Awful company; will not allow you to talk to owner. They do not make replacement parts and will not bend. I have to throw my shampooer out because of one part.
That really captures the spirit of it. Thanks for pstoing.
Bought a bissel proheat 2x 1 month ago. Did not realize the tank lid did had a chip in it where it met the tank. Because the seal was not secure, the unit did not suck up all the water in my carpet. Just got off the phone with customer care. They would not replace the part. I have looked on line and it is about a $20.00 piece. I spent way more than that on this piece of junk. By the way, they are located in the Phillipines and did not understand much of the english I was speaking. In fact the "supervisor" told me the best he could do was to offer me 'free shipping' of the piece I needed to purchase myself! Great customer service, spend over $200 dollars on something, and have the company not live up to the guarantee over a $20 dollar piece. It's not the $20, it's the principal.
i bought my bissell proheat 4 years ago and have got soo much use out of it in that time. my carpets are off white and i have 4 kids... between ages of 2 and 11. so my carpets get abused and i still manage to get them really clean with the proheat machine. I have to say that one of the belts did bust and it costed me like $16 at the repair shop. A short time later the other belt also busted but this time i purchased the part straight through bissell. i purchased 2 belts and my total including shipping was like $7. I learned to ALWAYS keep one on hand and replacing one is not that big of a deal. i am a female and have zero problems replacing them. I clean my carpets about every 6 months. for me to pay for a pro to come in and leave them the way i do would probably be about $200 each time. I'de say it is Waaay worth having one. just make sure you preorder the belts so you dont have to stop in the middle of cleaning because it does happen... i am VERY satisfied with my bissell and once this one dies out on me i will purchase another just like it... :)
My Mother which is 78 yrs. old Purchased a Bissell Pro heat x2 !!! Broke first time we used it !!! Sent back to the company to be repaired And when it was returned It was doing the same thing ,Like it was NEVER REPAIRED !!! Tried calling the Company with NO RESULTS & NO Return Calls !!!! We are thinking about as class Action Law Suit against this company !!! I heard nothing Good from People about this Machine & Have read all the Complaints that were Posted !!! Consumers BEWARE DO NOT PURCHASE these PRODUCTS !!! Bissell Company Will not Make Good on their Products !!!!!
We own two Bissel vacuum's. The first outlived our first house and is sitll in use. The second is a smaller / portable that has a detachable hand vac (like a dustbuster). My wife loves them both. The negative posts appear to me to be spam's likley from Bissel's competitors.
I bought a bissell cause Im poor and I can't afford a good one, so after three months it dies, I send it back to them (what a pain) they send me a refurbished and after a month it dies, I didn't send it back I took it to the dump and wrote them and now they say since I didn't send back the second one they will not help me!!! I will never buy bissell again..
If there was a big fat ZERO I would have picked it. I have the bissell pet hair eraser and it doesn't work for crap have not had it a year yet. All the filters are clean and it still shows red i wonder if the filter is cloged if it would turn green.
If there was a '0' star... what is sad is that people probably are not reading these reviews until they have purchased & find out they may have to drive 25 miles to get a belt replaced - something they can do themselves - if the belt was available. Add that to taking your complaint to Bissell customer service only to have the rep. resend his original response to you when you point out that Bissell has a video on their website that shows how to replace a belt & you don't need to drive 25 miles to get the belt replaced by their 'trained techs'. ....And the 2nd sad thing is that these Bissell corp. members probably don't even read customer's complaints to begin with. People need a larger forum or website that specializes in faulty products & practices or poor customer service.
I purchased a Bissell Proheat 2X 9500 Series carpet cleaner 11 months ago. The 1st one would not spray after cleaning one carpet with it, took it to be repaired and had to wait for 3 1/2 weeks to get it back, as per customer services request, repairman said it could not be fixed and he sent it back to the company for a new one. New carpet cleaner comes in, we take it home and it only works for 10 minutes and then doesn't spray again. Contacted cutomer service demanding a refund and they tell me they can't do that and that I have to take it back to the repairman and do the same thing all over again. I told them I will not, the repairman stated that these carpet cleaners are a piece of shit and said that they can not be fixed. We send the 2nd carpet cleaner back and waited another month and they send us a new one. Just recieved the 3rd replacement and tried to use it in one corner of our dining room and it does not spray. Enough is enough, I WANT A REFUND......... I have spent over $600 on this scrubber and the solutions that go with it. I have never had problems like this with any carpet cleaner that I have purchased in the past. Bissell Company is ridiculous to deal with and their customer service is pathetic....... They will not reimburse me for one of their products that doesn't even work. I will "NEVER" again purchase anything of Bissell's. This company should be ashamed of themselves with these disgusting products and service they provide to the public. Why in the hell are they still in business? I solely believe that any customer who purchased one of Bissell's products and has had trouble with it and their customer service people with the run around should "ALL" file a Class Action Suit for reimbursement of fraudelent products...
I purchased a Bissell Proheat pet one year ago and after 4 months it wouldn't work, wouldn't put water down, was told to take it to take it to a repair place that was 50 miles away. It was repaired and brought it back, I used it twice and did the same thing. I talked to customer service again and told me to take it back to repair, which I did, got it back and it did the same thing. I called the main headquarters and they had me ship it back and sent me a new one. Now I have had the new one for 4 months and it keeps blowwing out the my plug and starting to smoke. Now they want me to return it again. Two machines in one year, what a piece of crap. I had a Hoover for 12 years never any problems. Time to get my money back and go back to Hoover. Poor customer service. Bad product.
The worst vacuum i have ever had. I absolutely agree with people above. Mine also had smoke and burned and they wanted me to pay half of what the vacuum cost me originally to fix it. Even though it has 3 year warranty.
Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum, 16N5 Series I purchased this 8-14-2011. Two weeks ago it started to sound very loud, and later there was a smell of burning plastic. It has a 5 year warranty. I called Customer Service (India)and went through the same series of questions 3 times. It was blamed because I bought it from Amazon, and I couldn't have possibly bought a replacement HEPA filter from someone other than their company (which happened to cost me $31+shipping). When I finally got a chance to speak with a supervisor, I went through the same series of questions again. Nope, the answers didn't change, and this is the 4th time I've been to this dance. After a request to speak with their U.S. reps, I was told they were closed for the day, please call back the following day between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. ET. I did. First time I was allowed to listen to a phone ringing, and ringing, and then told they must be busy, please call back in an hour. I did. No phone ringing, but I was told they were closed. Argument here, was told they were in a meeting and there was no one to answer the phone. Really? A large U.S. corporation is having a meeting and they can't afford to have a secretary to answer calls? I agree completely with the people above. Don't buy a Bissell. Their Warranty and their Customer Service SUCKS!
I have a Quick Steamer. Bought it on QVC. I passed the date of return when I used the machine for floors. Seems I needed a Bare Floor Tool Rotating Kit. I ordered it from Bissell. When the piece arrived, I had to call them to learn how to attach it. The manual is a little short on details. It was found to be the wrong part. The customer service person had me go online to see a picture of the part I needed. When the part arrived it was the same as the first one which didn't work. Now I call Bissell Customer Service to explain my dilemma. The representative said it was the correct part according to her. I explain to her the part I have does not look like the picture of the one I received. She checked her (How to talk to the customer) manual and said I received the correct part. DUH I have the part in hand and the picture on the Internet. They do not look alike. I ask for a supervisor. After many minutes I get wonder boy who tells me the same thing that the part I have is correct. He too looked on the Internet. Now I resort to being a child and say "I want one of those Bare Floor Tool, just like the one on the Internet." After repeating "One just like that!" about 5 times. He concedes and asks me if I want to talk to headquarters. You bet I do. He said he would submit a report to Headquarters. He said I should hear from them in 3 working days. Claims I should get the part in 7 to 10 days. I am not holding my breath to hear from them. It hasn't been resolved yet since I am waiting for the next 3 days. Not sure what I am going to do if I don't hear from them. You can bet that Bissell = Problems. Not the best advertisement for them.
My bissell pet eraser vaccum is only 15 months old. The roller brush bar started making a horrible noise and froze up. It actually melted the rollers around the bearings. Asked bissell to replace under THREE year warranty and they refused. Said I could order the part because its normal wear and tear. If that's true, then why claim a THREE YEAR warranty? Going to buy a dyson. Bissell should be renamed DISSell...since thats what they do to their customers
I wish I would have seen this site before I bought a Bissell. I had a pet eraser machine that didn't work correctly. They let me return it to them (after much argument) which at the time I thought was nice. Well the machine they returned to me was just as bad and also had a splice in the cord. I called back and insisted they take it back and I got the ok but we will inspect it and report back. Well... I got a call from Brandi from inspection and she basically told me that I ran over the cord and cut it myself. That made me angry and when I asked to speak to her supervisor she refused to transfer me. After asking 4 or 5 times to speak to someone else and her refusing she said I was yelling at her and she hung up on me. I immediately called back and insisted on talking to someone in corporate, was on hold for 15 - 20 min only to be hung up on again. Now I have no refund, no new sweeper or the old sweeper. I have nothing. WOW what great customer service. If you ever call and get Brandi tell her she is rude.
my Bissell shampooer work twice My Hoover lasted 10 years with heavy use bissell should not be a loud to sell their garbage. one star is to much. could not take back because I had it 6 month who shampoo every day, shame on you your company is stealing from hard working Americans
FIRE!!!!!!!!!I have a little green clean machine. I turned the machine on to clean some spots on the carpet, which is the functional purpose of this machine. I smelled a burning smell, a pungent mechanical burning odor. I turned the machine off , picked it up and the bottom was very hot and had scorched my white carpet by creating a black mark. The bottom of the unit was so hot and with combination of the odor , I felt like it was ready to "catch fire". I called Bissell the next day. They asked me numerous questions and I answered them all. After being on the phone with customer service for 45 minutes with them taking an extensive report of the incident, they asked me to send the machine back to them. They stated that a team of invesigators would examine the"little green machine" then consult with me and I would have to fill out paperwork and return it to them and they would then contact me about what action they choose to take if any after their examination. I was totally po'd. I notified them because I was concerned about defective machines that could catch fire if they might be unattended. I was monitoring this machine and only turned it on when I was present and using it. What if someone turned on the unit , got a phone call or was distracted and left the unit running unattended and their house caught on fire! I told the customer service people that I was not so worried about the black mark on my carpet as much as I was concerned about having an appliance that was dangerous to use and a possible fire hazard. The customer service rep understood but had to follow the guidelines set up by corporate. I paid $70.00 for this machine at Walmart. It probably costs Bissell 20.00 to manufacture(out the door price),considering it is probably manufactured and assembled in a third world country by 10 year old kids and Walmart has considerable retail mark up on the sale. I have been brand loyal to Bissell and previously owned vaccumms and 2 full sized steam machines. No more! It did not seem to be alarming or disturbing to customer service that this machine was near the flammable point. I guess I should have left the unit running, waited till it caught fire and called the authorities and local tv station. A huge recall would cost the company a whole lot more than simply offering to replace my defective machine after returning this defective one to them. Replacing this unit was NEVER MENTIONED! I then decided to call Walmart. They were wonderful! This machine is 3 or 4 years old. It is not Walmart's typical practice to accept returns after this period of time but the store manager was also very disappointed that Bissell was giving me the "run around". Walmart is replacing the machine. At least somebody really cares! Maybe Walmart is listening and will decide to exclude Bissell from occupying shelf space in their stores.
I was given a bissell pet vacuum for christmas and i used it 4 times before the bar meltd to the machine. I took it back to walmart and they refunded it as a "one time deal" as on the box it states you need to go through bissell, fine no issue. the second one i used 4 times and the belt broke, ok so i called bissell and they sent me a belt (which they wanted me to pay for but i didnt) i get the new belt, sure enough i get it on and what happens, the bar is seized and the new belt brakes again. i call bissell they tell me THEY DO NOT DO REFUNDS ( even though on their box it states DO NOT RETURN TO THE STORE)So after telling the first lady what a piece of shit machine they sell, i speak to a supervisor who tells me the same thing. I asked him if he would call walmart and ok they refund and he said no its between me and them. I told him I work in retail and know if I return the piece of shit back to walmart ( it's past the 30 days - go figure) bissell will give them a credit for it anyways. He said since im unhappy about my product thats something they don't do refunds for. He put me on a call back list from their corporate office to call me in 1 to 2 business days. I asked him if he was lying and he said no. I should have listend to my mother in law when she said dont buy bissell!!!!!!!
Wasted my money. Worked only 4 times. NEVER BUY BISSELL again.
