I was referred to MS member when my lower back was bothering me. I went it was fine-I joined for the 49.00 a month/1 year. My second time there a week later as a follow up to my dicomfort it was fine. My first months payment was taken from my account at 59.00 not 49.00. I call and spoke with the office (Seal Beach CA.) to let them know of the error-I was assured it would be reemnurssed to my account-after a couple of weeks it was not. I called again-same story. Made my next appt went in was kept waiting 45 minutes-told them not acceptable they either over booked or someone was late and they honored their 60 minute appointment-I was not happy-also brought up the error in my payment. Again told it would be handled. It wasn't.I called again to speak to the someone was told the Melony took care of those things and would be in at 10 and would call me-she didn't-I called again at 11 and was told she had not come in yet. I'm DONE. I called my bank, put a stop payment on the deduction-I still have not been called or reemberssed for my $$$. You have to know that word of mouth is your best form of advertizment-i have nothing positive to tell anyone about MS and you can bet they will hear me loud and clear. Linda Ackerman
Are there any legal ramifications to a Massage Envy withholding tips until they feel like giving them to you? I am a pretty smart guy, the laws and policies governing tip payments are confusing. I am currently (and regrettably) a current employee of a Massage Envy franchise in TX. According to my calculations, I am entitled to $210 in Credit Card tips. These have been accrued for over two weeks, and manangement is constantly coming up with excuses as to why they cannot be given to me in a timely manner. All of these excuses are simply that, rationalizing a way out of paying me money earned? So, has anyone else had this kind of issue, and if so, do you know of any laws or policies I can research before I speak to an attorney? I, like so many other therapists out there, rely upon my tips to be given to me regularly just to survive.
I'm so sorry to hear about all the issues some members are having. I love my Bedford Hills, New York Massage Envy Spa. The front desk staff are very nice and professional. I too, "transferred" my membership to a different location. The original spa in Stamford, CT was 13 miles from my house and I enjoyed going there, just wished it was a bit closer to my home, because after a nice massage, I really didn't care to drive far. Then a ME opened about a mile from my house! I inquired on how to "transfer" my membership. The original spa said to come in and fill out a short transfer membeship form & they made a copy of my drivers license to prove the new spa was indeed closer to me. It took about 30 days for the corporate headquarters to transfer the membership. One hr massages in my area typically range from $80 to $120, so I know the ME rate is good. I use the monthly pre-paid and then have a couple more massages per month. It helps that they are open on Sat & Sun, so I can always schedule an hour for my well-being. Hope this helps someone.
DON'T go to the Massage Envy Spa in West Chester. They have a large turn over at the front desk. They are very untrained, rude. The lad that runs the place. Plump, younger gal, is very brash, trips over her own words. Her mommy owns the place. They also go thru massage therapists like wild fire! That location is HORRIBLE!!!!
I'm rating them based on trying to gift your massage package to another person. They want to charge you another $10.00. When you can come in off the street an get a one time massage for far less than the 1yr package agreement. That makes a member get charged more. ? Not a good way to make members happy.
I give the masseuse 5 stars but the customer service and management-0 they suck they over charged me. I had a gift card for 49$ and my husband and i got a massage my card was charged 118$ly" and 8$ "accidentlly"its been a month and they still haventput my money back! Tierrasanta massage envy san diego they suck and I'm gonna go in there and raise hell cuz they charged me 59$ for memebership but can't refund me my money back! WTF!! Bastards
Really 0 stars. I use to be employeed with this company as a front desk associate. It was the WORST
Giftcard at Massage Envy Burnsville MN? THINK TWICE! Last Christmas, my dear sister did me a huge favor so in return I purchased a 6 months paid in full upfront membership listed my sister as the member. I'm too cheap for a massage myself and was a bit weary of the contract so we didn't take the membership after the introductory offer but Courtney advised that all that was needed at the time is in May, my sister just has to cancel if she doesn't want to carry on in May. Now, she's a hair stylist and she LOVES massages so it is very likely that she will continue on UNTIL after her THIRD massage in April that she was told that she already used up all six sessions!!! They included the two times that she took her mom & her husband with her and she paid with cash for them since that was their first time. It took several intense conversions with SANDY, the current manager, who FINALLY got a grip that she accidentally included her mom and her husband, who paid cash for their first visits. My sister requested a cancellation in May for the membership that due to expired in August and Sandy TOLD her that she will take care of the cancellation in May. A couple weeks later, I went in with her to get an update and we scheduled three sessions and both she & I signed the cancellation that was promised by Sandy back in MAY. Later we looked through the record and found that she did go six times so we called to cancel the extra one. Lately, Sandy kept calling her requesting her to pay for the extra visit that we did not receive. So the gift that suppose to relieve the stress actually causes her UNNECESSARY STRESS. This is the WORSE gift I ever gave to anyone!!!! So think twice.
it sounds like none of you even read the agreement you signed. it is the same contract across the board and states all the requirements in it. it sounds like a bunch of angry people that want to try and pull out the word attorney or BBB.... when they have paperwork backing it all up.. good luck with that. i wish you much peace. i will be praying for you
If you try to cancel your membership: 1) you have to do it in person 2) it takes 30 days to process the cancellation so you get charged for an extra month that you don't want to use 3) they say this was in the agreement you signed but they don't tell you any of this, they just give you the hard sell to join 4) write to the CEO at this address to complain and write to you state consumer agencies and the Federal Trade Commission-- maybe then they will sit up and listen.
I got the massage as a gift, because I work a lot and am stressed sometimes. Needless to say I was more stressed after the massage than before. Not professional people running the place. I went in and when the girl came into the waiting room to ask about my information, I repeatedly kept asking her how it was charged. She would not tell me I almost walked out, because they wanted me to be a member but would tell me about the membership then. THAT WAS MY FIRST SIGN! After I went to the front desk and the girl started her spill, I said I wanted to wait and I would come back if I deceided to be a member. A peron whom was supposed to be the manager started this spill about if I did not sign up then all the money I would have to pay to sign up later, I felt pressered but still Signed up. Went home and I could not get comfortable about it. 2 hours later I called and told the girl at the front desk to please cancel I did not want to do it, she sent me a cancellation form on Sunday. I emailed it back. And now no one will talk to me or let me know if they really cancelled my account. What devils, You guys hold on for a minute they are going to mess with someone whom will sue them, and maybe they will straight up there act. PLEASE DON'T GO TO MASSAGE ENVY!!!!!!!!!!!! Seems a reputably business would at least try to talk to you. They are trouble. I am more stressed out then when I went there.
I filled out all the forms on line. I'm on vacation and cannot get anyone to call me back to book a massage and facial. Bad customer service and taking my money elsewhere.
I am contacting Massage Envy to see if you would be interested in some inexpensive advertising in the Northern Virginia and Richmond Virginia area. I am fielding a race car in the Arena Racing league which is a family oriented sport. It is attended by the whole family and the audience is growing at each race. It is held in the Ricmond Coliseum. The sposorship you could offer could get you instant benefits. If you have any questions or would like a Sponsorship Packet please con tact me at Skiorrace@gmail.com
If I can give 0 stars I would! They were very convincing with their membership offer but failed to tell us that you cannot cancel it after a year commitment! Finally I just accepted the fact that I am stuck with this commitment without considering my busy schedule. I go to school and work late hours thus, making it difficult for me to even come in for an hour massage. When I did have time to schedule an appointment, the receptionist said that my account was "cancelled?" I spoke to a manager telling her if she could keep it cancelled/ frozen like that but she refused and told me she has to put my account back on! She was unprofessional and rude. I felt like I was paying money for this crappy customer service! I called back a couple of days to speak to the owner and he told me he would gladly freeze my account for me if I call on the 19th of July because he will be around and it will give me a chance to use my rollover minutes I have not yet used. On the 19th I called to freeze the account and he asked me what my reason was, and I honestly told him that I have no time to use their services for I will be out of town such. He flat out said that he couldn't do that because it is not a serious reason, like a heart attack or injury. He accused me of lying because I "keep changing my story" when initially I told them I was going to be out of the country for the summer and one of his employees had told me that they could freeze my account for that. I had to argue with the owner because he now won't freeze my account! Finally after telling him how upsetting this is to me, and how I would NEVER recommend it to anybody I know, he did it. So obviously he was playing games with me when he could've done it in the first place! I tried to call the corporate number and NOTHING! It is disconnected! This is by far the worst experience I have EVER had! They lie to you, and all they care about is your money! Unprofessional and poor customer service!!
When I moved to South Tampa from North Tampa in 2008 I requested that my membership be transfered and was told that I couldn't. So needless to say, last June the North Tampa office charged me my monthly dues and the South Tampa office charged me instead of giving me my free massage. So I had to call the South Tampa office to get my credit card issue resolved then call the North Tampa office to ask again about transfereing my membership so this wouldn't happen again. The North Tampa office gave me a difficult time and even wanted me to send them a copy of my credit card bill instead of checking their computers. The manager even said she would have to run it up corporate since I was still in Tampa to approve the transfer. I told her that if they didn't want to transfer my membership THEN I WOULD CLOSE IT. After all there are a lot of spas in Tampa cheaper than Massage Envy!
I had a massage envy account for two years and never used it - I canceled and then they started charging my card again a month later - I just realize this after 4 months of charges have gone through - I a seriously upset and will be calling them first thing in the morning... DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!
The new manager of Massage Envy is making moves on my spouse and he is not neccessarily turning her down. Is there anything that can be done about this because I truly don't believe manager employee relationships are appropriate in the workplace nor do I think she should be a homewrecker.
I had a horrible experience at the Massage Envy in Federal Hill, Baltimore, Md. The franchise owner there is rude, mean and disrespectful to her own staff. I was hired by the franchise owner, the next day she escorted me out the back door and disrespected me as a professional, I am a Licensed Massage Therpist and should be treated accordingly, like a professional not some piece of rubbish. I would not recommend this particular location of the Massage Envy Franchise to anyone. Respect and common courtesy go alongway in this world.
HORRIBLE PLACE They CHARGED me because the receptionist THOUGHT I was making an appointment! I NEVER made the appointments! Just ASKED about availability and the actually had the audacity to CHARGE me!!!! STAY AWAY from these poorly managed placed with at best MEDIOCRE therapists! I had finally found ONE decent one in ALL of the offices in my area and the managers there did not reprimand the front office idiot, but charged ME for HER mistake! Another time, they had me waiting in the lobby for 20 minutes because they improperly "checked me in." They also LIED about giving me a courtesy call about the bogus made up appointments the day before when I COULD have let them know the error in time to save the charges! They never called (I have AT&T records!) and they lied to cover their mistake. I am disputing both charges with the credit card company, but what a SNOTTY, mediocre, poorly managed business. SAVE YOUR MONEY! All you will get is ENVY of those of us out there getting REAL massages from REAL masseuses that will actually treat you well.
I could cut and paste the bad comments that others have written. Apparently this is how the Company is run. I loved the massages (although I could get the same massage for the same price anywhere) but the office people are horrible. If this company suffers it is do to them. I went in and changed my debit card # on 7-10-2012 knowing that the 7-22 payment would be pulled from the old account. on 8-22-2012 the payment was pulled from the old account again. I called them and they said they had no record of the change. Lucky for me (or I thought) I had taken a picture of their change to account sheet showing my new information and that I was changing account (and banks) but there wasn't a date stamp and employee initials on the form so I was told that that was not valid as proof. So, I tried to cancel my account. no luck they are still trying to charge the old bank and making numerous calls to me. Now the girl is threatening a lawsuit for the one month. What a mess.
