I have a complaint wrapped up with a compliment. I had a replacement card from my bank lifted and several charges were being made at a closeby Macy's where I never shop (too rich for my fixed income). Anyway, I got an 'irregular charges' flag on my email. I called the bank to get the card frozen as I didn't not know it had been stolen until these charges showed up. the Bandk (Bank of America) didn't act in a timely basis and my account was being cleaned out. I ran to the local store (Volusia County Mall) and talked to the security supervisor, manager and about a dozen clerks. I got a description of the person using the card as it was still happening in the store.....they couldn't do anything to stop it and this person was going from department to department. My complaint is that they allowed a large, black African American to use my card (they don't reguire a PIN when the clerk enters and Macy's doesn't use Point of Purchase machines) - therefore the clerk should have compared my photo of a blonde, Caucasian with Green Eyes to the person presenting the card - it was screamingly obvious this wasn't a match! Why doesn't Macy's insist on their clerks matching the card with the presenter??? A very young clerk in jewelery finally stopped the woman and she ran just moments before I got there. As my B of A card wasn't reported lost or stolen (didn't know as it was lifed in mail) they say I am responsible for charges. Sigh. Can't win.

I had never ordered online through Macy's before but I will never do it again. I placed an order but it didn't go through, so I called the customer service (an Indian) individual took my call. I ended up getting transferred 3 times. The final person informed me I order didn't process, so I should go back onto the website and replace the order. So I re-submitted my order. The next day I was informed via email both orders were processed, surprise! I proceeded to call the customer service again. I couldn't hear what they were saying because they couldn't articulate their words along with the tremendous amount of background noise. They told me they were cancel the first order and my items from my second order would be in my 12/6. After getting back from vacation on 12/12 I was surprised to not have my packages waiting for me at home. It took me 3 phone calls, 2 times asking for the supervisor, one time of them hanging up on me after I asked to speak to their supervisor, and over 3 hours later.... My order was shipped and then returned to the shipper. Now their are none left in the warehouse and they will call me back if they are going to be able to get me my item. Macy's get customer service agents who know what the hell they are doing and can clearly communicated that with the customer. I'll post when this issue is resolved.

I was in your Oakbrook store the other day with my fiance and she was in your womens shoe dept. we were being assisted by their supervisor Sheila who has excellent people skills, she was willing to help us in an orderly fashion which we spent over $500 on shoes. I am writing you and hoping that you send this to her and her store manager because we need more people like her and i would love to come back and shop with her again, and would love to see her as a manager and training other people in Macy's to be as much of a peoples person with excellent customer service skills just like herself, because the bolingbrook location has very bad management and customer service skills i will never shop there again. but people like Sheila needs to be kept around and thats coming from me in which i have several businesses. thanks for your time, Dave Macey Entreprenuer

This is very disappointing as I have always like Macy's and when I could afford it I would shop at Macy's. Two weeks ago I completed the online process for employment through SnagaJob and was scheduled an interview for today at (12-9-10) 11am I arrived 10mins early and was told they had no knowledge of the interview, receptionist did call someone she came about 30mins after my arrival I was interviewed. Interview was going well, Manager informed me about the young lady she has to replace that she doesn't want to let her and store budget, she did ask if I would have a problem working long hours and I stated no. Manager went on to say that due to the current budget they are not HIRING but would keep application on file until spring and that things change daily which is the filed of retail, having to deal with change. I phoned Corporate and was told they are SORRY and that they would call the store. WOW what some support. Here I face homelessness and want to work. Thanks Macy's and get this I received another e-mail about positions in the Georgia area. Thanks.

Macy's Shop Danbury accepted credit card fraud case for my credit card. Though I informed them by phone while I was in Atlanta that THIS IS NOT ME , they went with the transaction and completed it , TWO Transactions!! This was in 4th March , i reported this to the police department in Danbury with police report number 1011733 and officer badge 568. Nothing done , still my bank charged me foe the money and I had to pay all amount and wait for MACY's management to see whats the process. Note: I do thank the lady manager for Macy's in Atlanta , she was very cooperative to help me calling them from Atlanta to danbury trying to stop the transaction. I was with my daughter at the macy's in Waterbury Ct. While trying on a pair of pants a used hypodermic needle fell out of the pants. We immediately left the dressing room,. I went to get a sale's person my daughter stood guard outside the door. The sales woman put a wet floor sign near the door as we went to see their security person. He took our names and phone numbers on the back of a sales slip. My daughter talked to a claim adjuster who made her feel awful I just finished talking to ms Attitude. She had no respect for my concerns At one point she laughed at me! Apparently Macy's has no incident or accident for customers to fill out Oh yeah The wet floor sign did not work a customer moved it to enter the dressing room needle still on the floor. The claim adjuster thought that was on the customer no fault on them . Going back to that awfull day the security guard showed me the cardboard box he was going to put the needle into with gloveless hands. I know a little about universal precautions and don't think Macy's employees are schooled in them.My daughter's life is now on hold for 6 months Ms claim adjuster thought that was amusing I mean really none's future is assured. it makes me sad that my daughter must pay for her medical expenses Macy does not have a policy to pay for customer's accidents This is worse than an accident This might turn out to be a life altering experience. My daughter is not sleeping nor are her family. This trip to macy's turnout to be a nightmare People be warned. This could be you or your loved one I will never buy anything at Macy's. They are doing nothing to assure us that they will try to promote a safe store. Little ms sunshine said really what can they do about this happening again. Macy's did not feel the need to notify other merchants in the mall. I did however. Safety should be their main concern not sales

I just read the story of the San Francisco store firing the santa that had been there for 31 years. I also read the innocuous joke that he was fired for, that he told only to adults. The joke is really the two adults that actually had the gall to sit on his lap. I have forwarded that story to my friends, and am writing to the corporate idiots that fired him. I am, and feel certain ANYONE I tell this absurd story to, will boycott Macy's. I hope his attorney nails Macy's to the wall.

Im a costumer and I have shopped at the Macy's in the valley fair mall in ca. for yrs also the one in Stone Ridge Mall Plstn ca. I have to say its been great. How ever as of today I,m ASHAMED to be called a Macy's customer.. The Firing of Santa Claus in your San Fransisco Ca. Store is Appalling and telling the customers he was retired to save your Image just Shamefull to say the least. A Major Over Reaction to a 20 Institution is Just WRONG.... What would Mr. Macy's say... SHAME,SHAME,SHAME to fire an institution is to say that you no longer care about SANTA CLAUS and your customer bass. I know Im not the only one who feels this way and You should be ashamed. This is Christmas Time and I'm telling every one I can about how you treat a 20 yr Institution for Heaven Sake. SCROOGE is the your calling card Shame on you. Do the right thing and Hire back with open arm's.

I purchased a chocolate leather sofa, which was returned as a factory defective item. Working with customer service has been a huge challenge, very inconsistence from call to call, after over 18 calls, Macy’s picked up the sofa on 11/20/2010 and as of today, 12/7/2010, Macy’s has not refunded my money. I purchased the sofa using a split payment, more than half in cash and the balance by master card, and the customer service department was at a lost on how to refund the payment. I am up to call 28, and Macy’s customer service team would not provide me with a number to Headquarters to file a formal complaint, they also state that I could only write in using a P.O. Box after being on the call for over 50 minutes. I have decided to contact the BBB.

You really need to review your customer service policy. Do you really think it is a good business practice to charge people a minimum $2.00 service charge when they pay their bill promptly (early even) and in full? Do you charge EVERYBODY 25% interest? Are you kidding me? How do you treat customers who malinger or operate in bad faith? You have misapplied my payments in the past and tried to charge me a $30 late fee. When I protested and you figured it out, you assured me the charge would be reversed. Interestingly enough, this was also on the Visa/Macy's card debacle. But really, DO you charge everbody 25% interest? Or is it just me because of the late charge that should have never appeared because it was due to your own error?

I made a 33.00 order, then received an email that it had been cancelled. This was to go to my great nieces in another state for their holiday outfit. I called to see what the problem was since my Macy's card has nothing on it and my Visa Business Card I pay fully at the end of each month I wondered what in the world it could be. The lady on the phone said the phone number I gave on the online order was inconsistent with the phone number Visa has....I gave her the number again and she said it wasn't what Chase had. I was appalled with Chase for giving out an unlisted number to my home for one but I had given my cell number for the order and also the 3 security numbers on my Visa card. The lady said my order still was cancelled due to the phone number differences...I have never in my entire life had anything like this happen. I am assuming Macy's is really having economical problems or your all are making a lot of money and are that picky. I called into Chase, changed the number to my cell but the guy was surprised that someone called and Chase gave my unlisted number out and I have set up a password for anyone to get my account info and they just gave it out to Macy's without the woman knowing the password as she had me on hold while she did it. I gave her that number and said that I knew which one they had but there was a reason that I didn't put it down on anything online. I give my cell number to businesses as well as orders. You will get my Macy's card from the one in Austin as there are other stores to purchase from as I did. I decided to go to Macy's since I went to Neiman Marcus nearby but I can do without MACY'S altogether...evidently you don't need my business and as I read it seems you don't need a lot of people's business as well!

VERY DISGUSTED WITH ATTITUDES OF PEOPLE WHO WR AT CORPRATE, NOT HELPFUL AT ALL ,ETC

I have been a 30 year customer of Macy's and it's predecessors, Dayton's and Marshall Fields at their store in Fargo, ND. Recently I bought a shirt for $24.08. at the Fargo Macy's store. It was charged to my credit card. We bought another house and changed adresses. As a result my account bill was sent to the old address and we did not receive the bill at our new address until the account was several days past due. To my amazement I was charged a $17.00 late charge on the total billing of $24.08---a 70.83 percent late charge. I wrote a letter long with a check for $26.48(a 10% late fee) and advised that they should return my check if they did not agree to accept the 10% late fee. They cashed the check, closed my account and are now billing me every month with an additional late fee. WHAT A WAY TO TREAT LONG TERM CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fortunately there are other places to spend my hard earned cash

After 40 years of being a loyal customer to Macys in every state I have lived in, I will never shop at Macys again. That includes any store or especially at Macys.com. I have never been treated so rudely in my life as I just was from the Macys.com Executive for customer service. Not only did she continually talk over me, she did nothing to fix Macys.com's mistake. There are so many other choices of stores to buy goods at, you would think treating customers with respect would be a high priority with Macys. I would like to see how they respond to my BBB complaint against them. Bye-Bye Macys!!!!! I will take my money elsewhere.

Yesterday I received an account statement from Macy's indicating that my previous payment was past due and that I was being assessed a late fee and an interest charge. I checked my records and found that I had mailed the payment 4 days prior to the due date. I called the customer service line and was told that to assure that my payment arrives on time it should be mailed 10 days prior to due date. This is a scam that I've seen before and now is apparently being used by Macy's. Unbelieveable. Neither I or my family will ever set foot in a Macy's store again and I will try my best to spread the word.

I took my family to Macy's Harold Sq store on Tuesday November 23, 2010. My grandchildren sat on Santa's lap and had their photos taken in Santaland. I purchased a flash drive containing the pictures. When I got home and viewed the pictures on the flashdrive they were defective: the frames are on backwards, causing children to be cut out of the pictures. I immediately tried to contact Santaland, starting on November 24. To date I have made numerous phone calls and spoken with eight different people in the store, to no avail. Their responses ranged from denial that Santaland was even open to a very helpful person at the visitor center who took my phone number to give to someone to call me about the problem (that person has yet to call). Now it is one week later and the matter has not been resolved and I have not yet been able to speak to a person who can help.

I just cut my Macy's card to bits. I have shopped Macy's since they replaced L.S.Ayres. I recently paid my credit bill in full and then got another bill for the interest accrued after the bill had been mailed. My payment was not late in fact aleast a week before due date. I have never paid interest on a paid in full bill. Macy's will not get my business unless I have cash and/or a gift card. I see that my voice is going to be lost in the wilderness and they will not miss my paltry buying power but I need to vent my frustration and urge others to watch their bills closely, they maybe be paying unneccessary interest especially since their credit interest is already sky-high.
