I TOOK MY 08 ACCORD IN TODAY AND TOLD THEM I NEEDED FRONT BRAKES. THEY DID THE REARS A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. THEY CALLED ME AT HOME 10 MINS LATER AND TOLD ME I STILL HAD 45% LEFT ON THE PADS. I REALLY LIKED THERE HONESTY. I TOOK MY 92 ACCORD IN AND I KNEW IT NEEDED BRAKES. THEY HAD IT DONE IN 2 HRS AT A PRICE I THOUGHT WAS MORE THAN FAIR. BECAUSE OF THEIR HONESTY I AM A LIFE LONG CUSTOMER AT THE MEINEKE STORE IN GRESHAM, OREGON. ON TOP OF THAT THE PLACE INCLUDING THE BAYS WERE SPOTLESS.

I took my VW to one in Ft.Myers because i was having mechanical issues. After repeated attempts offixing things, and 3500.00 worth of charges within 2 months they finally told me that the entire engine would need replacing. So i took it to a buy here pay here to trade it in and get a runnig car.....turns out the mechanicat the buy here pay here fixed the problem ...and it was not the engine...so....I had to re-buy my car back for 5500.00 because they told me my car was junk and would no longer be fixable. The bggesst screw job ever!!!!

I have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata with 78,000 miles. I noticed a squeak when I apply the brakes as well as the steering wheel shaking. The Hyundai dealer told me the week before that my brakes were fine, but I needed struts and strut tower totaling over $900 for parts and labor. I was advised by a co-worker to bring it to Meineke to get another opinion. I brought my car into Meineke located at 743 Route 347 in Smithtown, NY where Eddie is the manager. I'm so glad I did because Eddie informed me that I did in fact need new brake pads and rotors, NOT STRUTS! Eddie scheduled me for brakes the following day. He was very thorough in his explanation of the brake job. I am so pleased with Meineke that I will now come to them in the future! I will recommend Meineke to everyone!

In August 2011 I took my car into the Meineke on Hwy 50 in Carson City for an alternator replacement. The mechanic could not speak english. The owner, Ralph Ahmad said he had to take the whole drive shaft out to replace the alternator. Not 8 - 10 miles down the road my engine severely over heated due to the water pump belt coming completely off and the alternator belt starting to come off. Ralph Amhad did replace the belts but refused to address the blown head gasket and warped engine block caused by his mechanics terrible blunder. I went to small claims court and only charged a portion of the over all cost to me. I won by default - no one from Meineke even showed. I was supposed to receive settlement by 12/18 and haven't received a dime. I went to the Court and then the Sheriff today to obtain and execution order for the judgement. I probably won't see a dime still and even worse - the ladies in the Sheriff's civil department recognized Ralph Ahmad's name well, other's have obviously been ripped off as well. I think I am going to picket the shop.

Meineke Car Care Center of Virginia Beach 1837 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23454 Last year this dealership was the GO TO place for our car repairs .....after reading the below and other online reviews...you will see a common complaint. 12-31-11 Had my vehicle inspected by this shop.I also had to wait 2 hours like the reviewer (Eshore) wrote on 12-30-11 on this site. I was told the brake pads had to be replaced, and the back rotors needed to be replaced. .I replaced the back brake pads. After driving my vehicle a short distance smelled something burning, called the shop the front desk guy answered and said it is ok ...that it is normal continue driving. Subsequent to that I drive my vehicle sparingly only a few miles. On 1-7-11 drive my vehicle and find that the rotors are almost smoking. Take vehicle to the shop and the first thing out of the same front desks (FD) guys mouth is it is the rotors. Drop my vehicle off FD guy was once again condescending, and confrontational. Latter receive have a call back from same FD guy that admits there is a problem and the calipers are locked (no problems with anything before) and that at least one needs to be replaced. The price to repair is outrageous so I ask to have my vehicle back, the FD demands I sign paperwork (my balance is $0) saying I know caliper lock up matter....I sign and then I do not sign off on a warranty issue .This is the WORST transaction I have EVER HAD.I finally had to THREATEN to call the POLICE to GET MY CAR BACK. This matter will be taken under advisement.'

I have spent lots of money to buy the lifetime warranty for brakes and pads on my 2000 Honda Passort. Yesterday I took it back to a Meineke shop because the brakes were sounding horrid, metal to metal. I spent 500+ in June 2010 for new pads, rotors etc. I now have only alittle over 20K miles and they are making that noise. Sent from one store to another in another city to have them look at car. Second place was going to charge 700+ including replacing bearings or 500+ if use warranty and see that parts were deffective. All of this is including them doing the work of replacing the bearings that was the "cause" of the pads and rotors to wear in the first place.First store affirmed that bearings could have been replace incorrectly. I had much discussion with second store manager. He refused to honor warranty. Took car to independent dealer and he assured me that bearings would not cause the problem of wearing pads and rotors.

This is the worst car place I have been to. I had an issue with my car and the manager said he would take the complaint to corporate. When I called corporate, they had no record of the claim. The mechanic put both front and back brake pads on the incorrectly. I was told the service would take an hour and a half. It took 3 1/2 hours. I was in the waiting room the entire time looking at the mechanic fix my car. He had no idea what he was doing. The manager and two other mechanics had to come help him. When I took it to someone else to get them fixed, I was told they would not reimburse me because I took it to someone else. Why in the world would I take it back to Meineke when they did it WRONG? Neither the manager at Meineke nor corporate was helpful in this situation. This establishment is not built to help customers and fix their vehicles. It is for them to make money doing work that has no quality. I have had 5 people ask me where to get their car fixed in Charleston. I have told all of them "DO NOT GO HERE".

I took my Toyota Pick-up in To Meineke to have the brakes looked because I head a rubbing noise, on December 26 2011. They removed all four tires and said my brakes were all fine. The problem was still there the next day, only worse. I heard this problem on the front. The next day I went back in and told them, they looked again and said my back brakes needed replaced. I needed to make a 1000 mile trip so I told them to fix them, thinking it was odd that the day before they said nothing was wrong on all four wheels. Upon bringing my truck home that day, I heard the rubbing or scraping yet coming from the front where I had heard it before. I took the truck back in today (Jan 3,2012. They again insisted there was nothing wrong with them. By the way, they installed the front brakes themselves and the warantee was still good on them. I argued with them for a moment, then took my keys and left. I will 'never' go into another Meinike shop in Boise, Idaho again. I have no choice but to make my trip that I have to. If there is an accident, or if I get stalled on the road, my lawyers will take over from there. Please for your own safely, stay away from Meineke! This Meineke is on located on Chinden St.

On 12/28/11 I took my Kia Sedona to Meineke Care Center #949 in New Castle, Delaware to have a catalytic converter installed. The manager there, Darren McCarnan appeared to be a nice person, however, he turned into a person of "fraud". To make a long story short, he ended up charging me $1,806.24. The cost of the catalytic converter was $689.00 and the labor was $255.00. Then, he told me that I needed a tune up and the cost of the tune up would be $777.30. I about died! He stated to me that he would try to cut down the cost. I asked him if he did and he said, "yes, I took off 1 hour of labor". There is no place in America where a tune-up cost $777.30. I graciously paid the $60.00 for the diagnostic fee, took my keys and left. My car is now in the hands of an honest professional whereby I am paying over half the amount Meineke charged. Would I ever go to Meineke again, NO. Would I send anyone else there, NO. I am going to report Mr. McCarnan to who ever I have to. This is fraud and a complete rip-off to a senior citizen. I rate this Meineke "0" star and the method in which they were to repair my car and rate is less than poor, it is riduclous. Very very poor!

I took my car to Meinke on 9/15/11. I wanted my brakes fixed and asked the Guy named Richard Can they look at my brakes and how much he quated $189.00. I ended up paying $387.00 before it was all over. I was threatened that I couldn't take my car by paing him $189.00 he quated, he said I asked way to many question. So I just paid and lefted . A week later I took the car back because it was making a loud squaking noise.he said it would go away so I believed him Well I took it back a few weeks later same story third time same story. The forth time he told me too never bring this car back, so I left and today 12/22/11 I brought my car back because I have warranty lifetime so the paper said. He was rude and nasty, he ended up letting the MECHANIC take it for a ride along with me he said hes not the original one who fixed my car, the guy no longer work their. Inwhich I already knew because the officer told me the same thing whoI talked to earlier. The new MECHANIC stated: I don't see why they would put front brakes and not rear brakes on the car. I agree because a good Mechanic would have done so. I called corporate several times finally hearing back from them today. The guy, said I told Richard that I had two guys to look at my car inwhich is not true far as touching it and taking it apart. All I said is that two guys rode with me and checked the car by listening to my car and both siad what Richards new mechanic said sounds like I need rear brakes. Now they are saying their not going to do anything because of this. Really! The warranty only said if they physically touched the car and been fixing on it. This is not what been done to my car just listening and riding to see what the problem was not fixing it after they worked on it. This place is a big mess and bad business, I will never come here agian. Corporate is not right, why didd I even call. All I wanted is for someone to fix my car right not cheat me. This happen at Cartersville ,Ga Meinke. A total loss and bad business. Mechanics quits because of bad business inwhich I can't blame him. This place should be closed. By reading review Meinke nationwide is bad business not willing to do the right thing. Please read this and the other four pages where they ripped people off badly. DO NOT GO TO NO MEINKE ESPECIALLY IN CARTERSVILLE,GA, OFF JOE FRANK HARIS PARKKWAY.

To whom it may concern. On December 16th 2011 i took my truck to Meineke here in Wichita KS. The salesman there (Brian) quoted me 203.00 for two hours of labor to put on a Catalytic converter. I arrived at the store at about 0750 in the morning and my appointment wasn't until 0800. I left for about an hour and returned just right at or right after 0900 to see the mechanic (Chad) driving my truck in the vacant parking lot next door ( not sure if they are suppose to do that or not). Anyway the job was done with in an hour but i was still charged two hours of labor. Thought you should know what kind of business that you company is running down in this neck of the woods. I can tell you now that Brian the saleman was very nice and curdious but none the less i feel that i have been over charged and taken advantage of. I understand the these days are hard but taking money out of my family pocket is ciminal. I WILL NOT EVER do business with your company AGAIN.

I wish I could get -10 stars to this corp! They say they have a warranty and refund policy, but in reality what they mean is that when they put a part on your car wrong and it fails and causes severe damage to the car and almost kills you that you are screwed. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Give me my money back mieneke!!!!!!

I am shocked and utterly disappointed at the quality of service delivered at your Amherst, NY location at 3955 Harlem Road, Amherst NY. I made the mistake of calling up your store to inquire about prices to replace brake pads. I was at my regular mechanic who showed me the extent of the brake pad problem and quoted me around $150 to take care of the issue. I asked him specifically about the rotors, and he told me that "surprisingly, your rotors are in good shape, and will not need replacing for another 30,000 miles" I called up the Meineke location in Amherst and was quoted a special half off discount price of $109--which was a lie! as the price for brake pad replacement was clearly listed as $129! I made the long trip to get my brake pads replaced, only to have the manager make up a number of problems, which no other mechanic had ever noticed! He also claimed that my rotors were in terrible condition and needed to be changed immediately. I was disgusted by the lies, and horrified that you have continued to certify this store with a gold star for the past few years. Terrible service given by terrible people who are only looking to make a quick buck! Shame on you management for letting this store operate and rip off people. Mechanics like this give all mechanics everywhere a bad reputation. I hope you will act in a speedy manner to resolve this issue. In the meantime, I will be sure to tell all my friend and co-workers about the terrible experience I had at Meineke.

meineke have replace my upper and lower ball joints.for the past 2yrs Ive had problems with my front end ever time i take my car to them they charge me for something this problem should have been taking care of when i first took my car to them.when they fix something they never put the truck back together like when it came to them now it Christmas time and i cant have one for more my kids because i need to have the same problem done to this car its been 2yrs and still having ball joint problems.

Was enjoying my Saturday afternoon day off when I got a knock on my door. Salesman for the Meinicke coupon sales was there. I said are you selling the Oregonian, a Portland Oregon paper, he said no, nothing so serious. He said he was with Meinicke, I said I wasn't interested, When I saw that wasn't enough I said I already have a similar plan for oil change: which I do, I go to my dealer every 3000 miles for a oil change. Well he gave me the dirtiest look, said " whatever" and stomped off like a child. I called the local Meinicke store to complain about this salemans'? behavior, but they just gave me the number of the company that hired him. I called that number but I just gor voice mail and left a message. I'm sure that will go into the roundfile. This company has to remember that this guy represents them and I for one, will never do business with them based on this experience.

went in for front end alingment and they said that my brakes and lower ball joints was .needed to be replaced .what liars had just put on new rotors and pads .they told me i had the wrong roto ha ha hell.if that was the case then why do they go get the same part from the same store that i had bought it from and put another on .the same part number on the ripp off recipt they gave me .matched the same one they told me was the wrong one .went to diffrent shop mechcanic . told me that what they should have noticed was right front wheel bearing going bad .because everthing eles is tight. seeked legal advice called back to the meineke on firetower road asked for a refund .they said no well they will say yes because this isnt over i plan to take this matter to court if nessary. the meineke in winterville northcarolina what liars will never do buisness with them ever again .think places like that should be brought to the media .because i have proof the three day old rotor .that i had put on myshelf should have not been change because it was the correct part .they said my truck was unsafe to drive .what liars

The store in Mission Viejo on El Paseo is run by a very unprofessional manager. I went in for an oil change with a coupon and the first thing out of the manager's mouth was the vehicle takes a special oil filter and it would be an additional $10 charge. Now the vehicle has had about 10 oil changes from other various companies and never once did they charge extra for an oil filter. I mentioned this fact to the manager and he went into a tyriad laced with profanity and he started charging my car. I guess I hit his hot buttom when I challenged him about the validity of the charge. Upper management should really examine his qualifications and send him to some anger management classes before he creates a major lawsuit for their headquarters.

had our truck serviced at your waltham mass facility and had it back three times for brakes locking up. owner says i can't find anything???????yet we paid for brake work and am not satisfied!I should have read the reviews first totally unprofessional in my opinion and others i see.unsafe and now do i live with it no i will go somewhere else.Buyers beware of this company................

I have a vehicle that I maintain meticulously. I always change the oil every 3000 or less, and I am always on top of anything including any engine warning lights that may appear. Although i have alot of miles, I still believe it has alot of life left in it, due to my due diligence. I had just had my oil changed the week prior, and when I went to work the following week an awful sound started. I know for sure the oil was changed properly as I stood around the shop I have used forever and saw it done. I also had a diagnostic FREE test done to insure no issues prior to winter driving. All was well. The following week when the awful sound started I just prayed I could get to work. No warning lights came on and it was not running hot and it continued to drive fine, just a bad noise like a fan blade or a bushing or something that could be easily fixed. Made it to work just fine. Even started it back up no problem. Went into work and was aware a Meineke was just blocks away. Since I just wanted a FREE estimate what could be the problem, the guy on phone said no problem and even offered to come get the vehicle. NO MENTION OF ANY COST FOR A FREE...FREE..ESTIMATE. Hours later calls and tells me my engine is BLOWN. Yeah right. A new one will be 3500 DOLLARS or rebuilding mine would be 2500 DOLLARS. Yeah right. Okay no one in there right mind, even if he was CORRECT would just do the work, I dont have that kind of money and had to have a 2nd opinion on something so outrageous. I would have gladly given that shop the actual work if indeed that is what it really turned out to be. He went to tell me other items that would HAVE to be changed when the engine was installed, so we then would be like 5000 (thousand) bucks. I called back and kindly asked if a tow company I was aware of being reputable could pick it up and I am having it towed to another shop (one my coworkers recommended). He said sure. He then called back and said HOWEVER you need to pay for the DIAGNOSTIC check I performed, which is normally 70 dollars but I will lower it FOR YOU to 40 something bucks. I said WHAT? I did not AUTHORIZE a DIAGNOSTIC check and there was NEVER a mention of a single amount that I would have to pay for a FREE check of my vehicle? He said sorry for that, but I would have to pay it. I said fine, the tow company is one the way, I will have my ride bring me over after work with a check. Hour later tow truck driver calls, they are holding your vehicle HOSTAGE until you PAY THEM A CHECK? I SAID R U SERIOUS??? For heavens sake, fine, would you the tow driver be kind enough to come get your check for the tow and the check for this SO CALLED MECHANIC AT MEINEKE, give it to him so he will RELEASE MY CAR? He said no problem. So, after work I went and asked the guy why on earth he did business in this manner. He would not look me in the eye and frankly was as rude as they come? I tried my best to be cordial and precise and it WAS NOT THE MONEY AS MUCH AS THE PRINCIPAL of being ripped off, lied to and treated like he was treating a customer. He then started in on some ridiculous analogy about going to the doctor and getting a free estimate??? I said NEVER MIND, HAVE A NICE DAY. He cashed my check within 24 hours. I am not done. I am going to the BBB as many others NOW I hear have done for the same location of the so called INDEPENDENT MEINEKE (YOUR CORPORATE NAME IS ON THE ESTABLISHMENT I WOULD THINK IT WOULD BE IMPORTANT THAT THEY RAN BY CERTAIN RULES AND CONDITIONS) as well as I am compiling a large amount of complaints from other people that have been treated in this manner. I would NEVER recommend this place and I will get resolution. This is not over yet. He even made a smart remark about where I work, like he could make a bad name for me, that wont happen!

On 11/18 received a price for $119.00 for front brakes on my 2010 Chevy Traverse. Dropped vehicle of meineke called to up charge to grease the slide on the caliper $19.95 this should be part of the job on top of that I picked my vehicle up went home which is about a halfe hour away and discovered a very bad shaking in my front end which is coursed br a warped or a poor job of turning my rotors I called and was told they test drove my vehicle and it was perfect. I am sitting in mineke it's 4,40PM and they have to repair what they said they fixed this morning. Better using a sertified dealer or do it your self. I will never use this franchise again .The manager at this store is worthless put my car up on lift without telling me what was going on or how long it will take. Thinking about doing a charge back on my credit card what's my time worth ? Aperently nothing to them it's all about the money. What a joke.
