Ouch

I was given an estimate of $350 for 4+ hours to replace just the flex pipe on my Toyota sienna. I wasn't in the mood to compare other locations so I accepted. After only 2 hours ($140 per hour after part cost) the guy called saying he was done but that it needed another $200 to fix a flange. I was a little upset that wasn't mentioned at the estimate so I didn't have it done. The problem is that it is louder after paying $350 than before going to the shop. The mechanic must have damaged the flange while fixing the flex pipe. I will probably never go to that Midas on Gallows Rd. in Falls Church Va and for everyone that remarked about how much louder my is getting, all I can say is that it cost $350 to get it that way. Invoice #0037403 to prove I'm not just trying to sneer this place. This is first time I have ever posted a complaint on anyone.

Midas Bradenton, Fla

Midas: I want to say what wonderful service I received at the Midas facility located on Manatee Ave, Bradenton, Fla. The counter manager was great and just so nice. I took in my new 2013 Explorer for the first oil change and tire rotation so pleased with the results. I'm now ready to head back to Mich for the summer so thanks Midas folks!!

bait and switch tires

Well called a midas store here in Lakeland Fl asking for prices on a set of tires for my Chevy. Was told they had a cheap set for about $32.00 and was told I would have to give them a deposit and tires would be in next day after deposit was given.I asked them what next price tire was they said about $100.00 each. Went in today told them I wanted 4 of there $32.00 they said we don't have any of them in the computer. Asked them what is next price they said $64.00. 1 day its $100.00 3 days later its $64.00 YOU TALK ABOUT BAIT AND SWITCH WOW THEY ARE THE BEST.

my husband took our truck in to midas they said it was the fuel regulator come to find out the broke the spider flooded the engine chewed the teeth off the fly wheel told my husband twice that he could come down and get the truck because it was fixed mind u we live in Huntington when he got down there the truck didn't even start. When we brought it in it was running we had to drive it in.Then they had a nerve to tell us it isn't there fault that the truck wasn't running right also that they are no longer gonna do any more repairs to it our truck is still there incompetence as employees do not want to rate this place at all they suck and there employees all need background checks

19.99 oil change scam

Beware of inspection. That's how they make the money. The 19,99 plus tire rotation is lure you in tactic to find out all that is wrong or make those less informed think the care need a ton of stuff that will cost you a fortune. I need rear drums and brake shoes, kit and cylinders according to them @ about $700.00. I went down the street to well know reputable shop and it cost me $225--no cylinders were need, Why? they worked and did not leak. If you look at their reviews you will see that these people are crooks. Also they don't mind getting your seats and carpet full of oil, grease and anti-freeze. I feel so sorry for any woman who goes in there without a personal mechanic. IMHO, they should be investigated and exposed.

oil change

i never been more disappointed with the service and what i was told by the employer. i was told that my car holds six gallons of oil and was also charge for labor, with all of this i even had an $19.99 coupon. after this i would never go to midas again

state inspection riverhead ny

this company needs to be out of business i went for an inspection on a brand new 2010 truck they failed it telling me i need new brakes rotors and filters ......i told them i cant do that i will pay for the inspection only ...they wanted to charge me 500 dollar's for nothing i went to another place my truck pasted 100%

Unethical

I brought my car to Midas in West Caldwell, NJ for an oil change and was charged $99.40. No other work and this is with a sign for $19.99. I have had many oil changes and was never ever charged this amount of money. UNETHICAL

Took my 2005 Stratus in because of noise. They said it would cost over $600 because I needed to replace the lower control arm and sway bar. When I brought it home the same noise was there. I brought it right back in and at first they denyed they could hear anything. When they finally had to admit it, they put it on the lift and put some grease on it. Then they said they would do it again when I came in for the inspection. Six months later, I brought the car to another place and guess what. They Had Never replaced anything at Midas. Another $600 to finally get it fixed. I am contacting the main company on Monday. I would not recommend this place for a can of oil.

Incompetent mechanics/management

I brought my '04' GMC Envoy to Midas for an exhaust leak, and was given an estimate of $317 to replace the gasket, parts and labor, taxes included. I was informed that the manifold itself had a crack and needed to be replaced. I bought a new manifold and gasket for them to install for the same price, which I thought was fair. I got a call from the manager saying they twisted off almost every bolt taking off the manifold and it is going to cost me additional money because one of his incompetent mechanic's mistake. Now they want me to pay to have the cylinder head removed to extract the broken bolts, at a price of $900 plus dollars. I'm going to hire an attorney and contact the BBB of Minnesota and the Attorney General's office, as well as Midas corporate headquarters. I have several friends that are real mechanics that say they are liable for their mistakes and stand behind their written estimate. Midas has had my vehicle since New Years Eve and still insist this isn't their problem to fix... Pack your bags Midas of New Hope Minnesota, because you ARE going to court... signed, one unhappy customer

Midas in Anchorage cheats the military. I hope they are banned list soon by the base. What type of low life lying scum cheats military people just back from Afghanistan? Close this company down unAmerixan they do not support the troops.

My car was great all I needed was a oil change. Now just a day after my car makes these noises and then smoke comes out of no where. This place has the worse customer service in the world. I have never in my life been so disrespected in my life. I will be going in in the morning and I wont be leaving until my car is the way it was just two days ago before they touched it.

DONT use MIDAS go to Quality Tune Up instead....... MIDAS stipped out my wheel lock key and the manager wont replace the key in NAPA,CA Soscal Store. If the key doesnt work after two or three tries they should have stopped there, instead of stripping the key so it wont work on any tire. They said it would 100.00 to remove the lug nut on the wheel they were working on. Napa - pissed off customer

I thought I needed new rear brakes due to a slight noise from the back and the brake light coming on every so often so I went to Midas in Michigan City, IN for an estimate. I got an estimate all right, $743.80. Rear brakes were included by optional since they still had some life. The manager told me I needed a new master cylinder because the brake fluid was low. Also pointed out a wheel seal was leaking. The estimate showed they would charge me TWICE for rear brake shoes. Once for EACH WHEEL!!! Because of the high estimate I took it to a friend over 40 miles and heavy interstate traffic away. Final cost $123.89 to replace the rear wheel seals. You can come to your own conclusion.

I went to the midas on West florissant & halls ferry & they messed up something under the hood of my car. I took it in for the replacement brake pads & the gentleman told me that I would hear some noise but nothing major. He lied. I messed up something under my hood so that I could come back & give them money.

My Bad Experience with Midas in Lake Jackson My experience started with me buying new tires for my 1994 Nisan Sentra at Discount Tire in Lake Jackson. The gentleman I purchased the tires from gave me a coupon for $20.00 of an alignment at Midas. I informed him that I normally have my alignments done at Brazosport Tire, but they are not open on Saturday. Also the $20.00 off helped me to go to Midas. So I went against my better judgment and went to Midas. With the $20.00 coupon it was $69.00 plus tax. I thought If I can get this done for less than $75.00 and they don’t mess up something else, I get everything done that was needed for my vehicles on this Saturday. Brazosport Tire put the four tires on the car, and I took it next door to Midas. I told them that I only wanted an alignment, because I know how they operate. I went home and ~an hour later Tim called me to inform me that my air filter was very dirty, and that they had that filter in stock. I told him that I would take care of it, just finish the alignment. About 30 minutes later Midas called to tell me to pick up my car. My wife drove me to Midas, and my car was parked in the back. The first thing I noticed was that the clock in the dash was blank. I turned the key and no lights came on. I started the car and although it started fine, nothing in the dash worked, including the wipers, turn signals, lights, etc. The A.C. only worked on high. I immediately turned the car off and went inside to get someone. I showed them what the car was doing, which they had to have seen when they test drove the car after the alignment was done. The manager came out and opened the hood and wiggled a wire coming from the battery. (This told me they knew this problem existed before they called me to pick up my car). The wire that he was wiggling was directly above the air filter. I think when they pulled the cap off the air filter they pulled something loose. I told them I was going back home and that I would come back when my car was repaired. He insisted on telling me that the problem was there when I brought the car in because the battery was not tied down. I showed them that there was no way the battery could have moved enough to pull against that wire that much. After a little going back and forth they agreed to repair the problem. I went back home. They called me later and said the car was ready to pick up. I went up there and the car was not fixed. They had put a tie wrap on the wire to try to keep it from moving. I told them I was not satisfied with that and, spoke to another manager who said he would take care of it. I went back home, and later I was called to come pick up my car again. This time they had used some red tie wraps to tie down the battery. I started the car and the battery and brake light remained on. I immediately turned the vehicle off. I told them once again that the car was not repaired. They informed me that they could fix it, but I would have to pay for it. I just took the car home the way it was. I tried to drive it and now nothing on the dash is working, including the turn signals, and speedometer. I will take it to my mechanic.
