Kaiser Permanente is a costly weekly rate plus,HMO plans are miserable.hight cost Pxs,co-payments and it does not cover imagery work like MRI's.They are making me pay close to $ 900.00 dollars, out of pocket expense. Patient Financial Services Dept.allows one of its branches to harras patients like me with collection letters when they know payments are being sent fifteen days in advance.I have a lot more to write. The whole deal is NASTY.
Today, 7/28/2011 I can NOT tell you how LONG I have been on the phone dealing with this SHAMEFUL organization called Kaiser. I was RAISED on Kaiser so I already KNEW how god awful, agitating, frustrating is was and would continue to be...but I again, try and hope that possibly things would improve and get better...WRONG!..again WRONG!! I called appointment services and asked to speak to a supervisor. I asked him some "questions". My questions were: * Do you know how FRUSTRATING it is to attempt to contact/reach/ your doctor because your not feeling well (via the new "online" system)? * Do you know what it feels like to be a patient and not feel well...but your TRYING to get some help that IS PAID FOR, but now in your distress, you've got to remember PASSWORDS, USER names too?......Now, you can't sign in, because in your distress, you can't remember anything because now your anxiety level is going HIGHER, AND HIGHER into RAGE!!!! * Do you know what it feels like to then FINALLY get in your MEDICAL ACCOUNT to contact YOUR DOCTOR to only find that.....THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE!!!! - (Most people favor most to have a one-on-one contact and relationship with a doctor SO YOU WON'T HAVE TO WRITE A NOVEL to bring into the office to share with some "STAND IN" who (and let's just be honest here....does give a ****) because they will probably never see you again anyway!!! (*** IMPORTANT PART HERE*** - and it will cost YOU $20 bucks or more to WHAT?...COME BACK AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - WHICH IS WHAT??? MORE MONEY FOR KAISER!!!!--- (no service or resolution for me) ~I won't DRAG this out any longer..... Back to the point of today.. "the supervisor asked me (if I am remembering this correctly) was I "ok"?.... my response was that after dealing with you (Kaiser) I think I am having a nervous breakdown!!! Moments later....the SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT CALLED ME!!.... to find out if I was "OKAY"..ummmm WAIT...WAIT...this gets even better people - THEN THE SHERIFF CAME TO MY JOB!!!!! MY JOB!!....No really, MY JOB!!! - ( I at no time EVER, stated I was going to do harm to myself or others) and the call was recorded. So, folks...this is Kaiser! EXPECT TO BE OUTRAGED!
..I just wrote a review. But in-case you decide not to share it (you know, be a TRANSPARENT ORGANIZATION), its okay. That in itself SPEAKS VOLUMES! - I have a copy~
Kaiser sucks!
My name is Dr. Sybl Louvier, and I am the HIPAA authorized representative for Dr. Ronald Bernard, a patient who has been abandoned by Kaiser Permanente, and subjected to abuses in violation of the Elder Abuse laws. Despite the abandonment and abuse, this patient would be happy to settle for a return to his spine clinic physician who has been fighting a losing battle with Kaiser Permanente to overturn the decision of a new appointee, Dr. Susan Scholey, who for blatantly personal reasons, has been persecuting both doctor and patient at the South Sacramento, Department of Physical Medicine. There are numerous descriptions of the abandonment and abuse on the Ripoff Report and the Scam Informer under the name of Dr. Susan Scholey. Recently, Ripoff Reports have also been filed against the names of Robert Pearl, Robert Midgley and Richard Isaacs as well for their failure to remedy the abandonment. Finally, CalPERS has been alerted of the various methods Kaiser Permanente has of frustrating patient complaints. The full write up of that alert can be seen also on the Ripoff Report and Scam Informer under the name CalPERS. We are searching for someone who can put this business to rest. All the patient has ever wanted is to be returned to his physician, Dr. Gary Rinzler, AND, to have Gary Rinzler not continue to be subject to the blatant bias Susan Scholey demonstrates toward Jews. Dr. Rinzler is the sole Jewish physician in Dr. Scholey's Department, and her personal feelings have made Dr. Rinzler's life a living hell. Please, I appeal to you to investigate this matter. Sincerely, Dr. Sybl Louvier, Med Rep for Kaiser Member 2029522, Dr. Ronald Bernard
I own a small business and have had Kaiser for years. My employee called to get a same day appointment because her ear and neck were bothering her. The appointment/advice nurse asked her if anyone in her family had cancer. She cried for two hours before being told at the offices (not on the phone) she had an ear infection. How can you put people through that time and again. It is not the first time she has had problems with them either. I once called at 1:00 am for my son who was on a new medication and completely tripping on them. Wanting to run out the door, the room is too small things like that. I actually tied him to me when he would fall asleep so he would not sneak out. The "advice" nurse could not stop asking me if he was breathing. I could not get a word in to tell her his symptoms so I just hung up. As a nurse it is frustrating what some of the patient relations have come down too. His doctor did call first thing in the morning to make sure he was all right. I like the doctors and we have had ours for some time.
We payig for Kaiser insurance a lot of money. It's a very sad that the insurence that used to be very good till 2002 became the worst one. Kaiser just want us to pay but good help as if we need Kaiser to pay. I traing to get the resolt of the test since 6/6/11. So far I wasn't lucky. I sent the e-mail and left four messages with different kaiser's employees. It sad that the have no respansibility to their clients.
I work for a busy orthopedic office. When our office submits claims for cast supplies and material that are normally reimbursed by all insurances, Kaiser denies the cast supplies stating they are not allowed. We spend for staff appealing many claims, postage and follow calls let alone staff expenses trying to get reimbursed. As if our facility should pay for patient's casts. We pay for the supplies. Why is it our responsibility to pay for supplies. That's like saying, hey, go ahead and injure yourself and we'll pay for the bandaids, ace wraps, slings, casts, crutches, etc. We didn't injure the patients. Kaiser also has a long turn around time before payments are received. I think they'll be bankrupt before too long.
I was out of my medication so i called my doctors office to let them know that i did not take my medication last knight because i did not had any,so i need the doctor to refil it.I spoke with Christina at woodland hills Kaiser nephrology department to help me.She told me that there is no doctor in the office.I asked her so if somebody is diying there is no way that anybody can help. Her answer to me was if you were dying than you want need a ny medication beacause you will be dead. She was very rude and nasty.I just dont understand how come this people have ajob.I am going to tell anybody who want to buy insuranse from Kaiser, not to buy it.
I wish I would have Googled Kaiser Permanente Corporate Office before I selected this HMO. I am a new member and immediately my high blood pressure medicine was changed contrary to preference. I was on Benicar 20/12.5 and my blood pressure has been great 120/70. Kaiser has prescribed Losartan 50 mg and no directic. Losartan has a side effect that causes one to caugh. Who wants to do that!!!!!!! I attempted to get the corporate office telephone number; and as others have said spoke with someone in my region who was very rude and insisted that I had to go through them! For what? When you are going to rubber stamp your CHEAP POLICIES. REST ASSURED, I will NOT choose Kaiser for my insurance next year.
Took my youngest son in for his 4 year exam and immunizations. The nurse that was tending to us was extremely rude and insensitive to my 4 yo son. He learned that he was going to need a series of shots and his TB test, he became upset. When the nurse showed to give him the 5 separate shots, he became extremely upset. I had to hold him down. During the process, she grabbed the tray and walked out. She simply said "I will be right back". After 10 minutes of waiting and trying to calm my son down, no response from the nurse, I put his clothes back on and decided to leave. He had been laying on the table crying profusely. It was literally torture for him. When ready to leave, she walked back in with a thermometer in her hand and said, are you leaving. Duh! She then informed me that she left to get help. She never told us this. She never returned until she heard we were leaving. In the end. after he had calmed down some. Another nurse did the deed. It actually took two of us this time to hold him down. Because he had been traumatized by the first nurses actions. Not a good day at Kaiser Clinics in Santa Clarita California. This wasn't the first time we had an issue with the same clinic. In fact, I just came back from the clinic. We were told that we could show up at 8am to have my 4 yo TB test read and get a copy of the shots record for his new school. We showed up and he is worried about shots. I assure him that he will not have shots. Put the Nurse Reception says. Nope! The nurses don't start until 9am. You will have to come back then. What is wrong with these people? How can they have Great Doctors and shit for Nursing Staff? A lawyer is now looking at this matter. Does this reflect on the Directors of the facilities? Or on Halverson himself. Torturing children emotionally and psychologically is what it is being called.
I submitted a request for insurance in mid january, I had to callend of february to check on status. They had no idea where my application was, then they found it on the desk in the actuary's office. ( calculating whether they can make money off me. A week later received a letter that I need to go and get a physical and have blood work done. Now, just had blood work done in december and they have all my medical files from other physycians. I tried to find out why I need to pay approx $500 to fill there request, oh yeh, I should go to the doctor and get this done and have him write a letter so I can turn it over to a new doctor, I am sure he will be thrilled to do that. Any way I was trying to convince them that it only makes sense that I shuld go to there facility to do this and have there doctor see me, and, they should not charge me... there getting a new client. I do not understand why I should spend %500 for physical and blood workup for them and they can still turn me down after I do it. No one seems to understand this and I have tried to call there corporate offices and you only get a recording and guess, no return phone call...good luck with them
The service at the panorama city location is horrible. Staff is incompetent and rude. I have been trying now for three weeks to schedule an appt with no success. After being False information, I've had to fax over a referral numerous times, only to find out later The fax machine wasn't even working. Was later told someone would get back to me in 7-10 days? Very disappointed
Yes, the office staff can be rude and impatient, yes, sometimes not very knowledgable but the Doctors are wonderful, each one I have ever come in contact with has been very knowledgable, very caring and very professional.
I have had Kaiser for insurance since 2002 and the service quite frankly is lacking in many ways. Most of the representatives you deal with in all departments are very rude or just unknowledgable and when they have to research the question it takes generally more than 30 days IF they even get back to you. I have complained to them repeatedly and now have decided to go to the insurance commission and allow them to get my answers and I bet Kaiser will comply. I recommend going anywhere but Kaiser ....
the woman named Lupe whom i talked to today was very rude and disrespectful. even yelled at me. my dad couldn't understand english so i was speaking for him. she cut me off, yelled at me for getting involved in the conversation. uhh, you expect a daughter to just watch her dad being treated very rudely? i don't think so. and she was keep rejecting our request. we needed a recertification form because we recently moved to a new house and couldn't get the recertification form. even though the other lady who helped me the other day said that we will be able to get a recertification form. when i was explaininig that i just wanted to tell her what the other lady told me, she just cut me off in the middle and yelled "I don't care, put your dad back on the phone." he was listening to everything because it was on speaker. she was disrespectful from the beginning. when i was explaining what happened, she just cut me off and said "your insurance number". i had to ask her excuse me? because i was explaining what happened and couldn't hear her. i should've known right then to hang up and call later to speak to another person. she was very rude and disrespectful.
Applied for Kaiser insurance and received a call from Kaiser Foundation, very rude woman. The call came in at 12:37 p.m. MT from Kaiser Foundation - (818)238-9242. She was firing questions at me, did not let me speak, then stated she would let me know who got denied and who got accepted on my husband and my application. She hung up and within minutes my husband's e-mail received a denial on myself and a cancellation on him. With the amount of good, honest people looking for work, why would Kaiser use such an ignorant, rude individuals to help me with my insurance needs. We wonder why President Obama wants a public option. This woman within minutes canceled my insurance leaving me uninsured because she was either having a bad day or was the spawn of Satan. She also never gave me her name so she could protect herself from being responsible for her actions. How professional. So, on to the Insurance Commission for my state and also to President Obama's administration with my denial letter and my own letter stating what happen. Also, Mr. George C. Halvorson, CEO of Kaiser will be getting a copy of everything, as if he will care!!!
I set up an appointment for cervical screening, went there on my appointment date 9-8-11. I was in the patient room, doctor came in checked the computer and told me I was seen on 8-16-11 for a bladder infection, by an african doctor. I told her I didn't have a bladder infection and what my name was. They had me confused with another patient. Doctor appoligized and left the room. I waited for 30 minutes, no show. I got dressed, demanded me 20.00 dollars be refunded and that I would return when there was less confusion and lack of comunication. I was there at 8:45am for a 9:00am appt. did not leave until 10:am, what a joke. Confusing a someone with another patient can be very dangerous. Glad I wasn't there for surgery.
