I bought a gift card for Christmas and had it sent to a friend... Well when my friend never received the card I called customer service. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. These people have been playing games with me telling me ohhh a new card will be sent out...or then they say well only a manager can help you.... it has been months and not only have they not issued a new card but they refuse to give me the credit back... NEVER BUY A MACYS GIFT CARD AS THEY DO NOT PROTECT YOU EVEN WHEN THEY MAKE THE MISTAKE...... HORRIBLE...... HORRIBLE..

To whom it may concern, Macy's has an employee by the name of Rita Tollinche Singh whom works at Towson mall in Baltimore, Md. I am a child of God and I should have reported this earlier. This has be going on far to long. Rita Tollinche Singh has been stealing property from your store such as handbags (coach) and jewelry. During the Christmas holiday she was making a profit off of stolen property from Macy's. Rita Tollinche Singh would have customers bring old handbags (coach) to her counter in exchange for a brand new handbag even if the handbag had a little spot on it. I just wanted to inform u of this matter. Stealing is a sin and its just not right. Thank You

This is not about inside of Macys but right outside of the store. I could not believe how much birds dropping on the concrete part right outside of the store to the left. You can tell that it's not just today or even a couple of days to accumulate that much droppings. I've been your patron since 1955 and it was the first time I've ever witnessed a filthy mess like this. Won't you advice your store manager or cleaning persons to keep it clean ? The store I am talking about is in Modesto, California. Regards, J. Sheehan

I had a terrible experience today at Macy's. I walked to 5 different desks and there was no help to be found. I finally found the bathing suits and decided to try a few on. All the dressing rooms were locked but one, so I went into the only one that was available. As I was trying on these suits a lady, I believe a Ms. Hatter, from that department tried to open my locked door. I said out loud that I am in here. She shoved her hand through the door and unlocked my door as I was dressing!! She opened the door wide open and told me that I was not to be in here because it is a special dressing room. This happened to me today at the Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills, Illinois about 11:30 or so. So I decided to go to the offices and report my story to the manager. The lady in human resources called the manager to come down. I human resources lady was saying on the phone, I did ask her, I tried to help, I already did that. I felt that the manager was reluctant to come down and talk to me and that she was asking the lady in human resources to take care of me so she did not have to address the problem. The people I encountered are not competant, unprofessional, also probably understaffed. Never again!

Sure wish I would have read some of Macy's customers comments before I purchased a sectional sofa on Dec 1,2010 from the Flatirons store in Broomfield, Colorado. I would have gone elsewhere. Was told it was on B/O and will be delivered 12/28. No call the day before about delivery, and I found out by going to the website on the day of "delivery" that it was cancelled? Didn't make it on the truck from LA-rescheduled for 1/11/2011-NOT. Didn't make it on the truck from LA-rescheduled for 1/19/2011? Maybe Easter? Obviously Macy's has NO INTEREST in their customers, as nobody has responded to me about the situation yet, and from reading comments, it will never happen. What a pity for a large corporation like Macy's to have total disregard for their customers. I truely find it remarkable that Macy's has gotten so big and have the most negative customer comments of any company I have ever done business with.

I was a big fan of your private label program Tasso Elba. In the last 18 months I have noticed that the selection of the styles and piece goods has really dropped. It is clear that there is a new buyer with no taste level. I used to look to Tasso Elba as the line that had great patterns in piece goods and inovative styling. Now its reall ho, hum and I havn't bought anything for the past year in this line. I'm writing to not only register my disatisfaction but to light a fire under your buying staff.

Your store policies stink...last time I buy anything in your store...my dtr had a $1,000 doller limited, always paid on time...had a small balance of about $160 I made a $50 payment for her, because she has been hurt, not working for a few months...the payment was only due was $15.00. thought I would help her stay ahead....after paying off the original balance...decided to by only $160 in clothes...so here I paid $50...only wanted to put new purcheses on card...guess what they dropped her limited too $100 so I paid the complete bill, and told your store manger where your company could take its card at $35% interest with a New Late fees of over $37.00 glad we have never been late...very glad I closed card...and even happier when the store manager herself that the people who are running this store are crazy...and she workes for them...lines of people for the sale all paying cash and returing their cards...so you people basicly screw people who do not want to go over your limit and do not want to pay high interest rates...and do not always use your card...no problem..when you see racks and racks of unsold merchandize and no one buying in your store...Macy's can go the way of other stores...closing down....see you...never again...my visa give me a 4% interest rate and I always pay it in full and never have a problem...by the way...incase you fools do not know it...here is Calfornia we have your number...some apply for the card the day of the sale, and most are denied for some reason or another, but the store always gives you the sale price and the discount whether you are approved or not...and some of us just share one card...and pay cash to our friends and get all the discounts....people are becoming smart and will learn how to screw companies like yours...have lived on cash now for a long time...no interest ,no debts...but great prices.....only buy sales and get all the discounts we can....I just brought one of your dress shirts...a $40 dress shirt at your Macy/s for $7.00 ...cannot beat that anywhere...no interest, no card, left your store..only to return again at your big sale and play your game...the lady was nice and spoke the truth...she herself does the same thing...your own employee...o. well...she is no dummy....everyone in line had a great day, learned your system and walked out a little smatter and a lot richer....am spreading the word...may see your store again next year...if you are still around....got over $150 worth of clothes for less than $40 for me and my dtr...are you sure your business officers know what they are doing? Americans shoppers get smart. play the system..save save save...and stop these crooks from cheating us and making money...hit them where it hurts in their pocket books...save your own money....hard owned money...take on the govenment and banks next...become debt free...great feeling,,,great stressless life...thanks Macy's for your stupidity and have to say it good clothes at dirt cheap prices....even better than a used clothing store...all of us ladies had a great day.....you cheat us we cheat you...you try to take our money and we will take it all back...there are always ways to beat the system legally....wonder why I am telling you,...so other customers will get smart....Have a great day....

Hope you print my comment...not expecting you to...but at least I tried...

I bought a pair of Marc Echo jeans at the Macy's store in Smith Haven Mall, Long Island New York, at a sale price of $39.99. A week later after observing a broken button by the rare pocket flap ( A special type of button)I attempted to return the jeans. The ignorant sales person ( An older man) stupidly explained to me I could only receive $12.00 because I didn't have the receipt for a brand new jeans I bought a week earlier. I think that was ridiculous and the ignorant fool needs training.

To whom it may concern: I am extremely dissatisfied with your company in its entirety. From day one of getting the furniture delivered it was a horror. They finally delivered the bedroom set but with the wrong pieces of wood to lay the bed on so I was forced to sleep on the floor for days to come. Finally after numerous calls to your customer service department they finally sent me the correct pieces of wood. I never dealt such rude ill mannered people in my life. I paid over $5,000 for this bedroom set cash and you would think I would get some good customer service. I even elected for the worry no more warranty plan that you offer. I just got off the phone with your warranty team 'Uniters North America" and they were horrible to deal with. From Willy the first person I spoke to the Supervisor Adrian in West Palm Beach, FL. They all need some training in customer service. If your going to contract such a company to do your warranty you really should check them out thoroughly before doing so. I am for sure you will be loosing tons of customers due to the lack of customer service. One of the dresser drawers track broke on one of the drawers and that is not covered under your warranty. What a joke, it obviously came broke because it was difficult to close from day one. I also have a few surface scratches on my end tables as well as my dressers. I also have a nick on the foot board and headboard. I never thought in a million years that Macys of all companies would treat me with such disrespect in my life. I will never shop in your store and I will be sure to tell everyone I know about the great service I got from your company. Please forward this letter to your president and CEO. I request a response ASAP. Thank you so much for a wonder shopping experience. Macy's needs to immediately address the evident language barriers between fluent English callers and the distinctive thick Indian accents of the operators that are working for the Macy's credit card customer service phone line if they are to truly serve their "valued" customers. I called Macy's credit card (MCC) customer service to pay my first MCC bill today, and one of the operators ended up using my debit card information in a way that was very misleading behind his already incomprehensible accent. I was charged far more than I had agreed to pay for, not to mention the additional phone fee (~$14, seriously?) that I was not informed to need to pay for. The lack of transparency and clarity of the operators for MCC customer service are significant issues that I had not foreseen to have to deal with considering Macy's reputation as an already widely distinguished department store. Needless to say, after talking to 3-4 of what seemed to be the same operators (even the supervisor could not direct me to one person in the building that spoke fluent English) for over an hour and a half, I could no longer imagine dealing with such frustration and dissatisfaction again. MCC customer service was only able to accomplish one thing that I requested, and that was to officially cancel my Macy's credit card. As a loyal customer of Macy's, my experience today with MCC customer service is sadly to say one of the poorest customer service that I have known in my entire life; even saying that my experience today with Macy's is disheartening would be an understatement. Macy's, I urge to please find operators that can at least speak clear and fluent English if they are to efficiently communicate with American customers.

Im starting my own Perfume/Cologne line and was wondering if i could have any helpful information as to how i could get my product in any of your stores or any information that would guide me in that direction. Email: castorfaceoff@gmail.com

As a frequent shopper at Macy's, I have decided to never shop at Macy's again. The service I have received during this Christmas holiday with the online ordering was the worst. Macy's showed how bias they are, and how they pick and chose the customers they want to reward with great customer service. I am also very dissatisfied with management, and how they feel about the customers. Macy's has lost this customer, and I will share my experience with others.

Rec'd a call from Mason, OH, but both people I spoke to were obviously Indian. When I told the rep (who was extremely difficult to understand) that I'd paid my bill and had confirmation from my bank, I was disregarded, (or told to fax it; they could not receive email confirmation) told I owed more and when I read off my statement, due dates, amt due and the balance, explaining I'd paid more than amt due, that I'd pay my next bill when due, I was accused by the rep of refusing to make a payment. He confirmed all the statement info I'd provided but it still got me nowhere. This went around 2-3 more times before I requested to speak to a supv. I was asked, why, but simply asked again. This took considerable time to be connected; and then, was connected to the supv who was also very difficult to understand. Finally, after repeating everything over and over, I made another payment thru my bank (since my original had yet to post he said) and that if I paid on the phone (as he invited me to) I'd be charged a fee...........I was furious! Told them any chance they had of my shopping there this holiday season has been shot by these interactions and defamatory accusations that I was refusing to pay a bill. Rude, disrespectful and deplorable customer service.

Macy's in my opinion is not the store that it use to be. It seems that they just hire anyone to meet a number. Customer has failed and I feel that many do not know what good service is anymore. Another thing that I have noticed about Macy's is that the run different prices online and in the store. I was going to purchase a pair of boots and decided that I would check in the store first to see if they were available. The store wanted $69.99 sale price and online, they were only $39.99 sale price! I find this to be ridiculous and I have never shopped any other stores that made a difference with in store and online. I really have no desire to be the loyal Macy's shopper that I use to be. I spent alot of money in Macy's but I see that I'm about to leave Macy's until they can do better.

I didn't know until recently with a bad online shopping experience that the customer service phone number listed online would be just as terrible AND outsourced. No one spoke english properly and the Indian accent was so strong I couldn't even confirm anything with them, after 30 minutes on the phone. I was a faithful Macy's customer, spending probably a couple thousand a year, but this one experience has changed that for me, and it still remains unresolved because no one from the online team has gotten back to me either.

I bought furniture totalling almost $3000 in September at your Washington Square store. I applied for a Macy's card so that I could get the promotional 10% off and was declined since I was going through closing for my house. The store manager promised to send me a $100 gift card for my inconvenience. It has now been 2 1/2 months and guess what???? NO GIFT CARD! The sales lady that helped me is always at lunch when I call. What a scam. Not to mention the furniture that was so expensive is crap. I scooted the couch across my wood floors and now there is a knee impression in the back of the leather couch that will not go away. I know I did not push it that hard since it glides across my floor being as I put floor protector pads on the legs. Got talked into the furniture insurance and I sure hope I never have to use it bc I bet it will be a nightmare. You're a bunch of fakes. Missing Meier & Frank and their customer service like mad. If you're considering shopping for furniture go somewhere else. Save yourself the headach.

I selected 1 star but you don't even deserve that. My daughter does not live at home anymore but apparently she never updated her phone number with Macy's. I have received two phone calls within the last two days regarding my daughter's account. He was rude and demanding. I called and told her about the calls. She then called customer service in which they said her December 1st payment of $15 never went through. It is December 15th and they are calling customers regarding a $15 payment that is two weeks late. I am furious that Macy's considers this good customer service. My daughter is going to destroy her Macy's credit card and I am joining her. Rest assured I will be spreading the word about Macy's poor customer service and won't be shopping there in the future.

BEWARE OF CLERKS MANUALLY ENTERING YOUR CHECK INFORMATION!!! A NIGHTMARE!!! EVERYONE: FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE! I recently purchased a high end item - presented a check which had been in my wallet, folded therefore due to the crease did not go through the register scanner causing the clerk to manually enter my checking account #. The account # she entered was 1 digit off - the checking account of another person- not me so the check was never presented to my bank. Nearly 2 months later I received a call from a collection agency letting me know I not only owed for the coat but a $30 check fee & my name is now listed on "trying to pass fraudulant checks". I immediately called my bank. The bank stated the check of the date/store was never presented to my account. I gave the bank the account # the collection agency said they were trying to collect on (thank God the collection agency gave me this information) & the bank said they see where Macy's tried to post my check to the other account which is 1 # off & yes a fraud allert had been put on this other persons account. The bank said this happens quite frequently cashier error. Not wanting to jeopordize my stiller credit, I paid the $30 check fee (what was I to do, have a collection go on my credit report?) however Macy's refuses to refund the $30 NSF fee the collection agency is charging me... charging ME... a fee for their store clerks error!!! The item is being returned & I am filing a report with the Attorney Generals OFfice.. oh yes about the coupon booklets you pay $10 to get great 1 day discounts.. the fine print reads "cannot use on items ending in 98"...crap.... all sale items end in 98! I used to love love love Macy's.... let em file for bankrupcy ... they lost my business!

Just to let Macy's corporate headquarters know the name of the rude man who called twice regarding my daughter's account is Norman Jeffries. Not only did he have the wrong number but he proceeded to demand information regarding my daughter. Upon telling him not to call my home again, he informed me that he would be calling again until he spoke with her. I think this is called harrassment Macy's.
