I have just read some negative reviews about some of your stores so I thought I should post my positive one.I am a widower & eat out much of the time.I have been patronizing the Pub at your Malvern store & have nothing but good to report about it.I have just enjoyed the Saturday prime rib entree not only because it was very good but also because the waitress I had was exceptional. Not only was she polite, courteous & efficient but a real hustler handling the large number of tables she served.I asked her name & she said it was on my copy of the credit card bill. Her name is Jania I.I consider her a real asset to your business.
Initially I was really excited about a Wegman's coming to our area in Pennsylvania but it didn't take me long to go back to my usual places for much of my food shopping. I figured the food bars would be a nice treat instead of cooking dinner but almost every dish offered at the food bars contains garlic. Every type of soup sold in the plastic tubs have garlic, even the tomato soup! Pre-prepared dishes from the deli contain garlic except for the feta cheese, tomatoes, and shells. I guess Wegman's corporation doesn't realize that many people cannot metabolize garlic (or onions) or they would offer at least ONE type of soup I could take home besides Campbells soup! The only things I buy now at Wegman's are produce, unusual pastas, cheeses, tea bags, juice, bread, beer, and desserts. My husband takes home sushi every time he goes but the inari I always order (rice in a soy wrap) is a few cents shy of $5, almost twice the price from my local grocery! It's also too bad that many competent employees must have left and more indifferent high school students have replaced them.
When you first opened your Malvern store, I went to check it out because everyone seemed to say nice things about Wegmans. When I went in there, I was impressed and it was very large and well stocked. I asked an associate where a certain product might be and she replied "I don't know, thats not my department." I had to ask someone else who said "right down that way, make a left" Okay, thats better then the "I don't know" answer, but he could have said what Aisle it was. Anyway, I said forget it and went to check out. The cashier I had was probably in her teens, and she flat out said "we sell beer here if you want to go and get some" I don't drink and found her comment really offensive so I left your store. I prefer to shop at the Giant right down the street in Frazer where their associates actually care about customers and are always willing to help.
I have been an avid customer of your six dollar meals in Cherry Hill and Mt. Laurel NJ since it's inception. Why have you decided to diminish the portion side of the grilled lemon chicken breast by cutting it vertically so we can't tell the dif erence. Why not increase the price instead of giving us half the size?
We just visited Wegmans (Corning, NY) for the first time. We were impressed! The employees were so polite and talk about Customer Service! Everything we purchsed has been great. We have to travel an hour to get to Corning, NY or Williamsport, PA, we wish you would build a Wegmans In Wellsboro, PA or Mansfield, PA which would be much closer for us.
I want to thank you for making this holiday season special for my three year old grandson. He has a dairy allergy and loves all the Christmas treats. Because the Wegman's semi sweet chocolate chips are dairy free he has been able to eat fudge, chocolates from molds, and cookies just like all the kids during the holiday season. We send healthy snacks to his nursery school using your dairy free alternatives. It is great to have him eating the same treats the other kids enjoy. We also appreciate the dairy free boexed mixes and dairy free yogurts, milk, and butter. The dairy free pizza is a Friday night treat as well. Thank you Wegman's. Susan Hamilton
I ave gone to your Johnson City store for groceries every Friday for years. I spend between $150.00 and $200.00 per WEEK. I have to say that your staff is rude and that your meat smells spoiled after having it my refrigerator for 2 days. I am also unhappy that the Wegmans turkey went from % something a pound to over 6.00 a pound now. BOO. That was one big reason why I shopped there. Anyway. The attitudes of your bigger employees like your chefs and managers and even your Hiring personnel are rude. I will start going to Price Chopper again like I used to. There really is not anything special about Wegmans anymore.
I just moved from the Rochester area to Lockport, NY. and I am going through withdrawl symptoms... can you please, please, put a Wegmans up near there. The closest is on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst, not a close ride. I miss shopping at your store.
I am a maunfacture of store displays for supermarkets for over 25 years. I was very disappointed in a recent trip that I made to your store in Warrenton, Virginia. The disappointed is with me. I have been in well over 100 supermarkets throughout the country and your merchandising ranks at the top or pretty dam close. I am not a vendor yet and I would like to work with your team,.You guys do it right. Thanks for the experience. It was a good shop day Richard Herman- President Leisure Craft PO Box 1700 Hendersonville,NC 28793 Telephone 828 693 8241
JUST SAW THE ALEX BALDWIN COMMERCIAL FOR YOUR FACILITYS. CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WOULD ASSOCIATE YOUR STORES WITH THIS PIECE OF HUMAN WASTE. MUST HAVE A SHORT MEMORY OF THE ABUSE HE HEAPED UPON HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTER. BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF DANNY !!!!
I have noticed that when I shop at your Alberta Drive store in Amherst, NY, there is nothing but the best quality in your meat and produce departments but not so at your Military Road Niagara Falls, NY location. I will shop every Friday after work. I would think that meat has a three to four day, If the meat is fresh, refrigerator shelf life. By Sunday the meat smells spoiled. I have shopped at Federal Meats a time or two and have never run into this problem. The meat remains fine for 3 to 4 days. I wouldn't think this is good for business. What bugs me the most is having to go back to your store to return the meat. I would hate to have to start buying my meat elsewhere. Hopefully this can be corrected soon. Thank you
My problem is that recently I have noticed that Wegman's is not stocking may items made by wegmans, I feel this is not in their best interest, as I do perfer some items from brand names over Wegman's brand, and have heard this from many others in the Buffalo New York area. Love your store, but maybe forced to shop where I have a choice.
I shop at the Wegman's in Fairfax, Virginia. On Sunday mornings, the dairy case for milk is always empty . The shelves are sometimes empty The produce aisle is a mess - clerks put carts with produce in the aisle and then they disappear. Is there a reason why the bananas are always green? The store opens at 6 AM. The employees should be there at 5. They shouldn't be stocking when people are trying to shop. I have asked several times to speak with a manager. Each time I am told "they aren't here today." Is there such a person?
Just stopping by to express my extreme disappointment with Wegmans Warrington. As a parent of a teenager employed there, I have to say that the "Who we are" motto does not appear to mean a great deal to certain Managers. When a High School student is consistently harassed to change his/her availability to suit the needs/wants of the Manager instead of trying to compromise with the student, so that the student can work at Wegmans and still maintain his/her responsibilities at school, that illustrates the lack of consideration for the ideals that Wegmans stands for. My teen-aged student felt that he had no recourse but to resign as there was a distinct lack of willingness to even entertain a compromise. I regret to say that I would never recommend any young person work at Wegmans.
After defending your prices at lunch the other day to a loyal Giant Food coworker, I left your Collegeville store tonight, planning to check out the local Giant. I bought 3 small fruit snacks for my grandaughter (3/$2) great deal, I thought. At the check-out, it scanned 2/$3 (the larger more expensive choice, lower on the shelf). It took a ridiculously long time for someone to go confirm what I said (which he did confirm), and you can imagine the line of people enraged behind us in line. The reason I'm taking the time to write this - the response from the teen-age looking 'manager' was that she would go "change the sign!" Giant foods - here I come! and I'll be too embarrassed at lunch to share the story and hear the "I told you so!"
We used to shop at the Wegman's near Potomic Mills and loved it! The seafood and meat selections were top notch, as were the cafe areas! My question is when are you planning on a location here in San Diego? Definitely no comparison here to the friendly staff, prices, selection, and ambience we experienced at that store!
My wife & I as usual stop by Wegmans Bridgewater NJ every morning to buy what ever we need for the day and two or three days a week we have a soup and have it in the upstair cafeteria. We know your soups and my wifes favorite soups are NE Clam & Mushroom which you don't have that often any more so we settle for Chichen noodle. Today we were surprised to find that you had mushroom,it did'nt look like your usual mushroom but any how we decided to try it and I want to tell you it was the most horrible soup I ever had. The sign said "Wegmans Ceam of Mushroom" It did'nt even look like anything creamy. I'm sorry it just did'nt cut it for Wegmans product. I mention it to a young chef with a tall white hat and he was very good about it and had my money refunded but it's not about money it's a soup that we look forward to every day. Only about four weeks ago I was praising your soups to the new CEO of a large up-scale Supermarket chain(your competitor) and now I feel Wegmans great as it is probably beginning to go middle of the road like any other supermarket. impressive and innovative
I would respectfully request to speak to someone at the corporate level who is open to a consumer's communication. I have been "handled", rather then communicated with relative to a somewhat complex and inflamed issue. I am a long time customer as well as a current cancer patient struggling to keep my affairs together. There is an arrogance in regards for the ability of a representative to be objective , concerned and open to my experiences. Decisions and the way they have been conveyed has been upsetting, degrading and slanderous. I simply feel I deserve the right, as with any legal proceeding, to not be judged or condemned prior to an opportunity to detail my experience, and at this point defend my honor and erroneous or slanderous remarks. I have attempted to speak with legal, asset management and loss prevention. I have stolen nothing, hurt no one nor been accused of such. I am being pegged as guilty of being difficult due to errors and misjudgements in the pharmacy area. Other slanderous allegations have been made in areas of your store I do not utilize. Each party I contaCT HAS THE SAME "CANNED" remark, almost verbatum. I feel as though deflecting, accusing and defaming me is easier than addressing a somewhat serious and concerning issue. Can someone please be open enough and fair enough to receive my concerns, disappointment and true anguish over this please. I am treated as a second class citizen and labeled as something I am not once I needed to press for a resolution. My family attorney has encouraged me to seek answers and resolution in this manner if possible. I am a current cancer patient, my cell is the best possible means to reach me. Sincerely, Bonnie Varecka
