I feel everyones pain. I have been ripped off by midas. Brake job cost me 500.00 and now my front end makes noises. Front end never made noises before until midas did the brake job. They are a total ripp off. I called the corp headquarters and the manager that owns the midas i went too wants ME to pay more money for repairs. I bet they did something to my car so i would come back..I will never go to midas again. For the money you pay the service and reapirs is no good at all. They swear up and down it is always your car because they think they are perfect mechanics. Now i have to pay someone to find out what Midas did to my front end to cause the noise..Unbelievable...and a total rip off...never go to midas...

I made an appointment with the Midas Shop on Route 35 in Middletown NJ on 4/3/12 to have my oil changed. In addition, I wanted to discuss brakes for the car. When I arrived the "manager" was on the phone and the TV was on loud with an offensive program. Since the "manager" continued to talk on the phone I turned the TV off so we could talk when he was done with his call. He became upset and said it "was not nice" to turn the TV off. I explained that I am a customer in his waiting area and did not like the TV program as it was offensive. He said other customers wanted the TV program. THERE WAS NO OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE AREA! I Thought that the "manager" was supposed to be running the business and not be watching TV. I walked out never to go to Midas again. PS: In the past they have poured oil all over my engine and have tried to sell me expensive un-needed service. I have really learned my lesson. I will now deal with a PROFESSIONAL shop even if it costs a little more, it is worth it.

I took my car in the Holland midas shop to fix my brakes and linees . They messed them up so badly I had to take them to the Hyundai dealer and it ended up costing $600 more dollars cause midas fly by night mechanic so they call them selfs. I tell no one ever go to a midas.I rate a below a zero. So tell all your friends, family never go to midas . Plus I found out two of midas employees wasn't state certified to do brakes. That's the midas in Holland Michigan..

I recently went to midas in mt. carmal ohio cincinnati for an oil change the manager said tire rotation came with it i said ok they had my car for 1 hr. and ten min. on the way home the car started smoking bad and i took it back the manager said it was head gasket and it was antifreeze not oil. About three weeks later i started to replace calipars and noticed my rear locking lug was missing so i stopped back in the assistant mgr. said he would have to talk to the mgr. I stopped back in two days later and the assistant mgr. said he told him and he just shrugged. he took my phone number and said he would give it to the mgr. and have him call me never got the call so stopped in two weeks later and the mgr. was there he implied that it was two months ago and how could i expect him to fix something from two months ago I told him i didnt discover it till i was replacing my calipar i then looked down and saw the front locking lug was also gone the mgr. said all he could do was replace with reg lugs i said i wanted my locking lugs and he said no way that is going to happen i said i would see you in court.

Made an appointment 2 weeks ahead of time to get my break pads replaced and and oil change and tire rotation. I show up at my appointed time only to be told their a man short and it will be 30 minutes before they can get it in . OK i say my husband and I will go for a walk for a cpl hours and all is well, will that be enough time i ask, Yes he answers. We give him our cell phone number and off we walk. We walk around for 2 hours before returning only to find out they had not even moved my car. No one said when it could get done no one said sorry for not calling all i got was a cold shoulder and a who gives a crap attitude.BED SERVICE Midas. This by the way is the Midas in Cincinnati Ohio on 5440 Glenway Ave in Westernhills.

I received a coupon in the mail from the midas in my area for $5.00 off an oil change. Having been to this shop before, I booked my appointment. All went well until I went to pay and gave them my coupon. I was told they didn't take coupons. Asking why he sent it to me? He said it was corporate office that sends them out and he has asked them not to because he doesn't honor them. After a few words he finally took the coupon. I know it was only $5.00, but why would he not honor a company coupon.

Suffice to say Midas is a pale shell of what they once were. I took in my 2006 Honda CRV to Midas for a brake job. Upon leaving my brake light came on a few blocks from Midas. I brought my vehicle back and upon road testing said everything was fine. On my way home the light came on again all the way home. Now at no point in all the years I have owned this vehicle did this light ever come on before. I immediately called Midas and they couldn't care less. They already had my money. Don't EVER take your vehicle to Midas. They are good at taking your money and leaving you high and dry!!!

I took my car in for an oil change at 2620 Windmill Parkway in Henderson , NV. Of course, the guy talked me into changing my brake fluid for $89. On the way home, a 20 mile drive, my car started smoking like the engine was on fire! They did something wrong and the oil is spraying all over the engine. To top things off, I got pulled over by the police because my car was smoking so much. I showed the office my receipt from Midas and he told me that I couldn't drive like that and if he caught me, he would tow my car. I was throwing up plumes of smoke - people were honking at me, yelling at me and I thought my car would blow up! When I called the shop, I was told that 1) they were closing in 10 minutes. 2) I could drive back 20 miles tomorrow and they would check it out. 3) that it was just a little oil on the engine and it would burn off. Despite the police's order, I drove home to see if it would burn off. My neighbors thought that my car was on fire. How humiliating - I will NEVER go to Midas again and recommend that you don't either! I thought I was doing something good for my car, and probably damaged it. The fact that the guy was in a hurry to leave and made no effort to clean up his mess made it even worse. I'm supposed to drive my car with a trail of smoke another 20 miles so he can fix his mess? Who pays for the gas or the ticket I will get from the police? If Midas cared, they would send someone to my house to make it right. Now I get to spend my entire Saturday trying to find a local shop that can do a better job than Midas. Shame on these people. Anyone know a good lawyer? Please give me a call at (702) 359=1004.

I have been a Midas customer for about 5 years, but I only go to Midas now when I absolutely have too. And here is why. Today my tire rod came completely off. I managed to drive vehicle to Midas on Central in Albuquerque. Upon arriving I was greeted politely by the manager. I communicated the symptoms and he said it was probably the shocks and had me sign an estimate before having the vehicle inspected. I told him that I didn't have a problem with replacing shocks if that was the problem. After the inspection he showed me how the tire rod came loose. This was the obvious problem with the vehicle. He then proceeded to try to sell me the shock replacement, a tune up, front end aliment, and a couple of other things totaling over $2,000. I agree that these other items should get done, but I only wanted to fix the immediate problem at hand as I indicated in the beginning. I agreed to replacing tie rods and front end aligment totaling $630. Total work took 2 hours to complete. This pattern and practice at Midas at selling customers services that should get done but not needed is part of the culture because it happens every single time. Also, when you refuse to get the extra services they sells managers always takes it personally. They expect the customer to agree to a huge bill for services that should be done but not absolutely needed without taking it personally. However, when the customer refuses the extra services they always take it personally. This time around the vehicle went into the garage with no warning lights on and when the vehicle came out of the garage the check engine light was on. The manager did not explain to his customer that the check engine light was on and didn't even address this issue during inspection. So much for the Midas touch. Over the past year I had $1,950 worth of services done to my vehicle and all this work that could have been done at Midas was done at the car dealership. Yes I go to the car dealership because their gargage rate is less than the garage rate Midas charges. Thus, Midas is charging professional prices and returning less than professional services. I must admit, however, that the repairs done to my vehicle are always done correctly. This business model must be working for your company because it goes on at many of your stores and I have observed this behavior over the past 5 years. However, in the past year your company has lost $2,000 from me and if I'm doing it at least 10 others are also. And if those 10 are doing it you know a huge amount of people are also doing it. This equates to be huge revenue loss for your company.

I have had a lot of work done on my car from Midas. Took my car in to Midas on Lafayette Rd in Indianapolis IN as I needed brakes and wanted to know what the noise was my car was making. Upon arrival Manager who is usually there was there this particular morning. He recognized myself and my son as we are both repeast customers. Although usually friendly manager got very sensative as I teased about bringing my car back yet again for about the 3rd or 4th time in the last 6 months. He proceeded to argur with me stating I was questioning his intergrity, he was very rude and got very loud with my son and myself in front of customers which was very unprofessional. What happened to the customer is always right? I went in with a light hearted sense of humor and askedhim several times to please put my name in so I can drop the car of and get to work. He proceeded to provoke an arguement that I was not about to feed into. When my son thought he was being disrespectful which he was he stated to him not to talk to me in a rude manner and we asked why he was being over sensative to the matter. I still bought me car in to be worked on and was going to pay to have it repaired. The point is there is a manager and a man trying to argue with a customer a women about a auto that needed to be repaired. In the end he stated he has the right not to service the car and asked us to leave which shocked me. I have taken my car several times for repairs as have both of my children. I took the car to Carx and it was repaired in about an hour. I will never take my vehicle to Midas and will encourage my family and friends to not use their service.

Exactly two wks ago today i took my car in for back brake service at midas in raleigh, n.c. it started out business as usual until it came time to remove the back lug nuts from my car, one of the employees informed me that he couln't find my key to remove the lugs i really thought that was strange because this same location had been the place where i had gotten my front brakes repaired which means they were the last to have the key, so i went to my car to attempt to find to key of course it was nowhere to be found, i informed the employees that they were the last ones to have the key, and the gentleman informed me at that point that he and the other two men were new hires everyone from when i had been there before had been LET GO!!! so of course this raised the question "Would someone here actually steal from me?" needless to say the key was never found so they used some ratchet tool they had in the shop and a key that they had to remove the lugs i was at that point somewhat upset so i asked how do i go about getting another key? i was told they would order me a set at no cost to me, well they ended up giving me one piece of crap that they got from the shop, the brakes were replaced and i felt somewhat alright other than paying almost $300.00 which i felt was a ridiculous amount of money for what they did, but ne way i got home and my father took one look at the job and he informed me that if i had a blow out at anytime i would not be able to use the tools that came with my car i have to use a four way that made me mad so i called they and let them know what my father said he guy goes "oh yea i never even thought about that yea your right" then he says you can bring it back in and we can put the right size lugs on it AT MY ExPENSE!!!! i let him kno that i wasnt paying anymore money for a job they messed up on, so he finally agreed to order the key from the mitsubishi dealership andhe would contact me the next day he never did, so i called them he told me he was just about to order it, i continued to get the run around and i still am but im not giving up until I GET WHAT I PAID FOR!!!'

HORRIBLE service and very unprofessional!! Never ever go there again. I took my car in to get a quote on brakes. When they called back and gave us a quote almost 3 times other places I said never mind and we would pick It up. I got in the car and drove maybe 1 block and heard this horrible noise. I pulled over and luckily it was before I was about to get on the freeway. My rear tire was about to fall off!!! They forgot to put on all 5 lug nuts!!!! How do you miss that? We called the shop and said they needed to get there asap because we were not going to drive it. A cop pulled up behind us to make sure everything was ok. He said they would’ve been very bad and could’ve caused a huge accident if I went any further. The guy from Midas finally showed up. His solution was to take off a lug nut from the other 3 tires to get it back to the shop. All they were going to do is put on new lug nuts. We said they need to fix other damage they caused. Do you think they even offered to do anything??? Nope, not even the very least a free oil change for their negligence, inconvenience and scary situation. Unfortunately for them when they called back the next day to tell me they only fixed what they broke and nothing more I had 200 people at my house from a funeral and made sure they ALL knew what happened! So instead of offering to fix my brakes for free about $400 I hope they lost out on thousands of dollars of future customers.

I made an appointment for 8am to have my check engine light diagnosed. Upon arriving the "owner"(a female) told me it was a good thing we were early so they can diagnose the problem. She told us by 9:30-10 we would hear from her. I told her not to do anything else to the car until we talked. At 10 we had to call her back, and her response was she was to busy to explain what was going on. Shocked by this response I drove back down there only to have her lecture me about a couple recalls that haven't been fixed on the car, and that they were the reason. I asked her what the recalls were for? She didn't know specifics. She then tells me that they went ahead and performed a smoke insp (after I told them not to). She said her tech marked where the leak was. I asked her what the name of the part was and she replied she did not know and had to call the tech. As I waited she told me that they could no longer perform the maintenance on this car. Shocked I asked why? She said they don't work on cars when there is a rush and it is her right as owner to deny service. I asked her why she didn't tell me this when I first brought the car in now 3hrs later. She told me that she doesn't need to put up with this "Shit". I turned to another customer waiting in the lobby and said can you believe this? I then said fine here's my card let me pay for the diagnostic and I'll leave. She replied that she wouldn't accept my card and only wanted cash. I said your out of your mind. Why? She replied she didn't trust my card and it is her right as owner to only accept cash. I couldn't believe this. Only wanting to leave and get this car fixed I walked to an ATM, pulled out cash, and returned. Now her husband and coowner was there. He begins by telling me he doesn't appreciate "me" disrespecting his wife and that he is the technician that worked on my car. I asked him what the name of the part is thats bad so I can go get one and do it myself. He told me. I then said now I have cash can I pay my bill now? I paid and left. This was horrible. I will never concider a Midas and will turn everyone away. This is the only one in our Antelope Valley(Palmdale CA), and I am very active with local car clubs in the valley. They deserve to be shut down. I wouldn't let them represent anything with my name on it.

Took my 2008 lexus 400h for tires, granted I wanted less expensive than goodyear that was original, but the tire sold to me were directional, I was told later, and they could not get the allignment right, keep pulling to right, I bought more expensive tires, michellin, they still could not get to go straight, when I picked it up there were while scatches on right bumper and tire well area, they said they did not do it and I could not prove they did. Location was 319 boynton beach blvd, boynton beach, fl

Wow, It very unfortuante as consumers we have to be subject to poor customer service. I too had a bad experience on 02/14/12, dropped my car off to have the power steering hose repaired, serpatine belt and an oil change for a grand total of 616.00. Needless to say I drove the car two blocks and the same problem I had when I dropped it off was the same problem I had when I picked it up. Total inconvience being that I am a working mother and college student who needs a vechicle to conduct my activities of daily living. Moreover, dropped my car off again only to be told its another issue other than what they fixed and tried to charge me additional money in which I refused to pay for their misdiagnosis, I am a woman who happens to know about cars therefore Midas will not get over on me. In addition, I am contacting The Better Business Bureau and the corporate office, the lack of customer service is ridiculous especially when you pay over 600.00 and yoru car is still in the same condition you left it in. I defintely will not be back and would never rec ommend friends or family to go to Midas ever.

Midas in Lansing, MI tried to charge my sister $500 for front disk brakes and rodors. I nearly fell off my chair. When she called the guy after talking to me and said she didn't want him to do it, the job that he couldn't start until tomorrow was magically half done already and somehow he was able to shave $200 off the price for her right away. Sounds kind of fishy to me. Completely pisses me off when mechanics try to take advantage of a young girl like that. I looked up the parts it is $200 in parts and a job that I can personally do it about 45 minutes. Completely ridiculous! Wonder how many other college students are getting screwed? And to the guy that said the parts are so much better than what you buy at AutoZone, I would like to know where he buys his parts to fix his cars, LOL. I bet he doesn't buy them from Midas. I priced the $200 for parts using the highest priced parts avaialble to do her brakes. This was completely ridiculous and also the fact that he was magically able to take money off? How does that happen? Completely dissapointed in this company as a whole and will NEVER recommend them to anyone.

I got my oil changed done through Midas at 3741 Washington Blvd Fremont CA, 94538 12/28/11. the tech forgot to put the washer back on the bolt so oil leaked for about a weeks time before I noticed. called, came back and they put the washer on for me BUT didn't top the oil while it was dripping while they put the washer on the bolt! Found out I was 2 quarts low and took it back, they topped it off but left my car with the greasiest hand prints all over my white Lexas GS300. I also, had my transmission flushed there a week later and today I took my buisness to SEARS and they told me my transmisssion needed to be flushed soon, this means Midas took my money and didn't even do the transmission flush. I will never take my business to any Midas again.

Terrible terrible management and service! I've taken my car to the Santee location on Mission Gorge in San Diego to have work done on my car two straight saturdays in a row and they were closed during regular business hours. Saturday is the only day I have to get work done on my car since I work monday through friday. Last saturday, I brought my car in. I arrived just as they were shutting the doors and the (bald) Manager was extremely rude and short with me. So, I brought my car in first thing on monday morning and the manager said he's to busy to help me today. I'm done! Done with Midas! PS Happens once shame on you, happens twice shame on me.

If you people know so much fix your own car wich you cant. we do not use autozone cheep parts so you pay more for quality. we only recommend schedule maint or parts we see faulty. go to tire kingdom and really get ripped off
