The Roberts Rd store in Columbus Oh is full of liars and cheats and if you talk to Susan at corporate she is just as bad. I will never ever go there again and I have reported them to the BBB, Attorney General, and the news stations. Everyone is rude and they will tell you that you are a liar if you try to explain things to them. This is by far the worst place I have ever been. I would much rather buy my items used off craigslist.com so I can deal with nice people that wont call you a liar.
I am very upset! Bought a sofa and loveseat a few months ago and the sofa broke! the bottom fell out! Everytime I call I get the run around and never get a date of when my new couch will arrive! Finally I decided to just trade out for a set that they had in the store and they wont even deliver after a 2 month ordeal!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we paid for a couch and loveseat about a month ago. they told us that it would be in that week, then calling they said next week,then the next time they said they had one couch but waiting for the other, then the next they didnt hav any and it would be 2-4 weeks. then they said they have to place another order. seriously i paid for my furniture and you need to give it to me. I want my money back and no longer want this crap!!!!!!!! everytime I call they give me a run around about when its coming in and if i want something else! obviously if i wanted somethign else i would have purchased something else. we got rid of our furniture because they said a wekk to get it in. we have one little couch to sit on and this pisses me off! I dislike this company and you cant get anywhere, district manager sucks too as she doesnt call you back, so looks like corporate her i come. ft wayne indiana was the store
I purchased a dining romm table for 800 and they delivered the table damaged. I called the owner devon jones and expalined to him the situation and that i wanted a refund. Thats not possible i just have to wait until one comes in whenever that might be any where from 2wk to months. If i wanted the two table two weeks later i purchased it i would have purchase it then Devon told me in order to recive the new table that is not damaged i would have to pay another 85 delivery charge. I am so done and extremly pissed. I am suing Purchased March 8,2011 still nothing but BS
I did not look up anything like this before I ordered my merchandise, because if I had, I would not be having the problems I am now. I ordered 2 bedroom suits on January 31, 2011. I was told the beds were on backorder from the manufacturer, and that it would take 2-3 weeks for the items to come in, but no later than March 1. So I called on 2/24 and was told my items would be in the next day. So I said ok I would call back on Saturday, because the day that my items were to come in it would be raining. I called back on Saturday and was told the items still had not come in, but there was another truck coming in within the next few days. So I called back again on Wednesday, and was told that they didn't know when the merchandise will be in because they were on back order and it was all the manufacturers fault. I told them I wanted a refund and was told that it would take 7-10 days for the Home office to cut me a check. Today is the 9th day, and I was told that it would be 7-10 business days. If the check doesnt come in on Friday, then it should definitely be here on Saturday. If not then, it should be in shortly after that. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB, and I will get my money back if not I will be contacting a lawyer. The total of my purchases is $1091.80.
I bought a sectional on Friday and was told that we would get it on Saturday because it was late when we bought it and that was fine. We the next day (Saturday) we had our old one picked up and I get a call from the store saying they took my sectional to the wrong house so it would be a little late getting it here...no big deal it happens. Well at 5:30pm I call to check on it and they said there were a few more deliveries ahead of me but it would be here. Well Sunday came and still no sectional I called the store they said the truck broke down but I will get it later today. I was not happy I should have got a call last night but NO everyone went home before making sure everything was done. I said I wanted my money back so I can go get something today since my 4 kids are sitting on the floor they said it would take 4 days to get my money but they will credit me $100 and will get my sectional sometime today. Nice to see that all my business is worth is a $100 and no apology. I will be contacting the BBB and who ever else I can come up with. The store picked the wrong person to upset.
I ordered from the one in antioch tn an I got my sectional but my swivel chair wasn't in the warehouse so they had to order it the lady said it will only take 7 to 14 days an she said it shouldn't take that long its been damn near 4 weeks an I call everyday they keep tellin me its on backorder I pissed off I want my damn furniture!!!

DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE!!! I HAVE BEEN WAITING 3 WEEKS FOR FURNITURE THAT MAY OR MAY NOT EVEN COME BACK IN. I ASKED FOR A REFUND SINCE THE ITEMS I PURCHASE ARE NOT IN THE STORE AND THEY ARE EVEN UNSURE THAT THEY WILL HAVE THEM AGAIN AND WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT A FULL 30 DAYS FOR THE ITEMS. IF THEY DON'T COME IN THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL I BE ENTITLED TO A REFUND.. I DON'T WANT YOUR FURNITURE ANYMORE I'M TIRED OF WAITING FOR MY FURNITURE AND JUST WANT THE MONEY YOU'RE HOLDING OF MINE TO GO ELSE WHERE TO GET FURNITURE. I Purchased a 5 pc bedroom suite along with an additional nightstand & media chest on 2/15/2011 at the Chattanooga,Tn location. I was told upon purchase that the media chest was not in stock, but could be ordered for me at no additional charge. I agreed under the pretense that the media chest would arrive in 7-8 days. I also agreed to wait to have my furniture delivered until the media chest arrived so that I could avoid 2 delivery charges. A week past & when I called to check the status of my furniture they said that the media chest had arrived & that my furniture would be delivered as soon as possible. I called back 4 hrs later to find that my media chest had not arrived. I agreed to have my other furniture delivered(they didn't show up until 11 pm) under the terms that the store would deliver the media chest free of charge upon its arrival 7-8 additional days later. Another week has past & I have spoken with both the manager CHRIS DEAN & the assistant manager TERRENCE JONES who actually sold me the furniture & both of them have been very unprofessional as well as unaccommodating. I have also spoken with the DONTE at the Marietta location who was very apologetic & very helpful in finding the numbers to the district managers in which I needed to speak with. However, I have been unable to reach any of them! I made a very LOUD entrance into the Chattanooga location today & demanded a refund from TERRENCE JONES who informed me that he wouldn't refund my money that he would just call me in 6-8 WEEKS when the pc arrived. I told him that was unacceptable. He stated " Thats not my problem but Im not refunding your money nor will I give you your media chest today " He even went as far as to deny the fact he sold it too me! I showed him his name on my sales receipt & he said he didn't care what it said. I plan to call my attorney first thing in the morning! My friend is a paralegal & for those of you wondering this is ILLEGAL! It is called Fraud; to sell something under false pretenses for personal or CORPORATE GAIN is deceitful & again ILLEGAL!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! They will not serve you anything, but a huge helping of unprofessionalism & LIES!
I purchased a twin mattress and box spring. they delivered the wrong size box spring and I've been calling once or twice a week to get it swapped out. This has been going on for almost two months. And the kick in the ass is that my 1 yr old was able to climb on the twin bed (because of the lack of box spring - lower height), and he fell off and broke his leg. I realize this is not their fault but it wouldn't have happened if we had the box spring.

I ORDERED 2 BEDROOMS SETS AND WAITED FOR 3 DAYS AFTER THE PROMISED DELIVERY DATE. wHEN THE SET FINALLY DID ARRIVE I HAD NO BED FRAMES. NOW I HAVE MATTRESSES ON THE FLOOR WITH A PROMISE OF BED FRAMES TO BE DELIVERED ONE OF THESE DAYS!!! THE BEST THE MANAGER COULD DO FOR ME WAS TO TELL ME TO COME IN AND PICK UP THE FRAMES MYSELF EVEN THOUGH i PAID FOR DELIVERY!!! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS SCAM.
Been done in with Bait and Switch by American Freight, this company need to be shut down or replace with honest customer services within the store and delivery company. It's a shamefull business that have very bad customer service. I did not known of this company since I'm new to the area of Indianapolis, IN. But on November Black Friday, I when christmas shopping, I did not know any better, but my daughter said this place had cheap, good furniture items on sale (or else I would of gotten my granddaughter queen mattress set somewere else, like Sears who had a matrresse set sale for $300.00 online)these item were on sale but it was a game of bait and switch. I could of gotten better service for the money, but no I listen to my daughter who said I could get it cheaper at American Freight! Instead it's been a nightmare these past few months, plus the extra cash ($85.00)they need to upgrade since the orginal order was not shipped or it was lost after a month and all this did not include the $65.00 for delivery of the set. So now the total is $450.00 for a decent mattress set that was on sale for $250.00. So I did fall into the bail and switch without knowing it. So I reported this to the BBB so this company action will be availabe to reveiw for others customers. Now I will be requesting a REFUND this Feburay 2011. Because this is not decent running outlet business. Plus when they did delivery 3 month later the driver torn holes in the upstairs hallway to my granddaughter bedroom with the box springs and when they realized the box spring could not fit the area?? instead of backing out they kept on trying to force the box spring up the stairails cause holes in the walls and ceiling. Now WHO going to pay for that? Not my daughter, so on Monday we are going to contact a lawyer to see what can be done about this and suggest my daughter landlord to press charges for damages that they caused to the apartment wall and ceiling.
I read all of these reviews and purchased anyway, but that was huge mistake. This place has the worst customer service possible. If anything goes wrong they will not make it right and they don't care about the customer's satisfaction at all. I promise you, I am not a disgruntled employee or anything like that. I am just a consumer who just had the worst experience in my whole lifetime. DO NOT BUY FROM AMERICAN FREIGHT!!!

I went to the Nashville/Antioch location on Saturday to purchase a mattress. The salesman assisted me and I purchased a mattress. I paid for it in full, and was told that it would be delivered later that day. It grew late(almost 7 pm), and I called the store, only to be told that they were running behind. They NEVER showed up or called. I waited until they opened on Sunday. I called and was told that they were out of the mattress I ordered and it didn't show up in their system when they took my money! To make matters worse the salesman said he found it out before he was leaving for the day, and in his haste to get off, he forgot to call me. I demanded my money back, and then they offered to sell me a different bed for small amount (only after I told them I wouldn't pay the additional $100). Sounds a little like bait and switch to me. I am still waiting to receive my bed and they close in a couple of hours. I have never received such POOR customer service. I will NEVER buy anything from American Freight, and be assured I will NOT recommend them to anyone.
I visited the Buffalo, NY warehouse and the customer service was horrible!!! One female employee commented on the color shirt I had on, laughed and called me derogatory name. I smell a lawsuit coming your way.
I live in Detroit, MI. I purchased furniture from the store in Warren on 14mile Rd. and Dequindre. It took three weeks for my furniture to get delivered, on the day of delivery my furniture was delivered after 11:00p.m., how unprofessional! Then they just dropped the boxes of and told me to assemble it myself. I called the next morning and the smart ass manager of the store told me that I had to come in and pay a fee unless I was old or disabled. I ask about the refund policy and he told me there isn't one. After I told him about himself and told him f*ck you, he had the audacity to call me back and tell me that I was rude and he was going to note my statement in my account. I suppose that was a threat to me. American Freight sucks in more ways than one, and I'm callin news stations, and better business bereau. So note that in my account as well!
I was on Washtenaw Ave and almost went to their store in Ann Arbor today to look at a couch but was running late so I didn't. I'm so glad I saw this blog. These companies that have shoddy customer service need to realize that word gets out. After reading so many horror stories and seeing so many low marks, I will not be going there.
