I would like to thank the guys, Henry, Joel & gang at the Midas shop in Wareham, Ma. on Cranberry Highway. They have always gone above & beyond to give us good service, time after time. They are the BEST !!! Sincerly, Maureen & Paula

On 09-23-11 I took my 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid in for breaks and an oil change. The manager Tommy called me and stated I needed a transmission flush and power steering flush. I said fine and told him that my ac was blowing out cold air. He stated the AC needed to be recharged. When I picked up my car that evening he stated that my car doesn’t have power steering and that his technician didn’t know when he recommended the service. I paid $398.92 for the services. I spoke with Tommy regarding my AC he said the AC Compressor was bad and that it was an over $1000 repair. I asked him if I could hold off on the repair or would it affect my engine and he said “oh no you can wait until you can afford it to have it repaired”. I said ok and left. The following day my car started to overheat on the freeway. My car is half electric so the gage kept going from cool to hot. Last thing on my mind was that it should be running hot after just being serviced the day before. Anyhow, I got home and didn’t drive my car the rest of the weekend. On Monday I called Tommy at Midas and told him my car is running hot he said bring it in that it may have a air bubble in the coolant. Later that day he called me and said that the AC Compressor belt broke and that he needed to replace it. I said fine and he said he needed to wait for the parts and they would take about 4 days to come in. A week later my car is supposedly repaired I paid $1170 and pick my car up. At that time I joked with Tommy and asked if anything else major was going to go wrong with my car, he said well I hope we fixed the problem. I left, the next say on my way to work my car starts running hot again. I called Tommy and he said bring it back. I dropped it off AGAIN at Midas and he called me later that day to say it’s the water pump and they need to replace it. 2 days after that he calls again saying it’s still running hot and it may be the radiator but that I needed to pay for that repair since they took care of the water pump. At this point I am highly upset, my car NEVER had an overheating issue until it was serviced at Midas and now they expect me to pick up the bill for their incompetent technicians? He said fine we will do the work on the house but after that I’m washing my hands with your car. 3 days later I call to see what’s going on, they tell me come pick up car bc Tommy spoke with his district manager and he says they don’t know what’s wrong with it and take it somewhere else, if its anything they did, they will stand behind their work. I called another Midas off Stevens Creek in San Jose, CA and the manager Eddy said bring your car here and we will figure out what is going on with it. I had my car towed there and in less than 24 hours they had diagnosed my car with a blown head gasket. Eddy said he called over to the Midas I originally had my car at and they technicians told him they hadn’t performed any basic test like a liquid blog test which would have told them this. Also, Tommy told Eddy that I came in with a broken AC Compressor belt, but NEVER once did he note that or tell me that. Had he did I would have had them repair that, if I would have known it would have had my engine to overheat. The district manager Brad Stone called me back and said he is not doing anything else to come to a fair resolution, he washed his hands with it and for me to take the car somewhere else. I then called the director on consumer relations Jim Crum, and we talked about what transpired, he assured me that Brad would call me on 10/17/11 with a resolution that we all will be happy with. No one has contacted me and my vehicle is still at Midas almost a month later from when I originally took it in for something as simple as breaks. I think I was taken advantage of and now being ignored as a customer it makes me extremely upset that certified techs didn’t know how to work on a hybrid and should have just said so. Now here I am single mother with no car and over $3000 in repairs, that my car didn’t need.

The Midas in Carpentersville ILL is horrible!! The manager there is rude. I heard him yelling at one of his employees and it was degrading! He was cursing and screaming and told the employee to "get the f*** out of his face! wow! I wont be going there ever again! If you dont respect your employess who work hard then what kind of respect does he give to his costumers? I dont recommend this place for anything!

I originally took my car in for breaks and an oil change, at the Capitol Ave, San Jose, CA location. The manager Tommy recommended some other services, so I authorized a transmission flush, power steering flush, breaks and oil change. I picked up my car and the next day it was running hot. I took it back the following Monday, he told me the AC Compressor and belt broke and it was an $1100 repair. I authorized the repair and they had my car for over a week. I picked up my car and the next day it started overheating again. I called Tommy and he said bring it back, I did. He called me the following day and told me the water pump needed to be repaired, they completed that repair, and he called me and said it was still running hot. He then told me it may be the radiator; they replaced it and have had my car going on 2 weeks. He called me and said it’s still running hot and they don’t know what the problem is and I needed to pick up my vehicle and take it somewhere else, per his regional manager. I called corporate office to complain and they had this regional manager call me to tell me that his shop was not going to attempt anymore repairs on my car. I find it ludicrous that this is supposed to be a repair shop with certified mechanics and they can make someone’s car worse and leave a customer hanging. I plan to see Midas in court after Honda does a full evaluation on what they did to my car.

I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. It was running fine until one day it wouldnt turn on. so I called AAA and had them tow the car to our local Midas. They told us the problem was the fuse and they replaced it for 95 dollars. The day they called and said the car was ready to be picked up, we came over and got it. we paid the 95 dollars and drove off. but there was a problem; as we were going home, our car died yet again. We called Midas and they sent a van to check it out. This didn't really do much for us so they asked us to call AAA again to tow the car all the way back to Midas. So we waited a few days and we got a call back. They said the problem was the PCM (or Computer Module) , which cost 1500 dollars. A few days passed, and we were curious of what was taking all the time, so we drove to Midas and saw that our car wasn't there. We go in and ask where it is, and they told me that it was at the local Chevy dealer. We didn't get a call stating that the car would be taken to the dealer. So more days pass, and we get another call. They said that the PCM wasn't the problem. The fuses in our car kept burning out. They then told us that the fuel pump was the problem, and that would cost us an additional 450 dollars. So they ended up fixing it. We then get the call a few days later and they tell us that the car was good. I had my doubts, so I told them to test drive it themselves. So a few hours pass and we get a call saying that we can pick the car up now. When I got there, I asked why they changed the PCM (which cost 1500 dollars) if there were no problems. I was told that the old PCM was getting messed up. I knew that there was not one problem with the old PCM, but they said otherwise. They then told me the fuel pump was the only reason our car was having so much trouble. So we had to pay for the PCM AND the fuel pump. But they also charges us 80 dollars for the towing of the vehicle to the Chevy dealer, which they didn't tell us about in the first place. So our bill ended up to be 2000 dollars, and the only thing we really needed was the 450 dollar fuel pump. So I am going to call Midas Corporate followed by the Attorney General's office. Their "Mistake" cost me 1600 dollars. I will never do business with Midas again.

HORRIBLE SERVICE - TIRE FELL OFF due to horrible tire rotation service Midas at 7892 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA 20109 gave my vehicle a tire rotation and failed to put one of the tires on correctly. The tire fell off while I was on the beltway in rush hour traffic. I almost had an accident, thank God I was able to make it to the shoulder of the beltway. The manager/owner, Joe, was very short and rude when I asked him why his office would think that ordering me a new tire, but an old rusted and dirty rim was acceptable. This location needs to be shut down.

I took my car to a midas shop on the north side of chicago and had a new pipe replaced with the convertor on it. My check engine light came on in about a year after having this pipe put on. The car a 2000 TOYOTA CAMRY with about75,000 miles on it was in the toyota dealership on the far south side of chicago because i gave the car to my brother who lives on the south side and the car was examined and my brother and i were told that midas put the wrong pipe on the car. The pipe toyota had and the pipe midas put on look the same but the problem is within the convertor on the pipe the insides of convertor are different. Toyota says this is what caused the check=engine light to come on. I went back to midas to explain to them the problem with the convertorand they said i should have brought car back to them to replace pipe because it is on a lifetime warranty. I tryed to explain to midas that replacing pipe again with the same pipe would not fix the problem. midas pipe cost me about $950.00 and toyotas pipe was $1,700. The pipe was put on at toyota and i had them give me the pipe they took off that midas installed. I have all paperwork from toyota and midas and please we work out something on getting some money back because i could sure use it. Please work with me because i have used midas in the past and would continue to use them. Thanks Dwight

I have been going to different Midas shops in different states for many years and still going. All started 40 years ago when I was coming down from a mountain with my kids and my muffler was clanging, etc. I stopped at a Midas shop, my first one and even tho I could have been taken advantage of because I wouldn't know, the guy told me that it only needed to be re-welded. He did this for me charging me only 5 dollars. The only Midas shop I had to complain about was in AZ. I go to one in Sacramento CA on Arden and find them fair and honest. I would recommend Midas and this particular shop to anyone.

I took my mother vin laws car to midas in college Park Georgia to have a catalytic converter installed, after installation the car would only go 20 miles per hour,i took it back he said it neede a sensor$199.oo he put it in it still would not go over 20 mph,he called my wife it neede another sensor$699.00 i told him no. He told me that he knew the car would not run,and he let me take it out on the road knowing it was dagerous my mother in law is 82 years old.we took it to Nissan and he says the catalytic converter is not working.i need to take it back to Midas but are afraid they will make it worse.

The Midas store in East Longmeadow is an absolute horror. I will never go back. The owner is a pig. He constantly tries to pick up every women that walks in. He makes racist remarks about blacks and gays. He over charges and tries to sell you things you don't need.

Midas in hamilton nj 08610 misdiagnosed my car 2 times and now they are trying to over charge me for a part that I bought already

I went to a Midas shop in the suburbs of Illinois to have my oil changed and tires rotated and had a great experience! Before arriving at the service location I called ahead to ensure there would be availability for me to have the work done on my car and just as promised, they were able to get to work as soon as I got there. The technicians and manager were all very nice and kept me updated on when the car would be ready as I waited in the lobby. It's unfortunate that no one else seems to have had the experience that I did, but remember that Midas is a franchisee business, so trying a different location will enable you to find another shop that is most likely owned by a different owner-operator. For commentators like "Somewhere in TX" if you do not have the money to fix the damages you claim Midas technicians to have caused, why in the world are you filing a law suit?? Judging by your message, it is apparent that your crap has sifted its way into your head, after having it so far up your butt, so simply remove it and stop your pitiful plugs for Firestone.

My boyfriend took my 2007 Mazda6 in for an oil change as I was working, the people there were so rude to him, while he was there he said he wanted an estimate on something for his Firebird, all the guy said was I hate Firebirds and refused to give him an estimate. Since it was free rotation with oil change he had that done as well. Normally I would not go to any one except for my favorite tire people but well free is free. My car drove so well before the tire rotation. I cannot say the same any more. I also went and checked my tires because it felt like one of the tires was about to fall off. Needless to say it really was about to fall off. I saw I was missing 2 lugnuts because they fell off and the rest of my lug nuts were so loose I am surprised I made it home alive. My boyfriend as soon as I got home had to take the tires off and put them back on again. So thinking it would be best I contacted corporate... Feel so sorry for anyone who has to talk to Karen (horrible nasty mean woman). The regional manager did get in touch with me and replaced my lugnuts and inspected my car. He said there is nothing wrong or damaged (thank goodness). But what got me is my alignments off, thanks to the idiot who screwed up the first time. He offered 50 dollars off any 100 dollar service, and suggested that my brakes be fixed there. Possibly because they didnt kill me the first time and wanted another chance to, in my opinion. I do not want to go there for the brake job and the least they could have done is offer an alignment. I will NEVER go to any Midas again and would recommend any one else against it.

My husband and I had a 7am appt at the evansville,In location. Upon arriving no one was at the location was present. Around 7:10 employees arrived. The mgr on duty told us that his technician was late and should be here shortly. At 7:45 the mgr took our car out back where apparently they change the oil. Around 8am another employee arrives and begins speaking with us. We told him we were frustrated with the service we had received. We then asked if he was the tech that was late. He told us he is not schedule until 8 and he doesnt know why anyone would schedue us at 7 and that we should feel grateful the mgr is working on our car because he is not even a tech at midas, but providing a courtesy!! He then proceeded to hold up a clip board of scheduled appts and yell ay my husband and I! So another employee told us flat out someone who isnt qualified to work on cars was working on ours and yelled at us !! This is the worst service i have ever experienced. Also while we were waiting another customer came in because his car was miss diagonsed and he had to pay for something that wasnt needed. And the items they did correct, but werent needed! Terrible company, terrible service!!!

I worked for Midas Alaska in October 2010 as the tire-tech. I have been a tire-tech for approx. 11 years and wanted to find a good shop to work at. I don't smoke, so that was a prerequisit for me. As time progressed, I realized that there was no such law enforced by the company. Even though they had written the company polices in a "Companys' Employee Handbook" stating Smoking was prohibited in the shop. Because it was in the Winter months, the manager allowed the smoking employees to smoke inside the side door, which was about 25' from my workplace. I notified the Manager of the shop that there was a problem with the smoking area, that I have asthma and he failed to take my medical disability (asthma)seriously. He said that I should have a cookie at the other end of the shop while they smoked. I have notified the States Human Rights Commision and they believed that my rights were indeed violated. When we presented a settlement offer, the owner countered with an insulting amount not even a months wages. We are appalled that we have little rights afforded us as the working class. I worked very hard and maintained the cleanliness of that shop. I feel that Midas of Alaska is a fraudulant employer and dishonest workplace to work. Especially for honest hard working people. I want all of ALASKA to know that MIDAS is a discriminant place to work.

Midas of Hamilton NJ damaged my rims beyond repair. The owner sam agreed to replace my rims but never did.He also tried to bribe me with cash and threatened me.When I refused to take the cash and walk away he said that it would be in my best interest to take the money or I would wake up one morning and find my whole car scratched up.Ive written numerouse letters to the BBB,but Sam the owner at Midas just didn't care what I did.
