IT INFURIATES ME TO KNOW THAT YOUR COMPANY FEELS YOUR MUSLIM EMPLOYEES NEED TO BE HONORED WITH A CELEBRATED HOLIDAY. IF I HAD THE POWER TO I WOULD DISCOURAGE EVERYONE EVERYWHERE TO STOP BUYING ANY PRODUCT MADE BY YOUR COMPANY AND ALSO ANY COMPANY AFFILIATED WITH YOURS FOR WHAT HAS BEEN DONE. A SLAP IN THE FACE OF EVERY WORKING AMERICAN. TAKE YOUR PRODUCTS AND SHOVE THEM!
You stop our Labor Day and set up in favor of a Muslim Holiday! you can kiss my butt and I will never buy anything for you again!
for those that refuse to buy tyson products I dont blame you. I have dealt with this company for years and I can tell you Ive never seen a more corrupt practice. They put up a very good front BUT behind the scenes its all about that dollar. They would cut your childs throat to save a penny. Don't take my word for it. Do a search. I am a farmer that grows chickens for them. I refuse to give my name or any other information due to extreme fear. First you must understand why the farmers fear. 10+ years ago I was doing pretty well. I had recently got married and started a family. we had just bought our first home. The local Tyson plant had been here for approx 5 years and I had heard about this chicken farming business but never really considered it. Then one day out of the blue the office I worked in closed up shop and moved 3 hours away. I was now unemployeed with a family to feed and bills to pay. I decided to try this farming thing. I managed to find a local farm for sale. A very nice farm 200,000 house sitting on 105 acres of land with a giant pond for me and my kids to fish in. It also had 8 poultry barns on it. asking price = 1.3 mil. I got excited. this was a dream. Could I really afford this huge operation? Could I really do it? Now my biggest mistake. I used Tyson Foods as my research. With no other understanding of the chicken business I went to Tyson and just asked about it. I was told that This was a great business to be in. They even took me to farms that were doing very well and really SOLD me on the idea of being a chicken farmer. claims that a farmer can make 10k/year off each barn they own. there is 80 barns on this property. thats 80k/year. WOW.. Right? So I invested EVERY penny. I bought this farm. For the first few years it was ehh OK. I was not quite makeing the 10k they had promised. actually I was making more around 5k. BUT hey thats still 40k/year. I was getting by. Then costs started going up. For example a major expense for me is gas(propane). the first year I owned the farm I paid .82/gal for gas. this past year I paid 1.62/gal so over the years my gas bill has went up from 40k/year to 80k/year so remember I was only making about 40k/year and now with just 1 of the expenses all of my profit is gone. This happened slowly but surly. every year I made less and less. Now during this time tyson did give small raises and such but it nowhere near covered the price increases. This past year i lost money. Thats right.. I worked my butt off all year long and ended up in debt a extra 28,000. BUT hey. There is LIGHT at the end of this very long tunnel. I set my loans up on a 15 year note. AHH the big pay off right? I meen once i stop paying these huge loans I'll make so much money I can swim in it. I pay the bank 120,000 a year. that will be so awesome. I'll just struggle til then. we can do without for a while. Now with 4 years to go on my loans Tyson foods Calls me in for a meeting. The purpose of this meeting it to inform me that they need me to make some upgrades to my farm. Very expensive upgrades. in fact the estimate I have is over 500,000. Now.. these upgrades will come with a raise from Tyson BUT as usual they will only cover about half of what the payments on the new loans would be. While it is Not required that I make these upgrades. They strongly encourage them. They try to sell it saying that I will produce so much better therefor make so much more money.. I have resisted the upgrades for a while now. Tyson foods has become more and more hostile towards me. I do have a contract. Understand tho that I havent read this contract since the first one. it could say I owe them a kidney and there is nothing I can do. when you owe a million dollars and they come to you and say you gotta sign here in order to get chickens this time. Well honestly you sign the damn paper. These contracts say that I cannot sue and pretty much Everything must be perfect. They always have said this but in the past they were not picky. You see here is the end. You see I have a problem at my farm. I wont go into details for fear of giving away who I am. it is a rather small problem that has built up over the years. does not affect the chicksn in any way. more of a ease of access issue. Tyson has NEVER said anything about it. recently they sent me a letter out of the blue that states if I don't fix this problem in 10 days Im no longer growing chickens. 10 days? really? I contacted everyone around to help and the soonest I can get someone is 3 weeks. They don't really care about this problem mind you. They want me to upgrade. if I dont invest this money They will run me out of business. I am screwed. I cant afford to upgrade and tie myself down for 15 more years not makeing ANY money. Obviously they are not gonna allow me to survive if I do not upgrade. So solution? Ohh Well I guess I'll just sell the farm. naa.. see thats not such a great idea. I owe 500,000 to bank for farm. another 100k-150k in other loans. so total debt is around 650k. in order to sell the barns they will "require" that the be upgraded. so any new buyer is going to have to put 500,000 on top of what he/she pays for the farm. already at 1.2mil starting price it would not cash flow. so basically right now I can sell it and just PRAY that after a decade of very hard work. maybe I can break even and restart my life. that is assumeing I can find someone willing to buy the place and I don't get forclosed on. This is just a Rant. I know none of you even care probably. BUT dont think this is just a case of a farm that made bad choices or did crappy work. Do some research for yourself. You will find hundreds of farmers that used to do business with tyson foods with a story that matches this one almost exactly. Some of them much worse that mine. several farmers have taken there own lives due to tyson's destructive practices. So far only 1 successful lawsuit has worked.
In replacing the Labor Day holiday with Ramadan, your company has entered into a religious, congressional, and economic war against the United States of America. The replacement of an American holiday, which is recognized and approved by the Congress of the United States, with an Islamic aspiration not recognized by our Congress is a meaningless frivolity. The Judeo-Christian population recognizes that those who keep Ramadan do not have the best interest in mind of Christians and Jews in America, nor of the nation of Israel, especially regarding the labor force. Anyone desiring to annihilate the long established American Judeo-Christian Labor Day holiday, replacing it with an Islamic meliorism that is appreciated only in Muslim circles, certainly does not have the constitutional interest of all workers in mind for a betterment of condition or state. This demonstrates a duplicitous use of the free enterprise system code of holidays depriving all, except Muslims, to participate in Ramadan. The fairness of Labor Day is that anyone and everyone may participate. However, it is evident to me that your action in making an elimination of Labor Day in an exchangement with Ramadan is a violation against the U.S. Constitution, the Congress of the U.S., The Declaration of Independence, Judeo-Christian principles, and American work ethics, as well as socio-political moral coding for American life. As a consequence of your anti-American business practice, I denounce what you have done, and as a free American who supports Labor Day, I and my family, friends and neighbors and fellow-American with whom I share this information will NEVER purchase your products from this day forth. You have lost a great deal of business, as this will be voluminously made known to our community and state. God bless America, as she supports Judeo-Christian laws, principles, practices, beliefs, and socio-political government, community life, and holidays! Happy Labor Day!
Tyson chicken isn't good enough to feed to my dogs. I am having a large newspaper ad in this area of TN STATING NOT BUY YOUR MUSLIM SHIT. ADDITIONALLY we will protest at the local stores to not stock your chicken muslim shit.
Shame on you Tyson! This Muslim holiday might get you a mention or two from our current president, but cost you much in sales. Count me out as a customer.
I am giving Tyson chicken a poor rating because the quality of their chicken is poor, due to the crowded facilities, unsafe conditions for the animals, lack of concern about natural animal behaviors and how that impacts the health of the chicken, and sub-par environmental protections. I am, however, incredibly saddened to read the comments by other consumers regarding the adoption of a Muslim holiday to accommodate the many Muslim refugees that make minimal wages, likely receive no health care, are exposed to an unsafe work environment, and had to leave their families to work in a country that tells them "if they want to live here, they should adopt our customs." If we think back to why people came to this country originally, wasn't it because they wished to leave an intolerable society that told them everyone was required to believe the same things, have the same religions, etc.? The beauty of America is our tolerance for other views, and the encouragement for people to be free to worship how we wish. Would you be submitting the same comments if a large number of the workers were Jewish and Tyson decided to make Yom Kippur or Rosh Hashanah a scheduled holiday? Isn't the purpose of Labor Day to celebrate labor organizations, the rights of workers, and trade unions? If the employees or "laborers" vote by majority not to receive this day off in exchange for another day that means more to them honoring exactly what labor day is meant to celebrate? I.e., the rights of laborers? We should be celebrating Tyson's willingness to do this rather than deciding not to buy their products because of this singular fact. You should consider the health impacts of their chicken and not buy it for those reasons rather than for the reasons you've stated, which are based on thoughts and ideas that run completely contrary to the ideals of this country, as expressed in our Constitution. This close minded hatred of all things Muslim is an incredibly sad movement in this country and makes me concerned about how our country is becoming exactly what it was never meant to be. I don't mean to criticize anyone's viewpoint, but only hope that you read these comments with an open mind.
I AM APPALED AT YOUR NEW POLICY. I WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE BUYING ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS, AND I WILL BE PASSING THE EMAIL REGARDING THIS TO EVERYONE I KNOW.( IN CALIFORNIA) SHAME ON YOU. WHY DON'T YOU RELOCATE YOUR PLANT TO THE MUSLIM COUNTRIES? THAT IS WHERE YOU SHOULD BE.
I know someone that works for Tyson Foods. He works second shift as a packer. He Talks about how the chicken is packed with blood and fat. He also talks about packing inferior chicken that he would not feed a dog. Where are the inspectors that are suppose to watch out for this sort of thing? Apparently, the quest is for quantity and not quality. I know that people are not treated fairly. Now they are taking Labor Day away as a paid holiday in favor of another holiday for foreign employees. No wonder people buy Perdue chicken. Perdue chicken is cut evenly and is uniform size, which is more than I can say for Tyson. Shame on you Tyson!!!!!!!
Wow, I am so shocked. I always thought the "customer" came first. Seems you are going to be losing many. Eat chicken for Ramandan!
Not only has your food quality dropped TREMENDOUSLY, your company has dropped the Labor Day holiday for the last day of Ramadan for your muslim employees! What the heck is the matter with ya'll??!!! THIS is America . . . founded on christianity. I will tell EVERYONE I know about this and your business will plummet . . . it may take time, but I guarantee you with policies like this and your food quality . . . you WILL fall!
Have sent Email to everyone I know and asked them to forward. Will no longer purchase your products due to your changing Labor Day to a Muslim holiday. Even tho you have so many muslims this is the United States and we celebrate that day as LABOR DAY!!!! Very unhappy camper!!!!
SO SORRY TO HEAR YOU HAVE TAKEN A MUSLIM STANCE OVER AN AMERICAN HOLIDAY....I HAVE PURCHASED YOUR PRODUCTS FOR YEARS....NO MORE....I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME ON TYSON PRODUCTS....I HOPE THERE ARE MILLIONS OF YOUR CUSTOMERS THAT FEEL THE SAME AS I DO..X CUSTOMERS OF TYSON FOODS....GOD BLESS AMERICA & AMERICAN HOLIDAYS...MAYBE YOU AND YOUR CHICKENS SHOULD RE-LOCATE TO A DIFFERENT COUNTRY...
I will not be buying any more of your products. Any products I have from tyson at this time will be discarded. You are a threat to America and the American way of life. If you are not a muslim you are an infedel and the muslims kill infedels. It's thier religeous beliefs. Ask Them! I dare you!!! I will pass this along to all the people I know.
I'm tired of everyone being politically "correct". Since Tyson has dropped Labor Day for a moslem holiday, I will be dropping Tyson products and using products from companies that respect their host country.
You un-American bastards should be tarred and feathered. Is there no Ku Klux Klan in your part of the country. Our national holidays are designated by Congress to honor men of honor. What has Somalia done for the US other than furnish cheap labor? I hope your chickens all end up with coccidiosis. You have received my last dollar............
Taking away an American Holiday for a Muslim Holiday is Un-American.... I and many of my acquaintances WILL NOT EVER BUY TYSON PRODUCTS..... Have a nice Muslim life. your company is a disgrace to the wonderful USA.
Providing employment, housing, food, and government grants for "The Enemy," and giving their anti-Christian religion accommodation and priority in this, our own nation, while thousands of our own Tennesseans are unemployed, have lost housing, are in need of food for survival, and, above all, find themselves usurped by a people whose prophet and god must be honored; who could have imagined our society would come to this? May God help us.
I just learned that Tyson foods has traded Labor day for a Muslin holiday. I'm just one person and to let you know I will not purchase any product that is owned or is connected with Tyson food group. I shop at costco warehouse clubs as well as Sams clubs. I have celiac disease so I have to read labels on food products so I see who the product manufacture is. Any product made by or is own by Tyson food groups I will not be purchasing. Fry's markets as well as other markets here in Arizona carry your products, I shop there as well, again I will not be purchasing your products from them as well. Like I said I will be reading labels and what is owned by Tyson or any product that is connected with Tyson I WILL NOT purchase. If I were a member of the labor union that agreed to this, I think I would start a movement to change unions. I will boycott any and all tyson products.
We may not be able to change your minds about the Labor Day hoilday switch to a muslim holiday, BUT I CAN CHANGE MY MIND AND NOT BUY ANYMORE OF YOUR PRODUCTS , THIS IS AMERICA, NOT SOMOLIA, THIS IS HOW THESE PROBLEMS START, ONE LITTLE CHANGE THEN BEFORE LONG THERE ARE LAWS SHOVING MUSLIM LAWS DOWN OUR THROATS.
