Let’s start by saying that I didn’t have any problems with my powering steering until I took my car to Meineke for an oil change… I took my car into Meineke, on Saturday June 11th, for an oil change. Once the job was complete they said they noticed my car was leaking a little power steering fluid, right where the power steering pump lines up with an O-ring, and it was an easy fix. All they needed to do is tighten the seal. So I scheduled another appointment for Saturday June 18th to have the leak taken care of. Please keep in mind that at this point in time, I worked seven days a week. The easy fix ended up being a big problem for Meineke and I had to Leave my car there until Monday because the job wasn’t done correctly HUH?. I picked up my car that Monday at 5pm and was charged $102.82, which is the discounted price for not having my car finished within the 2 hour quote. Afterwards I didn’t have power steering At All!..... I wasn’t able to get my car back to Meineke until Saturday September 24th at which point they told me that my power steering pump was leaking and needs to be fixed ("fixed" meaning replaced). At the end of the day the total I had to put on a Credit Card (that I just paid off) was $778.32. Four days later my car starts making a loud humming noise every time I turn my steering wheel (this is the first time I've heard my car do this in the seven years I've owned it). I checked my power steering fluid and it was BONE DRY! I called Meineke and made yet another appointment.  On October 8th Meineke had to send me home with my power steering problem still unresolved, saying that I now needed a pressure hose w/ variable assist. Scheduled another appointment for Saturday October 15th, which Meineke canceled because the part hadn’t "arrived yet". Rescheduled for Saturday November 5th. This time, they said that the problem was that the variable assist valve was no longer in production. Strange how the part that 3 weeks earlier hadn't "arrived yet," had never been ordered because it was no longer in production. Lance (whom I’ve been dealing with the whole time) said that he would call around to find the part. He called me a few days later and said he found it, but it would only be sold with the power steering pump and he would like me to cover half the cost ($75). I can’t keep pumping money into this. At this point: I’m livid, between paying Meineke, having to buy multiple bottles of power steering fluid, and losing hours at my job so I can repeatedly take my car in, I'm over $1300 in the hole and most importantly, my car's "easy fix" is NOT fixed.  One additional note. I had a friend look over the work that Meineke has done and not only were two of the bolts that were holding my power steering pump in place loose (i.e. 1/8" away from the metal) but one was missing all together! If I could give Meineke No stars I would. I also will keep Yelp up to date on the status of this situation.

Your company installed a complete exhaust system in my 68 impala. They stripped the bolts in my exhaust manifold and used improper bolts to attach it,they used material so thin the cracks and holes cannot be repaired, and they hung the exhaust pipes so improperly I've had to use bailing wire to keep my exhaust tips from bouncing off the road. I had the exhaust leaks looked at today because Friday when I got to work I had exhaust so thick in my vehicle that when I opened my door exhaust literally rolled out in a cloud. Do you know what carbon monoxide poisining feels like? Its not a good experiance. I was told to completly replace all of the work your company has done, otherwise I will continue to have exhaust leaks that cannot be fixed. I cannot offord to get them replaced again already. This is a problem that can easily cost me my health or my life or someone else's life.

i Took my car there to get my brake pads change about 3hours later a get a call form the guy at the shop to let me know that my car was ready but that one of the lug nuts had broke when they where taking off the rim and that there was no way to buy just the lug nut so i needed to replace all of them. I HAD TO END UP PAYING ANOTHER 400 dollars!! Terrible service! I'm really disappointed!

I brought my truck in for a front brake replacement on 3/16/10. It took over 2 days to complete the service! When I picked it up I noticed the ABS brake warning light was on. They kept it a few hours more and it was "taken care of". When I had to have the brakes replaced 6 months later my mechanic found that the Meineke tech had broken the ABS sensors and spliced them together with electrical tape so that the warning light would not be tripped - this eventually led to a fried ABS module as well. I have tried over the last 10+ months to deal with both the local shop as well as Meineke's corporate office. I have been met with rude service, not returned emails, not returned phone calls, etc. The local shop owner says that he is not responsible because he just bought the shop and that I needed to take my claim up with corporate or the previous owner. Corporate claims it is the responsibility of the local shop owner and they won't give me the contact information of the previous owner.

When I first took car to be checked a emblem on the right side appeared missing and we didnt push because we were not sure where it was taken, when we took it for service the only emblem that was left on driver side was taken off this made my husband angry that day. I calmed him down and the parts they placed on my audi are rusting this is not good at all for a first time customer.. I am very unsatified I took my car to meineke for brakes and had disk replace andthe orginal parts never rusted. The new ones are not even 1 to 2 month old and there is rust coming to the disk and brake area I paid more than 800 dollars for these cheap parts.

this is the poorst auto repir SHOP that is on the market they sure don't do what they say they are going to do they break thing so to have more income they take advatage of seinors and unknowing people. every one should talk to the better business chamber of commerce and your attorney generals office for the fraud division.

While dropping off our son at school, the starter on our Trailblazer died. We had it towed to Meineke in Statesboro, Georgia after receiving assurances that they could replace it. Fast forward. One of the two nuts securing the starter was left off. To make matters worse, the electrical wires were connected so close together that the starter started intermittently even while the engine was running causing the starter gear to engage with the engine’s flywheel. The new starter died after eight days. A local shop that specializes in starters detailed the installation problems and showed me where the loose starter damaged the flywheel. I requested a refund just for the total labor only. George refused and offered a small percentage. I then called the national customer service group for Meineke/Macco/Driven Brands who could only echo the partial/unacceptable refund offer. Drive on by.

2001 Grand Am towed to Meineke in July, 2011. They replaced calipers, pads, rotors, Master Cylinders. This is over a span of 3 days. After several tows to Meineke their answer was to disconnect the ABS system. Took car home. Drove to work Monday, tires caught fire. Monica at headquarters contacted the Meinike doing the work and they said they need another chance. Brought in back one last time where the drove my car to another mechanic and he diagonsed it the ABS control unit costing about 1200.00 to fix. Meineke said they would fix it but never did. I had to go and "find" my car and finally had to buy another car so I could get back and forth to work. All I want is Meinike to pay for the rental car and credit my account on my credit card. I don't think I am asking a whole lot considering the insurance company had to come out and look at the damage from the fire when I was driving to work. I had to rent car out of my pocket. My credit card company asked Meinke what the problem was and they said it needed new brakes. But, that is the first thing they replaced. Please stay away from Meineke in Joliet, Il. 60435 on Larking Ave. They are at best backyard mechanics.

absolute horrible service at the Wantagh NY Meineke. I took my car there 2 weeks ago for a new exhaust, first of all the man at the counter was extremely RUDE! then $270 later I left with what I thought was a fixed exhaust system, when I realized my car was still loud, but Meineke had already closed I went to my mechanic thinking it was something different causing the noise problem, my mechanic showed me where they neglected to weld the muffler properly. So I brought it back to Meineke and explained AND SHOWED them what my mechanic showed me, they said ok, they'd fix it, again I left with a noisy car! thinking that the MUFFLER SPECIALISTS couldn't possibly have done a poor job TWICE, I again went to my mechanic, needless to say he put it on the lift and again showed me where they didn't correct the problem, I called them up to ONCE again explain the situation, they were beyond RUDE on the phone, and I have to go back a 3rd TIME! I work 60 hrs a week, 6 days a week and don't have time for this BS! it seems like they're always in a rush to get you out of there, and the customers are the ones who pay the price! DO NOT GO TO WANTAGH MEINEKE!!! Worse service I ever rec'd anywhere!!!! and my car is still loud b.c. I can't get back there this week b.c. of work. Wish I never went there in the first place!!!

I took my 2001 Mazda Protege to the Meineke in Carson City on hwy 50 for an alternator replacement. I requested to also have the brakes checked and an oil change. I was told they would replace the alternator for $76 but they did not have the part. They could not pick up the part that I found in town. I (stupid me) delivered my vehicle together with the new alternator. The owner, Ralph, later told me that the mechanic really struggled to change the alternator, that he had to remove the drive shaft to get to it. They did not increase the price however. I didn't get my car more then 15 miles or so down the road before my car was extremely over heating. My car has never over heated in the time I have owned it and am the original owner. I opened the hood to find the belt to the water pump is completely off and the belt to the alternator is not lined up right and would be coming off soon enough. Meineke in Carson did replace the belts, admitted they were not adjusted properly but insisted I got a great deal. Later the owner Ralph tried to say my water pump belt was old. In the first place then they should have advised me to replace it. In the 2nd place that was not so, it had been replaced two years ago as part of regular maintenance. After that the car was boiling over and when I tried to have them address this problem I got resistence. Ralph reluctantly agreed to have tests conducted at another Meineke in Reno since I couldn't drive my vehicle to Carson. I was told they did a "block" test and my engine was fine - it was all due to a faulty radiator cap - not their fault. (even though my radiator cap was fine prior to the over heating event caused by their faulty work). Ralph accused me of wanting a "hand out." A Mazda service center conducted a leakdown test the same day - about an hour later and reports the head gasget is blown and the cylinder block warped directly due to the over heating. This is a direct result of their mechanic, if you want to call him that, not making the proper adjustment when he installed the alternator. I faxed my documentation over to the coorporate office. I guess we will see what happens. If no satisfaction, and based on the above emails I am doubting, it will be to the attorney general, BBB, and court. In the mean time, I am struggling to commute to work and get my kid to school. What if they open my engine to do the head gasket and resurface the cylinder head and find even more damage? I am without any transporation to work that's what. Thanks Meineke.

Brought my car in for an oil change. As soon as I started my car up to leave noticed my fan was no longer working. Told them about this but of course they had nothing to do with it. I have NEVER had any problems with my fan ever. they say oh the motor must have died. A freaking oil change is now going to cost me big bucks to have the fan replaced.. I am taking them to court.

i went to meineke on jimmy carter blvd on 08/22/11 in norcross ga to get my brake shoes replaced i had already talked to someone and received a quote so i went to the shop walked in no one was in the office so i waited and waited and waited and waited well 30 minutes later i was still waiting while employees out in the shop noticed i was there but no one came in to acknowledge that i was a customer waiting to be served so i left and went to pep boys and received prompt service is this how meineke treats customers it wasn`t the point of waiting as much as no acknowledge i was in there i will never go there again and i now have a bad opinion of meineke and after reading all the complaints someone in the upper office needs to do some serious changes

I have spent about a year in dealing with Meineke’s incompetence. I finally had my case arbitrated by the BBB of Kansas City and won. This vehicle was brought in originally for an oil change and possible leak. After two visits, the second one being a “comeback”, Meineke still failed to change the engine oil and filter. Meineke “allegedly” found numerous leaks in the power steering system, including the power steering pump, hoses and the rack and pinion. The “alleged” replaced rack and pinion leaked and had a torn boot among many other concerns. Meineke utilizes a “shade-tree” mechanic approach to diagnose concerns in order to maximize customer repairs, resulting in fraudulent price-gouging of parts and labor. Meineke fabricates phantom parts and labor cost in order to justify their invoices. Meineke did offer to make repairs under warranty, but the facts are that this vehicle has been back to Meineke twice at a cost of over $3,260 and continues to leak even more each time returned. I had absolutely no confidence that Meineke’s “mechanic” could perform repairs a third time. This complaint was based on Meineke’s (1) failure to perform basic diagnostic procedures and basic repairs (2) price-gouging of parts and labor (3) incompetence over safety and (4) their lack of principle and integrity towards the customer. Instead of going into details here, check out my videos on YouTube, just search for “meineke rip-off” and leave a comment. Let’s stand up against incompetence and being ripped-off. Thank you.

they inspected car said passed inspection two weeks later had grinding noise from rear brakes had to get rear breaks the inspector also sold me the car his name is johnathan swanson also said tranny had one garatee which also went bad in two weeks . took him to court we won the cass he still never paid me 2100.00 two months have passed so be careful at meineke

I took my car in today to get an oil change. The mechanic began talking to me asking me how old I was, if I was married or engaged and how young I thought someone had to be to date me. So, after being sexually harassed by an employee, they took my car out for a spin around the block. (I guess they thought that was necessary for an oil change.) He then had me come into the garage and said I had a serious oil leak and that would need to be fixed and that he could not give me an oil change. Apparently giving someone an oil change is a liability if they have a leak. I decided to drive down to a friend of the family's shop. They took one look at it and said it was not that bad and to bring it in Monday. My friend told me that contrary to what meineke said, my car was not going to blow up and that the axles are fine. I will never go back to meineke. I will never recommend them to anyone. I plan to complain until the man who sexually harassed me gets fired. I am young and I appear to be naive, but I am not. Such men should not get away with that kind of behavior!! Especially men who are in their late 40s/early 50s

My husband took his 1995 Crown Vic to the Meineke on Melrose Ave in Roanoke Va for service on 12 July 2011. He made a trip to Atlanta Ga on August 2, 2011 and the car broke down 127 miles from Virginia. We had it towed with him, my grandchildren and a 11 month old baby in the car. I have called the store 5 times with no answer. The mechanic tells me that there was NO oil in the engine and less than a cup of oil came out of the car which leads us to beleive that there was NO oil put in causing the engine to lock up. This is very poor mechanical service and customer service.

Very poor service at MEINEKE 6902 5TH AVE.PITTSBURGH PA. $490.00 to install rear brakes, WOW. Which are too tight and grind when brakes applied. Over $550.00 to recharge a/c with several visits and still not fixed. Have photos showing faulty work. which they deny doing the work. Have Jerry rigged battery termal which could arc on hood and cause fire. Which this service center installed. This worries me. (Why won't Corporate look at my photos before the car catches on fire.)Ask for money back and the service center said no. I told them I would contact Meineke Corporate and Better Business Bureau and local news. They said call Corporate and hung up. I called Corporate, which took hours and hours and hours of waiting and Corporate called 6902 5th Ave Service center. The service center told Corporate I said I would shoot them in head with shot gun. I never threaten anyone. Is this this service centers game to think they will always win. Just said proably 50 times I wanted money back with service center saying no and I don't know what I'm talking about. Please help me Corporate Meineke !!!!!!!!!!! Several days now and just phone games. We are hard working people who deserves our moneys worth. So please give us a refund for the poor work done. And people stay away from 6902 5th Ave. Pittsburgh Pa.

I am appalled at the service i recieved at the Meineke in calgary AB on 12 ave sw. I took my car in to get an oil change and stripped the threads on my oil pan. Instead of telling me and owning up to the mistake they installed a temporary plug and never told me letting me drive away. I do not use my car very often so it sat for several months leaking oil. When i took it to another shop months later they immediately showed me that I had a temporary plug in and that the previous oil change that was done had ruined the oil pan. The manager there was very rude and completely useless his name is Kaz. I have looked on the internet and the are tons of people with similar experiences at that location. You need to look in to these complaints and take them seriously, how hard is it to change oil without ruining someone oil pan!!!!!!!

VERY CONCERNED MOTHER! My 20 year old daughter took her Kia Sorento to the Meineke in Cheyenne Wyoming and had a front left wheel bearing suposedly replaced. She dealt with Travis. 3 months later, just past the 90 day replacement for labor, the wheel began to shake. The Les Schwab where she currently lives stated the left front wheel bearing was "very bad" and it was dangerous to drive the vehicle! Upon speaking to Travis about the situation, he stated she would NOT be reimbursed for the labor and could only be reimbursed for the part IF, the part was still on the vehicle. So, the company would like to put my daughters life at risk to drive to the closest Meineke (2 hrs away) in order to stand beside their work? I will turn them in to the better business bureau for sure, and pray she can get the wheel bearing replaced when Les Schwab gets the part in two days. They could have quite a law suit on their hands here if that wheel falls off and she is hurt.

My fuel pump went out (Airtech)and I had to have my car towed approx. 3 miles to a Meineke store at 119th and Metcalf in Overland Park, KS. Jesus what a mistake that was, nothing but liars and scammers. They put in the first of 2 bad Airtech fuel pumps, the front manager told me at the time that they ordered them by two's because the first one invariably would go bad in a short time. (Interpreted as 2 weeks). That should have been a red flag, but I had no choice with a dead car. Two weeks later after working a 12 twelve hour night shift at the hospital I came out to a car that wouldn't start. Yes, I had to be towed again and yes at my expense of course. They put the second fuel pump in(remember they order them 2 at a time here.) and another two weeks later the same thing happened. Dead, had to be towed back to them at my expense..of course. The part and labor was approx. $450 plus two tows at about $75 a piece. Now it gets really good, lo and behold the second time I had to be towed in to 119th and Metcalf in Overland Park KS. it somehow became a relay switch and electrical problem, for which they charged me approx. $155. They told me for 3 weeks that my car was sitting outside that they were working on it. Well, I was checking on it in their parking lot everyday, and the relay switch box from under the hood never moved from my front seat. Lie, lies and more lies, everyday. Finally after 4 weeks with no car I called them on it and told them I knew they were lying to me. The owner Brendon and the manager Anthony then did the ol' shuffle and handed the problem off to Advanced Auto parts next door. Meineke obviously not going to make good on their 30 day Warranty program. Now Advanced Auto Parts, has given the bad fuel pump to be "tested" by its manufacturer to see if its faulty (what politician ever found himself guilty?). What a crock of sh*t. I didn't have my car towed twice after working 12 hrs. just because I couldn't think of anything else to do. So I had my car towed after confronting Anthony to a reputable mechanic at Executive Performance in Shawnee. They build race cars, are extremely professional and had my car fixed within 3 hours including putting all the wiring back together under the hood that the "mechanics" at 119th and Metcalf screwed up. Executive Performance also informed me that they quit using AirTech fuel pumps about 4 years ago because they are crap. So now Meineke is into me for about $800 including tows and I owe Executive Performance $630 for fixing the original problem and fixing the mess Meineke made under the hood with the wiring. Supposedly they are going to pay Executive Performance for the invoice. Excuse me if i don't hold my breath. We called the corporate office twice and it seems they do business like their stores do. F U just give me your money. CAVEAT EMPTOR !!
