I recently Visited a Meijers Store on E.Broad St in Reynoldsburg Ohio On Saturday 5/26/2012 with my 3 year old son. when i got there i was not feeling so well, so i sat down, luckily i was by a phone that contacts the employees directly i asked if they could come help me because i was dizzy and nauseated....the employees were AMAZING at responding. they were there in 5 seconds and stayed with me n my son until the paramedics came, & really did an amazing job even after the paramedics arrived to assure that i was ok. I am very thankful for the 2 wonderful ladies who helped me. Also a amazing customer who was passing by had over heard what was going on an helped as well. I am so grateful at how caring these employees were and helpful passing customers were. I really wish i could remember the 2 ladies names. they deserve a major recognition without them it is hard telling what would have happened.....Also, that weekend that had some amazing deals and prices on alot of stuff......I have nothing but absolutely positive things to say about this store and their staff. they are trully there for their customers!:)

NO one likes to wait 30 minutes in line to get checked out, what a joke !! RUDE people there too,I asked a question and one lady said it wasn't her department, she couldn't have answered it,it was to do about woman's clothing...OMG. Krogers here I come !!!!!

Now that I have quit this awful place, I can safely voice my opinions about Meijer. It is THE worst place in the world to work for. I worked at store #70 in Woodhaven, MI for 3 years. For the most part management was okay, except for the service manager, Deb Kinsey. How this woman is a manager is beyond me. She does not know how to speak to customers or employees. I had more complaints about her from people and who do I complain to about her? Doesn't do any good. I was told they were aware of the problem and she was working on it. The pay is horrible. Lowered the max you can make from $12 to $10. HELLO!! Aldi's cashiers make 10.50 an hour, starting. DSW's employees start with $11+ an hour. Meijer makes billions and don't pay their employees enough to live on. And, forget about ever becoming full time. Never enough cashiers are scheduled to work. We got daily late calls. Never knew what time I would be getting off. Don't try to make any plans because you will never be able to keep them. I feel sorry for people with kids and babysitters. Too bad, if you leave, it's walking off the job. Never heard of such a stupid rule in my life!!! You get written up for every small thing. It makes for a very stressful workplace. And, the union is a joke. They work more for Meijer than the employee. All in all, it is not the friendly work environment that I was told it would be. Hated every day that I worked there and I will never, ever work for this company again. Employees are treated like dirt.

I recently had my bank account stolen in my hometown on the East Coast. My card number was used to fabricate a new fraudulent card in order for some low class scumbag to steal from me 2500 miles away. So When I tried to seek assistance from employees I was told to call the "loss prevention team." I did so and in order to file a police report I had to do it my hometown and not in the town (Southfield, MI) where the crime took place. I was told that with all out of state complaints that I had to report to my police department ...WHY I ask?...Oh well it's company policy but we can send you video surveillance tapes.....Hmm even I know that I would never recognize someone who had stolen my debit card number had a fake card made and then proceeded to charge over 3 K on my account close to midnight. Okay so I ask..." Doesn't that send up a red flag at close to midnight someone is buying 5 x 500 dollar Visa Gift Cards plus some other stuff? And then they come back in the wee hours of the next day to try to access my account again. "How the hell is a law enforcement officer supposed to identify someone 2500 miles away?, I asked. So I must state that I have never been to Michigan except for being born there 53 years ago and have never shopped at Mejier an never will. But I think that your policies are in poor business etiquette and maybe you better rethink your training of your cashiers and staff. I bet call me crazy that the scumbag who stole from me ...oh yes and you as well will continue to shop oh I am sorry I meant STEAL from your low class poorly run store. Do I sound angry..well I am.

They are going store to store firing people for things that our managers let us do. Our managers at 54th and Clyde Park dont pay attention to anything. They wont admit they allow their employees to do so. Beth Nichol for one, she is always saving items off the shelf in the back areas or in the cooler and going back for it later so the customers dont get a chance to get it. Sherri Stickney who is supposed to be in charge of the bakery AND deli never goes into the deli. These managers just dont care about anyone but themselves. Tracy Beckert who is a manager of the meat department is lazy and always attempting to hurt herself so she can go on medical leave. And she also lies to get other people in trouble and or fired. Jeff Wilhelm who is supposed to be the store director in charge of the night shift never helps the people that need it. Honestly im disgusted at how that place is run. I dont recommend anyone working there! I love the customers and my family but other than that meijer. Go screw yourself. I hope one day you go out of business and all your workers find out how you really are. Meijer deli employees watch your backs because department 10 which means security is watching all of you so they can get you fired for their next paycheck. Erik Turek is the security at 54th and clyde park along with a little blond chick. So if you want to know what he looks like in case anyone is ever following you. Check out his facebook.

I am contacting to let you know that I just had GREAT service at the Meijer on 16 Mile/Van Dyke in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The manager, Joe Leone(?), helped me. My family regularly shops at this location and usually encounters a clean, friendly, experience with no problems with food quality. On this occasion however, we ended up buying not only one, but two different cold items that tasted like they were turning bad and we had thrown our receipt away, which almost discouraged me from calling. (Also checked our own refrigerator out which was just fine.) Joe was apologetic, professional AND courteous and went over and above to remedy the situation. I SO appreciate the way I was treated! Thank you Joe - and Meijer!

I recently bought meijer brand hamburger buns. They where labled to go bad 10 days after I bought them. I opened them and they where already moldy. When I called to inform them that thier selling moldy products. They did'nt seems to care. I was told bring them in if thier moldy we will refund you. I don't care about the 1.50$. I was just trying to tell them their product is moldy. But they did'nt seem to care.

Today I wanted some ice cream that was on sale. I had to look for an employee to see if any was in back since none was in freezer. He said he did not work that department but would find someone. In a couple minutes this guy comes and finds out what I need and leaves to look than returns and says I need to go up front for a rain check. Cashier was busy with others so had to wait. Than finally she spoke to me and I had to wait for her to go to another machine and than she came back and called to see if there was any in stock. Had already told her I had spoke to the guy and he had check but I needed a rain check. I felt like I was being called a lair. Could not the stock person have gotten me the rain check instead of wasting my time and making me out to be a lair by the cashier who had a bad attitude. I have bad legs and feet and do not appreciate having to stand a long time or having a cashier that you can tell does not like her job and was totally rude to me. This cashier was a BLONDE, fairly small in size, wore glasses, was waiting self check-out line at the Belleville, Mi. store. This store needs a change of policy or new management. I have shopped there for many years but the past couple it is just it a place that could give you an uncler. The last words the cashier said was have a nice day...very very rudely. I did speak back saying when I get out of here I will. She added something but I was far enough away I did not hear it well.

Meijer is a horrible place to work. The store directors/ team leaders lie. They are lazy and over paid. I have worked at meijer for 9 years and they still will not make me full time. They will work me 40 hours for a long time but cut me down to 16 hours right at the end of the quarter. I hate meijer. I will never shop there.

first of all let me say how I have been a loyal Meijer customer at several Michigan locations but I have never before had such an awful experience at any of your Meijer locations but at 54th snd Clyde park, not only was the employee rude but the manager cussed at me?! I was not aware that your management was allowed to harass me while I shop for turning.down help. An employee by the name of Brittany yelled at me from an aisle away "can I help you?" So I simply shrugged her off, no fave contact or word of any kind but shortly afterwards a manager I believe by the name of Carrie came over to me while looking at toothpaste and told me " you can get out of my fucking store for telling my employee to shut up" well I dont appreciate being harassed while shopping, especially after all I did was shrug off help, I dont need to be bothered while getting toothpaste, nor should I be kicked out for not needing help, moreso when I ignored such a rude invasive question. Ive never had a single problem with Meijer in the past but I dont think I can shop at a store where the employees are allowed to cuss and harass the.customers, I would appreciate a response from customer relations because if this is how your employees are allowed to treat customers then I cant shop here and I will suggest to everyone I know that they not shop here, I work in management where I work and this kind of behavior would not be tolerated but I guess different companies have different ideas on how to wow the customer.

My daughter and I were at your store on shaver rd Portage MI. On 4-22-12 doing our shopping when were were checking out using your U scan I was in one and my daughter was in another, I had just payed for my order and getting ready to bag when another customer in my lane started scanning her stuff, the first to come down into my stuff was a book so I put the book and the shelve on back side of belt ( I could not put the divider up because I had to much stuff still in the way. The lady started using foul language, calling me all kinds of names. my daughter asked her to stop talking like that in front of the lady"s grandson. long story short this lady threaten to shot us!! The employee ( Jessica) came over and knew the lady and told her if she didn't behave she would have to leave, then started laughing and hugged the lady. When we got all our stuff into our car the police showed up, we told them they had just missed her. we told an officer that the employee knew the lady so he went in and talked to the employee, next thing we know we are being asked to get out of our car and we are being searched and our car is being searched. the employee told the officer that we started it and we threatened to shot some one. We asked where was store security when all this was going on and was told they don't have any that late! REALLY!!!!! and we were told we could not come back to that Meijer. WOW!!!!! you have got to be kidding!!!!!!!!!!

for the meijers on carpenter rd in Ypsilanti mi it is the worst store for helping disabled people with those electric scooters they should be a shamed oh themselves putting the scooters a very long way from the door you walk on very sore feet that are bleeding and partially amputated. I am going to the tv station in Detroit if they don't find a way to put them closer to the doors

Meijer in oswego IL 2700 US Highway 34,is the worst location. I will never shop there anymore,Food products are returned after they have set out frozen items that have thawed out are put back. The store manager treat employees so bad.I know of several employees that have worked for your store over 5 years and been fired being 2 min late or Snow storm and they could not make it to work. Why wait two months later to terminate a person so unfair your store need union representation.Well all of my friends will no longer shop at your stores you really need new management at this location.Meijer do not treat the employees equal, promotions should not be based on race. Please look into this.I spend $250.00 weekly at your store,it may not be alot for to consider but in time it will make a difference.

I have worked for Meijer store 108 for 20 yrs and it just keeps getting worse. They brag about how much their sales are up while they cut part time hours. The store director is so rude and cold I have guest asking how we can work for him. I am honest with them and tell them we are just a piece off dirt on the bottom of his shoe he can't get rid of. I believe he takes great pleasure in screwing the people that work for him. He ruined a lot of family Christmas by cutting their hour when we really need them that time of year, while he got a big bonus. Fred must be rolling in his grave watching this company taking the turn it is going in. I had the pleasure of meeting him and he was kind, friendly and treated us with respect. to bad they don't practice what they preace.

My husband and I went to Meijer at 6550 Harrison Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45247 on March 20, 2012 we picked out our purchases and preceded to go check out. When we tried however Telecheck who is hired by Meijer refused to accept our check. I was humiliated and went to our car. Only to be called on my cell by my husband who had went to the service desk to straighten out the matter. He was advised by the manager to call telecheck because he had no power to override it. Telecheck demanded to talk to me, before I could get to the service desk Telechek hangs up on him. So we left without our groceries and went home. We called Telecheck told me it there were fraudulent checks written in my name on an account at my bank that was closed in 2010. They said i would have to send a copy of a voided check, my ID and my husbands license (why his license is beyond me when the issue they seemed to want to address involved only me) They also want our names, address, phone number and a written statement as to why our information should be removed from their forgery files. When we pushed them about sending sensitive information to them they gave us a post office box address in Houston TX. This morning I called our bank, there was no account in my name closed in 2010 and they advised us not to send the information. We called the corporate office and were given a number 616 791 2428 and were told Brian would take care of us. We spoke to Brian he said he would start an investigation and get back with us. I looked up Telecheck Complaints online there are 1000's of the same kind of stories of people who had the money in the bank only to have Telecheck refuse their check. I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint with them. At the end of the day I called Brian back at Meijer. His solution was to follow the procedure that Telecheck wants me to of sending my personal information off with Our ID's and everything for God knows who to have access to it all. He apologized and offered me a gift certificate. Which I am not going back to Meijer because I was so humiliated. I asked Brian if he would want to send off his personal information... he hem-hawed around and I said no answer the question he said no he would not. I got angry... and loud. Because this Telecheck is hired by meijer to protect customers according to Brian, and it is a random thing when this happens and I just have to follow the procedure that is laid down by Telecheck. When they lied to me about there being another bank account. I asked to speak to his boss he tried to tell me that he didn't have a boss that all telecheck issues were solved by him. I said So in other words you are paid to set at a desk and apologize to people and do nothing but tell them to follow procedure. Again he offered me a gift card which made me angrier and I got louder I again asked to talk to his boss and he claimed she was not at her desk. So I asked to speak to her boss... again no one was there. So I said amazingly no one is working today at the corporate offices. I feel Meijer should clean up this mess because they hired telecheck to which even their employee Brian admitted he would not want to have to do their procedure, but expects me to do. What is really rich is their home page has a quote from Fred Meijers himself that says "Customers don't need us we need them" Well since the only "help" I was offered from Meijers was to follow the procedure of a company they hired a company that doesn't care how they do business and randomly refuses checks of viable paying customers I guess Fred Meijers Is correct... I don't need Meijers!!!

I shop at Meijer store #123 every weekend, Saturday or Sunday, and because I drink lots of their sodas (I often have one at the store when shopping) I have to use their restrooms. I can not begin to tell you the horror of the smell, and forgive me the (I am about to vomit here), the taste of feces I was forced to face when using the men's restroom last weekend! I had no choice but to stand there and suffer the wave after wave of it as I went to the restroom! I contacted management after right getting my shopping cart from my mom. She said my face looked like it had melted, based on the expression on my face! The manager I talked to was told that the restroom always stunk and he said that they tried to keep them clean. He said they would have someone go look into the situation immediately. The worst thing about shopping at that Meijer is the front restrooms and it has always been that way. Tony Vandongvn is the store directore at store #123, and I hold him personally responsible for having to smell and taste feces while using the restroom at his store after buying groceries at that store for so long! I spend my money at his store for years, and this is how I'm treated? I have to go throw up!

Yes this concerns store 127 Goshen Indiana. I work for marketing company who Miejers hires to work in the their store. I on this past Sunday tried to approach the store director to ask her a question. I spoke her name she was pretty far ahead of me, and she stopped and I attempted to get closer to her to ask my question when she said get away from me don't get close. I was floored at how rude she was but I asked my question anyway and got my answer as she walked away she answered and her back was facing me as she answered. I felt like I had the plague or something it was totally uncalled for. I am hard of hearing in one ear and when its noisey as it is in the store its very hard for me to hear unless I am fairly close to a person so this was a total surprise for me to be talked to like that. I also am a consumer of Meijers as well so I feel this was bad treatment of a consumer and an employee that works there and needs a job !

I have been shopping at the oregon, ohio store and the Rossford ohio stores since they opened. I can't believe the things I have heard and the things I have observed while shopping. It has always been my understanding, that if you are handicap, the stores are not NOT allowed to discriminate against you..and if you become ill and are under a dr.'s care and the Dr. say Light Duty...That means Light duty..take it easy dont lift 100 pounds...work light...well I was in the oregon store and observed an mentally challenged employee on the floor with a manager standing there yelling at him as if he werein bootcamp...making him scrub the bottom of the meat case with a small brush...that was horrible. Yes, these people want to work and they need to work but REALLY MEIJERS..Really! Isnt that a little low! The store director Bill Alati is worthless...He acts stupid when you approach him and he will pull out a note pad and write your comments down but never follows through. As for the Rossford store..Judy is the Store Director...Its sad to say that she is the store director..she should be the one that over sees the whole store operation. When something is going on with an employee and management, there should be a meeting immediately and none of the childish games that go on. You show up or work and have 3-4 different people supposedly in some form of mgmt. tell you to go home. for different reasons. I thought your health history was under a hippa guideline but why is it several employees all know the emp. business. just wrong, wrong and did I say WRONG! It is a good thing I am not working therein mgmt..I would have heads rolling and things would be so different.

I work at store 0139 in Muncie IN, and I have to say the store's managers are a joke. Cutting hours left and right, schedules are random as hell, shitty pay, and after being here for over a year no chances at moving up into the store or at the very least change departments. Told the same line of b/s every time I try mostly by Debra Boyd and Gwen Robertson regarding the positions being "filled" as soon as I show interest but have heard from several people that they have had me purposely rejected as they like to play favorites...my advice is not to work at this store or any Meijer store, as others have said it's a crappy dead end job that will give you nothing but a headache.

worst place I ever worked. store 222. the store director, Terri dresses inappropriately. Some of our managers yell at us in front of customers, even when we r on brk. the managers just get worse and worse. they r constantly cutting hours. They schedule poorly. one day they will have too many workers the next not enough. And some of the customers I get r more immature than a 3 year old. If u want a dead end crappy job meijer's is the place to go. they need more people at the deli on the weekends too. They never seem to schedule enough people for cashier midnight shift. they expect Gm workers to get all their work done even when they r on a lane all day, like the holidays, special sales etc...
