Hello. I work for Hillside Children Center and I am putting a car show together with all proceeds going to rec equipment for the kids I work with. I attend several cruise nights Wegmans has and every week I go to the Wegmans in Webster NY on Ridge rd and bay rd. well anyway this is what occurred. I was passing out some fliers by letting them drop into cars which I had no idea that Wegmans does not allow. The I felt surrounded by your managers. Telling me I could not pass them out which was no big deal. Then one of your managers tell me not asking to retrieve the flier out of someone's car. I then stated I will not reach in some ones car then the manager tells me you just reached into the car. Then I tell him I did not put my hand in the car. Then I told him that going in some ones car is a no no and then he went over and reached in the guys car. Which is not something any one should do. I tried telling another manager a few minutes later who was one of the managers who came over when they confronted me that going in that car was not cool and if it would have been my car I would have had a prob. He then blew me off by saying thanks for coming. The hole sit made me feel like your managers were trying to intemidate me and that they don't care about the customers. I will be letting all my car buddies know how I was treated. Again i had mo idea that wegmans does not allow passing out fliers And being told I could not pass out fliers was not a problem or a big deal. The Intimidation of 5 guys walking up to me was uncalled for and being told to reach and then your manager reaching in the car was a huge prob also. Not good customer services actually this is very poor customer service and a way for Wegmans to make a bad name for them selfs in the car community. We ( car guys are close) and do not like being treated like this.
PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. Bring WEGMANS to Gloucester County. With ACME closing in Glassboro, ALDI, BOTTOM DOLLAR AND SAVE-A-LOT are low class, poor excuses for super markets. ShopRite is a slight step above. I travel to Cherry Hill weekly. Not that big a deal, but it would bring jobs and class and upscale food to our area. Our home values in Washington Twp. Are upwards of $300,000. WE CAN AFFORD WEGMANS prices and array of food choices. PLEASE! Thank You, NH
in your dewitt store the department folk could not be nicer,i.e. meat, deli, coffee the ass...istent manager on Sunday thought he was in nazi germany he made my husband who is a totally dissisabled vet come in the store and prove who he was because he signed the check when i checked out and remained in the car while i shopped..they have policies but they have no policy for respect and courtesy i am so pissed off to think a tubby powertriped control freak who by the looks of him could'nt cut it as a brownie should be taught respect and try words like sir or madam...not once did he say sorry to my husband store policies of course...great workers yes but people skills NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Originally from NY, I had the pleasure of shopping at Weggie stores which were stocked to the brim. Excellent service, smiling faces, etc.. this was back in 2008. Fast forward to 2012, Downingtown PA Wegmans.. OHHH so sad.. Floor employees could not give a fig.. shelves are CONSTANTLY WITHOUT PRODUCT! Near expires on meat, good luck finding Wegs whole wheat bread.. What in the world is going on with Wegs? The produce scales are filthy, the check out belts are NEVER cleaned.. Cross contamination? Anyone? Anyone? Numerous conversations w/Manager to no avail. What a waste. Danny Wegman, get off your wealthy butt and start visiting your stores in PA! They need help!
I had quite a shock this morning. Wegman's is one of the highest priced stores in our area, but I do know that they also have some good deals, if you've done your research. Plus they send out those coupon books, which nowdays just have the $2 off a $10 or more grocery purchase. Since I knew I was getting their best deal items anyway, plus had the coupon,I felt it could actually be worth the trip. I was sure wrong. I purchased 2 frozen items, a gallon of milk and banana's. What a surprise I got when the cashier told me that my coupon wasn't good on ANYTHING I purchased! She said that frozen items, produce and dairy are NOT groceries at Wegmans!! Seriously, only prepacked, non frozen junk is considered groceries at this extremely overpriced store. I will not be shopping there for anything at all anymore.

We DESPERATELY need a Wegman's in MANAHAWKIN NJ. One store available sells out of date products and limp produce. The other has aisles the size of bowling lanes with a parking lot that is so dangerous you need prayer to enter. This is an affluent area that can LOVE and SUPPORT a well run store like yours. It is growing and growing and would welcome quality. Come on DANNY.....think about it. I have been following you since early 70's in New York.
The Wegman's "Online" hiring website is crap. All it does is take the "personal" out of the equation. Gone are the days of going into a store, meeting the manager, asking for an application and and old fashioned handshake. In my opinion Wegman's is growing too fast for its britches. It is becoming an arrogant corporation. I remember the days when People were proud to work for Eastman Kodak. Where are they today? And there are no jobs there either. Just remember, there are more places other than Wegman's that sells food. Get Arrogant, and people WILL shop elsewhere.
I used to work at Wegman's in Williamsport, PA and it was great! The attention to customer service is amazing. I love all their product especially their food court and cafe. I think a Wegman's in the Mansfield, PA area would do great. It would be nice to have a store in the area that actually care about their customers.
I went for an interview at the Wegmans store in Collegeville and was told when I called back that they were no longer hiring high school students. The next day my friend who went for an interview after I did, she got a call from Wegmans and got a job at Wegmans. I made the huge mistake of telling the interviewer that I had diabetes. I interviewed again a year later and received an e-mail on a Sunday saying that I was hired and just had to fill out the pre-employment forms on-line. I couldn't access the information on line, so I called the store on Monday morning to find out what the problem was. I was told the hiring manager was out until Wednesday and nobody else could help me. I drove to the store to see the manager that Wednesday (pretty responsible if you ask me) and I spoke the the manager who told me, "Oh, that was a mistake, you're really not hired.". What a bunch of crap. My family won't shop there and I am sure to tell everyone how unfair they are in their hiring practices. There is no way to prove that it's because of my illness, but it's not uncommon for employers to run away from people that divulge they have an illness. They don't want to take on any potential responsibility (as they see it). I learned a hard lesson at a young age -- Don't tell any potential employer about my diabetes although it has shaped me into the hard working, responsible person I am today. Wegmans -- you lost out!!
Well Wegmans - Undercover Boss is again on T.V. You should be on it. Your managers and supervisors obviously do not go by any harrassment policy (or do you have one?!). They play favoritism and pit one employee against another, and HR does not do a thing, NADA!!!! What ever happened to hard working employees being recognized. Check out your VA stores for a change - like Northern VA (if you can figure out that store). Those managers and supervisors must have brought down their attitude from up North.
To the wegman owners corporate personal I was hopping and praying that you are looking to expand in NC. I lived in DaleCity. va. and went to wegman all the time. and we moved here and I'm so disheartened that there is no wegmans here. we live in the charlotte area and they don't have anything offered here like close to what your store gives. I have never been able to go to a store and get all that I need in one place. being a diabetic I found your produce was awesome!!! and your variety was great. and the workers in the store were always great. please. please consider opening a store here. We live in the Indian trail area and we have lots of others here needing a store like yours. no store comes close to yours and I often think that wegmans would do so well here. we need some class like your stores. the main thing I miss about va in wegmans. so please consider this. Ballentyne would be location and Indian trail. thank you . keep up your hard work.:)
I love Wegmans Stores, But I don't understand Why they are all different? Monroe Ave Pittsford Store offers so much more then Brockport. It maybe due to customers types? But why not try it then undue it. Also I see in the Brockport Store that it is not keeping up with the growth of people coming into the store. The Pharmacy area is to small for electric carts of the elder who cann't walk in, you Need a Drive up window so they can sign there paperwork and talk with the person. Also the grocery carts are brought into the area along with electric carts with people in line. Way to small of an area. You will also have to plan on buying more electric carts with the Baby Boomers retiring soon. More shopping will happen during the day, Parking will be effected also. I would also like to see plans for a Wegmans in Batavia NY. The Lowes just closed in Novmember and it would be nice for a small Wegmans there for cutomers? I agree with one comment made that there ae to many managers. Thanks
Agree with the poster below me. I to work in a VA store, and find the favoritism to be astonishing. I love my job, because of the great customers.. But, the management cliques don't sit well with me or most of the staff. It's all about who you know at Wegmans, and not about your ethic, character, and how well you do your job. This must be a trend in your VA stores. Managers who started in New York and are still with Wegmans 10-15 years later always day that the Fredericksburg store doesn't operate like the other Wegmans stores.
Wegmans should send one of their "higher ups" out as "Undercover Boss" not to check on their clerks but their managers. They seem to get away with constant harassment of their employees even down to the level of dictating who they should and should not fratenize with...Last time I looked they were not officers in the military! They pick on the workers who are hard workers and cow tow to those who suck up! Danny Wegman needs to get down to the No. VA stores; Open your eyes - your management needs overhauliing.
I thought Wegmans cared about their employees. But I guess I was wrong. I work at the cherry hill Wegmans and can't believe how we are being treated. Telling us as employees that we can not park in our own lot. It's for customers only. I thought I was a customer when I buy something there. Because of this liquor store we are told that we have to park a football field away from the store. This is unfair and unsafe. What if something happens to me, are you going to tell me that its not our fault? You have people that come in at 5:30am and leave 1230am that are scared to walk to their cars I think you should know how your employees are being treated. Also we are getting written up for this
This past week I noticed signs saying Made in USA at the Wegman's store at West Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY. Good for you and good for me. If I have a choice, I will take USA; I put back CHINA. I have celiac disease and I find a large variety of foods, especially bread and I love UDI's brand and have recommended it to others; they agree it is good.
My aunt, who lived in Syracuse, used to get your magazine and would send them to me when she'd collected a year (I live in Florida). I loved them and I loved shopping in your store when I visited her several times a year. After she died, I went into the store after clearing up her estate to ask if I could have the magazine mailed to me if I kept her card. I was told no. This made me sad, so I buy old issues off eBay. I'd eager pay an annual fee to get your magazine.
I shop in the store all the time and some things I find are a little high priced but not too bad. Items like the dog foods are priced a little high and laundry detergents. I also am still not happy with the way they have chosen to display their donuts. The open cases I find disgusting people are always coughing and sneezing or blowing their noses around them and it grosses me out .I will not buy donuts from their store anymore it was much better when the cases were enclosed. And now I have recently been trying to find out simply where the company gets their milk from and other dairy products due to the radition disaster in Japan and I can't find out any information. I find this very frustrating.
After visiting our son in Rochester ,N.Y. And going to the Pittsford Wegmans, I would be embarrassed to be the Peach Street Wegmans in Erie,Pa. Manager. Let's begin as you walk I'm the store, rotten produce, over ripe bananas, to the skimpy fish choices. Then the differences in glueten-free products. I must agree that the Wegman family should definitely visit their stores in Pa.. Even the store in Hunt Valley, Maryland follows the mold of the Pittsford store. And like the person from Doylestown, you ask at service desk to deaf ears. Please make Erie store like Pittsford
