going to BBB in state of nj i need help & somethimg has to be done also will contact local investigators for the state of NJ very un happy that co protect your home is BAD

I have called every ADT authorized company in my area...Guess what? I cannot get anyone to come service my ADT equipment...WHY? Because I do not have a monetering service from ADT....What a way to run a business...Quess I should notify the BBB.

An ADT salesperson just came to my door. This is not the first time I have been approached or called by a secuirty system company. I told him directly that I wasn't interested. He asked if I cared about my family and home. I said yes. But when I kept saying I wasn't interested, he told me that I didn't care about my home or family, that there weren't important to me. Then he brings up the Boston bombing and a children's event that is taking place in our city. He was incredulous that I wouldn't consider putting in the security system. His closing words were that he was glad he didn't have a video camera insinuating that anyone who saw it would think I was a lousy parent and homeowner, that I didn't care what happened to them!

My wife and myself had a new home built and ADT came in and installed a new system. We did not have any problem and the system is working great.

As I writethis, I am watching ADT Under Cover Boss! I sincerely hope many get the message in this day and age. I am a customer. On 10/11/01 a month to the day after 9/11. I was 15 n\minutes out of my residence. A neighbor started a fire, that not only destroyed all we (my wife and I) owned for 37 years but killed our beloved pet, our 10 month old dog and two parrots. If an alarm had sounded the response may have saved at least our pets. I see their horror that must have engulfed them every day. I have had ADT for some seven years, protecting not only my valuables but our home from fire and our 'four' tea cup yorkies. I am paranoid about leaving them in the event of a fire. I have made special instructions with your company, to notify the appropriate agency immediately and other phone arrangements, I am a retired and disabled Police officer, former chief investigator for the largest Insurance carrier in the U.S., eastern division, retired private Investigator. I know about the need for reliable security. Personally I appreciate your company and feel safe, while sleeping and away! (along with my licensing and training). LOL

Very disappointed with ADT. I just decided to upgrade my home security system that I have had for over 15 years. I paid in full an amount of $1650.00 and the check has cleared my Chase Bank account. I receive a statement from ADT with a bill of $1786.12 is due, date 5-1-13...

This company is something else. There have been nothing but problems since they purchased Brinks. I have been trying to cancel service since 11/2012, my renewal date and they are still billing me. It took them over 30 days to get a form that they needed me to sign and I faxed it to them on 12/20/12. They are still billing me. After several phone calls, I am now going to write the attorney general in Florida, the corporate head quarters and Illinois. If you have a choice, chose another security company. Dear Friends: I came up with an idea for school security. I’m no gun enthusiast and I don’t support the views of the NRA. I don’t like the idea of guns in schools whether carried by teachers or security officers. My suggestion is for you and similar companies to offer school security. Security alarms for each exterior door along with video cameras that cover school hallways and playgrounds. Security could be monitored by the principle’s office and vice-principle or the principle’s office and a security manager. If there was a breach in security, an alarm would sound and local police would be automatically contacted. The alarm would shut down the school unlike Newtown where the principle ran out into the hallway and confronted the killer. Dan

We had two accounts with ADT. We sold the second house and ADT cancelled the service on our home in which we lived and kept the service on our former property. The failed to notify us us and we only learned of this breach of contract after an incident where our home was entered while we were away. And tried to track down why the alarms were not monitored or reported. ADT had proceedures that could not correct their error in a timely manor nor would they. Their service totally sucks and they leave you holding the empty promises of a deceitful and rapacious sales department. Find an alternative.

I have been waiting since 12/8/12 for them to come and finish the install. they pulled the install fee and the check for the remote door lock out of my account twice. I have been transferred over 20 times trying to get it resolved. they have nobody in the offices that can make a decision on resolving it but yet when I simply asked to cancel the contract they will gladly do that but you have to pay a 900.00 termination fee. I am paying 64.00 a month to control my thermostat. stay as far away from this racket as you can.

Today I decided to call the number on this site and had a tech out within an hour found the problem was with the distance from the key pad they assured me it woould be taken care of by weeks end maybe I was a bit harsh on the company as a whole how ever there service number is still no better today they were supposed to call me back and never did anyway for those of you having issues I would suggest caling the number at the top of the page and cant say much good about the sales people either the tech that came today seem to be more knowlageable about the system as seemed concerned enough to tell me what was goin on and what they would need to do to get my system working properly maybe they need to be more selective on the techs they hire

just to let anyone know I would not ever do any business with this company I had a system installed on saturdat march 23 15 minuets after it was armed the fire detection system malfunctioned when they called they told me they could not get anyone back out to my place for a week so I paid 700.00 for a system that does not work and they act like it is no big deal all they care about is your money and there is no contact other than service or billing and they just keep telling you their sorry we can schedulre an appointment no one at this company gives a shit about anything but your money WARNING RIP OFF

after a house fire that our house was deemed unlivable ADT continued to take money from our account. After sending verification of the fire no one has yet to contact ys. How can companies be allowed to get away with this. I feel like a lawyer shoud be contacted on all the complainers behalf.

The installer came to my home and did and excellent work his name is Manuel , I recommend him to everybody .

ADT is an extremely dishonest, thieving company because they have no government agency overseeing/governing them. That contract you sign, of course screws you. Should you hit financial hardship and have to discontinue payment, they disable your alarm system, even though they did not install it and it is 100% paid for, as you were a free agent and selected them to be your provider. When you default, they take your payment on the condition that they make you sign a NEW contract for 24 months, even if you only had 3 months left on your existing plan and paid when you had the funds, they start the clock all over again, like they particularly love ppl struggling to rape them longer.

i was a Brinks customer that got bought up by ADT's monopoly purchase of Brinks. They have the worst service, i have a monthly maintenance charge to avoid service fees and i still get service fees when i call. they lie, cheat, etc........get out now while you can

ADT is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their equipment has not worked since Sept 12' - they continue to send out technicians that don't even know what they are doing. Send me a letter stating to raise my rates, I follow the guidelines of THEIR contract and they say we are still declining your request. After an hour on the phone a manager gets on the phone and repeats over and over as a manager I refuse to answer your questions anymore. They DON'T EVEN ABIDE BY THEIR OWN CONTRACT!!!! I know many many people in my town that have MAJOR issues with this company and they are rude, horrible customer service and ethically WRONG. When are companies like this going to be stopped?

Wish I didn't even have to rate this company. I just called to get a estimate of what the monthly service is, the person who answered the call was VERY RUDE and was belitting me cause I was calling before my home is finished being built and was treating me like I was dumb for even checking on monthly prices. How hard is it to say our monthly service is currently $$$$ but could change.

Three sales phone calls in one day. After every call I politely asked them to stop calling me. I would NEVER do business with a company like this. They must be desperate for business. Looking at all of the negative reviews on this page, that is obviously the case.

How can a company give you a quote for installing their services, not backing it up in writing then tring to get a $1700+ install fee and then come back with a "our rates have changed", even though you had an appointment scheduled for installation? Not the kind of company the deserves my business. I called the official ADT site to for my quote. I'd rate them less than 1 star if I could. I will not be getting them no matter what now after reading all these negative posts!
