I just had the worst food I've ever experienced from steak n shake. My kids and i frequent there quite often and normally we have no problems but today the only thing good was the milkshakes. Our fries were so old they were chewy..our chicken fingers were cold and my sons mac n cheese was not made correctly even though its easy mac!! This location is in Indianapolis Indiana on the east side.

Recently Steak and Shake has opened in Pearland, Texas. My finance and I tried it for the third time this evening trying to give them a fair shot. I"m sorry!! I am DONE with Steak and Shake after tonight. I'm only going to give the details of tonight's experience and not the other two for tonight did top the other two by far. We arrived after 8PM and they were able to get a table right away. I had to asked for a server after 4 tables were waited on that were seated after us. We received food without our shakes. The french fries tasted old, cold and hard as if baked under a heat lamp all day. This was not the first experience on the fries. I had to ask for the water again with our meal. The shakes arrived 30 minutes later and after we finished our food. When we did receive our shakes they only made one and not two. When checking out the debit/credit was down and we had to pay cash. As we were exiting, I noted at the hostess desk a small bucket of dirty water on the floor with wet paper towels surrounding it which I tried to avoid. As I was walking by I slipped on the wet floor and almost fell grabbing the desk. The hostesses apologized but no one bothered to clean the water up off the floor for the next victim! I even stood outside and watched to see if they would and no one did!!! This store is a disaster!! All those employees in there and no one can get anything right! WOW!! If I had option, I would not give you any stars at all! I have NEVER complained on the internet for anything in my life until now!! This is my very first time. I'm going back to Carl Jr across the street for my Western burger!

Steak and Shake Willoughby, Ohio has the most despicable management team I have ever in my travels have seen. I saw one manager, his name is Mike, belittle and berate a server to tears while on the serving floor. There is no need for this behavior. If you have something to say, say it in private for gosh sake. I, along with everybody else, was embarrassed. Steak And Shake get a clue and vet your so called managers better.

I have purchased your brand of chili in the can for many years. It made the best home-made chili dogs my family ever ate. This time my wife bought your chili to make some more chili dogs. The can had a new label on it. This is the most terrible chili we EVER ate. You can cosider my family as LOST CUSTOMERS, WE will never buy your chili again. Mel and family

I went to my local Steak and Shake for dinner and found out that there is no longer mustard relish! I told them to cancel my order and I won't be coming back. That's like Frisch's without their tarter sauce or McDonald's without mac sauce. I grew up eating pickle relish on my burgers. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Wonderful place to eat, great staff...always polite and location always clean... I am trying to count calories, ets and need the following info,please. Nutritional Facts for: Chipolte burger steak and hamburger and the jalepano crunch steak burger and your regular fries and the grilled chicken salad. my 1st visit to steak n shake, an employee at drive thru window shoved 1/2 his body thru window yelling obscenities to a car just in front of me. The car in front stops, the person goes into restauraunt, meanwhile i pull up to window, manager comes to window says, sorry that was an associates boyfriend. This was not a good 1st experience, it scared us 1/2 to crazy, we were expecting a fight, a gun brawl, we did not know. BAD element. Then, I go to Steak and shake website, they have no place for customers to inquire, ie-contact us. Bad customer service at steak n shake, means I will not go back.

I just left your marion,il location and had the worst experience. I felt like the drive thru woman was trying to fight with me the entire time. I got to the speaker and she couldnt hear me at because of my car's exhaust, so i drove around to the window and she opened it and very rudely said oh it wad your car! I gave her my order and told her what i wanted on my burger and she tried to sas talk me. I may be a little younger than her, but i once worked fast food and was never rude to my customers! I always greeted them with a smile and helped them as much as i could. When she brought my order to me she gave it and left. Not a single word out of her mouth. She made me feel like i had done something terribly wrong. I am the nicest most caring person and i am just very upset with my recent experience at your resturant. I do not deserve to be treated that way and hope that this doesn't just get brushed off like it never happened. What ever happened to your customers being top priority? I work at a hospital and would be fired if i ever treated my patients this way!

I used to patronize the Oviedo, Florida Steak N Shake, but I no longer will. They fired a really terrific Server. You see, I am a writer. I work late into the night; and at times, I get hungry. I started driving to Steak N Shake, as it is very close to my house. I last went awhile back; and to my dismay, I found that this Steak N Shake terminated "my waitress." Apparently, she had some domestic issues whereupon she was arrested. One would think that a business she worked so hard for would have been there for her; not treated her that way. Especially as she hadn't yet been tried in a Court of Law, nor found guilty! If this is indeed the way Steak N Shake treats the help, I don't wish to be a party to it by continuing to patronize this business. I have informed family and friends of this as well! NONE of us will be back.

Went yesterday afternoon with my wife to the Mansfield Ohio location off I-71 & Rt. 13. Each got a steak and fries, and shake. Got the food in a timely manner, but there was a LOT of yelling and poor service from the help. There was a debate on who was going to take out the garbage, the rear door was left open and the service was terrrible. Actually it took 32 minutes for our milkshakes to arrive. We had already finished our meals. I mentioned to my wife we could have ordered a carryout, but we would have missed the entertainment. Most waitresses stop by once in a while to ask how everything is going. Ours did not. Saved me from giving a tip though.................... I saw the rest of the customers were sharing the same sentiment as we were. Please.... give us a reason to go back. We like the food.

Steak and Shake in Raleigh on 2840 East MILLBROOK Road 919 872 6669 is using a 30 year old Hamilton Beach Blender, pieces of the blenders Agitators were in my malt chipping and knocking out my fillings. Due to evidential negligence and evidential non maintenance and an Antique Mixer. NOT recommended for what Steak and Shake is using it for. I'm suffering. They use heavy ice creams and blend mixings. NOT RECOMMENDED for this Model 941 OWNER refuses to give me the model number and his Insurance Information. I made an appoint with an Orthodontist. And acquired model number 941 from Hamilton Beach directly. The model number should be listed on the back of the machine. From these photos, though, it appears to be a model number 941. The operational manual for this mixer recommends that the user inspect the agitators daily and replace them entirely every 90 days. All three of the agitators pictured show signs of heavy wear. Also, this style of agitator should not be used with hard ice cream or with any kind of ingredient mix-ins. I would recommend replacing these agitators entirely before using the machine again. I have been very disappointed in steak n shake over the past year or so as the quality of the ground meat has really declined. It is SO fatty and greasy it literally drips. Disquieting. I am aware they compete with other burger places, but they are not a regular fast food burger place. They are a burger dinner. Better than (or uses to be anyway) that junk. If I had to pay a dollar more to get a decent burger then I would have. Now their traditional mustard relish is no longer available. This was the last think that kept me going.there. I have been a loyal steak n shake customer for over 40 years. Unless they bring back the relish and degrease their once wonderful burgers I am sorry to say I will no longer be a customer.

though your food was served hot and presented well and in a timely manner it was the end of the experience which is the cause of my complaint. I attend church on Wednesday and Sunday. I enjoy the fellowship and those who serve the Lord in some capacity . after service we usually meet at SteaknShake for a late dinner. Splitting of the check took 40 minutes. that was just for our table. I feel certain that this can be fixed. One of our guest did not get what she ordered. I too feel certain this can be fixed. this happened at Rivergate . our group went else ware, My wife and I thought to try at Indian Lake Hendersonville. Again food Hot appearence good and in a timely manner. what ever we asked for we received in a timely manner. Again at the end, where checking out is done I stood for 10 minutes and waited for someone to take my money and allow me to return home. I had several employees look at me but did nothing. to others I was invisible. I feel this too can be fixed. You don't wait for success it will never show up. You must go out and take it. You may contact me if you wish but I may still be invisible, maybe we will see.

I'm tired of your Bloomington steak & shakes poor amount of fries, I should get what I pay for. & the workers smoke in the bathroom, which is breath taking and causes upset stomach. I have been there several times and have had poor service. The hamburgers are none to big anymore either, but the frie situation really makes me mad, when I can't get but 25-30 fries in an order, it's riducooulous!!! And they fill the cup cup up half way and when you ask for ketchup, they give you 4 pack for two people. And also, the butter pecan I've cream had old nuts, which made me sick after eating them, because I was hungry. These complaints have happened over several visits inside and through drive through. I eat there more than anywhere, but am close to stop because of te food decreasing, and there is more food on your pictures than on my plate. That's false advertisement and I really think we should get a heaping plate of fries when ordering a big plate of fries, or even a steak burger and fries. I'm very unhappy with your services. I went to the Goshen, Indiana Steak-n-Shake today to fill out an application for employment, (they had advertised in the local paper, "Hiring for all positions"), I walked in and was greeted by a server, she asked if it was a table for one and I proceeded to explain that I was there to fill out an application. Her demeanor changed towards me and I was told by this person that because I have visible tattoos I could not apply. I was shocked by this statement considering that I have had to cover my tattoos for employment before and know this can be done quite easily. I was basically looked at like an inferior person and made to feel as though a rose and butterfly were something ugly and depraved. When are companies like these going to finally come and join the 21st century and realize that individuals are exactly that and have the right to express themselves.

I went to the steak n shake in Festus MO at 10pm 6-26 I ordered 1 chocolate brownie shake! I received a watered down shake with maybe 4 pieces of brownies and the bottom half was shake base! This is not the first time this had happened. And there's no way to contact corporate about this!???

The Steak n Shake in Hendersonville, TN. Is managed by drug addicts, who are fully aware that they have a drug operation going on, primarily through their 3rd shift staff.

My little brother currently works at steak and shake. Today he bunt his hand on the grill and his manager didn't know how to treat burns nor did they have any first aid items in the first aid kit. I think better training is needed.

your manager in naples florida pineridge road is very rude.. treats the employes very poorly .not sure of her name.but shes an older blonde. would not want to work there if i had to be mistreated just saying .maybe she needs retrained herself

I have just reviewed these statements made by Employes of Steak N Shake, and I strongly agree with more than half of them! I have worked for Steak N Shake for 3 years now and I loved it until just recently. I was terminated for having a diabetic attack and the GM of the store knows that I am one. I was a very hard worker and a loyal customer to the store. I have many friends and family that come to the store to relax and eat but since we got new management all has gone to hell there! I did what i was told and was still able to keep two clean work stations and help other employees when needed. They took me off on station for awhile and then had me return to the station i was trained on only to yell at me and say i was doing it all wrong but when i worked that station before i was told by the GM of the store at the time that i was the only person she has ever worked with that could control the shake base right, but now coming to find out that 8 shake base tubs are missing when I haven't worked that station in months!!! Every employee that works there does not like the GM one bit and many of the old Employees that worked the for years are leaving and I got fired for having a diabetic and getting rowdy with the GM that was being ignorant with me. I literately have done everything asked by her and this is how she repays me! I will not recommend Steak N Shake to anyone anymore and I'm talking to the American diabetes Association about the she treated me!!! It's horrible how they treat there good employees.
