I had to use a 1 which gives them more credit they i wanted to... not for sure how they are still in business. i called in march to cancel services after speaking with someone for over an hour to have it canceled (so i thought) only to find out in Sept that the account wasnt closed and they were still taking money out my acct.. i called them on it and of course they said i didnt make a call to have it caneled. so i ask for a supervisor (which you cant speak with) to pull the call for march, and get back with me. which i never heard back from anyone. all the way around its horrible!!!
Since merging with HP (huffpost) it is 100 times worse!. Abuses have escalated where you cannot even write the word "boo." I've been a member for over 20 years and have had numerous problems. The most recent is access to my mail and buddylist. I'm calling headquarters personally. No action? Will show up personally since it is just a hop-skip away from my house. A huge class action was filed against Time Warner and we won. This is the next step that must be taken against AOL and HP's abuses. If I am unhappy with the responses I receive I know exactly which law firm I am contacting in Manhattan.
I wrote a complaint about your terrible service. why was it not posted.how about getting more people to handle complaints in this country that are knowledgable & do not hang up on you.we pay you for a service, don't you think we deserve service????? I see you have numerous complaints from other clients. Where there is smoke there is always fire. time to put your house in order or you wont have a house much longer. sirbently@aol.com
Apparently I'm not the only one suddenly and inexplicably unable to access my account/screen names/email and gotten absolutely NO HELP from AOL customer support. Six phone calls escalating my case FIVE times, three supervisors, and two different departments have yet to result in so much as the repeatedly promised callback acknowledging the problem let alone resolving it. The final straw was having Billing tell me they can't fix the problem it requires Tech Support and Tech Support telling me they can't fix it that Billing has to... This coming from superviors neither of whom could grasp the viscious circle created or tell me who to call since neither of them could fix the problem.
This outfit cannot even write software. It recently installed an "image recognition check". The visual images presented are of debatable quality, but when one could read them and pass the test, the screen defaulted back to sign - on, and would not open the Web mailbox. Obviously a software fault on re- directiong. I have been corresponding patiently with the so called support people for some two months or more. They are morons, I get the impression there is not a person on the other end, just a machine sending back idiocies. I have written to the CEO, in New York City. Not even the courtesy of an acknowledgement. I assume he earns a fat salary for inactivity? Any one else feel it woudl be a good idea to buy some shares and hit these wozzucks were they understand - in their pockets?
i have been receiving dameon messages that my e-mail does not go thru. i have tested it by not sending e-mails & got the same message, these were 2years old. i called a few times to your tech. I was cut off after waiting about 10 to 15 minutes for a tech. its bad enough that i have to wait but along with your robots.you try it and see what i mean. one guy said somone unauthorized was using it. impossible, i live alone & as i said these e-mails were 2 years. never the less i should have been hung up on. i pay for service, i should get service not rudness. I would like to have this taken care of as soon as posible. sirbently@aol.com
Call the tech support twice this Am. First spoke to someone who barely could speak English. I was on hold for 10 mions, then the phone went dead. Maybe it is time to look for a new provider.
My account got hacked and they keep connecting me to India for tech support instead of the US. As the daughter of immigrants, I would say this of any country regardless. I don't think we should be supporting a company with great profits and low taxes that sends jobs overseas. It's really a shame. I hope that AOL decides to do the right thing.
I was a member of AOL since the beginning of their "existence". Then, it was pleasant to call for a support and get OUR PEOPLE in Florida, Illinois, Texas, etc. Today,"the agents" are foreign citizens working in foreign countries: Rumania, India, etc. Without getting any authrorization from us, the customers that AOL could share our confidential and sensitive information with foreign companies, AOL gave to foreign companies all members' info. Inasmuch as I cancelled my account the "Rumanian" employees of American company AOL continued to charge my account. When I tried to "straight it out" I got terrible treatment by "Rumanian employees" and when finally somehow I got a division at home, i.e. US, the Supevisor working at BNH Division refused to correct incorrect charges, refused to give me the phone # of Corporate Office, refused to help. AOL should stop calling themselves AMERICA ONLINE FOR THERE ARE ALMOST NO AMERICANS, OUR PEOPLE EMPLOYED BUT JOBS AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT ARE GIVEN TO FOREIGN WORKERS AND FOREIGN COMPANIES. HOW SAD, HOW VERY SAD. When I tried to call again AOL after talking with "BNH" my phone # was blocked by "BNH" so that I had to use another phone # only to reach again India and Rumania. How "lucky" we are to have our AMERICAN companies such as AOL making sure that foreigners in foreign countries have employees while our AMERICAN workers are jobless with no benefits, no pay checks but with tremendous qualification, knowledge and training - all ignored by the AOL Corporate Office.
5 Stars for your techies, but what AOL is taking liberties at is appalling! One thing that the Development Department did that they SHOULD HAVE INFORMED, CONSULTED ASKED, before doing was alphabetizing the Mail Folders!!!!!! For some this is no problem, but for others, it makes a BIG mess of things. Had AOL pre-warned us and given customers an option, that would have been one thing, but just doing it is another thing!!! AOL is going to put things back, meaning Mail Folders back the way they were or are going to give us instructions on how to repair your damage. Shame on you for doing this!!!
I have become so frustrated with AOL's service over the phone that I don't even have any words for this lousy company. I've been calling for 2 yrs. for the same problems and have to explain the same problem each time to a different person overseas. Apparently, they don't have anyone in USA to listen to their clients. After reading the complaints of other customers, I feel AOL's team is just TOO stubborn and they just don't care.
aol email service is headed by people who are less than ameteurs. called for simple help.........I could not make multiple printing on my computer.....and do not have a ....Print icon on my top bar.......A person from a 3rd world country took over my computer..while I was watching the pointer going through different formats......not one made sense........was told.....need to buy extra attachement.........was told I do not have......Microsft which I do.. that while the taking over my internet was in progress...........was disconnected. On my own a 78 year old woman...i figured it out on my own........clicked on ...add an item..........and there it is........the answer and the icon printer on my top bar..........Hello technicians you could not even boil water.......>>>Shame on AOL and whom they are hiring.........Get American Help........
Aol has deleted all of my emails three days ago. All my folders, saved mail, inbox, etc. Isn't this illegal? or at least an invasion of privacy??? I have used my mail every day religiously and now they have wiped out all my mail. Where did they go when they deleted them..why is it an impossible feat to reach aol?? Why can't they retrieve them and reinstate what they have deleted??????
Why did AOL purchase the Huffington Post? What were you thinking? How long will we have to be bombarded with left wing propaganda everytime we long on to AOL. Can you at least try to give your subscribers both sides of an issue?
What the hell is going on with aol e-mail. Every single afternoon it does not work. I am NOT going to put up with this shit much longer.
Several weeks ago I call aol and changed my screen name. AOL gave me a new screen name. Now everyone in my address book is receiving SPAm from my old email address - they even have my address book. I have called and tried to get aol to stop recognizing abellotte but they have done nothing about this. Can you please have them discontinue the use of this screen name. People are being affected all over the world sevral times a day with pharmacy spam. Thank you 410 969 8555
AOL Free Mail? When did this start? I just found out today when I called them about a log in problem that everyone is qualified. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ANYONE????
I join AOL in over a decade ago and was very happy with the tech. support and email service I received. Then when they move their tech support and other services to India and other parts world it was the worst mistake they made. The peope especially from Idian are the most rudest people I have talk to, the least little thing you say to them that they don't little they hang up on you. If you by accident slip and say a curse word they hang up on you. On both of these you have to start the process over again to get help in having your problem fix. The other problem is half the time they can fix the problem, they say they will send it to the sever people and they will fix it there on there end. But, it never gets fix. I personally am tired of the run around by aol. I just wish there was something else out there like, but better than AOL.
They really deserve less than a zero! I've been a customer for 13 years and all of a sudden have been overcharged three times since July of this year. I got a credit of $70.00 put back in my checking accounting in September and now this month they overcharged me $39.00 and this happened one day before my paycheck was deposited. I find out my account is overdrawn now! The response I get from Peter Milton (very American name from "Peggy" in India): "unfortunately mam, I am unable to issue you a check from my end; I certainly understand your problem, but there is nothing I can do". I requested his supervisor and was told he doesn't have one. Excuse me if I'm wrong, but he is NOT the CEO of AOL....so surely he does have a supervisor and would not let me attempt to speak with him/her. Great customeer service heh? I demanded that my overpayment to AOL, and my $34.00 fee to my bank me sent to me in the form of a check and they refuse to do that, said I have to have it credited back into the account it was taken from. Can't do that since checking account was closed yesterday. They confirmed my identity before taking my call/complaint, so they know I am who I say I am.....so, WTF??
