My family reunion was booked at the Embassy Suites Hotel Miami Airport. When issued the contract for group rates, banquet hall room. We were never informed of parking fees for non guests of the hotel. While staying there for one weekend the hotel charged my family members that were not staying at the hotel parking fees. First, it started @ $7.00 then after speaking to the on duty manager she said well they could either pay parking fees or park their cars at their own risk on the public street. We noticed that other non guests of different nationalities being allowed to park for free. The manager noticing the attendant @ the guard gate being unfair and decided to give a discount to family members that were just visiting family members that were guests of the hotel. The fees for parking of non guests were never mentioned in the contract prior to booking. The family was very upset that different parking fee amounts were given to different people. My opinion is that if u were not of Hispanic decent you had to pay parking fees. After the incident the manager started charging $3.00 for parking because of the discrepency. Another problem was that some family members arriving to the hotel from long trips to Miami found out that their rooms were not ready. My uncle arrived @ 3pm Friday waiting almost 3 hours until he was finally given a room. Reservations were made months in advance. So in the future when drawing up a contract for lodging @ the Embassy Suites make sure u go over all of the hidden fees up front. Most of the staff spoke no English. It was a little Havana hotel. We might as well book our next reunion in Cuba. If you were not Hispanic you were totally given the whatever treatment from manager to staff. Lodging was from 7/15/10 to 7/18/10. This hotel is for Hispanics only. The red carpet was rolled out for them. We always used Embassy Suites for family reunions for many many years. Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale etc. This was the byfar the worst location ever. So if your Hispanic and want to have a family reunion this is the hotel for you and your family. The Corker family reunion will never lodge @ this location ever again.
Obviously, Frances is a gold-digging money grubber. She's the reason the rest of us have to pay such high rates. Someone like this is always looking to cheat the system or sue someone. Get a life!
My husband, myself, my daughter, my married son and his wife, his two children all stayed at Embassy Suites in Waikiki, HI April 6th leaving on April 12th. My husband chose Embassy Suites because we had all stayed in an Embassy Suites in Des Moines, IA late '09 and throughly enjoyed the stay along with the complimentary breakfast and Manager's reception. Unfortunately, our stay in Waikiki was not as pleasant. We were all very disappointed with our stay. My husband fell in the tub on our first night there due to the lack of a bath mat in the tub. The non-slip strips had worn down to almost nothing. The incident was reported and security took pictures. My husband filed a report the following morning and requested to see a doctor. The request was granted so that was good of the hotel. However, due to his injury, he and the rest of the family were unable to enjoy a vacation that had been anticipated with such excitement. In addition, if this were not enough, housekeeping came in and inadvertently took my daughter's teddy bear with the bedding. Now, this may not seem like such a big deal, but this particular teddy bear was given to my daughter at the time of her big sister's death. I would appreciate a show of concern and compensation from Embassy Suites to show that you do care for your customers. I believe that the following should happen: 1) No charge for the April 6th thru April 12th stay for my son's room and our room (as no one was really able to enjoy the vacation without my husband, his father participating). 2) A stay for six nights sometime in the future for ourselves and my son along with his family at no cost. Please let me know of your thoughts on this matter. Sincerely, Frances Bardessono 1614 Meade Ave Prosser, WA 99359
I was a guest staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel of Downtown Winston-Salem, NC. "The Twin Cicy Quater" as they call it. There is a Marriott a Convention Center then therer is a Embassy which I stayed in. I came to The Grille Resturant where I was greeted and Seated Wait Staff was very friendly at that time When I placed my order it took an hour and 30 minuted to get my food while wating n the food the wait staff and supervisor looked puzzeld and the other guest in the resturand either walked out or sat there mad, when I asked where is the food all they said was it will be soon. So as I said I waited a hour and 30 minutes and when the food finally came it was cold. come to find out that the Kitchen in the Embassy is closed for lunch but when the orders are put in it goes to the Marriott across the street and is cooked in the WS Prime in the Marriott then brought over to the Embassy, and I see why it took long because the WS Prime was packed and on top of that the orders from the Embassy were comming in so bacially the Cheifs had to cook for two resturants. It is not Fair to the Wait staff that they have to go through something like this bgeing that when mad guess ask where is food they cannot tell them its comming from across the street, however the General Manager knows about this and I was told that She came up with this Idea to cut back hours but that is bad whe it comes to coustomer service and pleaseing the guest. That should not happen in any resturant if your diningroom then the Kitchen should be open a well instead of trying to cut hours and bringing food in from another resturant then it cold by the time it is served
