I SAT DOWN HERE TO GET AN ADDRESS FOR HOME DEPOT. MY PLAN WAS TO COMPLAIN, BUT WHEN I SAW SO MANY OTHERS WITH UNRESOLVED PROBLEMS, I KNOW IT IS HOPELESS. WE PURCHASED OVER $1,OOO OF MATERIALS FOR A BOAT DOCK. THE LUMBER ROTTED COMPLETELY EVEN THOUGH WE TREATED IT REGULARLY. AN INSPECTOR FROM THE LUMBER COMPANY IN TAMPA INSPECTED IT AND AGREED IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT THEIR EXPENSE. HOME DEPOT DROVE US CRAZY FOR WEEKS WITH PROMISES THAT WERE USELESS. THEN THEY AGREED TO GIVE US A SMALL "GIFT CERTIFICATE" OF A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS. OF COURSE, THIS NEVER ARIVED IN THE MAIL AS PROMISED. THIS WAS DURING MARCH AND APRIL, 2011. AT LEAST WE HAVE FOUND THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE. HOW CAN A PLACE LIKE THIS STAY IN BUSINESS.
Ordered 3 double hung windows from Home Depot, they were 33 1/2" long. Told the person taking the order I was putting A/C units in the windows as I was replacing Sliders. The windows came in, and the opening is 11 1/2", I can't get an A/C Unit in that small an opening. They are refusing to refund my money. Now, the windows are a "special order" and according to paperwork in my hand, it states, refunds will be given with a 15% re-stocking fee, don't know how they can charge me that, the windows never left the store, but they are still refusing to refund any of my money. Called the Customer Service Center, was told the Store Manager was going to call me on Saturday ( this took place on Friday ), he didn't call, the person from Customer Service told me she would follow up on Monday with me, haven't heard from her either, called and left a message, no response. Over the past 3 years, I have spent at least $7,000 in that store. The person who had the authority to take care of this situation, pulled at attitude with me after I explained what was wrong. I got the old "well, what do you want me to do about it?" What the hell do you think I want you to do? When I told him I wanted to return them, he told me they don't take back special orders, I told him yes you do, and again was told no we don't and what did I want him to do, I told him to stick them up his a__ and left. Now here I am writing this friggin letter. I used to like Home Depot, now I think they SUCK....and some of their big time 30k/year men think they are god, get a real job bud, 30k isn't a whole lot to be pissing customers off over. I will take this as far as I can. I'm not usually like this, but little god has really irked me. I will be shopping at Lowes from now on.........
I'm sorry that times has been bad for the economy And I know you had to cut back but you must look at the big picture, sorry service will hurt you more that than the bad economy will.. I had more trouble with your service in the last two months than I had in 10 years doing businesses with y'all,I have sent my customer's to your stores not just 1 or 2 but maybe 8 or 10 thousands of dollars spent and in the last 2 months and just resent I place an order at the sandy plains store in Ga. I ask when the time that it would be deliver she told me she didn't know that it would be the next day and I could call around 7:30 am to find out ,so I did and they said that he would call me back and let me know.I end up calling them back at around 10:30 and he told me that the truck was on route to me, again around 1:10pm they said that it should there soon, its has not been deliver so at 2:20pm once again I got on My phone and call the store, I ask to speak to the manager (Steve)he was kind and told me he was sorry and he would find out and call me back and he did and told me it would be there at 3:00pm at 3:30 it show up now understand the job we was doing was in the attic of the house and I hire a framer to help me,the homeowner was not happy be cause it didn't get done and she paid 79 dollars to you and I got to pay the framer again to come back on Monday I lost $350.00 on this job because y'all service SUCKS SUCK SUCK.....this just one of the trouble I had with y'all and the reason we didn't finishes the Job because it was a over 120 degrees in the Attic.I know I won't be hearing from Y'all but writing this will let others know that this delivery cost me and the homeowner $459.00 total,, thanks Home Depot And I will seen my customers to Lowe's if I don't here from you...turkeytb55@yahoo.com
yeah... I got stood up on a special order...HD what a ship of fools as a contractor Lowes always took care of me as far as when big mistakes were made HD only give excuses and makes up dates as they go along until they get your shipment 5 weeks plus for a shower surround ???
The majority of complaints on this site are obviously written by illiterate and uneducated individuals. I'm reading them because I find them entertaining! If corporate is not responding to your emails, it is likely that the reason is because you are incapable of constructing a a grammatically correct message and getting your point across tactfully and intelligibly. Additionally, for those of you who are refusing to shop at The Home Depot because they "support homosexuality", you're ridiculous. I'd rather help people who are gay than ignorant and inhumane jerks like yourselves. The negative attitudes and responses about The Home Deopt most likely wouldn't be posted here if there weren't customers walking up other human beings wearing an orange apron with a poor and "entitled" attitude. Where do you work? Do you always perform 100% or does your boss tell you that you're perfect and you have no room for improvement? Get a life people or go shop at Lowe's. I'm sure The Home Depot associates would rather have Lowe's deal with your pathetic attitudes rather than experience it at The Home Depot.
I have purchased services and goods from Home Depot for over 25 years. I am very distrubed at the poor service and lack of response when a roofing job (cost of over $15,000.00) had problems and still has not been resolved for over 6 months. I would not do business with home depot services ever again !!
Never Knew Home Depot messed with there over a year employees. Denial of earned benifits At San Marcos ca. The store head is a gay female . BOY KOTT HOME DEPOTE USE LOWS DIXILINE PINE TREE ACE ALL OTHER VENDERS
Usually my dealings with home depot in their retail stores have been very good. Butttt when it came time to get home depot to take care of my bubbling roof they turned into major idiots Steve Hillabran has done nothing but belittle myself and the situation never calls back and tells you he is doing this and that to get the job to move a little faster I catch him in nothing but lies. How could someone high up in the company especilly dealing with the public ever get to his position.Im not a contractor but spend a lot of money with home depot renivating inside and out on my personal home as well as all of my rental units needless to say the money I spend could feed a small nation. P.S Its been 5 months and Im still waiting for the job to be done!!!!!!!
New Albany, Indiana.... I always recieve great service when I go there. As soon as I walk in I am greeted with a smile and very great help. They are all educated in home improvement and and kind of home repairs that I haev needed. They have been honest with me when it comes to the best products and the worst products. I just purchased an LG air conditioner for $99 and so far.. so good! I really have nothing to say bad about the home depot in my area. Great CS and great prices!
I would like to know when new employees are hired why the Head Cashiers are not doing their jobs by staying and making sure that they are trained right. They wonder off and no one knows where they are and if you call their phone they act like they are being bothered. If they want the job then do it right! They are no where to be found and the managers do nothing about it. WHY? Some of the scanners do not work and when they are told they act like it is a bother to them. If the scanners are not working properly then how are the cashiers to do their jobs? This needs to be addressed and fixed.
The Home Depot's sponsorship and participation in homosexual events is a corporate endorsement of a dangerous and unhealthy lifestyle. The fact that The Home Depot also encourages the attendance of children at these events is disturbing to me. Until The Home Depot agrees to remain neutral in the culture war, and stop supporting homosexual events, I will boycott their stores.
The Home Depot promotes the homosexual agenda For several years, The Home Depot has given its financial and corporate support to open displays of homosexual activism on main streets in America's towns. Rather than remain neutral in the culture war, The Home Depot has chosen to sponsor and participate in numerous gay pride parades and festivals. Most grievous is The Home Depot's deliberately exposing small children to lascivious displays of sexual conduct by homosexuals and cross-dressers, which are a common occurrence at these events. Should The Home Depot be helping advance the homosexual agenda? The goal of every homosexual organization supported by The Home Depot is to get homosexual marriage legalized. The information below provides just a glimpse of how broad The Home Depot's support for the homosexual movement is. Take Action! Call your local store manager. Let the manager know that you will not be shopping at The Home Depot until the company stops supporting the homosexual agenda. Extremely important! Regularly post this to your Facebook page and encourage others to join the boycott!

Today, I read with extreme pleasure the report regarding Home Depot Chairman Frank Blake's response to American Family Association's failed attempt to influence Home Depot's rightfully proud record in support of diversity and human rights. Home Depot's stance in support of equal rights for EVERYONE makes me proud to be a 20 year United States Navy veteran who defended those same rights. Please continue your strong stance and do not be dissuaded by religious bigots who confuse rights as something to be denied to those they disagree with while they selfishly would retain the same rights for themselves that so many have died for and sacrificed to protect. Home Depot will always be my first stop for all my home needs, and my first recommendation to everyone I know! God bless you!
I have worked at HD for awhile. During that time if an employee starts collage they do not work around the schedule that they are given to them so some of the employees have to try and change their classes. So what is wrong with this issue? If an employee puts in for a day or two off it is not given to them or is the paper that is put in given back to them. The employee has to wait to see if they are scheduled to see if the time off has been approved. Would they like to be treated like that? No wonder the employee turnover is big. Changes need to be made. If I owned a business or I was in a higher position and I found out this was a problem like this going on I would find out why this was happening and I would fix it.
Home Depot is the most poorly run business I've ever seen. My husband has worked for them over 3 years, the last 2 with no raise and being told he'll NEVER be promoted. (Mind you he's worked nearly 25 yrs in retail) and he's received complimentary letters from customers and has earned awards all the way up to a platinum watch for outstanding customer service. We own a house, he's a grown man and yet he only gets 17-25 hrs per week on the average. Trying paying a mortgage on that - thank goodness I work 40 hrs a week, but it's a struggle. Also they change his schedule and don't notify him. Recently he drove his 40 miles to work and was told he didn't come in for 4 more hours..so he drove home. Gets expensive the price gas is. Or they TELL (don't ask)him to go home anywhere from 1-4 hrs early. The managers are blazing idiots and nobody seems to care. New hires get more hrs than he does. Someone head honcho needs to investigate their stores and find out how poorly run they are. Unless you are a favorite with management, you can forget getting anywhere. UNDERCOVER BOSS is what they need to get on and have someone check the stores in Southern California in what we call the high desert. Anyone who wants a job with this company is totally out of their mind. With this said, I will now actually write a letter to the corporate office with these and additional complaints. Do yourself a favor, don't shop HD - spend your money elsewhere where they treat their associates fairly and as human beings. My rating for HD is ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO..but of course they don't give that option.
I am writing a follow up to my prevoius post. Although I still want to sing the praises of Brandon Marshall in the flooring department, Home Depot failed me yet again!! Brandon did all the "leg work" to get my vinyl floor install started and then turned it over to the "expiditer" and from there it, again, fell into incompetent hands. *sigh* I am a simple girl...not complicated at all, but these people make me want to SCREAM!!!! I picked a vinyl floor that is IN STOCK, on the FLOOR at Home Depot but they called me today to tell me "the floor is not in stock and is on back order". They say that even though there IS my choice of vinyl flooring in Columbia, SC they still need to order it directly from the manufacturer (for some stupid reason). What ever happened to COMMON SENSE Home Depot????? You would rather risk getting even MORE bad publicity by cutting corners and being slack? How hard would it be to just cut me a piece of the "in stock" vinyl for the sake of "customer satisfaction"??? Are you familiar with the concept of "customer satisfaction"????????? Whatever.... I am so glad I decided to get a "back-up" contractor. My gut told me that Home Depot was going to fail me again, and I was right!! I will NEVER get a home improvement store to do ANY type of install EVER again. Independent contractors may cost a little more money but is well worth the cost. I have wasted a MONTH on these BOZOS at Home Depot!!! After posting this comment, I am going directly to Facebook and Twitter and telling all my friends across the country about my experience. Home Depot, wise up before you go belly-up!!!!
Home Depot "updated" their system and allegedly lost my company's tax exemption paperwork TWICE!! I caught the error, contacted TONI R STENSON, who informed me that they are aware that there was a problem with the tax exemption system, and was redirected to the head of the finance department JACK NELSON. I spent hours scanning over a years worth of receipts and even made a spreadsheet for quick reference for Mr. Nelson. I even spoke to him on the phone. He emailed me back informing me that he received the paperwork and that someone was reviewing it. And that is the last I heard from either of them! I have all of the emails for proof. If you ask me, this is a mistake on their part...you're going to lose a customer who spends around $100,000/year versus refunding ONE fiscal years worth of Hawaii state tax on the receipts??
I too had a very bad experience with a Home Depot here in Columbia, South Carolina while trying to purchase a vinyl floor for my kitchen, but rather that "throwing-in-the-towel" completely on the Home Depot brand, I decided to drive a little further and try another Home Depot store. I do not wish to go into detail about my bad experience but rather talk about the WONDERFUL experience I had at the Sandhills Home Depot and more specifically to recognize the outstanding young Flooring Associate there named Brandon Marshall. He went above and beyond to, not only help me with my flooring fiasco, but to restore a good feeling/experience with the Home Depot as a whole. I hope that Brandon will be recognized by the company for his competence, courtesy, and his kindness to cutomers. He is an asset to the company and the ONLY reason that I will continue to be a Home Depot shopper.(Sandhills store) Thank you Brandon for all of your hard work and your "can-do" attitude!
