250 Reviews For Massage Envy Headquarters & Corporate Office

They should get zero stars. Worse than poor. When I signed up for a membership, over a year ago, I was told that I could "give" a message to any family member, for an extra $10.00. Due to my schedule I cannot keep up with my own messages so I have been "giving" them to family. I discontinued my membership last month and was told that I had 7 messages left and 30 days form the last draft to use them. I tried to schedcule a family member message today and was told that I can no longer do that. It has to be one time in 6 months. I told them that I was never told that and was, in fact, told the opposite. Their response to me was that I should call the corporate office. Well....THE PHONE NUMBER IS NO GOOD!! So I called the Dublin branch to ask them for another number and was told that the only number that they had was the one on the corporate website. Same number, still no good. I, too, will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Word of mouth works well also.

The so call manger and front staff are the most rude people I have seen. I too had to cancelled my membership after a year due to finances. I was told that I could freeze them or I could use them up in a months time ! How was I going to be able to use 13 massages in less than 30 days???? I asked to transfer some to relatives and was told that "their computers would not let them transfer more than one a month"(stupid) I then asked if they would give me back my money for the ones didn't use and of course the answer was no. I too am waiting for someone from coporate to get back with me Will never recommend them to anyone!!!!!!!!

I applied for a clinic manager's position and received a return call from a very young-sounding, brash man. His concern, apparently was that I probably got paid much more in the past, and would not want the pay they are offering. I was aware of the pay, and indicated that it would not be a problem. He proceeded to tell me that I would be overworked and underpaid. He related how much work it would be to hire and train people, and not get paid enough! Before I could explain to him that an experienced, professional manager knows how to effectively recruit and still maintain the operations, he informed me that "this is not a match" ...and he "knows" because he has interviewed "hundreds" of people. Oh really? He only heard 2 sentences from me. Very unprofessional. Bad representation of the company. He has a lot to learn.

All of these reviews are interesting, but not surprising. The lack of professionalism starts with the recruiter at Massage Envy. How can a totally arrogant, unprofessional kid recruiter possibly hire a professional manager?

Massage envy membership is a scam. I have reported the Minnetonka, MN branch to the attorney general's office and they are looking into the case. I will also report them to the better business bureau. They need to be shut down completely.

For those of you that have been scammed by the one year membership contract, I have contacted my lawyer and we are working on bringing a class action law suit against the company. I will send out an email address for these class action law suit. Be on the lookout.

The company should be re-named massage scam.

I'm so sorry some locations have not very nice people at the front desk. But I know where I go, we have the sweetest girls and a very nice gentleman working at the front desk. And of course the massusases are just so wonderful! They have really kept my membership going for the past two years!

II had to rate the one in Greensboro Nc They are very rude disrespectful and rebbish..

Even though the massage therapist, is very nice, the management at the South Park, PA location is unbelievably rude & arrogant.

Regarding the ME Cotati, I wish I had the option to check 0 stars. As a former employee I must tell you if this location is an example of how they treat their across the board, all the rumors are true about this corporation. I had a medical emergency had left my things including phone at work by mistake when I left on break. I was late coming back from break by 8 min due to this emergency, that the front desk was aware of. My client that I was to be working on had not checked in yet and unknown to me was still with the front desk (she was new so I did not recognize her.) Anyways, I stood there slowing the conversation about the weather to finish, she ten left. I inquired about my client not yet showing as checked in and my availability and apology. The front desk person then informed me that the person that had been at the front desk for the past 15 min was in fact, my client. He was instructed to send her to a different spa. The next day I was fired, accused of not coming back to my shift, and being late for my client causing them embarrassment. I had brought in several new clients in the 5 weeks I had been there plus secured 6 regulars. This was my first and only offense, and they knew of the medical situation yet still chose to terminate my employment. To all new therapist avoid this place, to all perspective and current clients understand this place does not respect the therapists, only their pocket books.

Severna Park Massage Envy, asked me if I wanted to quit when I complained about being over charged. I guess they have too much business!

I tried to schedule my first appointment with Massage Envy and the woman that answered stated they had an 8pm-9pm so I tried to reserve it; keep in mind they take walk-ins. She tells me that I need a credit card to hold the appointment, never quotes a price or discusses which service. I am uncomfortable with giving a perfect stranger my card number without some kind of discussion. I tell her that I have had people steal my credit card number and use it and as her to tell me her name. "My name is Jennifer and I am the manager here." We don't have to give you an appointment and you don't have to come here." She didn't even offer a reservation receipt via email like hotels do. I go to other places for massages and have never been asked for my credit card before meeting the person, hearing about products, prices, something.

after being a member since they opened the mcmurray pa branch i have to cancel my membership. i have nine sessions paid which totals 449.91 i was told since i,m cancelling my membership i lose all that money! not very happy with that i will be calling the better business bureau and file a complaint will also tell everyone i know to stay away word travels fast in a small town

I am seriously thinking of filing a lawsuit aganist Massage Envy regarding discrimination in the city of San Diego(not sure how other locations are) but i have relocated to San Diego 1yr ago and have applied with literally 4 different Massage Envy locations. I of course get called in for an interview because of my resume i have been an Esthetician for 5years and have worked in very professional environments and am myself is very professional, proficient and take my work with seriousness, i love what i do. I always get an interview oh they so love my resume and i have even gone back for 3 different interviews/practicals but the problem?! I am black. San Diego defintnely have very low standards, and for a person of color to come in with some kind of professionalism-they don't know how to take it. They ASSUME because you are not WHITE you cannot do the job uhhh but they would rather hire immature girls that fit the beach california stereo types straight out of school who do not like to work and so because of that they CONTINUE to have extremely HIGH turnovers! Massage Envy! The world is not ONE COLOR anymore! Hire all ethnicities! I am sick and tired of them posting need help but will not hire ethnic races-why don't you add on there "if you are of another race besides whites-DO NOT APPY!

While sitting in waiting room listened to receptionists and therapist on 6/18/12 at Plymouth Minnesota heard them make contant ridicule of clients and passerby's. These ranged from goss and fat to disgusting to older than anything to even making racist statements about someone who was just passing by the location.

Is there a working corporate number? I signed up for program at time was told that they could massages could be built up and saved to use at further date. when I signed up there was also a spa with in 45 miles of my house. With in a week of me signing up it closed, I now have a disability preventing me from getting to any of the spas within a 75 mile radius and I can't get a refund. Oh but they will let me keep the 7 massages I have for until 12/31/12 and wave the transfer fee if I choose to transfer them to someone whom lives where they are graced with these spas.

I made an appt for myself and my daughter for June 6 2012, upon arrival we filled out some forms. After a great experience with the receptionist, she led us to the waiting room. There was a hispanic mom and daughter arrived after us and was also brought into the waiting room. Well, a therapist came and called my daughter in to start her session and surprisingly two other therapist came in and called the hispanic mom and daughter that came in after us to start their session. I was wondering why , I was left by myself and after being the first to arrive, why didn't I get called in first. After sitting there another 5 or 10 minutes to see if anyone was going to call me in, noone called me. I went to the front and the nice young lady asked me "how was your session", I told her noone called me in and they took the mom and daughter who came after myself and my daughter. I was very offended, was it because we were african american , living in miami where you have to speak spanish to get a job and where I was born and raised and now hispanics seem to be the culture that has been allowed to take over, where my mom and dad worked hard to build to make the way for most of them here to come to our country. This was dissapointing because my daughter was visiting from Georgia and I made this appt. for a mother , daughter day. This location is in Palmetto Bay Fl. 13605 S. Dixie Hwy. I work for a Financial Institution and I see clients all day and I would never give this kind of service. Someone came out when they found out they over looked me and she tried to lie . Her response was your appt was at 2pm , I asked her was the mom and daughter that came after me appt at 2pm , why were they called before me. Then she try to say , I was assigned a specific therapist , I asked her how can that be when this was first time there. She tried to lie for the horrible service. I paid for my daughter and I know a lot of people and will make sure they never buy another gift certificate for this place again. My daughter is military and was here to spend a week with me and they just ruin the entire concept of this particular event. Also the receptionist response to me was , "they didn't call you", she was surprised herself. I heard so much about massage envy, we just gave a friend of mine a gift certificate and one of my nieces for diffrent occasions. This will not happen again, I will make sure everyone knows, this place is not all it's cracked up to be. Living in Miami Florida and now a days, Hating It!!!!!! Planning on getting the hell out of here soon. It doesn't benefit you to live here anymore , if you don't speak spanish. You can speak no english here in Miami and get a job, but no spanish no job. Pitiful!!!! On top of that most are not educated, they come here after one week they have jobs , after you have been here all your life and can't get a job because you don't speak spanish. My husband is spanish and my sons , so noone can play the race card with me. My husband agrees, this experience at massage envy just proves everything , and what we are going thru here in Miami. Katie and Sara, I am no longer abole to work there for the followng reason: SCOTT JORDAN. Scott is usuless, immature, and a real charecter. Last ight I asked him to do a walk through. He diod not empty the hampers, or even know what they were, laundry was replied with "I don't do it." I advsied that is all part of a walk through to which he replied very rudly "WHARTEVER." I dod the best I could with the charts although some are missing. I guess if Scott does not care as a manager I will follow the example he sets for us. Also I told him that as a manager he sould be able to fill in any position and help as needed except LMT to which he walked out. I was finishing up when he came back in and got in my face and threatened me by yelling: " You listen and you listen good. I do NOT AHVE TO DO ANYTHING or listen to you." I replied that as a manager he sets the example and again he exploded on me. I threw my key and said to find a new closer. I will be following up with the police department tomorrow and I will make SURE EVERYONE KNOWS. I will ne more than happy to answer any additional questions. I would alos like to remind you Katie that Franchise liscenses can be suspended and revoked by a parent company. I am sure Corporate will be thrilled on how your management staff leads byt example. Joe

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. INCOMPITENT STAFF--I was refused a massage and a facial because I am on coumadin. Your therapist must do their research...they will find that a light massage on a person who is taking a low dosage of coumadin will not kill anyone! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THE STATEN ISLAND OFFICE-HORRIBLE ATTITUDES IS WHAT I DEALT WITH. I went to de-stress at massage envy but ended up leaving more stressed than ever. How ironic. I WILL BE FOLLOWING UP WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!
