is that a bug??
I've been sporting the Cerritos BJs since they opened. I hang out they with friend, family, coworkers. This past Saturday December 1,2012, I went with a friend. Ordered a Cesar salad and a pizza to share and two drinks. Mid way thru my i look down yo take another bite and theres a bug kicking his legs enjoying the salad as well. Immediately disgusted i run to the bathroom. I was horrified. The manget apologized. I was comp a meal or anything. They took the $2 add on salad off thats it! You have truly lost a loyal customer!
I recently went to BJ's in west covina ca. With 15 friends and their kids where we had horrible service, first off we had 8 kids with us and they had ran out of kids menus. We were still waiting for our meals when most had already fineshed theirs. One person didn't get their dipping sauce for chicken tenders until she was already done. Really rude, really bad. I will no longer eat there neither will my friends. That's too bad.
Used to be a better place to eat, not anymore. Service has gone down and the prices up. Poor management and customer service.
I would like to suggest that your corporate execs take a look at glassdoor website and see the (anonymous - I am sure they would worry about being fired if they gave their names) postings regarda satisfaction/dissatisfaction with being an employee of numerous of your locations. One of the consistent complaints is about poor management practices, certainly with regard to treatment of employees and employees being assigned sufficient days in their work schedule to actually make a living. I have also seen elsewhere a real mixed review regards customer satisfaction/dissatisfaction. Often failure to treat employees in a respectful fashion equates to a good portion of customer dissatisfaction as it can definitely cause disfunction in the otherwise hoped-for smooth running of a business. Corporate execs take note - if these complaints are not discussed and corrected where appropriate at ALL your locations (including your newer ones) - you are likely to lose employees and customers.
Bjs 9/7/2012 To whom it may concern, I would like to share a recent experience at BJ’s at the Torrance Del Amo restaurant. When I got there I was told that the wait would be 15-20 minutes. I ended up waiting 35 minutes for a table. I mean come on now 35 minutes? That is a bit ridiculous don’t you think? 35 Minutes isn’t even close to the projected wait time that I was given. Each time I asked I was told that I had 4 parties in front of me. When I was finally called for a table I was told that I would have to wait longer because the table wasn’t ready yet. I was told that it was still being cleaned. Now why would anyone tell someone that a table is ready if it’s still needs to be cleaned? Yet this is what happened to me. Again a little ridiculous don’t you think? Later after we ordered, there was a manager who came by the table next to mine. He gave the couple sitting at the booth 2 movie tickets and 2 gift cards worth up to $500. After he was done giving the couple these things I asked him how I could also receive these things. He mentioned to me that he would give them out after we had finished our meal. When we finished our meal he was nowhere to be found. We were again lied to. To top it off, it was my birthday. I received a birthday email from signing up to your club. I went to this location because it was convenient and because I received an email to receive a free birthday pazookie. I really enjoy going to your restaurants. The atmosphere is great, the food is excellent, and I go there to have a great time. However the customer service at your restaurant this visit was below acceptable. I felt as if I wasn’t treated fairly. I was ignored when I first got there. Then I was lied to about the table being ready. Then I was lied to about the stuff I would receive once my meal was done. And again to top it off it was my birthday. Is this how you treat all of your birthday guests? I am extremely disappointed in bjs especially the Torrance restaurant. I care enough to write to you about my experience rather than giving up and saying that I will never come back. I had a rough night and to top it off it was on my birthday. It was hard to enjoy the evening. Thanks for your time Gary Sagara 310-487-6054
I went into the B.J's in Salinas, Ca for dinner with my family and some friends. We were seated and then waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. We were there about 45 minutes before our drink order was taken and another hour before we got our food. We were there almost three hours. The service was terrible. It was not the waiters fault, the restaurant was busy and they were understaffed. It took the Manager almost an hour to get to our table because He was so busy. Don't know if I will go back but the food was good,,, We shall see...
This rating is for your restaurant/bar location on Superstition Springs Blvd in Mesa, AZ. We have a new law that just went into effect here in AZ. It allows bars, beer & wine bars, beer & wine stores, liquor stores & microbreweries to fill growlwers. As it turns out, when we've asked about getting a growler at the Mesa site we are told only the Chandler location sells the beer in growlers. It's a long drive from our location next to Apache Junction over to south Chandler. In these time of high gas prices, the length of the drive makes it almost unthinkable for us. When I called the Chandler store, I was told that there are different types of liquor licenses & the Mesa store doesn't have the right type for this service. There's a special entrance door for folks who came to pick up their take out food. Wouldn't it be nice if we could also get a growler filled at the same time, when picking up take out? Help us out here. Apply for that special license for those of us that support your Mesa store. We won't take that long drive to Chandler when we want some beer for our party. There is a place in Apache Junction on the Trail that sells growlers. They have many fine craft beers from Belgium & other places that could take the place of a fine BJ's Nutty Brewnette or Blonde. Please do your best to support your business as we sure are making the very best attempt.
I recently visited your Temecula location. Although I was very unimpressed with the management, there was one bright spot to your establishment. It was our waitress. I believe her name is Aubree Kramer. If not for her we would have left. She made us feel as though we were very important. Not only did she take care of us but, we observed her going out of her way to make sure others in the restaruant were taken care of even if they weren't her customers. On our next visit we were informed she was taken off her normal shift because of some secret shopper's bad review. Well I find that very hard to believe and if that is the case I'll bet that person wouldn't have found any good in anyone. We will not return to this establishment again until she returns to her normal dinner hour shift, which I was told would 3 weeks. That is really bad on your managers part as we also know she has been with you for several years. If you are not careful you may lose the best employee in this paticular restaruant. Please relay this to the manager. Thank you for your time.
I would give 0 stars if it was an option. Wichita Ks. 20 min drive to restaurant. We went for Saturday lunch. 20 min wait was not so bad- no problem. We knew what we wanted so ordered our meal with our drinks. I ordered my salad dressing on the side- It came drenched in dressing- they took it back and brought me a new one the way I ask for it but waiter was not happy about it. Then we waited for our meal. People that had came in when we did were long gone and our food had not arrived. The man at the next table sent his steak back 3 times to get it cooked as he ordered it and finely just left. We waited 45 min and still no food. We also left- came home and had a hot dog. PS the hot dog was cooked just right.
My Fiance and I went to BJ's at The Crossings in Corona, CA. He had a salad that had salami, cheese balls, artichokes, oils, olives and other things. The waiter said it was a testing item. He absolutely loved it. I would love if you could send me the receipe. I think it would put the topping on the cake! suzivz@yahoo.com
Had fun but almost fell twice on the Slippery floors, which was pretty embarrassing. You shouldn't have to wear track shoes when you go to a restaurant.
To start off, many of you are complaining about company policies that have NEVER changed. So, to give a poor rating because a company didn't change their entire franchise to meet your extremely high standards is.....kinda petty. However, many of you touched on the exact problems BJ's presents. The kitchen managers are more concerned about the food's presentation than they are about getting it to your table. They think that the Calamari looking good takes away from the 20 minute wait. Also, they under staff their kitchens and over work the employees crazy enough to stay with them. Lastly, the BIGGEST problem BJ's has is their company ego. They look down on: Chili's, Cheddar's, Applebee's, etc. Even though those aforementioned companies don't make you wait an hour for your burger. BTW, I worked at BJ's if you can't tell.
Can you Even give zero stars? or a negative five i sure would if they had such a thing. I just came back from Dinner at Bj's located in Oxnard. I wen't to celebrate a graduation never in my life have i felt belittle by anyone especially a server. Everything was ok at start and then our server trades table with someone else and tell us, " I am going on a brake, this is so and so he will be helping you" , just so i turn around and they get another table with more people. It got me so mad i paid my meal at the end tip the third server $100, just to slap the other guy in the face. I WILL NEVER Be eating at this location again.
Worst service EVER or more like NO SERVICE ever in Folsom, CA location. A group of us went there for happy hour, sat there for a good 20-30 mins. No service. Went there a previous time. Stood there for 20 mins. NO SERVICE and left. No more chances for this place. Take my business and money elsewhere. YOU GUYS NEED TO REVAMP THE WAY YOU ARE HANDLING THINGS. BAD BAD BAD.
I would not give the restaurant in Tucson, AZ (located on Broadway) even one star! What poor service. We called ahead at 7:00 p.m in order to be sitted at 8:00 p.m. When we arrived, a little before 8:00 p.m., the smug hostess said there was not a table availabe and it would be 10 to 15 minutes more. She gave us a pager and we told her we would be sitted outside. We came in a couple of times to ask what was taking so long and were told in a little while we would be seated and our pager would buzz. Needless to say the smug hostess gave us a pager that did not work and did not go out to get us when a table was available. The hostess laughed! We waited forty minutes on top of the hour call ahead. Never again! The response I got from management was that they were sorry we did not "feel like a valued customer".I would not go back to eat at BJ's - a restaurant with less than average food, bad service and management that does give a sh**.
Anaheim Hills BJ's has by far the worst service out of any restaurant I have ever been too. I went into the Anaheim hills location on 2/29/2012 with a friend of mine and we sat and watched all the employees stand around a table in the back of the restaurant telling jokes to the manager as she sat on her laptop and laughed with all her co workers. We waited 15 minutes for our waters that we had to ask for, we waited 30 minutes for an emplyee to take our order after dropping off our menus, we waited 20 minutes after finishing our food till we had to ask for our check, then we waited another 30 minutes for them to pick up our check after dropping off our reciept. To be honest, I blame the manager who was standing across the street when we first arrived looking at a car accident that had happened at the intersection. My reciept number is 100077 if anyone from the corporate office would like to look up our order and the time we were there to verify (10:00pm - 11:30pm). I will never be back to your establishment. This is the second time I have received terrible service, but at least the first time the restaurant was slightly busy.
To Whom It Concerns, I was at the BJ's restaurant at Sand Creek in Brentwood for Veterans Day. After recieving our food, your manager, Gwen Hellier greeted me to thank me for my service during the Viet Nam war and said my meal was free. She was so gracious she brought tears to my eyes as no has ever said a word of gratitude since my military departure, but to be cursed and spat upon. You have a gem in Gwen, and I thank you and your business for recognizing all veterans Sincerely. Gilbert M. Suniga
I wanted to arrange for a birthday party with 12 people and called 3 weeks in advacne and offered to put down a 200.00 deposit. I was told that they would only accept a reservation at 5:30 since Thursday was "such" a busy night. Of course with everyone working until 5:00 and having to drive etc, there was no way that would work. I was told "Sorry" and hung up on. Very poor customer service from valuable "customers" and we won't be going there again, although it had always been one of my favorites.
I went to BJ's in Laguna Hills, Ca. I have been vegetarian for almost 13 years. I ordered a pizza with olives and white onions. They brought me olives with tiny bits of bacon that were hard to see. I ate most of it without realizing. I got a headache from the food. And, when I found out what was in it and complained, the manager only replaced my food and wiped it from the bill. I said, "that's not enough...how about a gift card?" So he gives me a $10 gift card. That was a slap in the face to me...that won't even pay for another meal. Dave & Busters messed up not even close to as bad, and gave us like $200 back in food and game cards. BJ's is horrible.
Although there is a great beer selection that was attractive to my dinner guest, the food was beyond bad. My guest ordered the Cobb Salad was complete with process chicken and average at best. I started with a Ceasar Salad which was missing any hint of anchovy - very mediocre - followed by the "deep dish" pizza. Prior to ordering, I had specifically asked if it was a true deep dish pizza like the Chicago style and was told yes. When it arrived at the table, the pizza was barely warm and the cheese not melted throughout. The waitress promptly called the manager who apologized and said the kitchen would remake it. About ten minutes later, the manager brings the second version to the table which was worse than the first. The cheese at the top was melted and the lower layer of cheese was still in the original shredded condition and a lower quality of mozzarella. I touched the inside of the slice which was barely warm...not even the sausage, tomatoes or crust were hot. This was a total disaster! The manager had served the new pizza yet did not stick around for even a second to be sure this attempt was successul. I am convinced the kitchen pre-makes the "thick" crust and then adds the toppings per order before placing under the broiler. Piping hot is obviously not on the menu! This was by far the most disappointing food I have experienced. Our waiter Heather was delightful and the only enjoyable part of this experience.
