I'm a fomer employee at the SEDC in Fort Mill,S.C.I also have had the same experiences within the DC as in the stores.Not just speaking for myself,but for other co-workers also.Form the managers,supervisors,HR and the list goes on.We the employees are treated worse than some animals.They'er very rude,(a few are) rascist, dishonest,disrespectful,show favoritism and unporfessional.So reading some of your reviews.I'm wondering if these are the qualifications of be more than a cashier or a production worker for Ross.I've been working for this company for about 8 years and nothing has changed.To me it has gotten worst.It's like the heck with how the little people are treated.Just do what you have to,so we can make more money. This is an issue the Corporate Office needs to handle,if not we'er going to lose a lot of customers.As for the DC,everyone needs a job in this economy.I'm sure they can keep hiring until they've went through Fort Mill and surrounding areas.Then it's too late because everyone I know that works for Ross talks about"how they're treated".Nobody wants to work in a place where they're treated like crap.Reputation does mean alot no matter how much money you make.I've never worked for a company like this in my life.
Another frustrating issue with the SEDC.Who decides on closings and delays?Are if who can or can't drive on snow or ice? A winter storm came through South Carolina on 1/11/11. We got 5-10 inches in some places and for us that's uncommon for us. A lot of the DC's employees comes from areas that are not close to main roads.So areas we come from the streets and roads are not the Department Of Transportaion's main concren.Therefore the roads are not safe.When calling to see if the DC is closed only to find they are on regular sehedule and it where still snowing. People from the south can't drive on dry roads but they wanted us to come to work on snow covered with ice.That goes to show you how you're job cares about you.We may receive an occurrence or not depending on how they feel.Alot of people may lose their jobs after this is over.Exspecialy the ones that work under the Temp Service. They're worst than the regular Ross employers.(The big shots.) They make rules as they go.This is something Corporate needs to look into.I feel a person should make thier on judgment when it comes to issues like this.And don't get punished for wanting to stay safe.As of 1/11/11 @ 5:33p.m. condition are worst.And 2nd and 3td shift has to go to work.The highway potrols are asking drivers to please stay off the roads.The roads are nothing but ice and is very dangerous.Now do you see why we do feel valued as an Ross employee.As for me,I feel that I'm just a badge number.And it shoudn't be that way.It's got to stop somewhere.

You are commenting on Ross's inability to hire english speaking people, I think you had better take another good look at your self, Senorita! You state,"i dont know how she did the interview (she problaby she did no)". Now what the hell kind of english is that? First of all, the word is PROBABLY and secondly - (SHE PROBLABY SHE DID NO)??? What the hell is that??? Then you go on to say,"im not saying she has to speak A PERFECT ENGLISH UNDERSTANDABLE" and then you say, "SO A DONT HAVE GUESS WHAT SHES SAYING" and "i dont waste time trying to translate what shes saying to me". Dang, Muchacha! you can't even translate what you're saying, how the heck are you expecting to translate what the "Non-English" speaking lady is sying. Is that some kind of Span-glish? Ross in Vista has by far the worst supervisors and employees!
I noticed a $14.99 amount in my receipt so I told the cashier that I did not have that amount. The cashier called the manager and made up a story that I have with someone but I am by myself. I said I'm in a hurry so just take it off my receipt. The manager said "then go home and come back tomorrow". The rude manager said that they cannot take that off without further investigation. I waited for 45 minutes and while waiting the security was guarding me. They watch the camera and found out that the cashier was checking for the price at the book, she accidentally scan a Mens Apparel for $14.99. The cashier was apologizing but the manager did not even come back to me to apologize. He went back to work and did not even look at me.
I'v been trying to get on at ross for about a yr and mangers told me that corporate do all the hireing,So i would love to work for your team but wen will thay ever call and what shold i do...
i have just been released from ross as the moment i wrote this.they are very nasty people to work for.they pay is very low.and no one deserves to be treated so low.and nasty.i would rather pick fruit then work for them.do not ever apply for this unproffessional retail company.
Ross #833 in Ackworth, GA is the worst place ever! Everyone there is rude and unprofessional and the store manager (Lee) is very fake and two-faced. He also must be gay because he preferrs male workers over women and makes it very obvious. There was this one woman who worked there who genuinely cared about her job and the company and went above and beyond her job there and he brought in a young man who didn't do much of anything to take her place. Doesn't make much sense and probable if you ask anyone who works there they will say he is sexist!! He should definitely be fired!
You need to make your customers aware on items in the store that are non refundable and non returnable before the Christmas shopping starts. I recently recieved a package of underware for a special occassion and they were the wrong size. I did not even open them and when i tried to exchange them that is when i was told they can not take underware back even if the package is unopened. This might make people not purchase underware. You should post that on your door and in the underware department so all customers know if they get it wrong the receiver of the gift is stuck with them. Very dissatisfied good customer.
I went into a Ross Store on Centerville Road, Garland, TX - Store: 0058. My main reason was to go pick up a book I had seen there titled: John: 90 Days With The Beloved Disciple by Beth Moore. Now because I am a Lead Pastor with God's Company Chapel, a non-profit organization with tax exempt right, I also asked to sign my organization up as tax exempt. A kind lady at the cashier's post directed me to the manager of the store. She came and asked to see my tax exempt document of which I showed her immediately. She walks away and comes back minutes later and claims that I had the wrong document. It's one thing to say you don't know about a process, I would have graciously walked away and probably gone to another store. But she claimed she knew about the tax exempt process and told me my document had to carry my name. I said I have used the same document to apply and gain Tax Exempt with Walmart, Sam's Club, Home Depot, Fry's Electronic and even DD's Discount. But she bluntly refused to agree with me. There in the store, I placed a call to the State Comptroller's office and immediately spoke to an officer of the State Comptroller's office who verified my identity and stated that no tax exempt certificate carries the name of the Pastor of the Organization. The State officer requested to speak to the manager but she declined to speak to the State Comptroller's officer. While I was rounding up with the State Comptroller, a security guard who had earlier on embarrased me stating his bias saying to me, "I thought you said you are the pastor of the church" of which I had to show my ordination/license card, the same security guard literally threw me out of the store. It was the most embarassing incidence that has happened to me. This happened at about 11 am on the 26th day of October 2010. I seek a reprimand and that a call be placed to me to verify this sore incidence. My number is 2144043946. I am offended and upset. I feel I must report this to the Better Business Bureau for denying my organization the right to apply as a tax exempt buyer. Thank you.
Verr poor return policy in this economy. I tried to return merchandise with a current reciept and was given a very hard time and told that the merchandise was used and I had to return it to the orginal store!
I returned some items with my reciept and price label to the Sugarland, TX location. This was the worst experience. there was one cashier working, the line was backed up when I arrived and the cashier continuously called for help.It was about 20 minutes later about four employees along with the manager on duty comes upfront to assist. While standing in line, the manager on duty (Leslie) was rude to customers and rolling her eyes. One of the customer was a edlerly lady who was inquiring about getting credit for senior citizen discount. After scanning my reciept, manager tells me, one of the items has been returned. She gave me the reciept and told me to call the number on it to inquire about refund. At that point, I was very frustrated and told her I was not leaving until the refund was granted. She left and went in the back for about 20 minutes and asked me to bring the reciept to her. I told her, no. after it all said and done. I did get my refund after waing 1 hour and 30 minutes. Also, I informed the other manager how horrible Leslie had treated customers.
On this visit I was the customer I was treated horrible by the manager. As I walked out of the store I opened my ross bag and an item was not there. I went into the store, The cashier took my bag emptied it to check my purchased items and placed the bag on the counter. She told me to leave the bag on the counter and wait on the side as the manager check the video. She rang another costumer, my phone rang I answered it. The other customer took my bag. Manager comes in tells me it was my fault my items got stolen, and that the camera showed that the cashier had placed the purse inside the bag. An item was missing from my bag and they told me that the cashier had put it in the bad therefore it had to be there. If she placed the purse in the bag with the other items where in the hell did it go to? I am more mad at them calling me a liar than Having my purchased items stolen. It's integrity. I am not a liar. I have never been humiliated in my entire life!
I had worked at a brand new ross in Levittown,PA for only 3 months. I must say it was the worst experience of my life. I remember them always scheduling people to 10:00pm and making them stay till 11:00pm. They would tell them if they left they would get fired! I was so angry one night when i was scheduled till 9:00pm and they just happen to get an unexpected truck that day, so they made everyone stay till 11:30. They again told me that if i left i would be fired. Could you believe this! Being fired for leaving at your scheduled time. I must also say all the employees and especially managers were very rude. They wanted you to bend over backwards for 7.25 and hour. They also favored certain people over others. I had worked for Old navy before this for almost 5 years and never had i ever been treated like that there. Never again would i ever work for ross or even consider it.
I was excited to get hired at Ross (Guam), I went in with nothing less than high hopes for a career but only to end up with disappointment. The treatment within the company is BS, favoritism is largely visible! The hours range from 20 to 32, if that wasn't bad enough we were only making 7.25 an hour for working midnight or early hour shifts. I was lucky to get more than three days a week there depending on who was doing the schedule and how often kissed ass that week. Nonetheless, there were that hand full of employees that received five full days a week and even overtime from the store manager Debbie simply because they are well acquainted outside of work. The managers would yell at us on moving faster with processing and even write us up if we weren't up to par with their expectations. I have seen individuals who quit days after hire because of the disrespectful treatment from the managers and visible favoritism. I saw individuals call out sick for days at a time with no consequence and then there were us the ones who would get written up for being tardy a few minutes. The only recollection I have of a good day is when the District Manager Don would come in town, all of the sudden there is no yelling in from Debbie, the is calm and environment quiet with nothing but smiles. After being there for almost a year and being passed up for evaluation i decided that working there wasn't doing it for me. I was tired of going to work at all hours for minimum pay and no appreciation. I looked at the employees that have been there for over two years yet still only making minimum wage and hardly any hours and said to my self "screw this!". Honestly Ross is like a Garment Factory that takes advantage of their employees, I personally would not ever go back to working there, ever!
The Elk Grove store is dirty, it doesnt matter what time of day you go in there, even if you go in when they just opened in the morning, its always dirty and smells bad. Items are always all on the floor, things that are on the shelves are not in a tidy manner, again doesnt matter what time of day you go in. You cannot find anyone to help you, and when you do its like you are putting them out...its so disgusting I wont even shop there anymore. Maybe someone should do a surprise inspection
They gave me a credit reund on a card. I purchased another item. I used the merchandise credit card and they never returned it! They claimed I had it. I had all the transactions numbers and cash register number and other proof that I did not have the card nor was it used nor did they return the card to me and I am totally ignored by them. They basically stole $60.00 from me.
My complaint is the Ross store in Lansdale, PA in which I like to visit frequently. My complaint is not with the customer service, but the PUBLIC BATHROOM. I would not let my DOG go to the bathroom in this store. My daughter had to use the facilities and came out and said there was feces and blood all over the ONE TOILET. Ross, why is someone not maintaining the cleaniness of the PUBLIC facilities every couple of hours. Knowingly, that majority of your cliental are women. I have begin to notice this store slowly going downhill.Also, the cleaniness of the dressing rooms are awful. Ross, when are you going to begin to put your profits back into your store locations? Your corporation continue to lose business to other local competitors, such as TARGET and Walmart. I recommend your customers to use bathroom facilities before going to this local Rosses Wake up, Ross. I usually dont complain to stores head quarter, however, this was the straw that broke the camels back.
I was recently looking for work and I went to go ask at one of your stores in Phoenix,AZ. I asked some of the employees how the work was there and she told me that it was not good. She has been working for 3 years and gets paid only 7.71 per hour, this is wrong! I also witnessed that she was cleaning the bathrooms. How is this possible doesn't this store have enough money to pay a janitor. I also saw that this store lets you take in under garments into the fitting room. This is discusting, and wrong. The fitting rooms were bad and smelled really bad, who knows what else. I have visited other Ross stores and none of them were like this one. I was so disappointed that I desiced not to apply there especially with the hours that were given to the employees. I ask a couple of them and they told me that it was a mess plus there were times they were not even allowed to get a break.
