I am an attorney and I had a similar experience to all those who have had problems with this company. Their business practices are disgusting and their attitude toward rectifying these issues is even worse. I strongly urge everyone on here who had a bad experience to contact their state attorney general's office and report this company to their consumer complaints division (this particular division is called different things in different states so just tell them what'd you like to do and they should be able to direct you to the correct person to lodge your complaint). The more people that complain, the more likely the attorney general will investigate and put an end to this.

They r full of shit and I will never go there again I have told all my friends and family not to deal with them either.

This is the worst place to buy any furniture!! I ordered some furniture, but not delivered yet. For some reasons, I have to move. I want to cancel, but they told me I can not!

Paid for a new sectional. Wasnt in stock. Waited 4till weeks still nothing. So i complained. Was called back a cpl hrs later and was told having it shipped from another store. They gave me the floor model and said it was new. So i called the store they said it was from. They didn't ship any and havent had any for a while. Thats fraud. And my landlords a lawyer

This company is the worst to do business with. I purchased almost$2000 in furniture, the salesperson who helped me was a manager(randy), he offered me a warranty for my couches which i purchased because he said it covered everything. Now that i want to replace 2 cushions, they told me randy did not work their and my warranty only covers cleaning. He sold me a lie!!! To top it off at first i was charged $498.00 overage at the time of purchase will being rung up by 4 different employees!!!?? Then my furniture came late i only received my dining set, and my swivel chair came in a different color, and i paid their contractor $60.00. then when my couches and original ordered swivel chair came they wanted us to pay another $60.00!!! So now i am waiting for them to call corporate on monday to see how much they are going to charge m for the cushions.. the employee did apologize, but that is not enough for what i went through. This is not a way to do business with paying customers, it is wrong and illegal to false advertise!!! i am going to wait till monday to see where i am going to go with this issue, i may need a lawyer!!!

today I contacted American Freight on over charge for matress, They were very rude, Sussan called me back twice yelling at me to calm down without giving me a chance to talk, thats ok I recorded our conversation for the press. Then when calling store for refund the manager told me I was a idiot for not being able to read, I got that on record also. Who is the idiot? I will have to go back to store today to get credit applied to my credit card but I will be running a article in all local papers on my experience doing business with a group of conn artists and rude employees.I will be having my Atty. review the advertisement Monday and see if anything can be done for the way I was treated by the Lexington store. I hope they get treated that way some day. Im taking my business to Value City Furnature. Much more respectable people.

worst place ever!!!! Ok so I ordered a sofa and love seat 3 months ago paid in full...they gave me an estimate of 3 Weeks...well finally 3 months later a get a call that my furniture is in...well they tell me there is a 65 dollar delivery(even though right beside my house)...i say whatever I just wasn't my furniture I'll pay for it...they bring it and guess what? Wrong furniture...after a couple days they bring me the right furniture 2 hours later than they said they would...well guess what love seat has no legs...I call corporate office and the lady is a total Bitch...well you know what with customer service like that you will not Be around long..I will never shop there again.. nd word of mouth goes a long way, and the words I have to say are not complimentary!!!

I really hate to give this store even 1 star, because they don't deserve that. We purchase over 2,000 dollars of furniture on 01/29/12 from this store, and it took them 2 months to deliver. They delivered our bedroom furniture, and living room furniture on 03/29/12. However we have not received our cherry claw & glass 3 pc. table set that was purchased with the furniture. On 03/09/12 we requested a refund for the table set wish cost 318.00 the store clerk by the name of Chris said it would take 2wks. We hav'nt received the refund yet, and when I call the store, they tell me that the refund hasn't come in yet, and today date is 04/23/12. This is the worst furniture store, and needs to be put out of business. I will never ever deal with this store again. 1217 Mckinley Ave, Mishawaka, IN is where this store is located. If you are buying furniture, run from this store they will rip you off. I will get my money, even if I have to retain a lawyer.

This place is horrible, after reading the reviews I see that it is not just me that thinks so. I was in a store in Clarksville,Tn the other day and the "Nazi" manager was walking around scolding children for having their knees on the couches saying; "thats a $1300 couch, please get off". He then proceeds to me who was leaning against a couch as my husband was looking at coffee tables and walks towards me as he motions with his hand for me to raise up saying "ma'am please get off that, I have four couches over there that the arms are broken from that". I have never been so insulted in my life! Needless to say we walked right out and I plan to complain as high up as I can go. I do not understand how these people are still in business.

They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. They do not stand behind their products. I pd for an expensive mattress and then they couldnt ever get it ordered. After two months of waiting they gave me a loaner mattress then 6 mos later my mattress came. Its defective and now to replace it I have to take it back to get a new one. They didnt bother to tell me this until I showed up to get my mattress. Never again will I buy from this company. you would think when they saw these bad reviews they would do something

I really dislike that i have to give this company a star, because they don't deserve it. I purchased a sofa/loveseat for $800 and it has started to shed some sort of strings within the 1st week. My wife and I went back to the Ft.Lauderdale location in attempts to exchange the set for a leathera set which actually costs more. When we arrived we were told there are no exchanges or refunds! We literally just bought the furniture two weeks ago. I will be take all measurea including court if needed to gety money back. Worst customer Service and business ever.

Really no stars! They suck at life. I paid my 1,200 dollars almost 3 weeks ago and still any empty house. They have given me every excuse in the book including it being tax season as to why i have yet to recieve my furniture. Then tried to rplace it with a color i did not want. How about not selling furniture that you caN GET IN an adequate amount of time? DUH... this the worse place to buy form ever. Im going back to rooms to go, at least i get the furniture... :-(

I can't believe I have to give American Freight even a one star rating because in my opinion I don't even think they deserve that! This is by far the worst service I've ever dealt with in my entire life. We payed for a sofa/loveseat set over a month ago and have been given the run around about when it will be delivered. Every time we call they give us a different answer but try and sweet talk us so we don't ask for a refund. Well we finally lost our patience and asked for one and instead of that they try and talk us into picking out different furniture. This place needs to be put out of business I am beyond tired of dealing with these idiots! I will do whatever it takes to get my money back and make sure that no one I know ever goes to this hell hole again!

American Freight in Grand Rapids MI. has some terrible business tactics! I will never ever go there again, nor will anyone I know. My story.....I go into the store, paid cash to purchase some furniture. I waited for my delivery...1week-nothing!...2weeks-nothing!!...3weeks-nothing!!!..I was not told that it would take that long. I called & they said it was on back-order. I told them that I wanted my money back. I was told that i'd get in store credit only & to look at my receipt. The receipt only said in sore credit for layaway only...I had paid cash&had not used their layaway..I called back..then I was told if it's not in by 30days they will refund. On day 30, we go into the store. First they say it would be there by Sat., I said 'no', then a salesman tried to get me to get something else, I said 'no'. Everyone at the front counter goes to the back room. One salesman comes out the door and a phone# was given for me to call corporate to get my refund approved. My mom dialed corporate right at the counter on her cell phone. Someone picks up, didn't ask who she was, what account they were approving, or any question to identify the account! A guy just said he'd approve it. My mom said it was probably one of the men in the back room that answered. My mom handed the cell phone to the guy behind the counter to make sure they wouldn't try to play any more games. The guy behind the counter told 'the man on the phone' "We couldn't save her" then he told us the refund will take 7-14days and will come to my home address.****UPDATE*** It is two weeks so I had my mom call the store because I was so angry....She inquired on the refund and they tried to resell the furniture and make a deal with a discount...avoiding the refund question...they then said the money comes to the store first, they call the customer when it arrives, but he couldn't say if the store received it. I didn't know what to believe because initially they said it would come to my house! I called in & now they said 20 days!!!!!! My blood is boiling & my mom's is too!! It was over $1200! I will report this company & their 'slick' business tactics if it's the last thing I do! It seems to me as if they are breaking the law....they should not get away with this. Do I have any legal grounds against them? :(

I purchased a Queen size pillow-top beautyrest mattress and box spring from American Freight,in So. Charleston, WV,in January 2012. Was sent the correct merchandise after many phone calls as to when it was going to be delivered, when it was delivered the person that delivered it had a pick up truck and the mattress was broke down. After several calls to a line that rings in on a fax machine, they sent me a mattress that was not a pillow-top more phone calls and more promises and finally they sent me a new mattress that was a Full Size not Queen Size like I paid for, I have called them and went to the store and they keep telling me that Beautyrest mattress does not come in Full Size I took measurements and gave them and told them that my Queen Size sheets are to big for the mattress and when I tried my Full Size sheets they just fit. Oh, by the way the last mattress they sent me there were no tags on it, which my understanding of the law is that is illegal. I called again today and called the coorporate office and of course you can not get to talk to Susan at 2:23 she had supposley just left for lunch. I left her a message for her to get back with today and if this problem is not taken care of by 3/22/12 I will contact the Attorney General's office and file a complaint with them. As of now I want my money back including the delivery fees of $65.00. I wished I had known about this web-site before I purchased anything from them. I will never buy another thing from them and will bad mouth them to everyone I talk with. My neighbors has seen them deliver so many mattress, that one of them asked me if I was opening a mattress store at my house. So now I am know as the mattress lady from Melody Lane. I am a handicapped 75 year old senior and I WILL NOT LET ANYONE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ME AGAIN. Some times I feel like I have a big sign on my back that blinks "SUCKER, SUCKER, SUCKER". This place has nice looking furniture but DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM THEY ARE A FLY BY NIGHT COMPANY.

We purchased $1,600.00 worth of furniture and paid cash. When delivered the table set was the floor model, used and was supposed to be new. We made several calls to the local OCALA, FLORIDA store, which ended up being a "joke." No professionalism. I then called the corporate office at 419-884-6178 and left a message for a Susan Beltram. She called me back about a week later. Listened to my complaint and said she needed tlo follow-up. She called me back within 15 minutes to say that my $75.00 refund for the differenc in new versus used would be refunded. She got my address and said the check would be mailed. 4 week later, no check and no response from the corporate office. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO HAVE THE NAME "AMERICAN" ANYWHERE ASSOICIATED WITH IT. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish someone would have told me about the poor quality of service. I had my furniture on lay-a-way for two weeks, then i paid for it in full. They didn't have all the pieces in so i have been waiting for about two and a half weeks. Yest, March 10, 2012, they delivered my bedroom set and only a swivel chair from my livingroom set. The worst thing about it is i talked to a salesman that morning and he told me the bedroom set was only going to be delivered. And they placed me on hold numerous times just so they wouldn't have to deal with me. I literally was placed on hold by three different salesman for an accumulation of over an hour's time. Then when i called to complain the salesman hung up on me! But these people have my money in their pockets. This is how they trear people who spend their hard earn money with them. They don't want to come and get the swivel chair even though it hasn'tbeen unwrapped and they have a week and a half to get the rest of my furniture in or they have to refund my money but i have to keep the swivel chair. DON'T BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!! Oh yeah, did i mention i paid for them to spray a guard over my livingroom furniture but they didn't guard the chair?

THIS PLACE SUCKS AND IT SEEMS THAT EVERY LOCATION DOES TOO. STAY AWAY AND SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE. WE'VE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS EVERYONE ELSE, BOUGHT A SOFA/LOVESEAT SET AND ONLY RECEIVED THE SOFA AND NO ONE KNOWS WHEN THE LOVESEAT WILL BE IN AND THEY WILL NOT LET US RETURN THE SOFA. SCREW THESE GUYS!!!!!!!

Well I wish I had found this site prior to buying my furniture from them. I was told they could hold my furniture for 2 weeks when I paid for it. A week later I was called and informed that they needed to deliver it on Tuesday because the delivery schedule was getting full. On Tuesday, the delivery guys showed up with 2 of the "right" side pieces to my sectional. Mind you, 1 of them had a rip. The driver informed me that because he is a "subcontractor" he could not take the incorrect piece back and that I needed to call American Freight. So I did and they informed me that the correct "left" side piece would be delivered on Wednesday. Wednesday evening I received a call from the driver saying that his truck had broken down and was being towed with my furniture on board. I then called American Freight on Thursday to verfiy that my furnture would be delivered that day. It was; however it was another "right" side piece. (This time the delivery driver demanded I sign a waiver releasing him from any damage fault.) Surprisingly this time the delivery guys didn't even unload it but they did at this point take the left piece that they had previously delivered in error. So after a long discussion with the driver on how upset I was getting, he advised me that he would be at my home on Friday at 2:30 p.m. with a "full" sectional since I had plans at 3 p.m. Friday, I called the store at 2:20 p.m. just to confirm that they were on the way. I was told that yes they were coming but he didn't know what time. So I went through my whole story of how I had plans at 3 p.m. I then advised the store clerk to call the drivers and check their location and call me back. At 4 p.m. I then called the store yet again and was told that they were advised I wanted the delivery after 2 p.m. and nothing else was noted. They then claimed that their driver had not called back and they were unsure of his location. So I told them that I would need to reschedule the delivery for Saturday. Saturday morning I called to verify delivery once again and at this time I found out that the delivery guys were only bringing the 1 left side. When I questioned it, the store manager in Sunbury basically told me that they have went out of their way to satisfy me by exchanging my furniture several times now. Mind you, what they were exchanging was the peice that ws incorrect and not what I paid for. So I proceeded to unwrap the peice that was sitting in my living room and wow, there are 2 stains on the pillows. I called and told the store manager and he said it needed to be handled through my warranty with Guardian. So I called Guardian on Monday and they advised that becuase the furniture was delivered this way, American Freight was responsible for replacing at no charge. I called the store again and this time was told that there was no way that I could have spoken to anyone at Guardian because they were not open yet. I tried to give the manager the name and number of who I spoke to and was told that he doesn't know anyone at Guardian. When I asked for the corporate number to American Freight, I was given an email to which I did send a message. I also called the # on this site and a lady called me back to tell me that after talking to the store manager in Sunbury as well as the delivery guys, my kids must have stained this furniture already. She then said she would send me an email to send pictures of the stains to, but that she doubted she could do anything about it. I still have not received that email. There is absolutely no customer service here. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM AMERICAN FREIGHT AGAIN! NEVER!
