTEDLY WRONG to say the least!! I brought my car to the Midas location on rte. 9 in Howell, NJ. First let me state that I made an appt online since it offers this convenience. I never received a phone call within the hour. Hell, I never received a phone call the whole day and I made the appt at about 10am on a Monday for the following day. So yes, that's about 8 hours till the end of business day that I never received a response. So I arrive punctually for my appt the following day and I proceed to enter the facility and walk to the counter. The gentleman sitting at the counter, who seemed very detached, didn't even have the courtesy of looking up and acknowledging my presence. He simply asked, in a guttural tone, "What can I do for you?". I said that I had an appt for this morning for a diagnostic check of an exhaust leak. I told him that I made an appt online the previous day. He then, in a pecksniffian demeanor, said that I should have called instead since they don't really check the online appts. Hmm, interesting. Glad to see that they are keeping up with daily protocol. To condense the story a little, I had the car checked and the technician found that the flex pipe was slightly frayed and was the cause of the exhaust leak noise. So the store manager, Robert, proceeded to inform of the work that will be done after showing me what was wrong. After inspecting the problem area, I noticed what the flex pipe looked like. The manager showed me the new flex pipe that was going to be installed and it wasn't the same size of flex material as the one that was in the car already. I asked him about the difference and he stated that it is and will be ok to install the new flex pipe that he showed me. So after waiting for about 3 hours, the work was completed. Robert, the manager, took the car for a test drive. After returning, he said that everything is good to go. Me, perhaps being naive, believed him and just paid the bill which came out to about $300. I hopped in my car and left. As I proceeded down the road, I noticed a difference. There was a slight vibration in first and second gear when accelerating. Unfortunately, I didn't give it much thought at first and thought it would go away. I went home and had to go back out to a store which required the use of the car again. Once again, I felt the vibration. At this point, I turned the radio off to see if I can hear anything. As I proceeded to take off from a stop sign, I of course felt the vibration and when I revved the rpm's to about 4k and pushed the clutch in, I heard a metal on metal scraping sound. Now my car is making noises that I never had in the 5yrs that I've owned this car. So I continued on with my errand and constantly felt the vibration in acceleration and now started to hear this metal on metal scraping sound. So the next day I immediately returned to Midas. I told Robert what was going on. He said to me that he did notice a vibration in the car. But amazingly enough, he didn't tell me this the day before. Mind you, he did take the car for a test drive BEFORE the work was done and I'm sure he noticed that there was NO VIBRATION!! And about the metal scraping sound....the technician who did the work the day before again "checked" my car out again. Now he noticed that a bracket supporting the exhaust in the middle of the car was broken and was letting the exhaust move too much when accelerating. Once again, HMMMMMM!! They didn't notice this when they did their exhaust inspection the day before??? Or did this happen as a result of them moving the exhaust pipe to install the flex pipe?? So after spending $300 the day before and NOW $60 to have the pipe welded to the bracket to prevent the scraping sound, this equates to about 6 hours spent there. When I asked about the vibration, Robert the manager said that the flex pipe needs a break in period and the vibration will go away. So after read that, I'm sure that you will all agree, BULLSHIT!!! That was a fucking lie when he even thought about saying that. Well, to wrap the story up, after visiting a different Midas location a couple of hundred miles away from the Howell, NJ location(I was in Fl visiting friends), I am glad to report that my car is now vibration free!! The kind and PROFESSIONAL gentleman at the Tampa, Fl location corrected what was done wrong. They put the exact same sized and looking flex pipe in the car after cutting out the WRONG flex pipe that the NJ location put in. Even the GM in Tampa was dumbfounded as to why the wrong one was put in. And he jokingly said, "Flex pipes don't break in. They break.". The only light at the end of the tunnel, besides the car now not having the vibration, is that I didn't have to pay any further monies to have the problem rectified. I did however give the tech in Tampa $20 for lunch and thanked him tremendously for fixing this complete travesty. So while I will never go to Midas EVER AGAIN, I do know of one location that stood up and did meet customer satisfaction.

I was with one of my clients at the Midas in Lafayette Indiana when there was a man that is mentally disabled wanting help. One of the mechanics (Josh) and cashier (Steve) began laughing at the man. Once the man left Josh and Steve began laughing even harder and discussing with other customers how they would hate to be driving in front of or behind him and that they did not think an individual with a disability could drive or get a license. My client has a disability that was with me. This was beyond rude, unprofessional, and uncalled for!

Had service done at one Midas located in Mesa, AZ...Guadalupe and Alma School. Replaced my water pump and later was told that my harmonic balancer froze and needed to be replaced. I agreed to the repair cause I needed my car. As the tech's were working on my car, they almost broke my radiator because they were using a pry bar to break the balancer off my vehicle. As they were putting my water pump back in, the timing belt "slipt off". It took three guys to try and get the belt back on. They were in a hurry cause they wanted to go home so I had to get a ride and get my car back the next day. As soon as I left the parking lot of the shop, I could tell that there was something wrong with the engine, it was performing as it was before and I noticed I was going thru gas more ( I was losing about 40-50 mpg per 1/4 tank of gas). Its standard in the industry that when you change your water pump or anything with the timing belt, it should always be replaced. They didn't even offer to replace it, rather they needed to replace the balancer, which cost more money to repair. I attempted to get it resolved, taking it back to the shop, and was being told that they didn't have anyone available to look at the timing belt to come back when they had someone available. After several attempts, I finally went down to the shop and to my surprise, the store was closed down, no notice, no nothing. At this time, I had already received a code P0344, which indicates a timing issue with the belt/misfire. I took it to another midas in tempe, AZ, Autoloop drive, to get an oil change from a coupon that i received for the troubles i had from the other shop with the timing belt. I also told them to take a look at the belt and explained all that happened. To my surprise again, no one was available to look at the belt that I needed to come back again when they had someone to look at it. Well my timing belt finally broke. I took it down to the midas cause I felt that it was something that midas did at first and with the performance issues and the code being set on my car, I knew there was def something up. They took the cover off and showed me what it looked like. The manager stated that it was the pulley that was possibly bad and/or the tensioner. I looked and saw that the pulley was lose because the bolt was sticking out almost 1/4 of an inch out and wasn't tightened down all the day. The manager originally stated that the pulley doesn't have a bolt and that the bearings were possibly bad. Well i knew he was BS'ing cause I saw a bolt that was supposed to hold the pulley into place. I could move the damn pulley with my fingers cause it was so loose. I told them to test the tensioner and to call me back if there was a problem with it. I never got a call back so means that the pulley was the issue and if it was loose, it would cause the belt to move around and cause it to get stuck and/or bust. They replaced the belt and the pulley and took it for a test drive. The manager told me that I had to do a tune up before they could diagnose the engine for the rough idling. He also told me that I needed to replaced the spark plugs cause they weren't the kind that he recommended. Just more bs'ing to get more money. I then asked for a district manager info and was told that they don't have a district manager, to contact another manager at a different store and that they would handle the problem. It was that manager that told me this BS and gave me the hassle. Well according to the customer rep they do have a district manager. more BS!!! I checked the spark plugs they were fine, nothing wrong with them. I took it down to get it checked out a different mechanic and it took them 10 minutes to do a compression test and find out that I have bent valves in a couple of my cyclinders. its funny how another mechanic took 10 mins to do a test and didnt require a tune up but midas said that it was required before they could do any other type of diagnosing of the engine. I filed a complaint with midas and since has been a nightmare. 4 calls, 1 week later, and after being told time after time that i would get a call back within 24/48 hours, I never did get a call back. After each time I called, supposedly it was being expedited to someone higher each time. after the 4th call and a week later, they finally sent it to corporate. There was never anyone that was a manager available to talk too, just a supervisor. All they "could do" was just write a report and send it off and tell me that i would get a call back within 24/48 hours. I also found it hard to believe that they didn't have any type of contact info, such as a phone number to corporate or the department that handles these types of complaints, that it was all system limitations. I finally got a call back within an hour after calling them back the 4th time and a week later. To my surprise they said sorry and that this wasn't how midas handles these types of situations, that it should have been handled earlier. Was told that he would look into the next day and contact managers to get my car looked at/fixed possibly and how this company handled this complaint in the most unprofessional way ever!!! I will never go back to midas again. BEWARE!! DO NOT GO TO MIDAS, they have techs that don't do the work correctly, and when something happens, they don't honor their guaranteed work/satisfaction. they gave me the run around multiple times and filing a complaint was a joke. This is how you conduct business Midas? Its a joke and VERY unprofessional and no one knows what they hell they are doing. Midas should repair my car's engine and I should get my money back from the repairs that I have had to have from the broken timing belt. Midas took 1200.00 from me and still have more problems. DONT GO TO MIDAS! From all these complaints, it looks like everyone else is having problems and issues with the workmanship of their services and rip people off for doing services that aren't required or half assed so that you have to come back and spend more money with them for more repairs that wouldn't be done properly!!

To Whom It May Concern: July 1, 2012 On 6/17/2012 at approximately 3:00pm I brought my 2003 Honda CRV to your location on 10177 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite A Las Vegas, Nevada 89135 for a Brake System Flush at an after coupon cost of $89.14 (Invoice # 0025393) which was a great deal considering my local Honda Dealer had just quoted me a cost of $150.00 for the very same repairs. The manager was able to get my car in and out within the time quoted, and I am VERY satisfied with the work performed on my vehicle. However, during this visit the employee that performed the services to my vehicle felt justified in stealing my Garmin GPS Navigator Nuvi 50 (Approx Cost $200.00) from the glove box of my vehicle. I am very upset about this having occurred since my experience was such a pleasant one from the start. My husband said that I should “Just let it go” and that it wasn’t worth costing someone their job in today’s economy. But, on the same token I work very hard for everything I’ve ever gotten and have NEVER stolen from anyone. Perhaps this complaint will fall on deaf ears, or I will be assured that your employees are above reproach and wouldn’t do such a thing, but they did and now I’m without my property. I had every intention of returning to Midas to have some additional work done on my vehicle which I had discussed with the manager but after this experience I cannot with good conscience recommend your company to any of my friends, family, or neighbors due to this very unfortunate experience. Sincerely, Lee Fichter

I have very unsatisifed with the service that I recieved from midas in Lakewood Colorado today. They offer free diagnostics and I go there for that. Sometimes I have them perform the repair sometimes I don't, if someone else beats their price. Today I had a radiator issue and took it in for a diagnostic. The manager at the front asked if he was just going to do the diagnostic again, but not get to do the work. He was rather rude. I explained that he has done alot of my work as well as my whole office staff work as we are right down the street, but if they are not the best price, I would not use them. He continued to be rude. I told him, I didn't appreciate his customer service and neither myself or my staff would use his services again. I took my car directly across the street, where they are completing my repair

Midas down the road from us on S. Wadsworth in Lakewood, CO which we have used for years for our company and personal cars, has been declining over the last few years with change of management. Today they were extremely rude and we will go across the street from now on to Lakewood Lube where the customer is important...

On 9/24/11 in marysville,ca. I went in to have 2 u-joints put in my drive line. It cost me $120 just for the labor. 11days later on the freeway my drive line fell apart. I was going to work. Not only was I late for work but they would not come tow my vehicle to a Midas that was only 5 miles away. I had to take apart my drive line on the freeway and put my vehicle in 4 wheel drive go to a pick and pull and get a used a rusted drive line, they paid for it but refused to put in new u-joints and I had to wait the next day for them to put it in. Now after only have put less then 4000 miles on the used drive line it needs to be replaced. Its going to cost me from the damage done when my drive line broke and want needs to be fixed about $1000 I have all my paper work and have tryed to contact them! to make good on there name but LOL no luck. I don't care how nice or fast they are just do the job right. It make me sick every time I hear that trust the Midas touch. I will never go there if I was you, unless you don't ca about your vehicle and want it to fall apart on you when your driving. Don't go to them for anything. .......if Midas wants to do good they can rodmanmark6968@yahoo.com

Xp2ZB4 Thanks again for the post.Really looking forward to read more. Want more.

Midas should be out of business. I've been a Customer for years and one day i passed the shop that i normally recieved great Customer service at and To My astonishment it was out of business. Keep in mind i just purchased a Full set of tires with waranties. Because these shops are not required To keep records it took me a Full month To be reimbursed. Roma the manager at 23rd and penn is not competent To run two stores and adds insult To injury when theyy carelessly mixed My coolant causing bonding. Midas you owe me a radiation flush!

I went to the local Midas shop in Coral Springs, Florida for an oil change. Ended up paying $144.00 because I need a serpentine belt. Told it was in bad shape and could be serious. It was a Sunday and my dealer was not open, so I told them to go ahead with the work. By the way, this is a 2010 auto with 15,000 miles on it. It seems like this shop has a weekly money quota to meet and they will try and sell you anything. On Monday, I went to the dealer with the belt that Midas changed. I was told there was nothing wrong with the belt and they normally last 30 to 40 thousand miles. I think the corporate office should look into this ongoing problem. Midas is nothing but a rip off and I, my associates or friends will ever use Midas again.
