If you ever have to file a complaint regarding service or care, BE ADVISED the Member Case Resolution Center will not respond to your compaint in a fair and professional manner. They protect their OWN. THE MCRC is protectional organization. There is no resolution they just passify with word and just delay any rebuttal. IT IS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME> SOMEONE PLEASE CHALLENGE MAY STATEMENT AND I WILL SHOW VOLUMES OF DATA SUPPORTING MY POSITION.
I would not recommend Kaiser anyone, especially in LA area. Kaiser is just for healthy people with minimum issues. With serious major problems do not go to Kaiser. Before I was satisfied with KP when i just visited it for physical exam or vaccination. But not anymore. Lately they lost my test results, and then they sent me letter that test was normal. For PAP result i am waiting about 1 month.Last two years i have been suffering from neck pain, I visited 4 doctors and asked MRI or CT, they refused. They can only give reffaral for x-rays.They just save money.I dont understand what service i pay for. I dont see anybody who i can file complaints. Member service?I sent couple grivances, but I dont think they can do much. I will recieve standard dry reply which could not change things.
This is a note intended to help Kaiser maintain the great number of suppliers that help you keep your various operations functioning. We have done business with Kaiser for years and have been responsible for servicing the equipment in your reproduction facility. I challenge anyone at corporate to make contact with your own accounts payable department or to have them return a call. I include the main department in San Diego or the various regional facilities in Northern California. We have 21 past due invoices going back to 2011. We can't even have the opportunity to talk to the supervisors or receive call backs. We have a great working arrangement with the people at Kaiser that we work with, but how long a term would you like before processing our checks?? We are a member of Kaiser--your terms for payment on our health plan are 30 days and we will receive a note of cancellation if we are one day past due. We would like to remain a vendor of Kaiser, but no company with reasonable business sense would survive under these conditions. Can't you please inform us as to what your problems are, and we will attempt to work with you. We certainly, after all of these years, do not want to lose you as a valued customer. I have been with Kaiser Permanente Southern California for many years, I am proactive in my healthcare, and I am satisfied. I have a suggestion, however, and do not know who to give it to. It relates to hearing aid coverage. My Kaiser insurance covers hearing aids every three years, to be fitted by only one dispenser: HearX. As I am sure you know, hearing aides are not only very costly, but one size/make/model does not fit all. Whereas HearX provides good overall service, they only deal with particular manufacturers, and I would venture a guess that they promote those aides that provide them with the greatest profit. As a patient, however, I believe that it would be best to check out the instruments from more than one dispenser. I, for one, may find a better aid offered elsewhere for the same price. In addition, by having more than one hearing aid dispenser, the competition may reduce the cost to Kaiser Permanente.
to whom it may concern, i'm writing in regards to your parking lot security. about 2 yeras ago, i was parked in your medical building garage at fontana, ca.for medical checked up. when i went to my suv, the truck was broken in and stole my sound system. now, just last week, i was in your new facility at anaheim, ca. i was ther for 3 hours. when i was about to leave, i noticed that mu suv was missing on your parking lot. it was stolen at your property with the presence of parking security. thi was the same suv that was broken into at your fontana property. since your company is spending a lot of money, you may consider getting rid of your security and hire a different one.
New to Kaiser, i'd heard the negative from years ago but had heard many positive things in recent years so I was open to having them as my healthcare provider. Over the past couple of weeks i'd been getting headaches which were becoming more frequent and severe, i'd had an episode like this about 2 years ago and the headaches were a result of dangerously high blood pressure. I contacted KP to make an appt. and was told there was nothing available for a week and half, was transferred to a phone nurse and explained my symptoms and history again and was told they could do a blood pressure check only appt. (a two minute procedure) in 2 weeks and that there were dozens of causes of headaches. What good is healthcare that you have to wait 1 1/2-2 weeks for an appointment? Many ailments have run their course in that time. And why would you dismiss my concerns when i've had the same symptoms previously with potentially serious consequences. I guess i'll just show up at the ER when/if I need care until i'm able to switch plans.
I no longer have KP and us the Veteran's Administration Medical Center. I had to go to KP's emergency due to heart problems. Told them I had the VAMC. The VAMC paid the bill but KP charged me for the amount over what they did not pay. Federal Law says they are supposed to accept the payment as payment in full. They sent the bill to collection and it remains on my credit report as a unpaid bill. I can't seem to find a lawyer to sue KP. Nobody wants to help. Unfair billing practices. I gave all the information I had to my attorney, Carol Horvath; and she dawdled on this case. I then asked her for the file, and have been waiting for it for months. Now I will have to go to Kaiser billing to get a copy of the bill, and the VAMC to get a copy of the payment and of the applicable Federal Law. Then I have to get a copy of KP's admiting forms to ensure that I did not sign away my right to court action. If I did, then I have to send it and all my proof to the Ohio Atty General. What I don't understand is why KP doesn't know the law? Why I was billed for the amount over what the VAMC paid when KP is required to accept that payment as payment in full? I also don't understand why I can't get a lawyer to defend me and sue? Dave
I am a on medicare and retired,on Dec 2011 i called Kaiser medicare dept.to enroll me for medicare for 2012,and i asked to also enroll my account auto pay from my social security pay,Kaiser Poeple told me ,i can do on the phone, and i provided all informations they asked me,and i was told it is done, and i dont have to worry, but as i called social security dept.Medicare, they told me.NO REQUEST OR PAPERWORK DONE BY KAISER,I called Kaiser, about 4 times ,every time they told me,its in process, and i have to wait,I suspected Kaiser poeple are missleading me and finally i talked with Kaiser supervisor, she told me nothing have been done and these poeple in Kaiser customer service were not telling me truth, and i have to start all over, and have to send a written letter, which i did and even after 3 months my request to establish direct auto pay to Kaiser have been done, and they wont budge to send me ANYTHING IN WRITING OR EVEN EMAIL THAT THEY HAVE RECEIVED MY DOCUMENT,THEY COMPLETELY DENIED AND IGNORED..ITS SHAME FULL FOR KAISER TO WAIST MY 3 MONTH OF TIME AND MANY PHONE CALLS,I wont trust Kaiser poeple they ar LAIER,and have no respect for their customers, even though we pay them for all services. Its shame.....
I wish that you had a rating under star as i can not even put into works how bad i feel Kaiser Sacramento Sucks. I was born at Kaiser and for the most part have been a life long Kaiser member however in 2010 I started to have issues with pain in my neck after requesting more testing after PT and meds were not working they finally agreed to do an MRI which came back with disk issues but i was treated like i should just suck it up and quit acting like a baby. after another year of chronic pain they suggested that i must be depressed and that i should see a mental health Dr. I refused as i am an otherwise happy person but any one who has gone thu an issue like this can tell you the only thing i was depressed about was the lack of empathy and understanding that the shitty Dr Campbell provided stay away from this doctor unless you never get sick after two years and much frustration i filed a complaint and am now being retaliated against for complaining about poor service I use to love kaiser but at this point i hope that my job fires me or open enrollment comes soon so i can drop this horrible service
My complaint concerns the billing department. I submitted an application for health coverage and was approved. I never received a membership card or a bill. 3 months after the applicaton, I received a cancellation notice and a bill for $767. I called to ask to be reinstated and was informed that I could not be reinstated until I paid the 3 months premiums - I never used the services and never received a bill. The reinstatement bill grew to $1067.50 (still had not used the services). Sent a letter to the Appeals Department. The bill had grown now to 1400 - and I still had used no services and received no premium bills. Medical coverage is no longer 1 doctor 1 patient........its a system that one must maneuver in order to get well. What a sad state of medical affairs. My father was a doctor and he treated patients "0ne at a time"........
Man, I can't believe how many people have been disappointed in Kaiser! Maybe they are not as fortunate as I am to have been treated in the Redlands and Fontana (California) facilities. I had a sebaceous cyst removed from my neck, yesterday, at the Fontana facility. The doctors, nurses, and staff were absolutely suberb! I highly recommend this HMO. Maybe the number of negative comments in this blog has to do with the tendency of people to more frequently voice their complaints as opposed to compliments.
My wife went into Kaiser yesterday (Friday the 27th) for her doctor appointment. After waiting in the exam room for one hour, with no doctor showing up, she went to the desk and said she was not waiting any longer. My wife has a neurological problem and she can't be jerked around like this. I simply won't put up with it. The person at the desk filled out a form as to why my wife was leaving and the gal marked the "patient not waiting" box - which was a total lie. My wife called the gal on that and said for her to change the reason for leaving - doctor not showing up. It was because of the poor service and the doctor not showing up. Kaiser may look good on paper, but the service (IMHO) sucks. As an insurance agent I am looking at alternatives for my wife's coverage. This was totally unprofessional and unacceptable. If George Halverson is such a "big wig" in the health field and one of the "movers and shakers" - why does he run such a shoddy company? If he wants to call me and discuss this further: 503-720-3918 in Portland, OR. Oh, and they said my wife would be called about this non-show - let's see it's been about 24 hours and no call.
On January 21, 2012 I rushed my daughter to the ER for abdominal pain, they only had 1 nurse in the station, boy we waited more than one hr. to get seen by the nurse, but after seen the nurse and my daughter got put on the room to wait for a Dr. all my angerness went away because everybody was so nice, thru the whole entire stayed at the hospital I appreciated all the nurses that took care of my daughter good and the surgeon that operated my daughter on that day and his team thank you. On that day this girl from admission came and said I was going to pay $150.00 I said ok when I leave I will pay, well the next day on Sunday when I was leaving she came again to collect my money, but said to me it was now $500, she saw my worry face of struggling with money, and what got me mad was that she did not let me know of counselors that can help you with financial, she collected my money of $200 and a janitor told me about this program and after the girl collected my money, she heard and said to me I can give an application to fill out, I was so upset because I didn't have to pay the %200, so I applied and thank God I got approved so they will pay the rest of it.
My daughter was enrolled in Kaiser while she served as a special education assistant in a public school. Now she's trying to enlist in the US Marine Corps to serve her country and her acceptance is now threatened because Kaiser can't or won't provide a simple prescription history to her. She will lose her specialized training slot in a couple of weeks if she doesn't receive this simple report from Kaiser. She has made multiple written requests and actually drove all the way from Utah to visit their corporate offices in Los Angeles where they promised the information would be provided. Her request would probably take someone about two minutes to fulfill but she's waited two months. Promised returned calls never happen and today's story is that they didn't receive her request(s) even though she's has proof of delivery from the USPS. There's nobody to call, nobody to write behind the walls that have been built to shield Kaiser management from its policyholders. Does anybody know how to reach somebody with a shred of conscious with this company?
Hello, on December 10 2011 I went to Kaiser emergency to be seen for a dislocated shoulder. I felt alot of unbearable pain. I would like to comment on how well I was treated by Dr. Ramsinghani and nurses. I will never forget how caring and efficient they were. How they administered medication to help relieve the pain I was feeling. I want to say "Thank You!" for helping me and comforting me while I was being treated for my shoulder at the emergency room at Oakland Kaiser in Oakland CA. From a happy patient Norma Brandon.
When I first got Kaiser via my marriage in 2004 for the first couple of years the service was good and I had no real complaints at all. In the past 3 years, the service (in the Atlanta area-Gwinnett facility) has gone steadily downhill. The wait time for prescriptions has doubled yet the staff has mysteriously shrunk. And I reported blatant fraud (committed by my husband for over a year) going so he could stay out of work and using the night time doctors to obtain pain killers he absolutely did not need-he was suspended by his job for abuse of his sick leave. I reported this months ago hoping for an investigation-nothing. Everytime I go theyhave my entire medical history in front of them and I could not get away with anything. But, my hubby went to the night time docs so they would not catch on and they did not. He was able to get all kinds of prescriptions and "notes" for work. Kaiser worries about consolidating to save money but I guess fraud is okay.
A year ago I would have given more stars but after what I have been through and am still going through I can't give Kaiser a good rating. First I will say that my kids pediatrician David Nakano is great and we just love him. Right now I can't say much else that is positive about Kaiser. I go to the South Sacramento, CA campus and the way chronic pain patients are treated is awful and inhumane. I have had 6 over surgeries and still need two more to correct inherited problems. I was also recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Syndrome. I returned to Kaiser in 2006 after a few years of living in an area with no Kaiser. My doctor at that time was Morgan Waters. At first he was great and workwd with me on my knee pain. He gave me Darvocet and referred me back to my orthodox dr, David Manske (wonderful dr and best orthodox surgeon - can't say enough good about him). I had knee surgery again on my right knee that had been bothering me a lot. Unfortunately I remained in pain after the surgery. Dr. Manske said my knee was fine and he didn't know why the pain was continuing. He recommended I work on pain mgmt with Dr. Waters. Dr. Waters kept me on Darvocet but eventually it didn't work because my body was used to it after 4 yrs (was on it for over a year before 2006). Dr. Waters refused to change it and began hinting that I was not using it for pain but to get high. In 2009 my left ankle started bothering me. The pain was excruciating by the end of each day. I waited several months before seeing Dr. Waters about it. He said nothing was wrong with it I just wanted more pain pills. That was it and I switched doctors. My new dr sent me to Podiatry where I was diagnosed as having a partially ruptured Achilles Tendon. I still was having chronic knee pain and it was getting worse. My new dr put me on Tylenol 4. I have been on it for almost 3 yrs and it doesn't help anymore. My body is too used to it. At one point my new dr wanted to try morphine but I was nervous about using such a strong narcotic. I have never used a single illegal drug, not even marijuana. My dr referred me to the chronic pain mgmt group. It was then that I was diagnosed with the fibro and myofascial. I only saw a nurse practitioner there named Darlene. She was so rude and treated me so badly. She was the one who diagnosed me on my first visit, at which time I also had terrible burning pain immutable neck and upper back, tension migraines (on top of the migraines I already get constantly), and still had the knee pain too. She increased my dose of Neurontin and that was it. I continued to get worse to the point where i couldnt work. On my second visit 2 mos after she diagnosed me she said I was too young to have a list of symptoms and said there was no medical reason for me to have pain and be home in bed sick. She also said that no other narcotics would help since the codeine wasn't. I told her it didnt work becausd of how long i have been on it (by the way prior to the first appt I did see my pcp and told him I was ready to try the morphine. He suddenly refused to give it to me and lowered my codeine dose even though i told him the codeine wasn't helping.) and told Darlene my tolerance level was built up. She said that doesn't happen and to show her scientific proof of it. She also said narcotics don't work for chronic pain and when i disagreed she again said to show her scientific proof. By then I was so upset I was crying because I knew she wasn't going to help me. She also refused to give me a note for work. I filed a grievance and requested stronger meds, a note for work, and an appt. in Rheumatology. They only approved the appt. They denied the meds saying that two narcotics hadn't worked so stronger meds wouldn't either. The drs who denied it were the Chief of Pain Mgmt. and the Chief of Medicine. Neither has met me and clearly didn't review my recordsfor if they had they clearly should have realized the meds worked until my tolerance to them built up making them ineffective. I am disgusted and will file an appeal plus I will be changing my insurance on Monday before open enrollment closes. Thanks Kaiser for letting me suffer so that i can't work and am losing pay plus my job is at risk and it is a state govt job. As I type this my neck, back, head, knees, toes, and more hurt and I can't sleep. I hate my life right now thanks to Kaiser.
Found this while looking for an address for George C. Halvorson and Jack Cochran. I also found several annual reports the most recent one of which is 2010 showing that KP made $90 million in donations. I do not mind that donations have been made but I do mind that they are making so much money off of people like me. I have stayed with KP because I can't afford the other insurance that my employer offers. When I joined KP over 20 years ago I would have rated all sectors of staff at five star. My doctors and nurses still rate five stars. Everything else about KP doesn't even rate the two stars that I have given them today. Thank you to some of the other postings, I am going to look for the insurance commission that many of you have mentioned. I wonder who reads these postings? I find it very sad that of all that are viewable there are only four rated above one star and one of them is my two.
I absolutely LOVE our Pleasanton Kaiser. Amy Gruber our pediatrician and Todd Dillard my OB/GYN are the best. I am concerned about the Nurse's One Day Strike. As a union supporter as much as I am happy with Kaiser I will back the nurses. Please do everything you can to come to a fair agreement.
I was call KP patient center as appeared on your KP Med Card requested the eye exam glasses prescription on Thursday, May 31, 2012 The lady said she will forwards my request to San Dimas Office. I asked wether should you mail or personally pick it up from the San Dimas Office . She replied she did not know the protocol but some one in that office will give me a call. Three days have pass but know call and no prescription. After I call KP. I made another phone call to Bass Ppo Shop in Motana requested a prepaid Fed X to return it merchandise. In Monday, June 4, 2012 I received their mail. This was no an isolate incident . Around 2010 , I went to the eye office in San Dimas myself after 4 weeks of no (prescription) showed the again I went to see same lady sat on the right facing her seat Then took another two weeks to received by mail. I, my wife and two other friend will look at Humana and will file the complaint to Ca Health Dept. and Ca Insurance Commissioner.
